"KATY, TX 77449 / GUANGXI, SOUTH CHINA CUISINE / 08-24-23 / TAKEOUT DINNER+The rice noodle portions are great; very filling.+It's awesome that a South China regional cuisine has established itself in the Katy Asian Town & Marketplace shopping district. I know there is another location in the Bellaire area, and I hope they continue to grow/expand their businesses.+The staff was very friendly and the restaurant was clean, with a nice layout.+The takeout packaging was well-prepared.-The bone broth was a little too salty for our liking. Other than the high sodium content, the soups were very flavorful and full of umami.-The chicken wings appetizer left a lot to be desired. The quality of the wings used was terrible, and there was too much fat and breading. Skip this appetizer. Maybe get the Taiwanese popcorn chicken instead?-Some random menu items; i.e., tater tots. Would love to see some more traditional Southern Chinese dishes on the menu, even in the appetizers section.-The website could use some improvement, including some better descriptions of the menu offerings, if they would like to expand their customer demographics. What we ordered:'1 A6. Fried Chicken Wings $6.99'1 D1. Losifen Rice Noodle with Vegetables $12.85'1 E1. Bone Broth Rice Noodle with Char Siu $10.85'1 E4. Bone Broth Rice Noodle with Beef Brisket $12.85Total: $47.14 post tax plus tipOverall, the restaurant's concept is great and the food was pretty good. I could definitely see myself returning, keeping this Chinese regional specialty shop in my rotation of noodle soup destinations."
"We enjoyed the Blind Goat. I have been a huge fan of Chef Christine and frequented Xin Chao when she was partnered with them. This restaurant did not disappoint. We had the Jungle chicken salad, fried rice, garlic noodles, eggrolls, and the rubbish apple pie. The Jungle salad and the garlic noodles were by far my favorite things. The salad was so fresh and the crunchy sesame rice cracker bowl was the perfect vehicle for the fresh and bright salad."
Lots of butter, crawfish tails, freshly grated parmesan, lemon zest.

"This has become our new favorite go to spot for some Asian food. We really like their Spicy Teriyaki chicken, it's packed with flavored the chicken is cooked to perfection sweet and spicy. The beef udon was a little underwhelming. It was packed it with more udon noodles with a thin top layer for beef, which was disappointing. Beef was flavorful however, I just wish there was MORE of it. The special fried rice is your combination rice of beef and chicken mixed nothing different from your usual fried rice that you get from there. I would say overall Spicy Teriyaki is our fav!"
"Ordered Lobster roll way over priced. That was the negative but the other food hit the mark Korean bbq po boy and garlic crab fries."
"One of the only Asian fast food spots in the area. Ordered our food and it was ready in 10 minutes. The Chinese dishes reminds me of your typical delicious Chinese fast food spots. However, the roll I had was restaurant caliber. A delightful family-owned business that left my appetite fully satisfied."
"One of the most authentic Hunan cuisine in grand Houston area. Dishes like xiao chao rou (spicy pork with long hot peppers) and white pepper with smoked beef are signature Hunan dishes, where this restaurant offers the best taste after I tried pretty much all Hunan cuisine in Houston. The place is spacious and clean. Services were attentive. I was surprised to see some very negative reviews. Maybe because it's not Americanized Chinese sweet and sour food hence the uncomfortable experience? If you like spicy food and want real Chinese food, you will enjoy."
"What a great find! I've had this place bookmarked for quite some time because of all the reviews I've seen for this place on yelp. This is a small mom and pops type of establishment that could easily be missed when driving by due to the location and signage. We kind of had to search for it even though we mapped it out. It's located in the same center as the Valero and the Pizza Hut, directly across from the Stripes gas station. For starters, we had the boudin and the dumplings. Both items were pretty darn good and looked way better than pictured. We also tried the hush puppies, fish tacos, fried platter combo with the fried oysters, fried shrimp, and stuffed crab. All of the items were phenomenal. Their breading was light, crispy and well seasoned. One of my friends said that the tartar sauce was like crack. I thought it was just okay. Portions were huge and way more than we expected. We had quite a bit of leftovers to take home. Can't wait to return!"
"I know this might sound kinda hokey,But friends in L.A. are quite Cokey,Including several ex's,Meanwhile I'm in Texas,Because my drugs are Boba and Poke. This clean, fresh, bright and friendly Poke shop is part of Katy Asian Town, and we always enjoy coming here for a tasty, healthy snack. I had quite a lot of bad Poke and some mediocre stuff, but this one was pretty good. It wasn't one of the best 3 or 4 that I've had in the Houston area, but it was definitely satisfying, and even though it's a little bit expensive for Katy, it's pretty affordable compared to the ones down in Midtown. The decor is really nice here, and it's located right in the middle of the fancy shiny new Katy Asian Town which has so many Asian businesses for you to come and try. And this should definitely be one of them, to go with all the great Boba over here such as Yan Tea, Fuji Tea, and Tea Top, as well as Happy Lemon.Wasn't sure between 4 or 5 stars, but it's locally owned, not a chain, and that seals the five-star deal.In conclusion. This is a very nice poke place with very delicious stuff. We had a nice poke Bowl here for about mid price. It's definitely one that we would come back to and enjoy again in future. You've done all your labour, now give me your FRUIT You'll be impressed when you see me SALUTE I wanna jump on you without a PARACHUTE Draw from days at the house of ILL REPUTE And use my expertise as a PROSTITUTE (And now that you know that, don't PERSECUTE) (And if you're law enforcement, don't PROSECUTE) (And if I get a death sentence, don't ELECTROCUTE) (Only backwards barbaric nations EXECUTE) (Anyway, where was I, let's not CONVOLUTE) So we'll do it like an Alaskan MALAMUTE And afterwards you'll know, there's no SUBSTITUTE But first, before I bring you into DISREPUTE My dinner suggestion is ABSOLUTE Cause no other Poke house has this ATTRIBUTE The only route we need to take is SQUARE ROOTWHAT"
"Did a door dash order here early September cause I wasn't in the mood to cook and indian food was on my mind. Found this spot and placed an order for a few items which were:Veggie Samosa - 7/10Chicken Tikka Masala - 7/10Gongura Shrimp Biryani - 9/10Garlic Naan - 6/10Both the veggie samosas and chicken tikka masalas were solid; not over-the-top but good. The samosas had some crunch and good filling. The chicken tikka was tender with good spice and seasoning. Garlic Naan was alright, texture-wise it's soft with good amount of seasonings. By itself, not bad. Dip in that masala, now it's to another level! Favorite was the Shrimp Biryani, by far. Shrimp is large, the rice and seasonings go well together and it's quite filling. And the portion is huge! Had leftovers for the next day and it still tasted awesome when microwaved.Price-wise, it's a bit expensive but that's with the doordash extra charges (why do I keep getting suckered by them). I look forward to checking out the restaurant and eating at the establishment where it's much better cooked-to-order than delivered to you."
"Despite the cramped seating, limited parking, and prices at the time (#1), I managed to come away loving the experience because the food was good and the service was beyond excellent. The latter is all the reason I plan on putting Taizzi Katy on my list of AYCE sushi go-tos.It's not much to look at. The interior is a bit on the smaller side and can probably comfortably fit 20 people. Whether it's the small'ish group tables in the front or the smaller 2 tops in the back, it can feel somewhat cramped. There are also seats by the bar, but given all the items I tend to order, the table is best. The menu is so rich with options that it's a fun adventure just choosing things from the menu. I appreciate that they've labeled each of their items based on whether it's raw, spicy, and even if it will take extra time. Coupled by the fact it's a picture menu, along with the "preferred cut" for sushi and sashimi of thin / medium / thick is unheard of to me. Even the rolls have a breakdown of the interior, exterior, and whether or not there is sauce on each one. I'm so impressed. There's been so many rolls (#2) that only a handful (#3) truly stand out. I loved the::: Elvin (shrimp, tempura, crab, cucumber, topped with salmon, tuna):: Final Destination (soft shell crab, spicy crab, asparagus, topped with tuna and salmon) :: SpamHolic (spam, eel sauce):: Mistake (mixed fish with spicy mayo, eel sauce):: SalmonAss (salmon, crabmeat, cream cheese, avocado, topped with salmon with spicy mayo, eel sauce)I was also a fan of my nigiri and thought my favorite pieces were the fatty salmon, yellowtail, salmon egg, and scallop. For all sashimi, I prefer the thick cut and love ordering a bunch at once. The fish isn't going to be mind blowing quality wise, but for an AYCE spot, it is definitely a big thumbs up.There's a lot to appreciate with their hot foods as well. I think their sushi towers are fun on the food porn front and the grilled collars (yellowtail, salmon) are fabulous. No one talks about their "monkey brains" or baked mussels enough, so I recommend it all for any one who wants something cooked. It's also important to note that soda is included with the AYCE deal.Service wise, they hit it out of the park. Our waitress was attentive, polite, and went out of her way to ensure they subbed right items for allergies at our table. She was also accommodating my party every step of the way. At the end she didn't hassle us to leave, but was so kind from start to finish. I know Taizzi takes their customer service seriously and for that I'm extremely grateful. I can't wait for my next visit.___________(#1) During my first time here, it was three different levels of pricing, which became sort of confusing. It's now just a straight $36 for everything.(#2) I'll never remember all of their names(#3) Unintentional pun"

I enjoyed some delicious soup here on a (surprisingly) cold weekend. The soup itself came out piping hot, with yummy additions like peanuts, seaweed, bean curd, cabbage, noodles and more. I requested a mild version and felt it was just the right spice level, with the soup base itself being incredibly flavorful. The amount of food was also tremendous for the price I paid (~$14), to the point that even I, as a voracious eater, had leftovers. There was also a small self-serve side area to grab miscellaneous sides like jalapenos, pickled radish, and more. Service was prompt and the restaurant was clean. Overall, I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a delicious meal in the area.

As a lover of Xin Chao I was excited to try this new Christine Ha restaurant. The last Blind Goat was disappointing to me so I tried to lower my expectations, but this place met the mark! Parking is easy and ample. Service is efficient and friendly. The space is airy and clean, while simple. In terms of the food, we tried the fish sauce wings which were crispy and flavorful. The only complaint is that we wished there was more for the price! We also tried the pork belly which was good but if you want a bigger portion go to Bellaire or Siu Lap City in Midtown. The pho bone marrow was good as well. My baby loved the crawfish noodles which I thought was the best portion size for the price!

This restaurant caps the end of an old strip block. It doesn't look like much outside, but the interior is modern and pleasant. You order and pay up front and the food is brought out to you.We ordered a few teriyaki plates and the katsu chicken plate. For each teriyaki plate, you have the option of white or brown rice, and stir-fried vegetables or potato salad. Other options are available for extra cost. The teriyaki chicken and spicy teriyaki chicken has a smoky flavorful taste. Portions are decent.

Been here twice and both times were amazing. I got the Korean bbq beef poboy and love that the "poboy" is actually Texas toast and so crunchy and buttery. The meat is well seasoned but a tad dry but it's okay though cuz it still taste good!! Lol. Only thing I didn't like is the cole slaw in the sandwich. Tastes kinda bitter and not as creamy both times. The fries however are always crunchy and seasoned as well and taste good. I just wish they had more items on the menu

Our first time ordering from this new place. The food was very tasty with a wide variety. While I waited for our take out, they offered me a flavored tea. You can eat in, but it seems more like a take out place. Employees were very nice, esp on New Year's Eve.

My father, husband, daughter and I went at the recommendation of my father's friend and I am not impressed. We ordered the eggplant, lamb clay pot, beef rice noodle and signature pork. Eggplant: they serve it with cilantro, ground pork and RAW garlic. The taste of raw garlic is just so overwhelming and it's 1/3 the major ingredient!!!Lamb clay pot: this is extremely spicy. My husband and father did not enjoy this. The spice was fine for me, but I'm more annoyed that for $26, there wasn't even meat! All bone. Beef rice noodle: this one was my favorite. they didn't have the correct noodle so they subbed it out, but I actually really enjoyed it. They used flat rice noodle in the soup and it was quite good. I liked the pickled vegetables they had to eat with it. Signature pork: this one was my dad and husbands favorite. They enjoyed the flavor. Also if you're going to pack one table's Togo, you should do every table's.

I had a great experience. Nothing fancy, just a small place and as my friend mentioned..kinda a hole in the wall. Lots of seafood and asian options. They have several fried items on the menu and I was trying to eat a little more healthy. I opted for the grilled shrimp and tilapia, which comes with a salad or grilled veggies. I went for the salad. All for about $12ish. When my food came out my eyes popped out of my head because the portions where HUGE! And yes I was hungry and had every intent on cleaning my plate. I did! The tilapia and grilled shrimp were very good and my salad was so large. I was a happy camper!I watched as other dishes were brought out. Their fried rice would serve a family of 4! Next time maybe I will order. TV on the wall so you can watch the game. Extremely friendly staff who recommended items and were very helpful explaining their dishes. I did use their restroom facilities and they were VERY clean! If I am ever in this neck of the woods I would have no hesitation to come back! I am a fan!

"We order from teriyaki madness for the office atleast once a month. At some point we were having it so often I was like we gotta stop y'all lol But it's so good I can't even resist I'd say their top items are their spicy chicken and the teriyaki chicken. Comes with fried rice and noodles and we love the mixed veggies. We've ordered orange chicken before and it's whatever but the other two are the stars! The catering packaging on ez cater are perfect for our office lunches and everyone is always pretty excited to hear we're having this for lunch. Never been to this location but this review is based solely on their catering and if their food is anything like their catering then it should be delish. Not sure if it's a chain or not but the owner is soooo nice and has personally delivered the food for us as well"
"Every time I see Blood Bros BBQ on social media, I get excited. Because it brings me a good feeling from many memories of Bao Battle, Banh Mi Cookoff and other fundraising events benefiting the AAPI communities. Recently, I finally set foot at the restaurant. My first dish was the Smoked Brisket Burnt End on Steam Buns on the daily special menu back in February. My recent visit was on the last day of May. I went to check out the restaurant for a party. I want to be able to accommodate my guests with best possible experience. I spoke to the cashier, I believe they can deliver the experience that I am hoping for. While I was there, I ordered a Green Thai Curry Boudin Eggroll. It was a takeout. So, I didn't expect to be anything fancy. But when I opened the box... Wow, I was amazed by the presentation. The flavor, OMG, my taste buds were dancing in my mouth. So many exciting flavors and perfect combination of sweet, savory and spiciness. Not sure when I will get to see this item on the menu again. On my next visit, I am going to try the standard BBQ items on the menu. With the dining reward provided by the restaurant, I will be back more often."
"The Museum District is one of the few areas of Houston that doesn't have a significant Vietnamese presence, which is what makes Miss Saigon Cafe stand out as one of the only pho options. The vibe is homey and small with lovely service to boot, but unfortunately that's where the appeal ends. The food was a big bust for my group and I.I can't stress it enough: I love the family that runs this place. The grandma is incredibly friendly and extremely kind to us. We loved the complimentary sour yogurt and gesture with the grapes. The rest of the wait staff was fairly attentive, despite being extremely slow with everything from food to getting the check to even filling the our waters. Still, good service is one of the most critical elements of a business and thus, 3 stars. The vibe can be described as quaint but comfy. The seating arrangements are small enough for a casual date night in the neighborhood, but good enough for mini groups to feast as well. The mural on the wall is an interesting decor choice and I haven't seen a large crowd here apart from lunchgoers in the area. That's where the buck stops sadly. My pho dac biet was a disappointment with broth as dark as coffee and meat that was tough from being overcooked. I appreciated the fresh herb condiments but they didn't save the bowl. Pho ga was also a disaster with the same dark broth and chunks of chicken breast. Bun thit nuong was not much better. The pork was very underwhelming and the noodles were sparse. I think the cha gio were marginally better but I'm not even sure they're made in house. Banh xeo was easily the most disappointing since it was semi-soggy and the stuffing was also minimal. We didn't even apply the fish sauce and it was already falling apart.I realize that there's an audience for everyone, but I'm clearly not the target demo in this scenario. I may come back but not for a very long time."
"A random but solid spot and decided to try! I was intrigued by the style of food. The Samsa was filled with beef and orange peppers, it was a good starter (flakey pastry). The noodle is a good description of tomato soup with beef cubes and green beans. The texture of the noodles are Asian styled! Dumplings really is a must, it sounds weird with sour cream but great blend. The dough and beef inside was delicious. This style of food was different, but good!"
"Located in the food court at Understory in downtown Houston, my friend and I decided to eat here since we had passed it on the way to and away from the restroom (lol) and my god, the smell was hard to pass on. I never usually eat Filipino food but always knew they made food with great flavors. My friend and I settled on the mini kamayan, and like everyone else said, it definitely feeds 3-4 people instead of the 2 people stated on their menu. What a great value! The rice had a buttery/garlicky taste that was oh so good. The different meats within the kamayan all had their own flavors and textures. I was extremely impressed that I liked all of them. My favorite would probably be the grounded patties. The kamayan also comes with a sweet and sour sauce and gravy that compliments the meats. Shoutout to the workers there that night who really took care of me and my friend! They were the sweetest and had great energy."
"Fun fusion joint that combines Texan and Asian influences. The pork belly fried rice was tasty with tender and fatty pork belly. The brisket egg rolls were good as well although I wished the brisket was juicier. Great flavors overall.Love the vibe here. The space is pretty big with just enough decoration to entertain the eye. They were also playing killer Southern jams (e.g. Tammy Wynette). Friendly service.Clean bathrooms. Ample parking."
"Yes! Yes! Yes! Tracy is spectacular! The food and service were exceptional! This was our second day in a row and we absolutely loved it! Fresh fish, excellent service and just a wonderful time. Annie and Tracy (and Tracy's sister) were great! I'm visiting from out of town and love coming here. Can't wait to be back! Thanks Akashi!"
"Came across this place while we were visiting Houston. Service was awesome and food was great. Portions a large and since we ordered take out they packed it in this cute little bag. We recommended the place to my sister since she's local. Btw, they serve delicious bobas. Definitely a must try."
"I ended up trying this place because they were at an event at the museum and I will definitely be ordering takeout from here again. They were giving out free samples of their pork and fried brussel sprouts. The pork was so tender and melted in my mouth and the brussel sprouts were cooked to perfection. My friend and I ended up ordering the loaded fries with the pork and the kimchi quesadilla with pork. They were both so good we forgot to take photos, but will try to remember next time. Definitely getting the brussel sprouts next time!"
"This is a new restaurant and so worth coming here. We tried the fried dumplings as an appetizer and they were delicious. Hubby had chili beef and I had tangerine beef. Hubby's was a tad spicy. Mine was also spicy but the tangerine sauce was sweet and countered the spice. So so so good. Both dishes had enough that we took some home. There were not a lot of customers inside (too bad cuz I like to look at the other dishes) but lots of take outs. Our server, Chen, was professional and friendly and attentive (but not overly). The music was not blasting so we ate in relative peace. I love this place. We will definitely be back."
"We love hu's. They are dependable. Weve been getting food more than 17 yrs. Customer sevice excellent. They are familiar with my face, when i come in to order, they are familiar with my address, as i am a regular. Food delicious and fast. We have many favorites. Crab Rangoon, combination lo mein, won ton soup: large, steamed pork dumplings, pork egg rolls, orange beef, Gen tsos, sweet sour chicken. Highly recommend."
"Fast service. Friendly staff and owners. Great food and nice selection of ingredients. Online order is simple and fast."
"This place was delicious. We found this place during our daughter's volleyball tournament in Katy. We will definitely be back. I got chicken and my husband got steak, both were very good and filling."
"Authentic Vietnamese restaurant with a clean and cool interior decor. The waitress offered super fast service and the food was delicious. My lemon grass beef bun was grilled and flavorful. My dining partner had the spring rolls and traditional beef pho, both were so good! We had other friends who also joined us later and order the mignon beef, grilled chicken with shrimp rice plate, won ton noodle soup, and the stir fry noodles. None of the dishes disappoint. A huge selection of drinks including milk tea and juice. Since they are not a Chinese restaurant, I opt for the Vietnamese fresh lemon lime juice which was perfect for catching my vitamin Cs on a cold rainy day in Houston!"
"Had to wait forever for my food. They said 20 minutes. It was 40 minutes. Order ahead of time. The Bao was huge but on the dry side."
"Got to try this food catered at a party. Overall, I enjoyed the food taking into account the delivery time. The bulgogi was delicious, the galbi was flavorful while a little tough. Maybe due to the transit time though. Kimchi was standard! Not sure if I'd come here for kbbq when there are other great ones nearby but I'd like to try their other dishes!"
"Very long time for one trio bun order. Two buns were very good, but the chicken one was very dry and came with no sauce. Will try again as there were other things we wanted to try."
"First time here and left pleased and satisfied. This is a fusion of Mexican and Asian cuisine. The portions are HUGE! You really should consider one order for 2 or more people. I ordered the spicy Korean chicken fried rice. The chicken was full of flavor and well seasoned. The fried rice was full of onions and scallions!I also ordered the spreegrolls: an eggroll wrapped in a spring roll (don't knock it till you've tried it). If you're in Houston you have to check this place out."
"Delicious food, but even nicer people! They know how to do business. Offered us complementary bottles water since they were out of other drinks and offered another customer who had to wait a little while 15% off the next time she comes back. Overall just seemed like great people with a nice little patio space. They also offer DoorDash for those who just want to order in. We'll definitely be back to try their other menu items!"
