"We stopped at el Tiempo on a Saturday for lunch. It's located conveniently near Sun and Ski.I started with a house margarita. Very good and it had a couple of shots included. Not bad for the price.We ordered some queso as an appetizer. The queso was quite good, we also enjoyed the green sauce. The red salsa has a good kick to it, and was too spicy for my wife and kid.I ordered the crab enchilada lunch portion and enjoyed the creamy goodness. ET did not skimp on the crab meat, either. I would order this entree again.My wife had a salad and my daughter had the fajitas. Neither of them was impressed with the fajita meat seasoning.No problems with service. Water were filled and the food came quickly.Overall, I enjoyed my meal, but my wife and daughter do not think they will return to this location."

"This Houston hidden gem! Why are the reviews so low?! As soon as you walk in, you're greeted with warm welcomes. We sit down, chips and salsa are brought to the table; they recommend the homemade fresh lemonade. O-M-G--- so refreshing, I think there was watermelon and apple bits in it-- I don't know what's in there but it's freakin delicious. There's no menus- our waiter (one of the owners/one of the brothers) rattled off the offerings off the top of his head. One we ordered, he brings out a small side of charro beans for each of us. The carne guisada comes out. Flavorful, spicy but not over the top. Fresh homemade tortillas. I cleaned my plate. Family ran spot for 34 years. Delicious food.Chill ambiance. Support local. Makes me feel like I'm back at moms house for a family party! This spot has a super authentic feel and the inside is well maintained and modern. The fajitas are delicious and always come out sizzling! The street tacos are all amazing. And you have to try the dorado tacos. Crispy cheesy goodness all around! I forget who the name of the girl that's always behind the bar but she is super sweet and always remembers my drink orders. Lorena is also a really great server. "Totally worth the 25min drive for me just to get their quesadillas, they have flor de calabaza, huitlacoche- can't find those just anywhere. I've taken some friends here a couple of times and EVERYONE loves their food. My favorite is their cecina, it's flavorful & tender. Their quesadilla tortillas are handmade of fresh masa & deep fried, they're pretty big- hard to find too, they're topped off with lettuce, queso fresco on top of their meat and melted cheese. Their tortas are huge and good too."

"The Hacienda Polomas is the latest Tex Mex style restaurant to occupy this Kingwood location. My first impression is of the 3 or 4 incarnations, this is the best. First the dining area is open, festive and inviting. Second they have a large, covered outdoor patios area. Last, but not least, they have a large menu that includes all the traditional offerings like fajitas, enchiladas and tacos. However also they grilled fish and seafood selections that were very flavorful.I wish them longevity and success."

"So if you've been following my laundry list of foodie shenanigans, you know I highly value amazing interaction, which is why I like sitting at the bar. So today was special, I dragged my bro to the gym and after we were spent, we went for Tacos. We almost pick somewhere else, but we lucked out in a major way. The Nitty GrittyWhen we walked in it was quiet, clean, and the bar was nearly empty. I could hear the barstools beckoning us like Homer's sirens, and thus we crashed out ship upon their padded tops. Our bartender was Ashley. She was warm, welcoming, and the vibe was like when you meet that old friend you haven't seen in forever... and they just happen to be a bartender at Torchy's (no... not the free drinks kind). She hooked us up with a copy of the new secret menu (gonna say here that Tipsy Chick needs to come back). I had The Matador, and The Ace of Spades, which we came to the conclusion that when anyone orders the Ace of Spades they should sing it like Motorhead. It made the ordering so much fun. Both tacos were loaded and omg good af. You have to check out the picture. We had house Margaritas (because we earned them at the gym).All in all Ashley gave us a dining "experience" that was refreshing, kind, engaging, and all around awesome. She was the cool bean serving the awesome sauce and I will absolutely be back. I will drag Sam with me... again. Ask for Ashley. Tip her well bc she deserves it. Stay awesome."

"We've been to the other flats location and finally made it to the this location. 5 of us semi-foodies ordered a plethora of goodies and everything was very tasty. The chili on queso bowl was very good. The pechuga del mar was enjoyed by my wife, shrimp and chicken and avocado. On buddy got the platos mexicanos and she picked two cheese enchiladas with black beans. I got the chicken fried steak with white gravy, fries and a salad. I shared some of it with my son and both of us enjoyed it. One of us enjoyed a margarita on the rocks with salt on the rim. I think we decided we'll be back for more. The service was good too."

To start off, the complimentary chips and two kinds of salsa were delicious--obviously freshly made.We had an order of the combo beef and chicken fajitas, and both meats were excellent, very tender. The tortillas, rice, and beans that came with the meal were great as well. And both the regular house and frozen margaritas were tasty as well.The only thing I didn't like about Hiway Cantina is that they only serve three tortillas with a big order of fajitas and charge extra for more tortillas--I just don't like being nickled and dimed when I'm paying a lot for a meal already."

"My husband loves Chili's. Other than the Dip Trio (good chips and guac), and the fried pickles (because I love pickles in general, especially fried), I am not a huge fan, but any day that he gets to order his beloved Triple Dipper for take out with Chicken Crispers, Southwestern Eggrolls, and Boneless Buffalo Wings, is a good day to him. Recently we ordered from this particular Chili's and just were not fully satisfied. The guacamole lacked salt, and they did not include any of the dipping sauces for the Triple Dipper, which just seemed kind of sad without its dipping cups. Since there are not very many Chili's to choose from in the area I'm sure that we will continue to order from this one, but hopefully next time the seasoning and the presentation will be a little more impressive. "Oh Torchy's, I was so excited to welcome you to Pearland, but you have let me down today. I'm not mad, I'm disappointed *spoken in my best motherly tone*I made a point to wait a few weeks to let the hype calm down before ordering from this location. I placed an order on the app this morning for one taco (The Wrangler, my favorite). The default order time is 15 minutes. I placed the order without any issues. About 7 minutes in, the status of the order was still in progress. Perfect. At the 15 minute mark, my order was ready. Awesome! I was going to be in and out and on my way. Well what should have been a quick stop turned into an hour ordeal. When I arrived, there were not any orders in the pick up area. There were a few people waiting. I overheard a few people say they had been waiting 20-30 minutes. I figured that they're still working out the kinks since it's a new location. I patiently waited and watched the people who were there before me finally get their orders. After about 30 minutes, I noticed people who came in after me left before me. I eventually went to the cashier to check on the order. The young lady was able to look up my order in the system and radio to the kitchen to expedite my order. In the meantime, people were picking up large orders while I was still waiting on one taco. After about another 10 minutes, I asked an employee who had just dropped off food about my order and they said they would expedite it again. A few minutes later, I asked another employee who dropped off more orders to check on it. There were some apologies about the wait, but still no taco. At some point, an employee asked me my name and said that my order showed as ready and that someone must have picked it up. I have no idea if someone took my food, if they accidentally gave my food to someone else, or if they completely dropped the ball and missed my order. All I know is that the entire time I was waiting, they never called my name and I arrived right when the order was supposed to be ready.Eventually a young man said they found the ticket and said they were making my taco. I normally don't ask for extras but I was irritated and annoyed so I asked him for some chips and queso and to speak to the manager (which I never do). The manager came out immediately and apologized. I then asked the manager for chips and queso or something extra for the hour long wait. He said yes without hesitation.When they finally brought my food out, the manager apologized again and said he refunded me. He said it should take about an hour for the refund to show, but it hasn't yet. I'm guessing it will be a day or two before I get the refund. I was happy that he did that, as I wasn't expecting it. I'm kind of annoyed that I had to ask for extra food, but I'm happy that they owned the mistake and tried to make it right. Y'all know I'm a service person. Had it not been for the service recovery, this would straight up be a 1-star review. My food was tasty (as always), but I missed a meeting waiting an hour for one taco. Torchy's, your tacos may be "damn good" but the speed of your service isn't. Fix it please, and do better."

Add rice, pico and fresh avocado on the side. The chips are crisp and light. Both the green and red salsas were good. The chicken enchiladas covered with a spicy salsa verde sauce and a side of black beans were okay. The chicken fajitas were a hit. No room for dessert, but nice to end the meal with a pralines. Parking is so easy in the strip center parking lot. Dinner was $60 for 4."

The restaurant wasn't crowded for a Friday night so we had the opportunity to chill on the patio. We had eaten just a few hours earlier so we really only wanted to snack, drink and laugh. To our surprise, the nachos was delicious paired with our drinks. I had the Don Julio jumbo margarita and I could see the liquor floating on the top and bottom on my glass. We ordered the combo nachos to share and they hit the spot so good we ordered a second plate. Anyway, the service, food, vibe 4 stars."

The chips were not greasy like other places. Salsa had an excellent kick, I downed three of the little bowls. I would come back just for chips & salsa. I had the chicken Diablo. I enjoyed it very much and the beans and rice seemed authentic. Wifey had the chicken soup and since it looked very delicious i tried that too. Definitely delicious and being very picky about my soup I would definitely order for myself. The waiter was awesome! As an example since my wife arrived 10mins after I did he brought her a fresh iced tea since it looked watered down.Anyway will definitely return!"

Several of her family members live in or near Garden Oaks and they know all the restaurants here, and I have to say I don't think the selection is too great in this particular neighbourhood, but it's not bad and so we go here (or elsewhere in the same area) to eat with them sometimes, and this is one of the less enjoyable meals we had.It's pretty standard Tex-Mex but I prefer Chacho's and that's 24 hours so I'll stick with what I love. But the service here was good."

However, the plates were all very large, and easily justified the prices! Every single one of us had to take a doggie bag, and promise you... I can eat a LOT! We had the burger, because almost every review said it was outstanding! It was... and it was HUGE! A half-pound burger, cooked to order, tons of toppings, and they offer you an egg on top... can you beat that? NOPE! The wife had the extra crispy fries, and she's a fry snob, and was super happy.The man himself, Guadalaharry even helped wait on our table (and was constantly checking on every table in the restaurant). He recommended the nacho's and to add chili (nice upsell)! It was HUGE AMOUNTS OF FOOD! 3 of us couldn't finish it! and it was delicious!! "This is a fantastic Tex-Mex restaurant! My favorite meal here so far is the blackened red fish, which I haven't tasted better anywhere else. Don't let the unassuming outside of this restaurant fool you because inside, they really know how to cook great food! Came here for lunch during the work day and heard word of mouth rave reviews about their redfish before so I had to try it. The staff greeted us and let us pick out our own table. They immediately brought out our drinks and took our order which was served up rather quick! This means a lot during the middle of a work day that there's no long wait time for lunch. We ordered the fried mushrooms appetizer with a homemade style Ranch dressing. The mushrooms were deep fried and cooked perfectly without being too greasy or too heavy of a focus on the fried crust. Next came the blackened red fish which was served with a type of fried rice and also a side basket of fries. *Fish can be either really good or really bad and thankfully this restaurant makes fantastic redfish that taste like it just came out of the water. The Cajun black and seasoning was not over salty or overwhelming and complemented the filet of redfish really well! The rice was a nice addition to the fish and the fries are always just fun to eat! The staff was super friendly and really personable. They work hard to make sure that you have a nice dining experience and they definitely kept up their end of the bargain! The restaurant is welcoming and what you would expect from a Texas diner. The tables are kept very clean and it was a really enjoyable experience. A definite two big thumbs up! The food quality, the price, the staff and the overall dining experience was really really enjoyable! I highly recommend if you got time to stop in here and grab yourself fantastic piece of blackend red fish!"

El Chaparro is one of the newer additions to the area and when we were in the area, we decided to pop in for lunch.As we usually do, the wife and I ordered chips & queso, as well as a combo fajitas for two. We had the option of ordering white queso or yellow queso. We went with white, but wished we had ordered yellow. Not that we didn't like the white queso, but the flavor was just a tick off from what we were hoping for.The fajitas were excellent. It's hard to say where exactly they rank amongst the competition, but they are definitely on the higher end. The rice and beans that accompanied were just okay, if I'm being honest.But the best part about our experience was the service. From the hostess to the server to the manager, the people here were about as nice and accommodating as one could imagine. We would absolutely return again just for the hospitality (and the margarita flight when we are child-less)."

"We had dinner here last night and it was fantastic! We wanted to grab dinner closer to home, so I'm glad Mi Tierra popped up on yelp. Hubby ordered the house margarita to start. We got the ceviche mixto and the queso to start. The white queso was delish, I couldn't stop eating it! It paired well with the salsa that was served. The ceviche had lots of seafood and was really good! Highly recommend. For our entrees, we got the carne asada enchiladas and the mole chicken. Hubby really enjoyed his enchiladas. The meat was so tender and flavorful. He was raving about the rice. It's usually an afterthought for him, but he ate every single kernel. I'm a sucker for mole, so that's what prompted us to go in the first place. The mole was soooo good. I used my corn tortillas to soak up as much as I could! The flavor was spot on. They're currently still in their soft opening, but the restaurant was spacious and the service was really good. I'm looking forward to being back soon since it will be a staple in the neighborhood.
