"We stopped at el Tiempo on a Saturday for lunch. It's located conveniently near Sun and Ski.I started with a house margarita. Very good and it had a couple of shots included. Not bad for the price. We ordered some queso as an appetizer. The queso was quite good, we also enjoyed the green sauce. The red salsa has a good kick to it, and was too spicy for my wife and kid.I ordered the crab enchilada lunch portion and enjoyed the creamy goodness. ET did not skimp on the crab meat, either. I would order this entree again. My wife had a salad and my daughter had the fajitas. Neither of them was impressed with the fajita meat seasoning. No problems with service. Water were filled and the food came quickly.Overall, I enjoyed my meal, but my wife and daughter do not think they will return to this location."
"This Houston hidden gem! Why are the reviews so low?! As soon as you walk in, you're greeted with warm welcomes. We sit down, chips and salsa are brought to the table; they recommend the homemade fresh lemonade. O-M-G--- so refreshing, I think there was watermelon and apple bits in it-- I don't know what's in there but it's freakin delicious. There's no menus- our waiter (one of the owners/one of the brothers) rattled off the offerings off the top of his head. One we ordered, he brings out a small side of charro beans for each of us. The carne guisada comes out. Flavorful, spicy but not over the top. Fresh homemade tortillas. I cleaned my plate. Family ran spot for 34 years. Delicious food.Chill ambiance. Support local. This is on my list for spots to return to."

Makes me feel like I'm back at moms house for a family party! This spot has a super authentic feel and the inside is well maintained and modern. The fajitas are delicious and always come out sizzling! The street tacos are all amazing. And you have to try the dorado tacos. Crispy cheesy goodness all around! I forget who the name of the girl that's always behind the bar but she is super sweet and always remembers my drink orders. Lorena is also a really great server. Everyone is so charming and I'm pretty sure it's locally owned. You should definitely eat here -- Support your local businesses!"
"Totally worth the 25min drive for me just to get their quesadillas, they have flor de calabaza, huitlacoche- can't find those just anywhere. I've taken some friends here a couple of times and EVERYONE loves their food. My favorite is their cecina, it's flavorful & tender. Their quesadilla tortillas are handmade of fresh masa & deep fried, they're pretty big- hard to find too, they're topped off with lettuce, queso fresco on top of their meat and melted cheese. Their tortas are huge and good too."
"The cocktails are great. The service and staff are fantastic. But portion sizes are small. I got a Parilla for 2 for example. It definitely was the portion size for 1. Then again as an American, maybe we shouldn't need large portion sizes."
"I had a great night out with my besties. The happy hour swirl margarita was so good! I also had the Chicken Gabriella! So delicious! The service was good too. Andrea took good care of us. The girls really recommended this place and I'll definitely be going back!"
"The Hacienda Polomas is the latest Tex Mex style restaurant to occupy this Kingwood location. My first impression is of the 3 or 4 incarnations, this is the best. First the dining area is open, festive and inviting. Second they have a large, covered outdoor patios area. Last, but not least, they have a large menu that includes all the traditional offerings like fajitas, enchiladas and tacos. However also they grilled fish and seafood selections that were very flavorful.I wish them longevity and success."
"Tried this place this weekend and was so happy! The classic margaritas, cheese enchiladas, beef nachos and just the chips in general, were sooo tasty! Can't wait to go back!"
"So if you've been following my laundry list of foodie shenanigans, you know I highly value amazing interaction, which is why I like sitting at the bar. So today was special, I dragged my bro to the gym and after we were spent, we went for Tacos. We almost pick somewhere else, but we lucked out in a major way. The Nitty GrittyWhen we walked in it was quiet, clean, and the bar was nearly empty. I could hear the barstools beckoning us like Homer's sirens, and thus we crashed out ship upon their padded tops. Our bartender was Ashley. She was warm, welcoming, and the vibe was like when you meet that old friend you haven't seen in forever... and they just happen to be a bartender at Torchy's (no... not the free drinks kind). She hooked us up with a copy of the new secret menu (gonna say here that Tipsy Chick needs to come back). I had The Matador, and The Ace of Spades, which we came to the conclusion that when anyone orders the Ace of Spades they should sing it like Motorhead. It made the ordering so much fun. Both tacos were loaded and omg good af. You have to check out the picture. We had house Margaritas (because we earned them at the gym). All in all Ashley gave us a dining "experience" that was refreshing, kind, engaging, and all around awesome. She was the cool bean serving the awesome sauce and I will absolutely be back. I will drag Sam with me... again. Ask for Ashley. Tip her well bc she deserves it. Stay awesome."
"I drove to Johnson Space Center.I was looking for my lunch place.I found here. Here was located in a large shopping mall.It was kind hard to find. The restaurant was empty.A server came to me quickly.I found some daily special for $9.95. If you are looking for a Tex-Mex restaurant near NASA. Please visit here. Tex-Mex is very Texas cuisine."
"We've been to the other flats location and finally made it to the this location. 5 of us semi-foodies ordered a plethora of goodies and everything was very tasty. The chili on queso bowl was very good. The pechuga del mar was enjoyed by my wife, shrimp and chicken and avocado. On buddy got the platos mexicanos and she picked two cheese enchiladas with black beans. I got the chicken fried steak with white gravy, fries and a salad. I shared some of it with my son and both of us enjoyed it. One of us enjoyed a margarita on the rocks with salt on the rim. I think we decided we'll be back for more. The service was good too."
"We had a great lunch at Hiway Cantina! To start off, the complimentary chips and two kinds of salsa were delicious--obviously freshly made.We had an order of the combo beef and chicken fajitas, and both meats were excellent, very tender. The tortillas, rice, and beans that came with the meal were great as well. And both the regular house and frozen margaritas were tasty as well. The only thing I didn't like about Hiway Cantina is that they only serve three tortillas with a big order of fajitas and charge extra for more tortillas--I just don't like being nickled and dimed when I'm paying a lot for a meal already."

My first time dinning at this new location for El Tiempos. Very nice. I went in there for an early Brunch or lunch. Realized that Brunch is only served on Sundays. No biggie. I enjoyed having my little taquitos of beans and cheese and flour tortillas. Yummy. Hit the spot. Like all El Tiempos locations, this one is super nice and decorated beautifully. Staff and service was on point. I had my lunch at the bar and my Bartender was awesome. I'll definitely be back. Forks up for this El Tiempos!!

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAOk sorry, I've left plenty of one star reviews before...but man, I've never wanted to leave negative stars. If I could, I would. Years ago, this place was featured on a prominent food critic TV show. You can likely figure out which one. I won't name names because I'm going to guess they gave him the royal treatment. The place is cute. That's the most positive thing I could say. They have like 25 people working there. Not one person could be bothered to greet us at the door or give us menus (oh don't worry it gets worse). The person sitting in the back lazily waved at us and said "take that table next to window." Okay cool, whatevs. Laid back vibe, I can dig it.The old dude replenished our water, another person (a woman) brings us chips and salsa. Asks if we'd like guacamole or queso. I declined - figured whatever I was eating might come with so I just wanted to see the menu. She leaves.Another person (by my count, four) comes by, says something marginally rude about our shirts (we were in town, following our baseball team, and we were representing). But we laughed it off...And then yet ANOTHER person comes by (five!) comes and asks us how we're doing. I figured maybe they forgot to give us menus? Which like that's literally the first thing a restaurant does right? GIVES A MENU?! So I asked if we could have menus. "Oh they'll come out soon. May I start you with a drink?" We get two margaritas. So let me be clear. I'm from NYC. I've been to Houston one other time. Till today, I had nothing but great things to say about the restaurants and service industry. Everyone has been super nice and pleasant, more than happy to serve usThis place? PLEASE AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Like literally, if you are thinking of coming here, turn that car around and go A N Y W H E R E else. The margaritas?! They were Margarita flavored water. I'm like 900% certain there was no alcohol in them. And to add insult to injury?! They had the BRASS COJONES to charge us $15/piece. Get out of here. No literally. That's what we did.Oh and over an hour?! No menu. Heck, I'd have taken the lady barking specials at us as someone else described. Honestly how does this place stay on business? Because Fuy Gieri liked it like 15 years ago?! You're better off going to a game at Minute Maid, and getting the Kickin nachos with a froZen marg. I had rented a zipcar, and it was getting close to the time I had to return it. Most of all? I'm disappointed because this was the last outdoor meal (outside of a ballgame) I was going to have in Houston. NO BUENO.So to recap: if being served by rude and ineffective staff, paying $15 for watered down likely virgin margaritas, no pricing or menus readily available all to say you ate a place that a famous blond chef once upon a time ate it...this is your place.Otherwise go to a taco truck. They'll appreciate your business more.

WOWZA! This is a hidden gem! The food was all excellent and tasted handmade. Lots of options. My favorite was the chorizo queso flameado. The margaritas are made with fresh juice. Watermelon margarita was so refreshing! The staff were friendly and very attentive. Loved the decor and music. Anytime I am in town visiting family I will for sure be eating here!

I popped in here before a show at the pavilion a couple weeks ago, and I've been wanting to say something. The location and design for this restaurant is incredibly charming. From the street, I was definitely hooked by the style of the unassuming entrance leading to a small room with an elevator and stairs that came from a Dr. Seuss book.I was alone, and sat at the bar. I'm a former bartender and I can promise you; if you want to test a place, eat at the bar. You'll see and hear a lot if you aren't glued to your cell phone. My bartender was great. Had my chicken tacos came out any faster, they'd still be clucking. Good flavor, nice portions. My God, the chips and salsa were excellent. I'm sure I would have had a lot more fun if I'd tossed back a shot and a margarita. I would have given 1 more star if my chicken had a bit more char.

Had no idea this gem of a Tex Mex restaurant was just over the 290 bridge from where we live. Found out about them in a facebook promotional ad. Boy ole boy we are so glad we did. The restaurant is family owned who also owns Dario's Steakhouse and Alicia's Mexican Restaurant. As you can see in the photos the food is as good as it looks! The taco salad with fajitas meat was so delicious as the meat was tender and very flavorful. I could have used one more piece of meat. We didn't get to try anything from the bar but plan to another time. From what we could see the drinks looked very inviting. The service was so on point. The staff were very attentive and nice. We love the atmosphere hospitality and ambiance as it offers a little of everything bringing something different to the Cypress area. We need this in our life. We will definitely be back to try other items on the menu and the bar.

This restaurant is excellent, every dish I have ever had here has been very delicious. The service is friendly and fast. I highly recommend this place. I have been trying to taste as many different dishes as I can. My favorite continues to be Menudo on the weekends and the taco salads!

Good margaritas and enchiladas, along with the delicious, famous Armando's refried beans. Servers were sweet and friendly, but all fairly young and needing a little guidance.
Visit Restaurant Page"My husband loves Chili's. Other than the Dip Trio (good chips and guac), and the fried pickles (because I love pickles in general, especially fried), I am not a huge fan, but any day that he gets to order his beloved Triple Dipper for take out with Chicken Crispers, Southwestern Eggrolls, and Boneless Buffalo Wings, is a good day to him. Recently we ordered from this particular Chili's and just were not fully satisfied. The guacamole lacked salt, and they did not include any of the dipping sauces for the Triple Dipper, which just seemed kind of sad without its dipping cups. Since there are not very many Chili's to choose from in the area I'm sure that we will continue to order from this one, but hopefully next time the seasoning and the presentation will be a little more impressive. Cheers!"
"Oh Torchy's, I was so excited to welcome you to Pearland, but you have let me down today. I'm not mad, I'm disappointed *spoken in my best motherly tone*I made a point to wait a few weeks to let the hype calm down before ordering from this location. I placed an order on the app this morning for one taco (The Wrangler, my favorite). The default order time is 15 minutes. I placed the order without any issues. About 7 minutes in, the status of the order was still in progress. Perfect. At the 15 minute mark, my order was ready. Awesome! I was going to be in and out and on my way. Well what should have been a quick stop turned into an hour ordeal. When I arrived, there were not any orders in the pick up area. There were a few people waiting. I overheard a few people say they had been waiting 20-30 minutes. I figured that they're still working out the kinks since it's a new location. I patiently waited and watched the people who were there before me finally get their orders. After about 30 minutes, I noticed people who came in after me left before me. I eventually went to the cashier to check on the order. The young lady was able to look up my order in the system and radio to the kitchen to expedite my order. In the meantime, people were picking up large orders while I was still waiting on one taco. After about another 10 minutes, I asked an employee who had just dropped off food about my order and they said they would expedite it again. A few minutes later, I asked another employee who dropped off more orders to check on it. There were some apologies about the wait, but still no taco. At some point, an employee asked me my name and said that my order showed as ready and that someone must have picked it up. I have no idea if someone took my food, if they accidentally gave my food to someone else, or if they completely dropped the ball and missed my order. All I know is that the entire time I was waiting, they never called my name and I arrived right when the order was supposed to be ready.Eventually a young man said they found the ticket and said they were making my taco. I normally don't ask for extras but I was irritated and annoyed so I asked him for some chips and queso and to speak to the manager (which I never do). The manager came out immediately and apologized. I then asked the manager for chips and queso or something extra for the hour long wait. He said yes without hesitation. When they finally brought my food out, the manager apologized again and said he refunded me. He said it should take about an hour for the refund to show, but it hasn't yet. I'm guessing it will be a day or two before I get the refund. I was happy that he did that, as I wasn't expecting it. I'm kind of annoyed that I had to ask for extra food, but I'm happy that they owned the mistake and tried to make it right. Y'all know I'm a service person. Had it not been for the service recovery, this would straight up be a 1-star review. My food was tasty (as always), but I missed a meeting waiting an hour for one taco. Torchy's, your tacos may be "damn good" but the speed of your service isn't. Fix it please, and do better."
"This restaurant is a quietly hidden gem! A family-owned restaurant. Always full of customers during their open hours. Large variety of entrees to choose from. Love that they offer a variety of meats, including some that are not found in some other restaurants like lengua & tripas. Everything is so delicious and tasty! Great prices! Large plates of food! So tasty! Highly recommend!"
"I am fat, this is why.Having been warned of the portion size here, I still had to see for my self. While I have conquered my orders each and every time, it prob isnt a good thing. No clue what is in the plate, it's fatty, happiness inducing, silencing of ur chatty friends. Why do I come back, no idea how to answer that. It's so bad for you, that my friends dream of this place. Not I, just them."
"This is our neighborhood taco joint. When I'm too lazy to drive outside of our neighborhood I come here. Their tacos are very reasonably priced and super tasty.I usually can place an order over the phone and by the time I arrive it's ready. My only complaint is since they are more of a fast casual the chips and salsa are charged/not free.We usually get the Al pastor, Barbacoa and the mahi mahi fish tacos.Their orange sauce is my favorite!"
"Nice place to meet friends for an early Saturday night Tex-Mex dinner. Easy to get a booth without a reservation at 6 PM. The tortilla soup was full of chicken in a warm broth with tortilla chips. Add rice, pico and fresh avocado on the side. The chips are crisp and light. Both the green and red salsas were good. The chicken enchiladas covered with a spicy salsa verde sauce and a side of black beans were okay. The chicken fajitas were a hit. No room for dessert, but nice to end the meal with a pralines. Parking is so easy in the strip center parking lot. Dinner was $60 for 4."
"My cousin and I spent the day out and about and enroute home we stopped by Valencia's Tex Mex Garage. The restaurant wasn't crowded for a Friday night so we had the opportunity to chill on the patio. We had eaten just a few hours earlier so we really only wanted to snack, drink and laugh. To our surprise, the nachos was delicious paired with our drinks. I had the Don Julio jumbo margarita and I could see the liquor floating on the top and bottom on my glass. We ordered the combo nachos to share and they hit the spot so good we ordered a second plate. Anyway, the service, food, vibe 4 stars."
"So good!!! We typically get the boiled seafood feast which is around $100 but we'll worth it for 2-3 people. This time around our lobster was half undercooked but everything else was good. The stuffed pork chop was enjoyed by numerous family members and the premium sampler appetizer is hands down a must order because is has a little bit of everything. We had a very large party for a graduation and there was only one waitress tending to half of the restaurant so wait time was a bit slow but overall not too bad."
"So found this place using google and with the number of reviews and 4.4 stars figure cannot go wrong. So first they offered warm chips to go with warm salsa. Instantly in love. The chips were not greasy like other places. Salsa had an excellent kick, I downed three of the little bowls. I would come back just for chips & salsa. I had the chicken Diablo. I enjoyed it very much and the beans and rice seemed authentic. Wifey had the chicken soup and since it looked very delicious i tried that too. Definitely delicious and being very picky about my soup I would definitely order for myself. The waiter was awesome! As an example since my wife arrived 10mins after I did he brought her a fresh iced tea since it looked watered down.Anyway will definitely return!"
"There's no such thing as "too much" Tony's!! I've been coming to this place for a few years now and it is aways such a great experience. The food is authentic, flavorful and fresh, the staff here is super friendly and knowledgeable. I love their Live Band Nights as well. Such a family friendly vibe! I've tried a lot of their menu items, but my fav dish is their BBQ Brisket Quesadilla! Soooo tasty! Their drinks... ohhh man, their drinks are superb!!! Their house margarita is fantastic! I have never had a bad experience here EVER! Totally worth a visit! Have a pretty nice Happy Hour too!"
"This review is based on a single weeknight visit during Happy Hour. Yay!I usually don't think that cheaper means better, but tacos, tostadas and other handheld Tex-Mex treats can be had here for merely a song during the early evening hours. And the food is actually good! (Red salsa served warm, and that's a no-no in my book. But most people like it, so you're probably in luck.)The beer and other drinks were also flowing at much-discounted prices. Bottom line: When you can grab some legitimate eats and drinks for the same price as the drive-thru mega burger chain down the street, it's a no-brainer."
"For Pete's sake, I'd rather not do this review. But Roger Daltrey wanted to see it so here it goes.I'm not a fan of Fajita Pete's, and I've only been here once, and it was because Barbie's family dragged us here. Several of her family members live in or near Garden Oaks and they know all the restaurants here, and I have to say I don't think the selection is too great in this particular neighbourhood, but it's not bad and so we go here (or elsewhere in the same area) to eat with them sometimes, and this is one of the less enjoyable meals we had. It's pretty standard Tex-Mex but I prefer Chacho's and that's 24 hours so I'll stick with what I love. But the service here was good."
"We almost missed a great evening! Luckily we had a friend who's band was playing, so we went anyway! We are super glad we did!The reviews were all over the board here, and it's known for being expensive. It is expensive for meals, and inexpensive for draft domestics. I can find a way to be happy! However, the plates were all very large, and easily justified the prices! Every single one of us had to take a doggie bag, and promise you... I can eat a LOT! We had the burger, because almost every review said it was outstanding! It was... and it was HUGE! A half-pound burger, cooked to order, tons of toppings, and they offer you an egg on top... can you beat that? NOPE! The wife had the extra crispy fries, and she's a fry snob, and was super happy. The man himself, Guadalaharry even helped wait on our table (and was constantly checking on every table in the restaurant). He recommended the nacho's and to add chili (nice upsell)! It was HUGE AMOUNTS OF FOOD! 3 of us couldn't finish it! and it was delicious!! Highly recommend! Our waitress was on point, and never skipped a beat! Pro Tip: Split the dishes, order more beer!We then moved our table out to the deck, enjoyed the evening breeze after the sun went down, and really enjoyed the band!5 STARS! Get in here, and have a great time!"
"My visits to Torchy's are always consistently good and this location was no exception. Lots of parking in the lot. Service was quick and friendly. The queso and tacos were great as always."
"Love this Gringos location. This location does tend to get busy so I'd recommend getting on the wait list. It's pretty spacious inside but it's usually always busy here! My go to order would be the trio fajitas which consists of beef, chicken, shrimp! It comes with the fajita sides of cheese, guac, pico, grilled onions, sour cream, choice of beans, and rice. Fajita meat here is very juicy and filled with flavor. My appetizer order would be the cantina nachos with ground meat w extra cheese no beans.Gringos is probs my favorite Tex-Mex restaurant!"
"This is a fantastic Tex-Mex restaurant! My favorite meal here so far is the blackened red fish, which I haven't tasted better anywhere else. Don't let the unassuming outside of this restaurant fool you because inside, they really know how to cook great food! Came here for lunch during the work day and heard word of mouth rave reviews about their redfish before so I had to try it. The staff greeted us and let us pick out our own table. They immediately brought out our drinks and took our order which was served up rather quick! This means a lot during the middle of a work day that there's no long wait time for lunch. We ordered the fried mushrooms appetizer with a homemade style Ranch dressing. The mushrooms were deep fried and cooked perfectly without being too greasy or too heavy of a focus on the fried crust. Next came the blackened red fish which was served with a type of fried rice and also a side basket of fries. *Fish can be either really good or really bad and thankfully this restaurant makes fantastic redfish that taste like it just came out of the water. The Cajun black and seasoning was not over salty or overwhelming and complemented the filet of redfish really well! The rice was a nice addition to the fish and the fries are always just fun to eat! The staff was super friendly and really personable. They work hard to make sure that you have a nice dining experience and they definitely kept up their end of the bargain! The restaurant is welcoming and what you would expect from a Texas diner. The tables are kept very clean and it was a really enjoyable experience. A definite two big thumbs up! The food quality, the price, the staff and the overall dining experience was really really enjoyable! I highly recommend if you got time to stop in here and grab yourself fantastic piece of blackend red fish!"
"Consistently good service and great fresh authentic Mexican food. This neighborhood gem is one of our favorite go to places.Chips and salsa are always fresh. Street beef tacos are the bomb and my favorite beef tacos Al carbon. Refried beans and Mexican rice are like my mom's. Great authentic Mexican food, always consistent and always offer great service. I highly recommend El Rancho!!"
"Worth the wait! TX Cheese Steak was loaded, great heat and bread was toasted to perfection. Dirty Red Chili was no joke, great flavor and climbing heat. Great customer service, professional and fast. Can't wait to try more!"
"Why 4 stars? Because the entire experience was very pleasant. --- --- ---It seems there is a Tex-Mex restaurant every 1/2 mile that you travel in this area, but we love the food, so we are happy to try every last one of them! El Chaparro is one of the newer additions to the area and when we were in the area, we decided to pop in for lunch. As we usually do, the wife and I ordered chips & queso, as well as a combo fajitas for two. We had the option of ordering white queso or yellow queso. We went with white, but wished we had ordered yellow. Not that we didn't like the white queso, but the flavor was just a tick off from what we were hoping for.The fajitas were excellent. It's hard to say where exactly they rank amongst the competition, but they are definitely on the higher end. The rice and beans that accompanied were just okay, if I'm being honest. But the best part about our experience was the service. From the hostess to the server to the manager, the people here were about as nice and accommodating as one could imagine. We would absolutely return again just for the hospitality (and the margarita flight when we are child-less)."
"We had dinner here last night and it was fantastic! We wanted to grab dinner closer to home, so I'm glad Mi Tierra popped up on yelp. Hubby ordered the house margarita to start. We got the ceviche mixto and the queso to start. The white queso was delish, I couldn't stop eating it! It paired well with the salsa that was served. The ceviche had lots of seafood and was really good! Highly recommend. For our entrees, we got the carne asada enchiladas and the mole chicken. Hubby really enjoyed his enchiladas. The meat was so tender and flavorful. He was raving about the rice. It's usually an afterthought for him, but he ate every single kernel. I'm a sucker for mole, so that's what prompted us to go in the first place. The mole was soooo good. I used my corn tortillas to soak up as much as I could! The flavor was spot on. They're currently still in their soft opening, but the restaurant was spacious and the service was really good. I'm looking forward to being back soon since it will be a staple in the neighborhood. Come check them out and show them some love y'all!"
"If you say Maria, I say NONNAIf you say Tacos, I say DO YOU WANNA?If you say you wanna, I say I'm GONNAAnd if you say where, it's TACO CABANA!Hotter than summer, and I don't mean DONNAThese Tacos are so good, you'll slap your MOMMAIf you want a boy, I'll be your CABANACome for Tacos at Tacos CABANA!Oh crap I think I just doubled rhymed CABANAWHATIt's Tex Mex food, and it's cheap, and it's honestly about 5 levels above Taco Bell, so that's a huge plus, much like the flag of Switzerland. They have good fajita/beef meat here, they make pretty damn good food, and they would easiily have qualified for the fourth star (and Barbi loves it too), if the service was just a little better and if they didn't keep forgetting things."
"Uberrito is by far the superior burrito chain. I love the wide array of toppings and salsa they offer for their burritos and bowls. Everything is always fresh and healthy. One of my favorite places for a quick lunch."
"Fajitas are okay, chicken was better than the beef. Beans and rice were awful and tasteless. The chips tasted like bad oil, but the queso was decent. My to go order was 20 min late but the guy up front was apologetic. This location needs some work, won't be back."
