I could leave it at that, but that would be much fun now, would it?While I'm of the firm belief that all Firehouse Subs are created equally great, what makes this place epic, as described above is this restaurant's owner. Raj, as he's affectionately known, has gone above and beyond for his community, and year after year he's recognized by many local entities including: schools, police departments, fire departments, etc. for his commitment to those his restaurant serves. His restaurant has also helped many first responders to gain access to life-saving equipment through The Firehouse Foundation, a non-profit organization that uses your "round-up" money that they ask for at the register. With that in mind, I'd like to ask you to say "yes" the next time you're asked. For those that donate on a regular basis, please know that it helps. Ok, back to the food itself...The sandwiches he crafts are fresh, tasty and artistic and I'm looking forward to my next one.Try the Turkey Bacon Ranch... you'll thank me later. "I was in town visiting family and decided to stop here for breakfast!! I must say what a pleasant surprise. If you are a NY bagel fan you can get your fix here. Yes, the owners are native New Yorkers! I got the lox and it was pretty darn tasty. Make sure you do not leave out the scallion cream cheese! It is not to be missed. I also tried a latte which was just alright. I think the winner here is their food. The restaurant is HUGE and great for bringing loved ones. It did get pretty busy in there and loud. So, if a bustling diner feel is not your thing maybe go elsewhere. Phenomenal service as well. I will say I did like it enough to return. I sat around the espresso bar solo and had a lovely time chatting it up with the baristas."

"You all have an easy job, EASY. Clean the place, double clean the veggies, inspect the food, and serve food. Seriously what is so hard about that? When you serve food, make sure there aren't any insects attached to the veggies, the meat is not bad, etc. Inspect the freaking food, you all have eyes!!! I can understand a hair, but a nasty worm hanging from the lettuce?!! Yes. I found a worm attached to the lettuce. The lettuce is purple and you can easily see the damn thing. Therefore, it is obvious that whoever prepared the sandwich didn't take the time to wash the veggies and inspect the food. I can just imagine what other nasty crap goes on their food. Never, ever, ever again will I go to this place.My husband talked to the manager (she didn't even come talk to him at first, he had to tell her to come and address the customer) Yamir? She looks middle eastern. She had the audacity to tell my husband "it's comes in the salad, it was just in the salad". "If you're looking for a bakery, a real authentic bakery, with actual choices from everything from gelato, to macaroons, to puff pastries to decadent looking cakes and delicious coffee to wash it all down with, this is the place you need to be. I cannot say enough good things about this place. I've been here a few times and each time it's been for something sweet and a coffee. I've never considered myself as someone who likes sweets, normally I would rather have a bowl of mashed potatoes over a bowl of ice cream, but something about this place just reminds me of growing up in Chicago and hitting the bakery stores with my grandma and my aunt Liz, it just brings me back to that wonderful time and I can't help but indulging. Houston has a lot going for it, but bakeries was definitely not one of them in my opinion, that is until I found Rao's. Take it from an old Italian, this is where you want to go to impress anyone with an array of desserts or simply a coffee and a break out of the house. Take yourself to Rao's and enjoy your afternoon"

"When you visit places like this to eat you immediately see why it's a restaurant where locals eat or those in the know that use Yelp. Yes, they sell spices, seasonings, imported pastas and sauces, etc. but the real reason you come here is to eat. And it better be for lunch as they stop serving at 3 pm and close the store for the other stuff at 5 pm. I'll give you a tip. When you arrive here it may look very busy with all of the cars parked on the street in front. Most of those cars are not for this business. Come on in.Inside it reminds you of a small version of Central Grocery in the New Orleans French Quarter or the way the that Stanton's City Bites in Houston looked years ago before they remodeled. Kind of a bodega feel to it. The food here is seriously good. Their sandwiches are legit. Most famous is their muffuletta that you can get as a whole,1/2 or just a 1/4. Prices are reasonable. I've had the 1/2 muff served warm and the bread was so soft and the interior so flavorful. It was simply delish. I've also tried the seafood gumbo in a bowl and it was excellent with an authentic roux. On my next visit I must try the roast beef sandwich. The seating inside is a few small tables and a counter area with stools. They also have a nice uncovered outdoor seating area if the weather is nice. It's counter service here and they always have a daily specials board. Come eat here!"

"I have had Tony's bookmarked for years now after it won best restaurant in the US from Yelp several years ago. I rarely get up this way and when I did had other plans but last Saturday I finally made it for lunch.I found the restaurant in an old and small strip center with limited parking. Inside it's a counter service eatery with attractive decor and two dining areas. One area is as you enter that is brightly lit and decorative and the other room dimly lit which is where the self serve soft drink and tea area is located.I decided to go against the norm here and not order a traditional meat sandwich but instead ask for the DiCaprio (all of the sando's here have Italian celebrity names) for $12. I added a bag of Zapp's chips for another $2 and a soft drink. With tax the entire meal was $16 and change. The DiCaprio is Tony's chicken salad sandwich with spring mix, bacon, American cheese, marinated Roma tomatoes mayo and sub oil on crunchy Italian bread. Mine was ready in 5 minutes after ordering and it was huge. Like big enough for 2 people to eat and be satisfied. Its size was impressive and absolutely delicious taste wise. I love a good chicken salad sandwich and this was one of them. The chicken salad was creamy and flavorful with grapes, nuts and a very smooth taste. With the other additives every bite was a pleasure to eat. While the oh so important bread is called crunchy Italian it's actually very fresh and soft. It was quality as was everything in that sandwich. Leonardo would be proud to have this named after him. During the meal, I sat in the dimly lit area and also enjoyed the good Italian music being played. The sandwich was excellent in taste and its size and cost represented very good value. I would very much like to return but this location is difficult for me. Going all of the way to Conroe and then it's a full 10 minute drive off of I-45 but for those that live closer they are the lucky ones. I'm not sure about this deserving to be the #1 restaurant in the US but it is an excellent Italian sandwich shop."

"Meat and I are very off and on. Right now we're on. I was craving a delicious deli sandwich on crusty bread with lettuce, tomato, mayo, and mustard. I'm trying all the sandwich shoppes near me and it was Jersey Mike's time. I think it is my first time trying this chain and I was not disappointed. I ordered a club sandwich with ham, Turkey, provolone cheese, lettuce and tomato. They gave me a good serving of mayo too. I ordered a regular but could have gotten away with a mini. I did not want the bacon on it. I also grabbed a bag of salt & vinegar chips to put in my sandwich. The white bread is soft and a bit crunchy. It tastes good, delicious.I have dinner for two days. The sandwich is a little sloppy in a good way. Yum!"

It's located in the Smith Tower on the 2nd (Crosswalk) level. Come early for breakfast if you crave some savory biscuits, croissants, fruit parfaits, hot oatmeal, breakfast tacos, smoothies or muffins. Now, come for lunch and choose any of their tasty sandwiches, gourmet salads, gourmet build your own salad bar, several pastas or lasagna. They also have a hot food line that changes daily that always features main entrees, veggies, dessert and 3 soups. Since this place can get super busy and crowed, I recommend if you are in a hurry, snag one of their pre-made salad or sandwiches. Or if you have a sweet tooth, they offer several brownies, cookies, cakes and other sugary goodnesses. I normally always opt for my toasted California Club on wheat. Yes, the sandwich alone will run you about $7 but it's filling and I can make 2 meals out of it when I'm pulling a long shift. One of their most popular dishes is their Super creamy and rich Tequila Chicken pasta; always see the nurses grubbing on it = )"

Our waitress was very friendly and apologetic but it was taking forever to get the orders out. I did watch a monster chicken fried steak go to the next table and had a little food envy. I ordered a blackberry cobbler to go along with another desert and wound up chasing it down after a long wait.I will say they did comp it due to the wait. I am hoping they were just having an off day. Not an elaborate place but the food was fine."

I specifically asked for no mayo on any of the sandwiches... every single sandwich was slathered in it. I sent corporate an email and was promised a "do over" tray by this location but it was never fulfilled. Definitely disappointed. Will return for sammies but probably not for large scale orders."

It was a three to four times affairs each week. But I stopped going after I started a family and needed to save money. Over twenty-five years later, with an insane long line at Grill City, my wife and I decided it was time to revisit Jason's. My wife went with a turkey muffuletta. I went with a classic cold cut Italian. We both picked the seafood gumbo cup to go with the sandwiches. The gumbo was full of flavor. The broth was not too thin nor thick, nice consistency. Both sandwiches tasted delicious with protein and bread ratio in harmony. The greens in both sandwiches were fresh. The sandwiches were hand-made on ordering and arrived quickly. Friendly employees were constantly clearing and cleaning tables. It was good to eat at Jason's again."

"I found this place my accident. One of my coworkers called me this morning about a place with a similar name he found on Yelp. When I did the search this place came up and even though there was no Yelp activity (reviews, tips or check ins) and after checking their online menu, we decided to give it a try.Now we have a small deli in our building, this is no means an even comparison. We have a small variety of items that we can order and they only take cash. Who does that in the 21st century? Skyline is a little hard to find because there are no signs and it is located in the Worley Parsons building. Once we walked in we just followed the people that were streaming in and out of the deli. First of all, they have a very extensive menu. It includes: Paninis, wraps, daily specials and combos, build your own salads, pasta and sandwiches, breakfast, tacos, smoothies, beverages and desserts. They also do catering! I can eat here every day and not have the same thing!My friend ordered the chicken and dumplings special of the day with green beans and he enjoyed it thoroughly. I had a ham and cheese panini with a cup of chicken noodle soup. The soup was hot and had very good flavor.and the panini was prepared perfectly for me.They have a beverage section with fountain drinks and 2 types of tea with free refills which I took advantage of. Lastly they take all types of payments and there is an ATM if you need cash. They even have a rewards program that I will check out."
