"Delicious food and great service! I just finished a satisfying Easter Sunday lunch here that consisted of "chicken" tenders, greens, Mac n cheese, and dirty rice. The tenders where juicy on the inside and nice & crispy on the outside. Dipped them & the Buffalo and special sauces and it couldn't get any better. Even without sauce the tenders were seasoned to perfection. The vegan mac n cheese was also SO good. Tasted very cheesy & creamy. The dirty rice was the perfect texture and seasoned just right with all the right herbs and spices. I can't decide if l liked the Mac n cheese or dirty rice better. The greens were also quite good, with a good balance of sugar, salt & vinegar. Had the hibiscus limeade to wash it all down which was very thirst quenching with just the right amount of sweetness. My friend had the fish (oyster mushroom), Mac n cheese and French toast and loved her food as well. The service was great bc the young lady who helped us was super friendly and took her time to answer any and all questions we had and to make great recommendations. I also found out from her that the Jank sauce owner lives in my hometown. Looking forward to purchasing the sauce so I can try it out the next time I visit my local HEB. Thanks for the delicious Easter Sunday meal Lindiana! I'll be back and will bring my friend with me whenever she's in town. Will also bring others your way as well! Great food, great experience. 5 stars!"
"Ate here before the Taylor Swift concert on Sunday and had a feast. Small parking lot but we were able to easily get a spot. It's a fun vibe inside with animal friendly artwork and nice plants as decor. We went during their brunch hours but I was happy to find we didn't have to order brunch. You order at the counter, they give you a number and bring your food out to you. The service was good. All of the employees were kind and helpful. My friend and I shared the lasagna, buffalo wings with fries, asada tacos, Mac n cheese and fried okra. Everything was delicious. My friend's fave was the tacos. I'm not really sure which of the plates was my fave. They were all pretty good to me. At the end of our meal, I also got a scoop of their soft serve ice cream and added chocolate and strawberry syrup and cookie crumbles to it. It was a nice way to end the meal. It was 25 cents to add each syrup, 75 to add the cookie crumbles. The only thing that was a little weird was the inconsistency of the silverware. My friend got a fork and knife in her silverware roll. I only got a fork and had to go to the counter to ask for a knife as well. They had to look through a few rolls of silverware to get me one with a knife so the silverware seemed to be a little disorganized. However, the young man at the register quickly got me what I needed. I also have to add, it was freezing in there for about the first 20 minutes that I was there, and it seemed like you were under an air vent pretty much anywhere you sat. Luckily they turned the air off for much of my visit but I did notice they cut it back on shortly before I left and as I was eating my ice cream so I was an icicle when I walked out of there. This would be a great place to escape the htown summer heat though. Overall great food, service and ambiance. I look forward to returning."

"In SoCal, there's tons of options for dairy-free, and I was worried I'd have to make a cake myself at home. Thank goodness a place like this exists in Houston! This was exactly what I needed for my little one's 2nd birthday. We got an Chocolate & Vanilla ice cream cake, which is made from a coconut base. It was so pretty and delicious! We've also tried their beanie bars and super muffins. The price is a little up there but the quality is there. With all the food allergies in kids these days, this place is a diamond in the rough. Thank you for existing so our kids and all of those with food allergies can eat what everyone else eats for once / on their birthdays at the very least! I would for sure be back more often if it were closer."
"Okay, let me just put this out there, that I love food and especially trying new things. Now that we got that out the way... let me tell you about this bomb a** food we experienced yesterday! Herban Frequency is a gem and utter delight! All plant based, no frying (air frying yeap) and the greeting upon arrival was all that! So dang good we sat in the whip (ride) and ate, none of the food hubby and I ordered made it home lol. And with good reason. I've not tried "vegan" food before out of habit of my norm -- but being that I love food and trying new dishes/cuisines; the hubby wanted vegan and I went on a hunt out of support, not knowing I'd be feeling this way about... well... dang... food Don't cheat yourself, your palate or vessel to an experience as this one! We'll be back, there's more to try!"
"Let me tell you, I had every intention of trying a new restaurant today, but couldn't bring myself to it because a specific Latini craving was calling my name.We all have our favorites, and for me, growing up all over the states, Green Seed Vegan does now and has always felt like my soft place to land here in Houston. From the company that frequents this spot to the way the sun shines to illuminate the shiny seats and delicious, nutritious food, this intimate spot just feels like home...and I'm not even vegan. The cauliflower nuggets with sauce and Latini panini are decedent and packed with flavor, while the Zen panini offers a fresh slightly spicy punch to the tastebud. Although there are my picks, I'm sure you can't go wrong with any menu item. I personally love seeing the representation of the versatile food offerings within our diaspora, and this spot always does it in a way that showcases the bold flavors that make our meals so enjoyable. While you may encounter a wait for your meal (my last 2 visits I've waited atleast 15 minutes for my meal to arrive, even when I was the only one in the restaurant), and it's certainly not cheap (2 paninis and cauliflower nuggets ran me just under $40) the food is worth it!"
"Best Chinese vegan buffet! Everything is super flavorful and fresh even though they do not use garlic or onion in their cooking. Loved the sushi, the tofu, the veggies, and the fresh soy milk."
"Wow!! Everything here is delicious and made with love indeed. A small little store that sells raw and dehydrated goods, mostly vegan (some things have honey-- ask!). They let you sample pretty much everything :D They have a good variety of raw cookies, crackers, kale chips, salads, kombucha, raw fudge, raw pies etc. Try the Geez-Its! They are raw dehydrated cheez its made of cashews mostly. OMG they are so addictive and amazing. A little pricey at $8 a bag, but worth the indulgence. They aren't processed crap so they actually fill you up nicely after a few crackers (: When you come for the first time they let you have a free sample of their raw pies. I had the pumpkin pie which was SO good. Then I bought the strawberry cheesecake which was heavenly! All cashew based and amazing. I recommend buying the tiny mini pies because raw desserts can be really filling. They make their own Kombucha for only $3 a bottle! Much cheaper than at a store. The Ginger Pear kombucha is so good. The pieces of raw ginger are still in it!!FYI this is not really a sit down restaurant- just buy things to go!! The service was amazing too. Super-friendly and welcoming staff. Check it out if you are into raw/vegan foods."
"My family and I are such big fans of Local Table. We dine there all the time (specifically the Cypress location); but we were stoked to learn about the GOOF location. If you never dined a Local Table, I highly rec' it. Everyone in your group should find something to their liking on the menu: burgers, salads, pasta salads, pastas, pizzas, hot dinner plates (like gyro plates), and a solid brunch. My go-to is usually the lemon pasta or the Mediterranean salmon. For starters, get the cast iron goat cheese, cast iron spinach artichoke dip, and blue crab cakes. Seasonal cocktails are fun, and do try the frose. There's patio seating, a private dining room, bar seating, plenty of parking... Enjoy!"
"Trendy vegan has a very earthy feeling to it. The wooden benches, the art on the wall, everything sets a vegan - plant friendly vibe. Something in the ambiance connects you to a simpler, more appealing time. For the first time I was looking at a buffet outside of Indian food, and with everything vegan, it couldn't get more inviting....The buffet is priced at $16.50 per adult and $8.50 per child, but there is an ala cart menu too if you wish to eat something specific. The spread is pretty good, while most have the base in tofu, or soy or oats, the texture and the variety still captured my interest and the flavors gave them their individuality. It should be noted that the carbs in the form of steamed rice, or brown rice, or even noodles, come saltless , the salt content is obtained from the various side dishes. There was tofu nuggets, spring rolls, sautéed brinjal, stirred fried vegetables, roasted tofu etc., to name a few. It would have been helpful if they had put up little labels with names as reference. Enjoyed the food while listening to the soft incomprehensible Chinese music that was playing. It was soothing and added to the good food mood, which itself was light and healthy. Staff is very sweet especially if they know that you hold the wallet- jus kidding, limited staff but nice staff. Something on the menu but not part of the buffet is their smoothies, vegan thai tea and dumplings etc., which I definitely hope to try next time. There is definitely going to be a next time."
"The food and service here has been consistent since they first opened. I am always greeted immediately and asked if I need any help. My first visit, one of the staff members showed me how things work. I love the premade rolls and always try something new and packed with flavor. Lately, I've been ordering Poke bowls via the app, which is super user friendly. I love the sushi platters and look forward to having an event so that I can order one!"
"Stopped by because I was craving some Indian food and got excited that they had a lunch buffet! The variety was kind of limited in regards to non vegetarian items. When arriving, another couple had just finished and I was the only one there. Service was super nice nonetheless. Food was good but as others have said, it's not as bold due to perhaps they are trying to cater to a certain crowd. The food wasn't horrible but definitely can use more flavor."
"A lot of vegan restaurants are gimmicky, so I often approach these sorts of places with pessimism. But Mantra was a nice change of pace as the menu, while justifiably pricey due to the quality of ingredients used, was tasty and clearly technique-driven. They undoubtedly use the best meat substitutes, and our meal featured some fun surprises. We did visit fairly early in their development, thus while the interior was what I would call urban minimalist, there was a great deal of construction outside that made for a fairly ugly view. There was only one front-of-house employee, but he did a wonderful job explaining everything and serving us. My thoughts on our meal:Coconut Calamari - A dish that blew my mind and is an absolute must if you dine here. The taste is indistinguishable from the squid counterpart, though of course the texture can't quite compare. I wish the pieces were a little on the larger side. K-Seoul Pizza - gluten-free crust with vegan mozzarella, sauteed mushrooms, and a syrupy sauce that was tangy, fruity, and spicy. A fragrant and fresh tasting delight, though part of me wishes it was less saucy. The Lioness - a Lions mane crab cake sandwich of sorts. If you've never had this particular shroom, it's super meaty in texture and really tasty. The flavors were there, but I found the actually patty too thin and the gluten-free bun a tad too chewy. The thick-cut fries were well seasoned and fluffy. Overall, probably would try something else instead of paying $18 for this dish again."

How is this place not ranked in the top 3 vegan restaurants in Houston? For the seriously soulful vegan, this is where you have to go and try these delicious delectables, I have a few names below. First look at the menu, was like I will have one of these one of those and one of those as well. The list could go on, even though this was my first time trying this restaurant. I will say that vibe here is some what informal however the team is super friendly and nice! So my order was comprised of the followingCollard greens : cooked and seasoned wellMac & Cheese : creamy and flavorful Barbecue Wings : battered fried and tossed Boudin rice balls : yummy Fried Catfish : texture and flavor was greatBattered Shrimp: how can these not be realYum Sauce: this can be married to anythingPineapple Lemonade: didn't quite hit the spot, so this was my least flavored itemNevertheless, I refuse to go into the detailed goodness of the each and every dish, because each of these I would eat again and this review would be ridiculously long and because after it's gone, all that I am left with are the unbelievable memories of taste. I have no negative comments on the food whatsoever. The facility is a little dated, however the quality and quantity of what arrives from that kitchen brings you back home. I will definitely be making this a home of mine in my search of Vegan cooking in the area. Please forgive me for almost leaving out the sauce that compliments pretty much anything they cook. Until the next time, Bye-Bye!

I took my daughter for Sunday brunch after church. The food was fabulous. There was many vegan options to chose from. We loved being able to sit and eat in the enclosed patio, their was a d j who came and played music. The service was outstanding and they anticipated all our needs. The restaurant his located in a central location, though the parking is tight. I will be returning. I almost forgot there was a great layout for selfies.

Stumbled upon this place and read gluten free, plant base, and allergy friendly.....whaaaaa!?!? So, I gladly made my way in!Super small and cute inside but there is seating outside for you to enjoy your tasty treats!By far the mint chocolate and the olive oil chocolate were my favorite! Okay okay, I didn't try all the flavors but once I got to taste these two I quickly ordered a scoop of each. I am not a straight chocolate girl but for me to have loved the olive oil one says a lot! My sister ordered the lavender Earl grey and that was tasty also. They do have pints to go and I so wished I had purchased them because it isn't close to my house. They have the best gluten free donuts! Moist and delicious! We got the lemon raspberry and cookies n cream. My sister and I are both mom's and I just had a newborn, so we brought the donuts home to share with our husband's and completly forgot about them till the next day...haha mom brain! But even though we consumed it the next day it was still soft and moist! Have I sold you yet??!!?!? Definitely telling my friends to go and figuring out how I'm coming back with 2 kids under 2 because just that alone is a challenge =p

I was across the street at the food truck festival and because I'm fasting, I was excited to see Green Seed Vegan right across the street. I walked over, because we had already parked, and went in to order a juice. The parking lot is pretty small even though they have a good amount of outdoor and indoor seating for patrons. So you'd have to find street parking on a busy day. There were 2 patrons outside and 3 inside when I got there. The cashier came out and welcomed me, which was different than what some of the other reviews were saying so I was happy about that. I had tons of questions and he patiently answered all of them. He suggested I get the pina verde ($10 per bottle) as it had no added sugars and was perfect for someone fasting. He was right!!! The juice was delicious but not sure if I'd ever pay $10 again for an average size bottle of juice, healthy or not. I do plan on coming back to try the food.

This place had some seriously tasty vegan Chinese food! I was impressed and I love that they have a buffet, I will definitely have to try it out next time I come here. The only thing is that the service was well....interesting. But even the sesame chicken was divine and heavenly. I loved their rice noodles too, a great place for a vegan or even those who want to try vegan food to come to!

Pat Greer's is one of my favorite places to get lunch, especially when I'm eating as clean as possible. I've never actually been there and have only ordered through UberEats or purchased items at the farmer's market. I usually order the brussels sprouts salad and the buddha bowl. They both come with a dressing but honestly I've never tried them. The food is all delicious on it's own without the dressing in my opinion! If you haven't tried PG, you need to! It'll inspire you to eat healthier...haha!

Early October, my friend and I stopped here for a mid-afternoon brunch after a trip to Pasadena. Since it's close to my house, figured I'd check this spot out and see what people are raving about. We got seated outside and had attentive service. It was a bit loud with people next door playing cornhole and going crazy with college football happening. Guess they can't let people eat in peace.Anyways, brunch drinks are always a staple with a meal so I went with a red sangria while my friend got the strawberry spritz. Both are sweet (but not too sweet) and have a hint of carbonation from the soda water to make the drinks go down easy. For eats, I decided on the smoked salmon avocado toast w/ scrambled eggs while my friend ordered the french omelette sandwich. Both dishes came with herb-roasted new potatoes and a persian cucumber dill salad. The potatoes and salad were awesome especially the salad, I could've ordered just a large side of that and I'd be happy. The salmon and avocado on the toast had good flavor although eating it was a bit difficult as the toast kept falling apart; it might've been the weight of the eggs added to it. Still good though. My friend loved her omelette sandwich which she claimed was one of the better ones she's eaten. Overall, we were happy with our choices. The menu also has appetizers, burgers, sandwiches, wraps/tacos, and entrees such as salmon, pasta, grilled chicken, and kabobs. The drink menu contains several cocktails such as a cucumber martini and a whiskey peach cocktail which I'll need to try next time. Brunch is your typical hours (Saturday & Sunday). They have several locations in the Houston area and all their ingredients and food items are locally sourced which you can tell from the flavors and scents as you walk in. Quite welcoming!Look forward to trying other items here and glad this is in my neck of the woods!

"Only had the panang curry here for lunch but it was good! The curry was thick and had a decent amount of green beans. I wish the portion size were a little larger even for a lunch portion, but all in all delicious. Excellent service as well :)"
"Very filling salad bowls! I've been to Farro several times now, and it always hits the spot. My usual order is the Keto Bowl. What stands out to me the most here is the chicken, which they typically give a generous amount of.My only complaint is the price - while you do get a lot of food, it is more expensive than some of the other lunch spots offering similar items in downtown Houston. For how filling it is and the amount of protein included, however, I will continue to be back every once in a while."
"After a few to-go meals here I've come to the conclusion that I'll keep it in periodic rotation. So far only one dish as really got me comin' back, those cauliflower wings, darn good!!OK to GOOD- cauliflower rice, a nice alt for white or brown.- portion sizes vary in my experience.- the food is AT LEAST good overall.NOT SO GOOD- at least 1 dish really laving much to be desired in terms of portion & taste. - ranch for the wings isn't always full."
"Vibe- Not going to lie, this spot is in a random strip center that might turn you off (it was a different food spot before and Taste of Tel Aviv is not yet up) but the food is worth it and so is the customer service. From the conversation I had with the guy that took my order, they have been open for a little amount of time. I was very intrigued by the pictures of Israel on the wall. The name of the restaurant has a city in Israel in it, Tel Avia! Customer service- Amazing, the guy that took my order was so nice. Food/drinks- I got the vegan nachos and the falafel starter; they were both full of flavor.Parking- There's about 40 parking spots in the lot."
"I was extremely impressed with the food and the service. I will definitely be back. Fresh taste and excellent flavor combinations."
"OK all I was super impressed about this new location for Cinnaholic! Grand opening day, and I still receive my order timely and correctly with no hiccups. Shout out to all the new employees who have bless this location in the neighborhood because we have all been waiting on it. I stuck with what I know, and got the very berry roll, which came out fresh not undercooked not over cooked the ingredients were fresh, and I am not sure if this is a good thing or not, but I scarfed it down so quickly it was gone before I made it past the light by Amazon. I highly recommend you give them a shot and also put your phone number in for rewards because I have already received a five dollar reward for my next visit. Happy eating!!"
"So happy & excited to see new all Vegan joints pop up! My wife and I really enjoyed the food!-BBQ plate with dirty rice & mac'n cheese**I am not much of a dirty rice fan, but PV about changed that, lol, so good! & one of the best mac'n cheese's we've had! -King Mushroom Poboy Nice options available, def keeping our eye out to see other items hit the menu!COVID Notes -Outdoor dining available.-The order was effortless, quick, & accurate.-Excellent customer service; masks were required, staff wore masks and gloves.-No issues at all.Thank you, Planet Vegan, for the fantastic options and being vegan!"
"I visited on an overcast day but I could imagine this spot truly shines in the sunlight. This intimate cozy nook is punctuated by concentrated warm light, brick accents, deep wood tones, blissful tunes, and friendly people. What a win for Spring! I was greeted with a smile and a window display of sweet treats (including an ube cupcake). Everything I ordered arrived hot, fresh, and smelling delicious. The peppermint tea was peppermint tea, the Philly cheesesteak was flavorful. Could the "meat" pass for meat or the "cheese" pass for cheese, no. Does it matter, no. This lighter, flavorful take is a pretty impressive way to consume vegetables and I'm all for it. While the ube cupcake was a little denser than I'd prefer, the frosting was amazing, and I'm excited to try their other varieties. I'm so happy these folks are planted here! Excited to see them continue to blossom!"
"This place always serves really fresh & warm food. It stays busy but the wait time isn't outrageous. Ample parking in their lot and across the street. The restaurant is right across from Emancipation Park. Their food definitely makes your soul feel good and guilt free. Lots of options to choose from. Some of my favorite dishes are their BBQ mushrooms, boudain balls, mac, & collard greens. You really can't go wrong with anything here. They also have desserts sometimes as well as smoothies and juices. Kids meals available for the little ones. Staff is always friendly and helpful. There is space to sit indoors as well as outside when it's warmer but it is a small intimate space. Great place overall. 1000 out of 10 recommend if you're in Houston and looking for some quality vegan comfort food."
"I have eaten at the restaurant on OST. And this is their new location. The restaurant is clean in a up and coming and newly renovated part of town.Black owned business, so if ur in the mood for a healthy food experience.Look no further for the taste and experience of a health nuts dream.Stay safe and be good to someone else. Happy fooding"
"Tonight my daughter and I went and got an order of a burrito and a variety of street tacos. The food was fresh, and tasted excellent.I was impressed with the excellent customer service. We went close to closing and was served with no hesitation and the staff was very kind. The best part of the experience was that today is taco Tuesday and the food was reasonably priced. We will be returning. This is one of the best vegan experiences that I had in a long time. The restaurant was playing music and I just enjoyed the atmosphere."
"There's only 4 restaurants in all of Houston that serves 'do chay' or Buddhism vegetarian - this is one of them and the worst of all 4. It used to not be bad but has gone downhill. My favorite from here are family style meals (where you get different entrees and big bowl of rice to share among many family members/friends). My to go are salted fried tofu and Thai style soup. Individual meals has gone downhill. Do not get their fried rice, unless you like mushy rice. Don't bother with their rice plates, vermicelli, or pan fried noodles. Everything is mushy and flavorless. Their vegetarian fish sauce is mainly of sugar and water. Hot tea barely has any tea leaves; you're essentially drinking hot water with a hint of tea. Extremely disappointed how this restaurant has become. It look like they recently tried to update their walls but meh, there's 3 other restaurants. I have noticed these past few months that they're only busy when one of four do chay restaurants are closed. Otherwise, they rarely have customers as before. If you're still willing to give this restaurant a try, just remember you pay at the register when you're done!"
"This is second time coming to this vegan restaurant! I like the vibe of this place and it reminds me of modern Mexican place due to the paintings and decorations of the restaurant! There are some amazing options available but I like the nachos the best because of the great quantity and quality as well! Price is $11.50 and they give you content amount if you don't get an extra side dish like beans and guacamole as they cost additional $0.50. It's nice place to dine with your family and friends. It depends on their business but they can occupy about 40 people inside and 10 on the outside. Come for those who wanna eat good vegan Mexican foods! Lovely vegan service! :)Cheers"
"My wife brought me a cookie today from Crumbville that she got at work. Admittedly, I am not a person who likes to eat foods that I am not sure where they came from. She told me the cookie was delicious so I trusted her judgment and took a bite of the butter pecan cookie. It was absolutely amazing. The cookie itself is flavorful and moist. Almost like biting into a mix of a cookie/piece of cake. I love the bits of candy pecans inside of the cookie and I cannot wait to order more delicious treats from this business. Add to that it is black, female owned!I will be going to spend all my money here soon."
"I love this place so much! I come all the time! Omg! I would LIVE in the food truck if I could! I'd highly recommend trying this is the best vegan food in Houston, literally! The best tasting healthiest food options you'll come across by food truck and store front location has nice snack options too! The cooks are nice, staff is professional and the owners are so cute! It's a great vibe wherever you can catch them at! They've fed me consistently this whole pandemic and I'm glad I found this hidden gem because they never let me down! It's a rest way for people who are transitioning to becoming vegan to start off and keep good flavors and texture of food going in their lives!"
"Jody did a great job for my custom GF vegan chocolate bday cake. She can do almost any design and custom makes the cake to whatever you want. You can pick up or get delivered. All of my friends didn't notice it was vegan or GF and devoured it!!! It was so good and the vegan buttercream was awesome Will be coming here for all future cake inquiries and sending all my friends Jody's way!! Excited for a continuous relationship with Jody."
"Let me start off by saying Houston did not disappoint, This is a ghost kitchen and it is also some amazing sushi not just vegan sushi, but sushi. I suggest you order before you come as this is a ghost kitchen and it does take time to make your food. Our order took about 45 minutes. And I Could care less about the wait time once I ate my sushi, it was all worth it. A lot of love and prep goes into the sushi and I didn't realize how much I miss Sushi until now. The only negative thing I can say is that I didn't make it back here before I left Houston so now I have to wait to have it again. A1 - top tier and five star sushi, fresh, delicate , beautiful, flavorful, intricate, and appetizing. I am going to make this one of my first stops when I get back to Houston. I would have had more pictures but my friends ate their food way too fast . We all thoroughly enjoyed the food. I'll be back so that I can try the entire menu"
"I visited Doshi House for the first time last weekend. I wasn't familiar with this place until my Yelp friend Pree suggested it. I can always count on her to introduce me to vegetarian/vegan places around town. Parking is a tad confusing but we realized you can park in the small lot up front or on the street (there's plenty of street parking). It appears that the lot is also shared with Project Row Houses so read the signs before you park. The inside is cute and cozy. The tables are spaced pretty close together, but there's a good amount of seating inside. There's also a back patio with more seating. I ordered the Just Egg and Potato taco. It was really good. I've never had Just Egg before, but it tasted like regular eggs. The chimichurri was very flavorful and I enjoyed the cilantro and diced onion. I just wish the taco would have been bigger. One taco was $5. I had the Sunset Tonic which was refreshing, especially since it was a warm day. I love coffee, but was in the mood for something different.Doshi House really focuses on community engagement and outreach. They also seem to be a place for artists and creatives. I really enjoyed the vibe!"
"As a veg head for many years and coming down south, I am alwaysSo sad to not eat the wonderful smelling bbq that is available because it is meat - until I found this all vegan truck in Houston. HFS was it good!!! I mean like I want to lick the box good. I got one meal and then order something different because when you find something this good, you need to try more stuff especially if you are not from around here. The menu is all plant based and so flavorful. The smell made be drool. The staff was friendly and the food came fast and hot. Everything had the perfect amount of heat and flavor. I am hoping to hit this place one more time before heading back home to Ohio. Coolest part was that they were with other food trucks so my meat eating family could get both plant base food and meat."
"As versatile and as popular the neighborhood of Montrose is, it has always been limited in the Asian food arena, in particular Vietnamese fare. Enter Lúa Viet, which has quickly become an destination for many folks looking for a modern approach to the cuisine. There's a lot of good things here, so I'll start with some positives::: It's beautiful: The space is probably the most appealing thing, at least to me. It's bright with a lot of contemporary pieces that give off a casual vibe but also a tinge of sophistication. They've done an excellent job with the layout and designed it in a way where it's thoughtful and spacious. Whether it's the outdoor seating, a solo meal, or a group gathering, it's all possible here.:: Vegan / vegetarian options: I may not be vegan, but I appreciate it when there is an extensive list of dishes that are geared to the non-meaty palate. :: The parking lot: parking is a way of life in H-Town and to have a dedicated space with numerous spots is a luxury that is not common in this part of town. And the things I don't love so much::: For the most part, the food was a bust. It didn't speak to me the same way it has for many others and this is after coming here a handful of times and ordering something different each time. There is a certain essence of flavors, from the nuoc mam to the ingredients, and I wasn't getting it the same way that I would in other more traditional places in Bellaire.I was not very excited with their signature Lúa VIet pho ga, or pho bo and was really not feeling their mi xao or hu tieu. I think the bo luc lac was probably the best dish I had in there, but that was just from the tender chunks of meat. The bun vermicelli, cha gio, and many of the plant based versions were bland. I had to go a little harder on the seasoning to get it down.:: The prices. $16 noodle soup bowls? $17 stir fried dishes? I know the rent in the hood is not cheap and the usage of their fresher ingredients might justify the prices but foodflation is not on my side when the food is not my bag.:: Ordering format: I don't mind the somewhat unconventional format of ordering at the front, certainly this format exists in many fast casual places. However, I feel like the staff isn't particularly jazzed to take the order. Two instances felt like my group and I were inconveniencing the staff member for ordering so much. Not a deal breaker but far from a highlight. At the end of the day, I feel they answer a certain demand that exists in this part of town. However, it doesn't really align with my tastebuds or wallet as much as I would like and I hope that changes one day."
"DELICIOUS!!! Pricey, but worth it once in a while. If I am not mistaken, I bougth some of the cinnamon rolls a few years ago from a woman who was a Cottage Cook. I told her she needed a brick and mortar place. Now, they are all over thanks to her baking talent and the show SHARK TANK. The stores are really quaint and so cute. One is being built in Round Rock so I get to take youngest Grandson (13) soon. If you haven't tried the Rolls you are missing a great treat!"
"Came in for the first time on a Saturday for brunch. The place does not take reservations for parties less than 6 people. So we just showed up and waited a bit for a table. The place actually isn't very large. Inside is nice and cozy. There seems to be more outside seating than in.Service - Derrick was nice enough. He said all the things we ordered were the most popular items, so he didn't have any additional insight on the best things to eat. He also declined to share about the origins of the business, but did point us to some signage on the wall about the owners. Food - we ordered cauliflower wings - buffalo sauce for the table. Just the right amount of kick. I think the breading may need some work, but overall, solid. Next, I got Hot Honey Shrooms & Waffle. It's literally the same as their Chi'ken Fried Shrooms and Waffle. Except it has the hot honey on the side. The shrooms were a little salty for my taste on their own. But paired well when eating the waffle and shrooms in the same bite together, the sweet and salt balanced out. Love supporting Black owned business, they seem to be doing well"
"Everything you eat here is like touching gold. I have not had a bad dish in the last eight times. I have eaten here. In my opinion! The falafel is to die for. Mike is such a nice manager. He always takes care of us. Jack is the best bartender on the planet and makes the best old-fashioned you'll ever have. The mimosas are outstanding. As are the cucumber martinis. So refreshing on a very hot day. Go try it. You will not be remiss. So let's get this straight. Great location? Great service? Great food? Always a fun time? Rock solid five out of five!"
