"Was told Taste + Kitchen Bar was very good from locals. It was absolutely a good time for sure! The hostess sat us down, downstairs with very good music and a nice bar. It was very private and intimate with a nice ambiance. The food and drinks were good! For my drink I ordered the popular patron watermelon margarita that was very tasty and I don't even like watermelon like that. For my food I ordered the smothered chicken with greens, yams, and rice. The food was def bomb with the perfect seasoning. I tried some of my friends Mac & Cheese and that was good too! I recommend to get this entree it fills you up most of the day. Our server was very sweet and amicable! She was very welcoming and continued to check if we needed anything. However, I did not quite care for the photos that they take since I'm sure they knew we weren't from there. They charge you for the photos and don't let you take it on your phone. They put it in a frame and Eve thing cute idea, but not everyone will be willing to pay. It is what it is though! Despite that situation, it was a wonderful time with great food and ambiance. I recommend here for brunch! It's a vibe I'll for sure come back visiting Houston! Parking is street parking that you have to scan and pay. -Marshay D."
"We all decided to see how many ways chicken salad can be made....12 according to the menu boards. I enjoyed the classic on a crescent roll that did not make the cut, I'm deducting a star for the stale crescent roll, the girls loved the Olivia's old south salad, with sweet pickles and eggs, I got a taste and it was very good. My wife got a cup of poblano soup and our d in law got the loaded baked tater soup, also 5 stars. I felll off the keto bandwagon with a rice krispy treat on steroids.....very tasty. All three meals also had a nice little frosted cookie and a pickle spear. We'll be back for more....like tomorrow."

"Love, love, love this food stand at the Post. There's always a long line, but it's worth the wait. The food comes out fairly quickly and hot.I went with a friend visiting from Portland who wanted to order all the sides. We had ordered a few different things from the other food places in the food court area. Out of the sides, the collard greens were my fave. It wasn't vinegary. The broth it was marinated in was sooo good with the braised meat. It is on the soupier side. The greens weren't bitter. This is the best collard greens I've had. I could've eaten a bowl of this as a soup. The only thing missing is maybe adding some heat as an option. The Nashville hot chicken was perfectly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. I like how they use a thigh for dark meat. It's so juicy and flavorful. It's also topped with the kale kimchi slaw to add some acidity. The buttered Texas toast is a nice touch but can be difficult to eat since everything falls out. The fries are crispy and seasoned well.Aside from ChopnBlok (my other Post fave), Lea Jane's is definitely a staple when you come here!"
"Good food, service, price and decor. Bathroom was clean. Price better than most equivalent restaurants. Not good for large groups. We had to sit in multiple booths. One shortcoming. They put these stunningly delicious and addictive type of a croissant on the table. If you don't use a great deal of restraint, you will become too full to eat your meal."
"I came to lunch here with a friend recently. It was almost exactly in between both of our offices. We arrived a little after it opened and ordered a good spread to share. As far as meats got the brisket and sausage initially. Because they had just opened the ribs were not ready yet. Half way through the meal I went back up to the counter to order them as they were now ready. The brisket was dry, the sausage was mediocre (like store bought), the ribs was the best part. They came wet, I usually prefer a dry rub.As far as the sides we got the mac and cheese, potatoes, and brussel sprouts. The potatoes and Brussels sprouts were my fav the mac and cheese was meh."
"So glad we came here to eat! So good in fact we are taking our leftovers 6hrs back home to OKC. This place is located next to a gas station. There is a small area to dine in for about 15 ppl or so. It s cute decor. We were greeted enthusiastically when we walked through the door. The gentleman was polite as well as the cashier when we asked questions about how to order. There are items that are ready on the hot line. There are things that are cooked to order. You better have your butt in line by 6:53 so you can be sure to get your cooked to order in before 7pm! We made it by the skin of our teeth, by time we made it to the counter it was 7:01 but the gentleman said since we were in line by 7 we could still order. We all had to know what we wanted so he could quickly call it back to the cook before they shut the kitchen down. It must be pretty serious cuz a guy behind us was getting loud with the staff about them not letting him order cook to order all week for walking in at 7pm! I was like uh oh . I got Cajun fried chicken with Mac and cheese and yams. Mom got fried catfish and shrimp with greens. The meals came with cornbread. The chicken was fried hard like it should be and was crispy and delicious . I ordered 2 of these and requested all flats. The honored the request a best they could, so one plate was all flats, and the other was 2 flats and 3 drums , no big deal! The yams...bussin, the macaroni and cheese...bussin. The cornbread was soft and sweet. The shrimp was good! I didn't taste the greens or fried catfish;that was mom's order. I also ordered a jerk lamb chop al la cart. Since we got the right before they stopped with cook to order the grill was already off so I was refunded my $11 for that. We were given complementary dessert just because. We opted for peach cobbler and cheesecake. That cobbler was so freaking good! It had lots of crust like it like it, and it was just the right amount of sweet! The cheesecake was covered with strawberry topping. It was good. The cheesecake can stand alone with out the topping. Again the service and food was amazing. Definitely recommend."
"In the mood for some good catfish, tried to go to another restaurant, which was closed, and I'm glad it was because it made me look up another place which turned out to be delicious! The catfish was seasoned well and fried hard, just the way I like it! The okra and tomatoes are a must try...also very tasty and flavorful!Servicers were on point; very attentive, friendly, and awesome. This cute spot is high up on my regular rotation list. Yum!!"
"I found this on yelp, the 5 stars intrigued me. I pulled up and met Mr Skip. A very funny guy, who aided me through picking something good to eat. Customer service is spot on. The cornbread was fluffy, so light and buttery and melts in your mouth. The turkey necks were really good. Cabbage and Mac were solid. I will definitely be back to get something different. The specials change daily and they also have standing menu items. I plan on returning soon. This was a really good dinner. The inside is very clean and it seems like this place is fairly new. Or renovated. It's nicely setup inside."
"Found this place on Yelp and ratings looked great so we decided to check it out. My father ordered the three meat plate Brisket, Sausage and Ribs. I ordered the fully loaded baked potato. Let me tell you the size of the plates were huge! Especially for the price it was great! The food was so delicious. Literally the best BBQ I have had anywhere. This place is a hidden gem! The meat was literally falling apart it was so tender. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone the food is amazing! The place is so cute as well. They have outside seating with a little covered area. Great place to take family and they also serve beer. Like I said this place is great and the food is the best for BBQ that I have ever tasted and I have ate a ton of BBQ places and this is the best in my opinion so far. Will definitely be going back great prices and delicious food."
"I hate to be the first four-star review but I have to be honest about my assessments and concerns. Getting to the point, the food is delicious. It was nice to get a home-away-from-home cooked meal. Evelyn was so kind to let us sample many of the options. They were all displayed like a buffet but you can only choose one main entree and two sides. You also get a side of cornbread with your meal. I was able to taste the smoked turkey, chicken and dumplings, corn and a bit more. My friends and I were hooked in. All of the menu offerings were written on the chalkboard but what compelled me to reduce the rating to four stars was due to the lack of signage for the pricing. I wish I had taken a photo so you could see what I mean. I made some assumptions, unfortunately. I assumed that every entree was priced the same. If it weren't, why wouldn't the pricing be posted? How would I know that the oxtails would be much more than the chicken and dumplings or the steak?? I didn't ask because I assumed no matter what I got, would be under $20. I only had so much cash on me. I was far from home and had left my debit card in my other purse and had no idea my bank wasn't anywhere close to this town. After she fixed our plate with generous portions, I had my $20 bill in hand ready to pay. She told us to go ahead and eat first. That may have been smart because after we had dug in and was nice and full, it was too late to change our minds after learning the cost of the bill.A nice lady on staff asked us what we wanted to drink, I said water. It's my usual. I prefer to eat my calories than drink them. Again, I assumed she was going to bring us a cup with water in it but instead she brought us each a bottled water. I was so immersed in my meal that I didn't speak up and say, "Oh no thank you. I thought you were going to bring cups of water." I just let it go. When it was time to pay, I was shocked when she said that my bill was $27.01. To my horror, I only had $26 and a penny in my purse. If my friend hadn't been there to give me a dollar, I would have been jacked! It was so embarrassing. I usually pay with a card so that never happens. My friends' steak and chicken and dumplings also with the bottled waters didn't cost as much as mine. Had I known the oxtails were going to end up being $27, I would have made a lessor choice. I've only ordered oxtails from Jamaican/Caribbean restaurants and never paid that much. I just paused to look up the menu of a Caribbean restaurant in California and even post pandemic the price is $16.95 for an ox tails plate. Why did she ask us what hotel we were staying at before she rung us up? It made me wonder if the locals paid a different price. Why didn't i remember to ask for a receipt?? I usually do but forgot this time. I must have still been shook.I was sad that all my cash on hand was gone that I couldn't even leave a tip for their wonderful service. Now that I live in Texas, I need to work on my Texan accent. Maybe that would have helped. Not making assumptions definitely would have helped me out too. Oh well. You live and learn.I bless them and this business and pray they continue to prosper."
"The husband and I decided to come here last night and we are so glad we did! When you walk you, there's a sign telling you to seat yourself, so we did. I do not recall our server's name, but we had a couple of different people stop by while we were there and they were all so helpful! For starters, I ordered the Southern Old Fashioned, it was really good and just what I needed to warm my innards on a chilly night. Husband got the Midnight Mule, and he commented how good it was and it really gave him a buzz (maybe because it was strong, maybe because he hadn't eaten since breakfast, or maybe both?).We were going to get appy's, but our server did state they are all large portions, so we skipped it sine it was just the two of us. For my entree, I ordered the Tuscan Chicken. It was so tasty with fresh veggies, goat cheese and a terrific lemon butter sauce. Husband ordered the chicken blackened fettuccine and he really enjoyed it, although he felt it needed 4 pieces of garlic bread, not 2. He did request more and our server gladly obliged. Our entrees came out super fast, which was awesome! We did also get the banana pudding for dessert, which was really tasty but a bit difficult to get out of the big mason jar.Overall, this was a great meal and we are looking forward to coming back."
"Thank god for Killen's in Woodland! No need to drive over an hour at their other location and wait in line to get some delicious BBQ. I came here with one other person for lunch. We ended up just sharing a 3 meat plate of brisket, pulled pork, and sausage. It came with two sides so we got coleslaw and Mac n cheese. Everything was good. I love that they gave you two thick slices of brisket. I wish they gave us more pulled pork though. But everything was delicious, cooked perfectly, and had lots of flavor. Our meal also came with pickles, onions, jalapeños and two slices of toast. For sauces, they offer their tangy, sweet, and coffee BBQ sauce. My favorites are the tangy and coffee, but tangy is the best one in my opinion. Our 3 meat plate with 2 sides was around $25. I'm not sure why some people on here complaining about price. I didn't think that was bad at all. If you want a full rack of ribs its $43. But lots of meats. The inside of this place is super casual but clean. You can see what you are ordering and you pay first. They will bring it out to you when it is ready. Parking is easy since they have their own private lot. I cannot wait to come back when we are visiting."

Taste Kitchen + Bar is such a VIBE! Perfect for brunch or dinner, date nights, girls nights, etc. The guy sitting next to my friend and I even had his laptop out.If you looked them up already, I know their waffles caught your eye and that is exactly what I ordered. Half with chocolate chip and half with fruit. It was delicious! I loved their beverage options as well. Strawberry orange juice, fresh squeezed lemonade and orange juice. Mix them together and they'll serve you a "sunrise." Service was on POINT! I wasn't feeling the best this day and lost my voice, our waiter was patient and made sure I had tea and honey the entire time.If you're looking for a spot with good food, music, drinks and service, Taste Kitchen + Bar is your SPOT!

A cute lunch spot for delicious chicken salad. You can order a scoop or a sandwich for a meal with a side and pickle. I opted for the broccoli side with a fancy Nancy chicken salad sandwich on a croissant. I would say it was probably the smallest croissant sandwich I've ever had. The croissant itself was relatively small, and the amount of chicken salad they scooped was not that much, but the perfect amount for the sandwich itself. The broccoli salad was ok but it was on the sweet side. I would've opted it to be savory. Seems like there are already quite a bit of sweet options. I also ordered a few bags of chips but they didn't have the flavor I wanted. Kind of disappointing for a sandwich shop. Quick service, clean place and convenient location.

Got the spicy chicken waffle cone, it was amazing! The macaroni and cheese was very cheesy and paired well with the chicken bites that were tender and spicy. The waffle cone was crispy and there was a slight sweetness in it that balanced out the savory flavors of the chicken and mac and cheese. Price was very reasonable for a food hall too!

Can't say enough of how much I love this development, plenty of parking available and outdoor seating an play area for families. The dining room is big and has some fun art work and windows to the outside and the kitchen. There's a big offset smoker right up for us to marvel at as well. This whole plaza has really great food concepts. Walk up order counter with a chalkboard sign that has daily happy hour specials as well. The cashier gave us some tips on what are some of the best sellers thankfully. Got the brisket, pork ribs, and mild and paprika sausage as proteins. Went with the Brussel sprouts, cornbread, and French fries for sides. Unfortunately the bbq here does not keep up with the BBQ Renaissance that Houston has enjoyed over the last 5 years. To be fair, the smoke flavor is present in all the meats, and is very well represented and not overpowering. The brisket is lacking any moisture, very lean cut (which some like) that just had no fat to give it that beefy unctuousness. The pork ribs we got were on the smaller side and dried out as well, some came off the bone too easily and some didn't want to come off at all. The sausage was the best of the group, but nothing I'm coming back for. Sides were good! Crispy Brussels. Really tasty cornbread served with a honey butter that really elevates it even more. Super crunchy fries with plenty of seasoning. The frozen margarita was aslo well dressed and a nice happy hour add on for $5. My biggest gripe is the pickle bar; GET RID OF THE BREAD&BUTTER PICKLES! This is the biggest sin in Texas BBQ.

This was my first time trying this place out and I have a love hate relationship with it so far. I'll start with the love. Flavor! The food was very good, fresh, and just all around delicious! I got the chicken, greens, boudin egg roll, and mac and cheese! My favorite was the egg roll but all of it was phenomenal! The service was ok, nothing special to sway my opinion either way. Now the bad. Soul food restaurants are notorious for being out of things, for whatever reason and this place is no different. But there's just some things I think you should always have, especially at 3pm on a Tuesday. Yams (this to me is a staple and should be OVERSTOCKED), crawfish egg rolls (no biggie), peach cobbler (again a staple), cream cake, and one other dessert was all out. If this was a Friday night at 6 pm I'd be understanding but man, middle of business hours on a Tuesday I don't know. But hey the food was very good, ambience and service was meh. Take it to go and you'll be happy! Ready to go back and hopefully they've got everything on the menu in stock

"Friend held a Christmas party here and had a good time. Very nice indoor/outdoor covered venue with stage for live band. Friendly service for a large group.Food was really good, tried both seafood and chicken/sausage gumbo...this time I enjoyed the latter more bc of the spice. And really creamy mac & cheese."
"This place has been a 5 Star place since I walked in !!! Best Country Cooking in the Houston Area !!! The staff is so friendly, the atmosphere is relaxed, and the service is great. From mom (world traveler), to her daughter in law (owner and hard working woman), to Rhonda (cashier), and all the waitresses, thanks for always taking care of us with that Texas Hospitality !!! WARNING - The later you come the less choices you'll have. They only cook so much of each item. But there is plenty of choices if you get there early."
"How many different ways can I eat boudin...? Today, 3! HUGE boudin egg rolls, Boudin Burger with crawfish potato salad, and their newest item not even on the menu yet... Stuffed Boudin Wings all washed down with brown sugar lemonade and finished with some homemade bread pudding. We even got gumbo to-go for dinner. Y'all... run here fast! Owner was super nice and said they are opening a BBQ Smokehouse next door. Can't wait!"
"I ordered the catfish dinner and it was delicious. Perfectly crispy and the Mac and cheese was creamy and perfectly seasoned! Would recommend!!"
"Customer Service superb and food was even better. Smoked oxtail were the best I've ever tasted, collard green seasoned to the T and yams"
"It's a really, really good thing that I ordered more than crawfish, because if I was judging this place by the crawfish alone, I'm not sure if I'd give them a second chance.I understand that it's near the end of the season, so the crawfish are going to be a little on the smaller end. No judgment there except that I noticed there were two huge crawfish at the top of the bag, almost like they're added to trick you into thinking that there are other large ones scattered throughout the boil. There aren't.The worst offense with the crawfish was that they were DRY and tasted like they were old, reheated leftovers. I've gotten crawfish from 6 other places this season, and never once from any other place did I see gills that were brown and dry. If these had been crawfish at a buffet, I would have left them. The green mussels, on the other hand, were some of the best I've had. I requested their house special combo flavor with extra juice and no spice (spice haters, be warned that the dry cajun seasoning does have moderate spice in it). The boil liquid was so good that I wanted to drink it, and my husband was joking about me taking shots of it from the mussel shells. If you like mussels, these are not to be missed. There are a lot of them in the 1 lb increments that they're sold in, and the price is fair for how much meat they have.I also ordered the cajun pasta for my husband. It had a really great combination of flavors, and came with a cup of etouffe that was on par with other excellent ones I've tried in the past.Overall, I would absolutely go back for the mussels and other boil items, and to try other things on the menu. I just don't think I'll order their crawfish again."
"I can't speak much about the food but I can speak about how much fun this place is! I had so much fun during my first visit I decided to go back the next day to watch a bit of the game. They have indoor and outdoor seating! This place is good for solo outings or group outings. From security to the DJ to the waitress everyone was high energy. Our waitress, Muffin. Was so much fun! She is a full vibe all her own! She's funny, profession/ honest, and all around great at what she does! We went in strangers and walked out friends. If I'm ever in the Houston area again I'm definitely going back to Belle."
"Backstory: It's the last Sunday of October. My friend needed me to pick him up instead of Ubering/Lyfting with the proposition of brunch as a reward. Of course I took him up on his offer since you never turn down free meals/drinks. And since he really wanted to try this spot, we ended up here.Multiple reviews claim this is a hidden gem and they couldn't be more accurate in their claim. It's a small venue with a coffee shop-like interior (minus the cozy sofas and lounge chairs) containing several tables and booths for seating. May not be appealing on the inside but the smell of grease, coffee, and jam as you walk in will compel you to stick around and order.Upon being seated and receiving some H20s, coffee, and orange juice, I decided on the Brisket benedict w/ potatoes and my friend ordered the Southern Breakfast (dog eggs, pancakes, pork sausage, and grits). We also got a side of chorizo and extra biscuits for both of us. The portions are quite large (typical of Texas) so we couldn't finish everything but did the best we could. First, those biscuits, OMFG!!!!! Fluffy, buttery, great texture, slap some of that butter/jam mixture on top and you'll want to slap someone. Might be the best biscuits I've had in Houston so far. The brisket benedict had a nice amount of brisket that was lean and tender; pierce that egg and mix it with the brisket and hollandaise over the biscuit platform gives a savory rich bite every time. My friend enjoyed the grits they served, not too runny and seasoned well. The pancakes were also rich and savory as well with some syrup and add that butter/jam mix to it. We probably didn't need to order chorizo since we we're stuffed from everything else but I added some to the benedict (and he added some to the grits) and it takes the dishes to another level! If you're in the Spring area, you've got to check this place out. Aside from brunch/breakfast ,they have a keto menu and lunch items (burgers, sandwiches, wings, entrees, salads) if you're not in the mood for breakfast/brunch. But let's face it, breakfast is what they are known for and they kill it here!"
"Delicious food and great service! I just finished a satisfying Easter Sunday lunch here that consisted of "chicken" tenders, greens, Mac n cheese, and dirty rice. The tenders where juicy on the inside and nice & crispy on the outside. Dipped them & the Buffalo and special sauces and it couldn't get any better. Even without sauce the tenders were seasoned to perfection. The vegan mac n cheese was also SO good. Tasted very cheesy & creamy. The dirty rice was the perfect texture and seasoned just right with all the right herbs and spices. I can't decide if l liked the Mac n cheese or dirty rice better. The greens were also quite good, with a good balance of sugar, salt & vinegar. Had the hibiscus limeade to wash it all down which was very thirst quenching with just the right amount of sweetness. My friend had the fish (oyster mushroom), Mac n cheese and French toast and loved her food as well. The service was great bc the young lady who helped us was super friendly and took her time to answer any and all questions we had and to make great recommendations. I also found out from her that the Jank sauce owner lives in my hometown. Looking forward to purchasing the sauce so I can try it out the next time I visit my local HEB. Thanks for the delicious Easter Sunday meal Lindiana! I'll be back and will bring my friend with me whenever she's in town. Will also bring others your way as well! Great food, great experience. 5 stars!"
"At first, my mom and I were a bit hesitant on whether to try this place. We were visiting Houston for doctors appointments and this place is down the street from our hotel. When we walked in we were immediately greeted and helped! My mom ended up getting some breakfast tacos and I got the one meat plate with Turkey and Mac and cheese and broccoli. For the price, you get a good portion of food. Personally I wish they had a bit more sides to choose from but the ones that they do have are very good. The Turkey was also very delicious! It's not the BEST bbq I have ever had while living in Texas but it was very good and I would go back!"
"I had absolutely no idea this Gus was located here! I was driving by looking for breakfast when I came across this location. It was right at their opening time so I went in. I was one of the first few customers so the place was pretty empty but clean with some music playing in the background. The staff immediately greeted me and asked if I was doing dine in or take out. I placed my togo order for their 4 piece special for my friend and I got 3 pieces for me. I didn't need too much. For my sides I got their mac & cheese and collard greens with a sweet tea. These are definitely my goto meals on a Sunday. It was a bit of a wait but it was definitely worth it. By the time I drove home and got into the apartment, the food was still hot! A+The chicken was so crispy and seasoned well. It had a lovely crunch to it, as well as a medium spice. Not too spicy but just right! The meat was so juicy that we cleaned the bones. I definitely enjoyed the collard greens and added some hot sauce to my liking. The mac & cheese was nice and cheesy. It just needed slight salt & pepper, for me. Nonetheless I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. I did try my friend's potato salad but it was a bit too sweet & unusual for me. Gus will be seeing me again!"
"From Katy to Stafford to try out a newer spot. We were trying to figure out where to go but everyone opened at 4 that we were interested in going to and we needed a early lunch. Then we came across B Yvonnes in Stafford. It's located in a shopping strip and had plenty parking at this time. The have a inside area and patio. We were greeted by Tae. It was her 2nd day, but you couldn't tell. She was awesome. Chef Ron himself took our order and thoroughly explained the food options. He even gave samples of the Kool aid of the day which was awesome. So we had the catfish opelesues with shrimp...the catfish and shrimp basket..and these amazing eggrolls with turkey, Mac, and greens on the inside. All of the food was great, but the customer service took it over the top! Oh almost forgot about the peach cobbler...it was on point....ALL THE CRUST. So if in the area.. give them a try!!!"
"Visited with a local relative that hadn't been here for some time. First time and I thought why haven't I been here yet?!We arrived on a Wednesday around 12:45 and we got lucky as there was a short line. Order, pay and find a table. They were providing Brisket samples which was a nice touch. I could have just stood there and ate the samples all day-wow!We ordered one meat and two meat combo plates. Both had Brisket and one with the Spicy Peppercorn sausage. Brisket was amazing! Perfect smoke and tender.I usually get Jalapeño Cheddar sausage but decided to go with the Peppercorn. Good decision-just right spicy/salty-delicious! Sides were Corn Pudding, Tater Tot Casserole, Brussel Sprouts, and Mac & Cheese. All delicious with the Corn and Sprouts standing out.Service was quick (kept the line moving) and friendly. On Bon Appetit's Top 8 Houston BBQ spots as well a few other lists. Definitely lives up to the hype!"
"Our server, was very attentive. And got our order just right. The server who brought our food out was also great! Our food was cooked perfectly, and everything tasted great. Our only issue was our table had crumbs left on it and it took awhile to get our order in. Not a big big deal, just explaining our experience. Check out was easy, and all the staff was on point and courteous.I love the store as well. It has all kinds of small gifts. I ended up purchasing a few items for gifts. The store itself gives you the country home feel, it would be hard not to find something of interest in the store."
"You can't hate on Slims chickens at all. I prefer Slims over canes anyday. This fast food chicken place offers wraps, tenders, salads and wings! They have many flavors to choose from regarding wings and sauces! I got a 5 & 5 tender/wings combo that includes fries for only $14. Their Parmesan cheese or cayenne ranch flavors are my personal favorite. They also have dessert jars here!!"
"My friend and I needed food after having a few drinks at The Davenport. Luckily, J. Henry's is practically next door. It literally took less than a minute to drive over. When we arrived, it wasn't busy at all. It was open seating so we grabbed a booth, and the bartender came over quickly to take our drink order. I wasn't sure what I wanted so I told the bartender the types of beers that I like and he suggested the Altstadt Kolsch. It was really good and smooth! My friend had the 3 Nations Blue Raspberry Sucker Punch. They have 51 beers on draft and most of them are from Texas breweries. You can also purchase growlers: 64 oz. for $10 or 32 oz. for $7 plus the cost of beer. The food didn't take long at all to be brought out to us. My friend had the coconut shrimp. She subbed the fries with mashed potatoes. I ordered the herb crusted salmon. It was seasoned well, but was a tad salty. The flavors were delicious though. The veggies (carrots, squash, zucchini, asparagus) were prepared al dente and were very flavorful. I really enjoyed my meal!"
"We had a fantastic lunch at Late August! The restaurant is pretty (located in that relatively new development near the Sears); the service is great; and the food is what puts it over the top. The food is a combination of Southern with some creole and is just delicious. Here's what we tried:-Cornbread: The bring out complementary cornbread, with a butter that has corn and peppers in it, and it was great--a wonderful start to a good, southern meal.-Field pea hummus: Our table shared the hummus as an appetizer, and it was absolutely fantastic, my favorite part of the meal. The hummus was a little tangy and so savory and topped with chorizo. On the side there was fried bread, which is exactly what it sounds like: bread that is fried and a little doughy, so good.-Gumbo: This gumbo was surprisingly fresh--the veggies in it were crispy (not smooshy), and it wasn't greasy at all. If you want a fresh, modern take on gumbo, this hits the spot."
"Great small family spot great food just like in Mom's house. We really enjoyed it and will return for the oxtails."
"Ohh what a night (actually afternoon) at Brennan's this past Saturday (final Saturday in Jan.2024) for my friends 55th Birthday. She reserved the Chefs table for us and we had a TIME from start to finish. I'll start from entry, this location put you in the feel of NOLA via the look and location. The staff has great southern hospitality, very welcoming and the bar area is very open air and bright just like I like outlooking the NOLA themed courtyard. The journey to our table from the bar to the chef table was visual and fun as we walked through the kitchen and wine cellars and more. The chefs and all kitchen personnel were amazing from start to finish as they explained and perfectly plated each course we indulged in while providing history and suggestions on pairings. The food was amazing from the summer shrimp salad to the Scallop and grits to the lobster bisque to the blacken red fish and all the many desserts.I will be back to Brennan's for sure and I suggest you check them out."
"While exploring downtown after moving into the area, we happened upon Pacific Yard House and stopped in to have a beer and an appetizer. The craft beer selection wasn't bad and we tried something new as we are new to Texas craft beer. We also ordered the Beer Cheese and Pretzels; House made Shiner bock beer cheese served with deep fried pretzels tossed in sea salt. The most awesome pretzels we have ever had! Right then, we knew we had found a great place. We returned with friends to listen to some live music and try out some of their entrees. I ordered the Smoke House Burger: A beef patty with melted mixed cheese, pulled pork, fried onion, bourbon glaze, and fried jalapeno chips. This was an awesome burger as were the onion rings! Big and full of flavor, I really enjoyed my meal! My wife went with the Bourbon Glazed Salmon: Bourbon marinated salmon served on a bed of rice and basted with bourbon glaze. My wife said that this was some of the best pieces of salmon she had ever had. The service as good we the hostess Coco was outstanding! Fun to chat with and a wealth of knowledge about this restaurant. I highly recommend trying out Pacific Yard House if you are new to the area and want some great food, good drinks in a great atmosphere."
"Tried the food for the 1st time today. I tried the oxtail, Mac and cheese, candied yams, banana pudding and peach cobbler. My husband tried the spaghetti, greens and cabbage. Mannnn! It was like eating at your grandma's house! She did that! Her oxtail were tender and very flavorful. They tasted great. The yams were off the chain! The Mac and cheese didn't have a Cheddar cheese taste but whatever type of cheese she uses, it works. The Mac and cheese tasted great! I don't have words for how great the peach cobbler was. It was so flakey and perfectly sweet. The banana pudding was good to. Now for me personally I would have added some sweet peppers and onions and a little brown sugar to the spaghetti but my husband liked it. I would also recommend less pepper in the cabbage. It was very peppery for my taste. All in all the food was fabulous and I will definitely be back and try the fried chicken and of course get the oxtails macaroni and cheese and wonderful yams again along with the peach cobbler and banana pudding. This place needs to be on everyone list to try. I'm sure you won't be disappointed. I wasn't."
"As we walked in we were greeted and seated on a timely manner. So that was already a go! It's country and it's clean. Hubby and I came in on a Saturday afternoon to have lunch. We both ordered friend chicken with some sides like coleslaw and sweet potato fries. We both enjoyed and will come back again!"
