I've been coming here since I was a baby in a carrier. It's still one of my most favorite places to eat! You get a whirl of excitement just walking in. It's bustling, yet everyone takes time to stop and chat. There's something delicious on the menu for everyone, and you'll never leave hungry! K&Z's food is always part of special days in my life, from birthdays to b'nai mitzvahs, to family dinner before I returned to college each semester, to Jewish holidays and family reunions. Even late at night after an Astros game. It tastes like home and I'll recommend it to everyone forever.

RACIST ASL. GO AT YOUR RISK. It was whatever when the people who attend here was being odd and staring you down. But the staff definitely do the same but worse. Had to leave because we were highly uncomfortable. For one, we were seated alllllllll day way in the back corner by the registers/staff, for them to either stay in a huddle watching us or stand behind the counter or register, watching us. The one on the right behind the counter kept giving us a look and muttering some crap under his breath. And these are the kinds of racists that are fearless. Usually they break eye contact when you stare them down but here. THEY WILL CONTINUE TO STARE. VERY UNCOMFORTABLE. Just too much for some bs. Why would I trust any food from here? It didnt seem like we were wanted in the first place. Didnt get to get anything but a pickle and kids apple juice. He tried to charge us 28 for all the beverages but we only had one....: just an odd establishment. && FYI, THIS WOULD NEVER TAKE PLACE IN NY. ITS DIVERSE ENOUGH NOT TO GET STARED DOWN LIKE WE DONT BELONG. Do not recommend by any means. Havent even been posting on yelp for a long time but for some bs that the public should know, I will let it be known. And it's loud asl inside. Cant even have a decent conversation without yelling.

I haven't had any of the dine-in food but walking inside made me instantly reminisce the city vibes of Manhattan, a shiny, classy version of Katz's. I was scouring the Yelp search for some of the best cheesecake/cakes in Houston proper and came upon a couple outstanding reviews of K&Z's cheesecakes. During my 4 month stay in Houston, I've definitely bought slice after slice on many occasions, it's THAT good! Extremely rich, decadent and LARGE portions of NY style cheesecake! I still dream about cheesecake here. And I've also gifted slices to acquaintances during our stay in Htown. Overwhelming rave responses! It's definitely one of the top two cheesecake establishments in my book. You can't go wrong with ANY of the different flavors they offer here. I must have had every version, so pick and choose according to personal preferences. Man, I wish I had the luxury to actually sit down and have a proper meal here. I'm scrolling through the pictures and mouth watering for some matzo ball soup or those crisp looking pickles!!

If you love deli's and sandwiches, this is the perfect one for you. The foods here are probably the best I've had out of all the delis I've been to. Despite the higher prices for a lot of the dishes, the portions are huge as well, so it's totally worth it. I had so much left over to bring back home as well. Our server was super nice, and the foods were amazing. I got the Fiddler On The Roof of Your Mouth as well as the Dip Tracy. I also got the Hot Fudge Sundae.Fiddler On The Roof of Your Mouth was super stacked. It came with pastrami, corned beef, and cole slaw. The combination was so good, and the portion size for this was especially big, so it was especially worth the price. The Dip Tracy (French Dip) was amazing as well. The meats were juicy, and the au jus was just right. The flavors were amazing, and it's probably gonna be one of my go-to's to order next time. I got it with fries and cole slaw, and they were both really good as well. The Hot Fudge Sundae was super nice as well. I got it with vanilla ice cream. The pecans went super well with it.Overall, I would definitely go here again and try their other dishes. I really want to try their other desserts as well.

I was in town visiting family and decided to stop here for breakfast!! I must say what a pleasant surprise. If you are a NY bagel fan you can get your fix here. Yes, the owners are native New Yorkers! I got the lox and it was pretty darn tasty. Make sure you do not leave out the scallion cream cheese! It is not to be missed. I also tried a latte which was just alright. I think the winner here is their food. The restaurant is HUGE and great for bringing loved ones. It did get pretty busy in there and loud. So, if a bustling diner feel is not your thing maybe go elsewhere. Phenomenal service as well. I will say I did like it enough to return. I sat around the espresso bar solo and had a lovely time chatting it up with the baristas.

"Tastes like new york" -my dad as he eats the knockwurst special. He grew up in Connecticut and New York, so I was happy to see that he really enjoyed this place! This is my 3rd time at this location (went to their previous one twice if I'm correct)I ordered the Mike's meshugganah burger, it was delicious, huge, very filling. Would not change a thing about that burger. Fries were crispy, coleslaw wasn't dry. I'd order this again for sure. The frosted gingerbread latte is yummy but VERY sweet. As someone who loves sweet stuff even this was too sweet for me. Struggled to finish it, if possible I'd tell them to skip the white chocolate sauce. Service was great too- we were seated right away when we came in at around 3pm. Our initial waiter did end up a bit busy with another table that was taking long to order, BUT this was not an issue to us. I mention this to more so highlight the fact that another waiter noticed and covered for him and took our orders for him. He was really apologetic, but again we weren't in a rush. Just really like how they work well together. We didn't go in when it was super busy, so our food was brought out pretty quick. We ordered a black and white cookie which I LOVED. it's one of those thing I always get when I visit family in New York, and grocery stores down here just don't make it right. But this place does! As well as their babka, the perfect baked item.

Went back to eat some regular food and gave there blackout a try again because it looked different. They changed it back to its original recipe and I'm super happy! Will be going back to get more blackouts, i love how it's not that sweet and chocolate central!

Great ambiance, incredibly large portions. Their cakes are huge and to die for - I ordered a carrot cake for a birthday celebration and it was a hit. Everything I've tasted here was delicious and the service is great too.

My favorite breakfast in houston. Best food. Amazing service. And a New York esque ambiance. The only part that sucks is the wait because everyone loves Kenny and Ziggys.
