"This is a hidden gem and I'm glad we found it! Recently opened in the Woodlands, this Italain restaurant has the most delicious food at an amazing price point! The food tastes like restaurants that charge twice as much! The garlic knots, lasagna, chicken Alfredo, and the Alex special were all amazing! The service is top notch too - we received amazing seevice and the manager, Burim, was helpful when we encountered and issue. The ambiance is relaxed and semi-formal - perfect for a family dinner or a date night. I can't wait to go back to this restaurant again!"
"Intro: I'm going to start things off by firing some shots. I've always said that Houston doesn't have a great pizza scene. That doesn't mean that there aren't solid spots in town, just not at the level I would expect from one of the largest cities in the US. Despite my sentiments, I love pizza and am always on the lookout for an A+ spot. I had heard good things about The Gypsy Poet so I stopped by on a Friday evening for dinner at 8:00 p.m. I found street parking on a side street close by. Service (2/5): Things didn't get off to a good start. You order at the counter and there was a line outside of the door that took roughly 30 minutes to get through. I hate waiting in line. Why are the prospects there for a long line at The Gypsy Poet? The fact that it's a popular pizza joint and that it was a Friday were certainly factors. However, there are some logistical issues too. They don't have menus for you to look at until you're at the counter. As a result, unless people in line look up the menu online before they get to the cashier, they're going to spend a couple of minutes perusing the menu when it's their turn to order. That slows things down substantially. Instead of relying on people to be proactive, if I were The Gypsy Poet, I'd hand out menus to people waiting in line, and then voila, the "traffic jam" lessens. I know having a line outside of your restaurant adds hype, but I hate artificial hype. The staff I interacted with while I was there was pleasant so the service delivers in this area.Ambiance (3.5/5): After you place your order, the experience progressively gets better and better. You select your own seat and they will bring your food to you. There's a variety of seating available including tables, couches, bar stools, and some seating on the patio. It's not a large restaurant so we ended up sitting at the one open table we could find inside. Outside of the seating arrangement, I did notice their playlist. They were playing a lot of EDM as background noise and I dug it. Food (5/5): Gypsy Poet is arguably the best pizza in Houston that I've experienced. Right up there with Luna Pizzeria. We ordered both the Margherita pizza and the Pepperoni Madness pizza. The Margherita is your classic traditional pizza with San Marzano tomatoes, buffalo mozzarella, and basil. The Pepperoni Madness has both pepperoni and hot honey. Both of the pizzas were perfection. Everything: the crust, the cheese, the sauce, and the toppings worked in perfect harmony with each other. Out of the two, I would say I liked the Pepperoni Madness the best. It's one of their top sellers so go for it! We also had some tiramisu for dessert (my favorite dessert). A+ for the dessert as well. Drinks (4.5/5): A nice wine list. You can pick a bottle out while you're waiting in line which is exactly what I did. I went with a Pinot Noir, one of my favorite types of wine. They don't give you wine glasses, you're given regular glasses but it's all good. They also have a good beer selection and soft drinks if you're not feeling wine. Overall: The food is five stars hands down. With some logistical tweaks to ameliorate the dining experience, they would easily be a five-star restaurant in my book. They also have another location in The Heights. If you're looking for elite pizza in Houston, The Gypsy Poet has to be at the top of your list."

"If you like seafood eat here. There are SO many options you are sure to find something you like. I rarely post on a first visit but I am not likely to return to Edna any time soon. I almost didn't come here because I didn't think the posted pictures were very appealing. But against my judgement I came and I must say I enjoyed my visit. I ordered the lunch special of grilled flounder with came with dirty rice and staemed veggies. You also get a choice of salad or coleslaw. I like to try different coleslaws and found this one to be drowning in mayo. I posted my own photos that show the spices in which the fish is grilled. It was almost too salty, but I ate it with lemon and/or coleslaw. The rice has meat in it-ground beef. The veggies were perfectly steamed. I do recommend this restaurant. I came on a cold day at lunchtime. The locals do seem to enjoy this place and for good reason. The servers are friendly and helpful and aren't afraid to make recommendations or confirm with the cook if they don't have an answer as to how something is cooked."
"We'd been anxious to try this place, drawn in by the name, ever since we saw the coming soon sign and finally got the chance to check out it over the weekend. Walking in, we were quite unimpressed. It is a mediocre space consisting of three wooden seat booths, about 15 very small tables, and a huge bar that opens to the outdoor seating area. There is the option of ordering a cheese pizza with your choice of toppings or choosing from the carousels of already made pizza slices, which are huge. I chose a 16" pizza with hamburger, loaded waffle fries, a slice with a basket of waffle fries, garlic knots, and an order of the Fat Yays (to go). Short and sweet, we had to pull two of the tables in order to be able to get everything we ordered to fit, the pizza reminded me of school pizza, which might be good thing for after the club on Bourbon Street, but for sober on a Saturday, it was just wrong! The waffle fries were not very good, tasting like they were overcooked and soaked in oil - the cheese and bacon didn't really save them either. Lastly, I'll stick to getting my beignets from my favorite do-nut shop or a Cajun restaurant, because the Yays made me want to boo!The Garlic Knots with marinara sauce for dipping was the highlight for me!We came, we saw, we did. Nuff said."
"Authentic Mexican food with wonderful service and great decor. My family had a celebratory dinner here and were blown away at the flavor of the dishes. I enjoyed the caldo de res. The chips and salsa was delicious. I enjoyed the temperature and the spice of the salsa. Our waitress, Sarahi was very nice and kind."
"This is a very new location. Had only been open 1 day before my visit. This makes their 3rd location in the Houston area. Me an a few friends gave here in Sunday after the Saints game. There was a nice crowd and there was a DJ also. We tried several of their wings and they were pretty good. They are known for their daiquiris and they did not disappoint. It seems they only had @6 flavors to try but I expect them to expand that. There area also several flat screen tv's in both walks and there were a couple of different games on. It's in a area next to the movie theater so there is ample parking. I plan on revisiting after they expand their selection of daiquiri flavors."
"This is a small place that's more of an apps and drinks place. The food was eh to say the least. There was nothing on the menu I had that says let me get back here soon. The service and staff were friendly and prompt. It's fine for a social/sports type gathering but for a real meal you're probably better off elsewhere."
"Service was decent but could have been better. I noticed that the servers where hanging around table that their friend where at and show them more attention then the other table. Kinda annoying. The beer was fresh and the fries where good."
"A family member recommended this place to me. It's a chill place to get a drink. I seriously forgot what I ordered but it was well made. There's a food menu; however, I kept it simple and enjoyed my drink alone at the bar. If you're in a group, I noticed plenty of tables!"
"We came here for our guys trip to play some darts and drink some beers. This place is small but a great place to hang out with friends or family. Either way you're going to have a great time. They have plenty of beers on tap and a great liquor selection.Parking is limited. So I highly recommending using Uber or Lfyt to come here. The staff were friendly and awesome! They let one of our friends come on because he forgot his wallet and was honest about it too. So that in my book was great customer service."
"This is a really cool place. It's very large and perfect for getting together with friends or hanging out with family. There's plenty to keep kids busy while parents try the many different brews. The staff was very friendly and attentive. And the beers were great! My husband had the fried chicken sandwich. He's picky so he had them hold all veggies and sauce and instead had them add buffalo sauce. He said it was really good. I had the Baja shrimp tacos. They went a little overboard on the guacamole. It was the only thing I could taste. I'd recommend having sliced avocado on these instead. Then you'd be able to taste the sauce and bacon. They have a huge selection of beer. I like dark beers and usually I'm limited on selection. Not here, I had plenty to choose from. My husband likes lagers and pilsners and he also had several that he got to try."
"The pizza was really good and friendly staff! We will definitely be back during football season - good watching location!"

Food was absolutely delicious. I had the chicken carbonara. I love how their pasta summit over cook. Sauce was just perfect. Let's not forget then free bread. Buttery and soft. I have a new favorite Italian place I can go to.

Finally had the opportunity to try this place out as it has been on my list for years. We came early evening on a Saturday and were able to easily get a spot to sit inside (too hot to use their patio area now) - by 6pm or so the inside was full. We ordered 2 pizzas to share between the 3 of us and it was plenty. Web landed on the Cappellone "Big Hat" and Dream Catcher; both were artisan as advertised with nice quality ingredients on a perfectly crisp crust. Service was fine; minimal interaction given the order at the counter setup. Parking: street or paid lots nearby.

Being new to Edna I wasn't aware of where to eat but lucked into a grilled catfish and shrimp dinner situation at Edna's Seafood Restaurant, which luckily had late opening hours allowing me to blow in at 815pm. The food was so fresh, flavorful and amazing I got a second go round for takeout the day I departed. Five stars to Edna Seafood!

If you love pizza, this is your place. You walk in and there is a full bar, a game room and a lot of room for Tons of people. You walk in and you order at the counter. They have daily specials and a lunch menu, which is wonderful. So we ordered 2 slices of giant pizza and cinnamon rolls for dessert. We got one fat boy special and one cheese pizza. The slices came out and they were an amazing size and super hot. The pizza was off the chain and wonderful. One slice will fill you up. Lots of cheese and not over powered with a ton of sauce, perfect. I love old fashioned New York style pizza, so this was perfect. I highly recommend this gem of a find. Tasty and fresh, you can't go wrong. The cinnamon rolls were fabulous and hot. In a cast iron skillet, and tons of icing on the bottom. Just wow!! We loved them. This pizza joint is wonderful and worth the drive. One slice will make your day super!

We've been wanting to check out this spot for awhile now but were a bit skeptical. When my coworker told me it was a cool spot, I knew I had to check it out. We arrived around 530 and it wasn't busy at all. We ordered two daiquiris: Peach/Hypnotic/Hulk and Hypnotic /Octane plus 2 shots. Great flavor! The 32oz is huge and I wasn't able to drink it in one sitting. I froze what was left and drank it the next day. Will return!!

Great food and HH menu. Love the ambiance as well. Service was slow, but there was only one waitress working and there were a bunch of tables, so not their fault. Ordered the buffalo cauliflower app which was good, could've been a bit more crispy but the flavor was nice. The portions were nice for the kids chicken tenders and fries (not on the menu but can ask for the little ones). I went with the blackened cod tacos which were very tasty and had a bite to them. Hubby got the fish and chips and he loved their batter! Overall we would come back again

I like it here - it's fun....but, their happy hour well drinks are super watered down, basically just the juice/soda. I'd rather pay a little more for a better drink. Their chips and queso have a weird flavor, like the grease is old. Our service was pretty good & our waitress was doing well accommodating out large group. When planning this large group gathering, no one would answer the phone. Even when corporate called them, they couldn't reach 'em either. Overall though, it's a fun place, just lower your expectations.

"This is where you'll find me most mornings during the week before going to work. It's my go to spot if I am getting a latte. Like most coffee shops they have a variety of options for milk substitutes. If you're lucky enough to arrive early you can get tacos that they get from taco deli. In addition to other coffees, they have a large selection of teas. Several pastries are available at the counter. But once they run out, they run out. Perfect neighborhood coffeeshop that hosts live music nights and other things throughout the month."
"The absolute best pizza EVER! The choices are amazing and fill a couple pages. Atmosphere is upbeat and fun. Beer on tap is interesting. Plus, they serve good wine. Service can be a miss at times if you aren't a regular. Never come if you are in a rush. But once you place your order, it arrives quickly."
"This is a poor little pizza spot with inside seating walk up counter ordering and a nice outdoor cupboard patio with fake grass in case you want to bring the doggies along. The pizza is standard with a very very thin crispy crust not lots of sauce so if you like sauce you should probably ask for extra the toppings are good it was pretty much a standard Pizza to me maybe because I only got the margarita not all of the toppings but it's a nice place to go grab some wine and pizza with a friend and sit outside on the patio. Check them out it's not super overpriced the staff is nice and the place is clean. Enjoy"
"My friends and I just finished watching a hyped up show at House of Blues and weren't quite ready to end the night. We crossed the street and came over here to Reserve 101. It was my first time coming in but I had it bookmarked for awhile. First impression was this place is small, but after looking around, they have some seating upstairs as well as a little seating outside. We came in with the show crowd but were able to snag a few spots at the bar. This is an old building with lots of character. They also have one of the largest and extensive whiskey collections in the country. Customer service was outstanding with AJ at the helm. One of my friends is a whiskey connoisseur with a great collection of his own, but AJ put him on some new stuff and dropped lots of knowledge on our group. Not only that, he was making multiple drinks at a time with ease while making its perfectly. Give this man a raise! We were originally thinking of coming in for a night cap. Little did we know we would spend almost 3 hours here. I started off with an Espresso Martini as it is one of my favorite late night drinks. This was good. Everything was well balanced. My favorite of drink of the night and one of their signature drinks was the Clarified New York Sour. I didn't even know you can clarify whiskey. This drink was expertly made and so delicious and refreshing. MY friends had a variety of drinks and not one drink was bad. Trust me, I tried 'em. We even had a savory whiskey drink that was good to me. I'm not a huge whiskey drinker, but this place definitely has the good stuff and they sling out excellent drinks. I am adding this to my rotation of fave bars and will most definitely be back sooner rather than later!"
"Always our favorite go to for a drink, a pretzel and a conversation. Service at the bar is reliably attentive and friendly. Our server recommended a combo appetizer and it hit the spot. The atmosphere is always friendly and relaxing. We do prefer later less family more adult, but it's awesome either way."
"The true score of this place should be: 3.5Pros:- Lively on a Thursday night prior to the first weekend of the Fall college football season. - large spaces with various areas - Turtle racing occuring intermittenly with stands surrounding to view and place bets - Reportedly, it's a typical go-to Texas Longhorns Houston Texas bar. Cons:- 2-3 attractive ladies seen out of the whole space (Thursday evening). Impression: - It was fun to check out Houston, Texas. It's been sometime since I've been back to Houston. It looks like they're doing well."
"Fast and friendly with great food and service. The drinks are good also. They have a great catering service for pickup we have used them at holidays many times"
"Before I came to this little gem, I read the reviews here. I observed two reviews from some local "Karens" who complained the staff at the locations did not wear masks and did not require anyone else to wear masks (mandates that are not required in the county). One of the "Karens" even said the place was "like going into a pre-covid time warp", which sounded perrrrfect to me. All of the other reviews were all 5 stars. So, due to the 5 star reviews, and because of the local "Karens" informing everyone the place doesn't require masks, I decided to take a family trip to the location. The place was great. We walked in with no ridiculous mask hassle and we're seated right away. We ordered drinks and some food. Of course, the kids got soft drinks, but the wife got a pineapple mimosa. It tasted like a dry Champaign was used which was perfect with the sweet pineapple juice. I had an IPA, which was great, if you're into that type of beer.We ordered "Brunch Pizza". The pizza was delicious. Essentially, it was pizza topped with bunch items that included over easy egg. Awesome. One of my chillins got a hamburger that tasted like a ribeye steak grilled over charcoal. Super awesome. The other chillin got a sandwich with fries. The sandwich was excellent, but my God, the fries were very, very good. Thin sliced and crispy. Like a cross between a French fry and a potato chip. Loved those. I got smoked salmon on baguette with cream cheese and capers. Incredible. The salmon tasted like it was smoked Texas BBQ style. Unusual but delicious. Food was excellent. Service was excellent. No covid garbage was excellent. If you are looking for a small business to support, where you can take your family without hearing a word about current politically driven, business killing, freedom limiting, life ruining junk about how YOU need to obey thine ruler, this is the place for you. If you are seeking a place where everyone is turned away unless they submit to wearing a muzzle across the threshold of the door and aalllllll the way to their table, 13 feet away, and where everything is done for "safety", and for the "greater good", and "save the children", this ain't for you."
"The owners are a delight Mr. Ken and Miss Patty along with her staff Miss Jennifer. On a lazy Saturday afternoon we were looking for a great place to have lunch and this was recommended to us by a local staff in Livingston Texas. We were pleasantly surprised it was a cool vibe, with a lake view and easy-going staff. We ordered the cheeseburger and fries basket. We were pleasantly surprised that it was locally grown grass fed beef. This made a significant difference in the quality of the burger and we truly enjoyed it. If you want local please go to the big fish ice house. You will truly enjoy it."
"They have multiple locations this is first time I visited this location. However, food is very consistent and always hot and fresh.I would assume most come for the pasta but they have 3 dishes I highly recommendMy fav pasta - Alek Special (actually enough for 2 servings)2nd - Chicken and Veggies (actually enough for 2 servings)3rd - Pizza (any type) very very good.Today we got a supreme, removed black lives and mushrooms and added Chicken and Jalapeños.The margarita pizza is also really good but when we order we always request that they dice up the tomatoes otherwise they come as slices of tomato and to much to eat that way. I have been to the Tomball location and is a stand alone bldgSpring location is in a strip mallWoodlands is a stand alone bldgThe Tomball location is nice but the woodlands appears to be the most recent or new location. Very nice"
"We've been to The Upside Pub a few times now and service has been great both times. They have tv's all along the bar so its a perfect spot to catch a sports game. They have a huge selection of craft bear and also a pretty decent menu.We ordered the burger last time we were there and it was amazingggg. I never have high expectations for pub food but they really knocked it out of the park. Between the friendly atmosphere, great drinks, tasty food, and awesome staff, you really cannot ask for more. We will keep coming back!"
"Soooo happy to have a location in West U! Lots of seating indoor and out, plenty of parking, and the same delicious menu. I've loved everything I've gotten from here. I particularly enjoy the matcha latte and breakfast bagel. I also ordered a breakfast taco last time I was there and was disappointed in its size and how plain it was. You can definitely find much better tacos at many other locations for the same price. However, I'm not going to dock it for that, since Slowpokes is known for its beverages anyway."
"I've been to Baa Baa a few times over the years but haven't been in awhile. I took a trip to Houston a few weeks back and popped in on Saturday afternoon with my fiance. They specialize in IPAs and fruited sours but also have a few more traditional options as well well. The IPAs were good but not as great as I remembered. My favorite was the Dr Lecter which had a good Dr Pepper marketing label. If you're looking for more west coast types vs hazy, you might be out of luck though. On the fruited sours, they are up there with the best in Houston along with Urban South. They have several different series of different mixed sours that usually include chocolate and different fruit. They had a key lime sour that was pretty good this time although I don't think I could drink a whole one as it was pretty acidic. Tasting flights are likely the way to go to try different things and I appreciate they offer that. It's also cool they sell single cans to go and their prices aren't bad for what they are. There are a few things I wish they would do better though. They don't list their beer to go options online at all which is weird for this day in age. They also don't label all of their cans...they'll have Candy Baa or whatever the series is but not necessarily what the flavors are which is unusual. Last thing is that they didn't have any of the to go beers besides Dr Lecter on draft so it was hard to try something to decide if I want to buy it. Overall, these things wouldn't stop me from going again but for as good as a brewery as it is, it would be cool if they addressed them."
"It's nice to finally have a decent beer spot close to my family's place. I've been taking my Gramps (96y/o) here to get him out of the house when I come to visit. The staff are always really nice, and thank him for his service every time he comes through. He likes swinging in the hanging chairs, and chatting about his stories. The beer selection is okay. They don't have a ton of heavy beers, heavy on the IPAs. I like my stouts. It's a really nice and new place, clean, and located next to the sheriff's station. They have a giant screen for sports, a lot of different areas, covered and open to choose from. We shall be back."
"Friendly place where the entire wait staff is willing to assist any table and not just their own. We tried the chicken fajitas and fish Acapulco. Unfortunately we didn't get that sizzling plate when the fajitas were served. However they were tasty but a little dry. The fish was flavorful also. We like the hot fresh chips. However making borracho beans instead of refried an up charge was unusual. Also the chicken fajitas were $15.99 seemed unusually pricey. All in all this was a nice place. Just a little more than what you expect to pay for a nonalcoholic meal."
"Correction, this place is not an actual brewery. But they do feature a nice selection of craft beers. We dropped in after a morning run struck my friend's fancy. The name itself warrants a visit. We started with a few samples of some beers I was curious about, then settled on one from Austin. Barkeep was helpful and friendly. Service was slow, but there's no need to hurry. On Island time! This place is a great spot for beer drinkers - they had beer alt weekly newspapers, a beer/peanut club. P.S. Not sure why some reviews are slamming the biz for not facilitating parking. Purchasing/renting land for parking spaces isn't cheap - especially for local business owners. Maybe chains (like the one that practically owns the Island) can afford it, but not the little guys. Do yourself a favor and walk a block or two. It's da beach! Enjoy the sights, smell and salty breeze!"
"Love this dive bar! The Christmas decor was very festive and added to the allure of the place. They have an outdoor rooftop area and downstairs patio area in addition to two floors of seating indoors. The hot dogs here are amazing, a must get! Fun place to hang with friends on a weekend night!"
"No complaints at all here. My wife has wanted to try it and it didn't disappoint. Solid beer menu and I like Fulbrook Brewery so that was a bonus they carry their beers. My wife like their Sangria. The bartender was super nice and helpful. It's in Old Katy so I would definitely make a stop here if you want a clean, fun place to grab a few drinks. People here seem happy."
"Nothing super exceptional for me. Service was very friendly at the hostess stand. We ordered some takeout and the food was very average. Chicken fried steak was very dry. Maybe it was just an off night? They use to have a delicious Cuban sandwich in the menu so we were disappointed when it was no longer offered."
"Food was delicious and served hot! We got the chicken grill kabob, Hakka schezuan noodles, and chili fish. All of the items were delicious. We even got fries for free for the table! Will definitely be going back!"
"It doesn't matter what Pueblito you're from, if you're not visiting El Pueblito de Frida, you're playing yourself. Whether it's the Birria or the Piña Rita, they bring the heat bruh! Stepping in, I was transported to the Caribbean Coast of Mexico. I almost started to Salsa down the floor on my way to chips and salsa. It wasn't Easter but I was feeling like a Bad Bunny sitting outside on the breezy patio underneath a cabana. Our server Carlos was on point with the service! Drinks and food came out in rapid succession. Chips and salsa? Check! Agua Fresca de Melon/Limonada mixed? Check! Mexican Candy ( alcohol drink)? Check! Piña Rita? Check! Extra Vodka and Tequila? Check! Chicos y Chicas, I was feeling myself by the time the food came out. Birria tacos de res (beef)? On point! Birria Verdes de borrego (lamb)? On point! Birriaquiles Molcajete with beef? On point! Only thing I could even kind of criticize is the consome but not really. The beef consome was a tad light for me but the lamb consome hit hard with the chickpeas in it. All this food and I didn't leave anything on my plato. The vibe here is a fiesta, so if you're in the mood for a party with good food and good drinks, roll thru and find out!P.S. Pro tip: The staff is very diverse but everyone I spoke to spoke Spanish, so if you speak español, flex your skills."
"Been coming here for over 5 years now. Great little spot. Sometimes it's really busy for Geeks Who Drink, sometimes it's quite. Sometimes there's an Astros or Rockets game on and it's packed. Great tap list for Texas beers as well as some of the better beers from out of state. Simple bar menu with some great little sandwiches"
"I have been waiting to try this spot for some time! I was super excited to finally make it. We were greeted by our friendly waitress, where she served our drinks in a matter of minutes. Surrounded by helmets and jerseys, this sports themed bar is definitely a great place to kick back and enjoy a good game. While this bar is small, the experience was memorable! We ordered the queso, 6 wings (cajun rub and gajuchang), and chili dog with fries. What a great cheat meal! The fries were fresh along with their wings. Super crispy and seasoned to perfection. Their Chili Dog was MASSIVE. I'm so glad this place is right down the street! Until next time, Koozies."
