El Chaparro Mexican Bar & Grill The Woodlands

I get that it was Cinco de Mayo and so it was super busy on top of a normal Friday night, but my cousin having her rehearsal dinner in a private dining room shouldn't have a dinner service that was supposed to start at 7:30 end up having guests eat entrees starting at 8:45. That's WAY too long for people just to munch on some tortilla chips. And there were children in the crowd who were getting anxious and hungry.That said, I think the combo beef and chicken fajitas were the best entree I ate. The shrimp tacos were eh. I combined both dishes to sort of make a "surf and turf" fajita. The strip steak was particularly tasty though. I also liked the tres leches cake, though the slice was huge.

El Chaparro is one of the great Mexican restaurants, fabulous bar, food is always fantastic. Only problem I have...being 74 years young and having some balance issues, that curb one has to step on and off of makes me park quite a ways away just to get to a ramp to walk up. I've been known to ask a waiter to walk out there and let me hold onto him before I step off that curb! Anyway, I still go there because of the food and fantastic wait staff!!!

Great restaurant. Food is excellent and prices are fair!!! Nice atmosphere! I'm a regular there!

With SO many places offering Mexican food in the woodlands (dozens of places). There are a few dozen places I would recommend before this one. If your car in the are , you break down and you can't get an Uber, don't feel like walking to other Mexican places that are very close and in walking distance. If I would would recommend Kroger, subway, Jack in the Box or Papa John's that are all in the same shopping vented. If you do decide to eat at El Chaparroz, I hope yo have a delicious meal and good service and let please lee know.Thank you,Dan

2nd time trying. The first time was just okay. The service was good but the food was not my favorite. I Just have a hard time getting on board with this meat gravy stuff. So this time I wanted to try the same dish(enchiladas ) without meat gravy. This time I opted for the poblano cream sauce. It was delicious. Chips and salsa Also hit home. Will be back to try some more of the menu.

Why 4 stars? Because the entire experience was very pleasant. --- --- ---It seems there is a Tex-Mex restaurant every 1/2 mile that you travel in this area, but we love the food, so we are happy to try every last one of them! El Chaparro is one of the newer additions to the area and when we were in the area, we decided to pop in for lunch.As we usually do, the wife and I ordered chips & queso, as well as a combo fajitas for two. We had the option of ordering white queso or yellow queso. We went with white, but wished we had ordered yellow. Not that we didn't like the white queso, but the flavor was just a tick off from what we were hoping for.The fajitas were excellent. It's hard to say where exactly they rank amongst the competition, but they are definitely on the higher end. The rice and beans that accompanied were just okay, if I'm being honest.But the best part about our experience was the service. From the hostess to the server to the manager, the people here were about as nice and accommodating as one could imagine. We would absolutely return again just for the hospitality (and the margarita flight when we are child-less).

This place is WAY underrated. The steak fajitas are the best I've ever had. Asada is perfectly seasoned and juicy. Veggies are crisp and nicely charred. Sides are great. Love the beans and rice. And a plus, They have a great kids menu with Mexican dishes and also the standard kids food stuff. Service is always excellent here.

The food was incredible, had Darlyn as a waitress and she was so polite and considerate of our table. I ordered the Chapachanga and couldn't put it down until it was finished. Coming from Arizona, no place around has the ability to give me the taste of authentic Mexican than El Chaparro.

All around great. Our server was attentive, refilling drinks and chips often. Our order was taken efficiently and the food arrived quickly. All the meals were flavorful, fairly sized, and satisfying. As a vegetarian I had many options as the menu offers a wide variety suited to accommodate all diners. No complaints. Will definitely be back!

A surprise drop in visit.. both me and my wife wanted a light snack.. mixed Fajitas for one with double charos were spot one perfect!! More than enough to share!! And the charo beans are some of the best I've had recently! Service was spot on and ambience was great! My new favorite when in the area! Worth a visit!
