Tiffany J. "The coffee shops keep on coming! Hando (short for Handout), is a new coffee shop that just opened about a month ago. Though technically not in Pearland, it's close enough in nearby Manvel. We stopped by on an early Saturday morning before hitting the road. We were the only ones in there. The barista that was working was so nice and greeted us warmly. She explained the menu and gave us a run down of some of the beverages. I ordered an Iced French Toast Latte and it literally tasted like caffeinated Cinnamon Toast Crunch. It's good, but quite sweet. I subbed oat milk. I also had a croissant which was massive! It was buttery, soft, and very tasty. The shop is very spacious. They have a few large tables with outlets which is perfect for work or study. They also have a drive thru which is a plus. They are in a small shopping center, so I don't know how adequate parking is during peak hours. It would be nice if they were open on Sundays because I tend to visit coffee shops on the weekends. The barista explained that the owner of Hando wants to eventually donate to charitable causes (hence the name). It will be interesting to see which charities get supported and if the charities will rotate. Either way, I can get down with a good cup of coffee for a good cause. Welcome to the neighborhood!"

"It's a chain eatery so I didn't expect a lot from them but I was pleasantly surprised because the cashier and manager were very helpful with us making orders of food we would love so it worked out well. The place and ambiance was as expected from a chain sandwich shop. We ordered a Newk's Q sandwich, a bowl of Loaded Potato, and a bowl of Tomato Basil The food was great."

I enjoyed the classic on a crescent roll that did not make the cut, I'm deducting a star for the stale crescent roll, the girls loved the Olivia's old south salad, with sweet pickles and eggs, I got a taste and it was very good. My wife got a cup of poblano soup and our d in law got the loaded baked tater soup, also 5 stars. I felll off the keto bandwagon with a rice krispy treat on steroids.....very tasty. All three meals also had a nice little frosted cookie and a pickle spear. We'll be back for more....like tomorrow."

Today I believe I've found one!Their bagels are nice and big, soft in the inside and outside( not like the one it's hard to bite into), chewy just like NY bagels. I got LOX cream cheese, it was very good. They don't have chives in it so I just added some at home. Their prices are reasonable, half dzn + 8oz lox cream cheese was around $17.They had basic flavors of bagels, can't wait to try other ones."

The inside dining area is quaint & I liked the covered patio. There's a few fans out there for when it gets really hot. I went for the combo & got the Spicy Daddy sandwhich. Also grabbed a side of the chive dipping sauce to test it out. It was a to-go order and I had a bit of a drive back to the office. The sandwhich & fries were still piping hot by the time I got in. My coworkers were like what's that bc they could smell the food LOLThe Spicy Daddy was definitely spicy, but it had good flavoring. And by that I mean seasonings like garlic, paprika & others. NOT an overload of salt and/or cayenne. The bun was buttery & toasted. I liked their fries too. Found myself dipping my sandwhich & fries in the chive sauce every now & then too. The service was really good too. It was lunch hour & I still didn't have a long wait. The ladies working were super sweet. And the place is very clean. Felt I got my monies worth. I'll be dropping back in to see Daddy plenty times :-) Yelp on my friends!"

We showed up right at 11 am and we were the first customers. My wife and grandbaby and I shared the chicken tender basket. Came with crispy fried chicken tenders and fresh cut fries, country gravy and toast.....there was nothing left but a few fries. I had to try the Nola Muffaletta Burger with a beef patty topped with their homemade olice dressing/salad, swiss cheese and a mayo sauce of their own creation. No part of this burger survived it's encounter wit' me. The fries were done to perfection and the fried okra was just as good. We did haves some fries and okra left over, they were too good to leave behind so we snarfed them up for dinner. You order at the counter and they bring it to you in a short length of time. We'll be back."

Fox E. "Howdy you make everything better when you feel like crap? You come here!I wanted pretty badly to like Howdy Hot Chicken, and in some ways I do like it, and I think it's one of the better hot chicken places I've been to outside Tennessee, but their hot is a little too hot in an uncomfortable way but not a tasty way. That's weird for me to say, I have everything far more spicy than 99% of people can handle, trust me (it's Barbi's influence mainly). Also the sauces are a little too sweet for me. And don't get me started on the prices, although the large portions of chicken are pretty nice. But making the sandwiches sugary is something that the massive expansion of hot chicken places by hipsters has done, and I don't appreciate it.I want this stuff, but I need to have this stuff in Tennessee, and so do you, to see what it's supposed to taste like. Hattie Be's for example. It was never sweet and it shouldn't be sweet. I don't know why everyone has to corrupt and pollute the recipe of traditional stuff around the country with massive doses of high fructose corn syrup.Other than that it's very tasty sandwich, good quality chicken, piping hot, and large and filling, although service at this location was not very nice to me at all, and the prices are pretty high.A four star chain with some one star employees constantly messing up very expensive sandwiches, hence the 3 stars. The Shepherd location is much more reliable."

What can I say the least I could do is buy my hairstylist dinner for all her hard work. I ordered through a delivery service - not worth mentioning. The menu matched the delivery site. I was impressed by the unique Banh Mi sandwich combinations and flavors. Our food arrived, HOT, FRESH and ready to eat. My hairstylist had the Mango Habanero chicken sandwich, I ordered the Korean style Grilled Beef Sandwich. We shared the Cha Gio Homemade egg rolls. Our food was delicious. I didn't try the chicken sandwich. My hairstylist enjoyed it - she said the sandwich was spicy, but she loved the fresh flavors. I wish the garlic aioli had more of a garlic flavor. But I would still order my sandwich again. As for the egg rolls, they were perfectly cooked and full of flavor. I would definitely order from here again"

Arie M. "Stopped here for lunch with one of my favorite seniors for lunch because we were craving some Persian food and had an hour to kill before our next appointment. Usually we go to the oldest one in Houston that's been around for ages so fairly or unfairly, we couldn't help but compare the two places as both are cafe style /no frills style restaurants where you order, get the self service cup for a drink, sit down and they bring your food for you. I prefer this style over restaurants that have a waiter, especially for lunch but the vibe wasn't the friendliest. I kind of get it because this is more of a mom and pop type operation where the owner and a small staff do everything but considering the prices are slightly higher than the other place and it wasn't crowded, it could have been more friendly. I ordered a Chelo Kabob (skewered ground meat / rice) and the old guy got his favorite lamb shank and rice. The food itself was very good. The kabob was nice and thick and tasted fresh and tender. The rice was a little too soggy with butter for my taste it didn't stop me from finishing it all. The lamb shank was a bit plain but well cooked. Again, I hate to compare two places together but the there was only one tomato with the kabob and there was no sabzi (table veggies - mint, etc.), not even a wedge of lemon for the water. In the other place, you can just pick a bowl full of the stuff and they come and offer you tea and such. You can't have Persian food without some sabzi on the side. Perhaps they had it if asked for but again, nobody was really around so I didn't want to bother them. Overall, it's a great place for lunch or carryout, so you'd have some nice food. Perhaps my experience with the other stuff was just a misunderstanding so I'll be back when in the area."

"KATY, TX / FRIED CHICKEN / 03-28-23 / TAKEOUT DINNER+The chicken tenders were cooked well, nice and juicy on the inside and crispy on the outside except for the bottom, because of the condensation build-up.+The 'hot' spicy level had a nice kick to it.+The two guys working the food truck were friendly.-The french fries were meh. And while I'm personally not a fan, my dining companion raved about the liver and onions. Cookie, one of their incredible servers, makes every visit memorable - truly one of the best of the best. And the sangria made from her mother's recipe is a must try! The restaurant is known for their breakfast, but we're always here for their excellent lunch and dinner specials. The portions are huge - I usually take half of whatever I order home. We always have to take our black and white cake to go - too full but so totally worth it in a few hours! Like the other reviews have said, it's not much to look at, but their food is great! We started off with the fried pickles. They are definitely fried in-house and not from the freezer. The batter was a tad on the salty side, but otherwise delicious. My boyfriend had the breakfast burger with tater tots and I had the bacon cheeseburger with curly fries. Both burgers were mighty tasty and hefty enough that we ended up taking part of them with us for a snack down the road. I would definitely recommend this place. Peter C. "Headed back home from Corpus Christi and looking for a quick lunch and a restaurant we haven't tried. Searched trusty Yelp for a recommendation and this place in old Edna popped up. Sounded good so we made the loop around to find it and I am really glad we did. The restaurant is very unassuming as a converted old filling station (almost expected to meet someone named Goober here..) it was a blessing that there were no fan belts or hoses on the walls or tires laying around just an adapted front drive through and demure entrance door. The inside is very basic small town tables and chairs with an old menu block letter sign and plastic wrapped specials list on the counter. Divey! I loved it. A nice lady took our order (two cheese burger baskets with fries) and the food came out pretty quickly. I was surprised how large and beautiful the burgers were presented. Large home style buns with a fat patty of excellent quality, lettuce, tomato and onion all fresh. The burgers were wrapped in paper like days gone by and the first bite sent me back to the days of my youth when people went out of their way in crafting good burgers. They have the taste of early Americana busting of juicy flavor. They really need to be wrapped in paper as they are just that juicy! The crinkle fries were cooked perfectly crunchy without being dry. The catchup was brought out from a cooler cold..(love the health and safety mindset) and alas my burger was gone before I realized I hadn't taken a picture! Sorry about that! I set my empty basket down and pulled more tip money out of my wallet to add to my previous tip when we paid at the counter. This was the best burger I've had really in decades. Not dripping in avocado-mango-salsa or blackened or covered in bacon or whatever, just an honest old school home run of a basic cheese burger. Love it ... or face the fact that everyone with any sense will know you don't know what a burger is supposed to taste like!!! Burger lady.. I will be back!! Next time to sample the awesome chili you told me about too!"

It was a thicker cut but fried to perfection. The sliced Italian sausage was sautéed in a garlic, basil, white wine marinara sauce.. delicious with the bread for dipping.Everyone ordered different plates and commented on how good the food was.
