Food tasted fresh. Service was good.My only suggestion would be to include a little morespice to up the flavor profile of the Tortilla soup.

My first visit. The service was not polished. The atmosphere seems like a work in progress. But I'm giving 5 stars because the food was very good. I liked the freshness and seasoning of my mixed fajitas - not overly salty like some of those chain restaurants.I'm giving 5 stars because I want to encourage others to support this restaurant/small business. There aren't many good ones like this in the area.I will return.

We decided on a whim to try Mi Tierra on a Tuesday night. We were the only people in the restaurant, which was cool - we got seated immediately. Service was super friendly. The restaurant was very very clean. The food was the sticking point for me. The queso was really watery, tough to get from the bowl to the mouth without dribbling everywhere. The salsa that came with it, however, was a fantastic dark smoked salsa that I would have bought and brought home.I got the cheese enchiladas with refried black beans. While the pico de gallo was fresh and the guac was solid, the beans were underseasoned and the enchiladas felt like cheese rollups baked in tomato sauce. They could have used a TON more seasoning. One more upside - the drinks were pretty good. The Mexican martini was balanced, and the house margarita had plenty of citrus.

This establishment displays promise, yet it possesses the potential for greatness through a nuanced application of seasoning. My inclination to revisit stems from the desire to explore alternative offerings on the menu. My selection, the three-cheese enchiladas, showcased a commendable commitment to authentic ingredients, notably employing genuine cheese--a rarity in certain Tex-Mex establishments. The mole-infused gravy, though tangy, manifested a regrettable fusion with the corn tortillas, resulting in a rather dry amalgamation rather than the desired succulence. The portion size, regrettably, fell short when juxtaposed with other Tex-Mex counterparts. The rice, characterized by its fluffiness, and the commendable beans offered solace amidst culinary nuances. The service, while exemplary at the bar, introduced a degree of perplexity as a waitress, rather than the bartender, took my order. Constructive feedback was conveyed to the bartender, a delightful personality whose radiance was evident. It was elucidated that her role extended to training the hostess in light of the establishment's novelty. The ambiance, characterized by its simplistic and modern aesthetics, captivated my admiration. The interior design exuded coziness, rendering it a potentially suitable setting for an intimate rendezvous. Despite these intricacies, my eagerness to return stems from an aspirational exploration of the diverse menu offerings that beckon further exploration.

So we decided to try the new Mi Tierra kitchen that is over by our house in our neighborhood in Oak Forest. It's really cute inside. They have it cleaned up really nice. They have a happy hour. I think that last until seven I'm not sure. LSo the food is more true Mexican. Not so much Tex-Mex. my husband had the El Rancho platter which had a beef chili, Relleno and a beef taco on it. The meat in the Relleno and the taco was more of a pulled beef not a ground beef. The flavor was really good. The beans they use are mainly black beans. He did get the pinto beans. I had the grilled fajita burrito. Chicken. It was a very good size. Lots of chicken in it. Had rice and onions, jalapeños, and some beans inside. It came with a side of beans and rice. I got the refried beans and it turned out. They were refried black beans. the rice didn't have a lot of flavor but when you mixed it with the beans. It was really good. The service was very good. The manager came over a couple of times and the waitstaff - Kate and Mary - stayed right on top of making sure that our tea was filled and making sure everything was good. So service was excellent. They have a lot of different kinds of food like octopus and duck. I think the prices might be a little expensive, but that's just me. All in all good experience. I may give them another try.

I didn't have reservations and there was no wait on a Friday evening. They give you complementary chips and salsa. They have plenty of vegetarian options and options for kids as well. The spinach enchiladas were delicious. The jalapeño spicy margarita was not the best. Server was funny and nice. They do have a happy hour and private room for parties! Will be back.

We had dinner here last night and it was fantastic! We wanted to grab dinner closer to home, so I'm glad Mi Tierra popped up on yelp. Hubby ordered the house margarita to start. We got the ceviche mixto and the queso to start. The white queso was delish, I couldn't stop eating it! It paired well with the salsa that was served. The ceviche had lots of seafood and was really good! Highly recommend. For our entrees, we got the carne asada enchiladas and the mole chicken. Hubby really enjoyed his enchiladas. The meat was so tender and flavorful. He was raving about the rice. It's usually an afterthought for him, but he ate every single kernel. I'm a sucker for mole, so that's what prompted us to go in the first place. The mole was soooo good. I used my corn tortillas to soak up as much as I could! The flavor was spot on. They're currently still in their soft opening, but the restaurant was spacious and the service was really good. I'm looking forward to being back soon since it will be a staple in the neighborhood. Come check them out and show them some love y'all!

I tried Mi Tierra with friends for lunch, and we thought it was good, though not our favorite Mexican food. The restaurant is cute, and the service is nice. Most of the food we tried was a little meh, except I thought the el pastor tacos were pretty good, and the salsa that came with the chips was very fresh. I also tried a frozen margarita--it was super, super sweet, and I only got to drink about half of it because it was SO frozen. My friend said the enchiladas were just OK.

WOW! All I can say is WOW! I had the opportunity to eat here with Eric Sandler of Houston Culture Map. IYKYK. This was his recommendation. I showed up first in the group and I had to text everyone and ask if I was at the right spot. The area is shady, but up and coming. Burglar bars lined the strip mall and the restaurant as well. Eric assured me that I was at the correct spot. When you walk in, it's like you are in a whole different experience than the outside. Extremely polished inside. The chairs and tables are really cute and they also have a bar area. Clean, mega clean! We ordered the ceviche (so amazing), the mushroom queso flameado (another WIN). And I ordered the cheese enchiladas. The rice, beans, enchiladas, everything was on point! Not to mention the service. I know they weren't going the extra mile because we were with Eric, in fact I don't even think the server knew who Eric was. Later on the owners came to the table to make sure all was okay, and of course it was. DO NOT pass up this spot. Don't judge the area like I did, just go in and enjoy! Trust me!
