Sebastian C. "I don't know about Downtown Houston, but living in Southern California, I've been exposed to many of these hipster indoor food courts. We ended up eating at ChopnBlok and got an agua fresca at one of the many available little eats in the area. There's a staircase in the middle of the place that leads to the rooftop but we did not check that out during out visit here. It's a really nice place to walk around and check out all the good food!We didn't quite understand the parking situation at first but there's a QR Code that you scan as you leave and once you enter in your plate number, it'll show you a picture of your car entering the parking lots via camera. You pay in the app and they give you a grace period of 30 minutes to make your way out of the lot and all you have to do is scan the barcode at the gates."

The steak was good sized and was cooked to order. The seasoning was perfect and I liked that they topped it with sautéed onions. It came with an excellent brown gravy that was served on the side, something I really appreciate. The loaded mashed potatoes were topped with bacon, sour cream, and cheese and were excellent. They were basically a cross between a baked potato and mashed potatoes and will be my side of choice in future visits. Overall a very satisfying lunch in a nice, small town pub!"

It got quite crowded with several events (live music, a birthday, wedding group), but the service was amazing! Even if there being a line to order at the bar, the cocktail waitresses were still coming around pretty regularly.Has a nice view of the area, and we were lucky for a cool breeze."

The tables were pre-assigned and if there are unreserved tables, you can change your table.Evelyn Rubio performed. She did well. She got people on the small dance floor. The place was 95% full by the time the band started.FOOD AND DRINK:Bin 27 Port - 4/5It's served warm and not chilled. It's a semi-sweet red wine.Lemon Drop Martini - 4/5Sweet and couldn't taste the alcohol.Popcorn shrimp - 4/5Served very warm with a spicy dip.Bread pudding - 4/5Served very warm. Different than what I'm used to but it was good. Had 1 small strawberry sliced and some whipped cream.Their prices for wine were pricey. A glass might be the cost of a bottle at the store and their bottle was 4 times the cost.Service was good. The waiter was nice and checked on us multiple times. The wait time for food wasn't long. The crowd was between ages 40s to 60s. A few looked like they are in their 30s.Their dress code is business casual but I'm not sure it's actually enforced. Majority of folks were dressed up in nightclub and business/smart casual attire. But I did see a few wearing sandals and a t-shirt.Not a big place but they sure crammed as many tables and chairs as they could. There is a mix of small tables, lounge seating, booth seating, and tall cocktail tables.Overall I had a good time and would like to return back."

If you aren't familiar with the area Emmit's place is between Hw 90 and the 610 entrance ramp on to 610 - Located right off of S. Post Oak. Emmit's backs up into the neighborhood. Anyway, several bands were playing that night. All blues, funk, jazz, everything fun! There was some dancing on the dance floor, but not much. Tables, table tops, and bar area seating. Lots of GREAT people watching. Everyone is friendly! Great prices on drinks. There was even a food being grilled/cooked in the parking lot. Seriously, I've lived in the area for 20 years and have never been. BIG MISTAKE! I will absolutely be back. Robert S. "Wonderful cabaret of five singers performing theme shows in an intimate setting of what used to be the Radio Music Theate a few years ago. These folks gel together, and their enthusiasm will brighten your evening. You can't beat the price for live, family-friendly entertainment in Houston. I can't believe it took me so long after Radio Music Theater left to see a show by the new group, but I'm a big fan of Music Box now.If you've never been here before, you're in for a treat. It's not slick or over-produced. Just performers who love belting out tunes with a few surprises (did they really remix a version of "Some Nights" by fun.? Yes they did, and it was fabulous) and classics, depending on the show's theme. If you don't have a reserved seat (honestly, all of the seats are perfectly fine), arrive early. I've never had a problem with parking, but...do the smart thing and check their website for the best places to park (some businesses nearby allow people to use their lots). There are plenty of wine and beverage options for everyone, and light nibbles, too. Most shows are around an hour and a half to two hours with an intermission."

The Smash Burger was raw in the middle which meant it was still a frozen patty when cooked, this was at a bar where light Italian food was a specialty. In my experience Nico's is a bar not so much a grill. Beautiful people there a staff anyone would want for a bar. High comfortable tables but it looks like there's just not enough volume because of all the road construction to sustain any real consistency as a righteous grill. Maybe when the road clears up things will get back to the happy place it looks like it's been for many years. In the meantime stop by grab a few brews leave some good tips. However, Houston is robbing my generation of their money honey! $40 for entry $40 for any dress code violation (which isn't posted anywhere outside) $300 for the smallest table (since you have to buy at least one bottle at $200) $800 for a section with minimum 4 bottles ($200 each) The really interesting part is the whole club is ALL sections. Like no dance floor or room for anyone that doesn't have a section to enjoy them self. Which I'm not from Houston, but what I have seen is that they aren't dance floor dancers here. When I walked into another bar across the street from here who had the front AND back doors open and it still stank of heavy heavy smoke, I sped out, thought about this spot for some reason and headed over. This spots isn't as smokey as I thought it would be. The smoke is in there but it isn't nearly as heavy as where I had come from. The drinks were poured just okay and the the staff was friendly enough to where I would return on rare nights where I don't mind the smell of smoke. On Thursday's they have free jukebox night, which is pretty cool. They give you five bucks to go up and pick whatever you want. Nothing is banned on the jukebox which is very nice to know. I filled it up with rock and 80s. The crowd seemed to have enjoyed my selection. I even had a few people buy me a drink from some of the music I selected.I didn't order any food and really don't remember if they sell it or not. I'm almost certain that they do. It is not just jazz, but there are certainly many great jazz concerts here. I have seen Thomas Helton organize a recreation of the Miles Davis Nonent. Playing The Birth of the Cool from beginning to end. That has been one of my favorite concerts I have been to in Houston. I have also seen some benefit concerts and auctions that are always great fun.The vibe here is great. There are two levels. Tables scatterd on the first floor, and a balcony on the second with more tables and a bar. Often when I come, the place is packed, and people make a seat on the stairs. Which is actually pretty comfortable. Great seats throughout, and awesome acoustics. A hidden gem in the Rice Village area, and one of my favorite places to see a show."

Everyone else thoroughly described the kitchy decor at Shoeshine Charley's Big Top Lounge, so I won't bore you, but I just want to add that I love the velvet Pink Panther poster/painting. I came here for the first time on one of Houston's most recent rainiest night (Which one, you ask? I know. We've had so many lately.). An ex-coworker was in town, Flyp P, so a bunch of us were out to kick it ol' skool. By the time I got there, everyone was "on a different level," but I played catch-up with a few glasses of their house wine. Not too shabby.Get this: No cover and there was a lively honky tonk band playing. A few patrons were out on the small and dark dancefloor having a blast, including a woman doing turns and twirls in her electric wheelchair. I think I've just arrived to Awesometown, y'all. We moved the party outside--for the smokers and just to hear ourselves think--and played a few games of Pac Man, checked out the *ancient* jukebox and just kicked it. The bartender was a hell of a lot nicer than the ones at CC and faster, too. When closing time came, my friend John K and I were content to see our bar tabs were insanely small. Flyp-dawg, however, had a larger tab than expected for drinking Lone Stars all night. Methinks a few of our drinks made it onto his tab. Whoops. We'll getcha next time, brah. I like this place and give 'em two thumbs up. Lance S. "This is a fairly new venue around downtown Conroe. I saw an ad and saw the menus available and decided to give it a try. It was Friday night and it has a small parking area so when you arrive you can park either on the street or there is a chiropractor office that you can park in their parking lot if it's not during their normal business hours. There are three food trucks there that serve different types of cuisines. There is lots of outdoor seating and there is a smaller indoor venue that actually has a bar and that's where you buy your drinks at. It was in the 40s or 50s when we went so it was chilly but there were a few heaters outside, but you had to get the right table to be near the heaters. Of course, the cold is not usually a thing in this part of Texas so I understand the lack of the heaters but it would've been nice to have more heat since it was cold. In the inside part (which is open) there is a bar where you can order local craft beers, as well as other types of beers. There are wines, there are also sodas and bottled waters. There was a small stage where a young lady was also putting on an acoustic set. The food that I ordered from my food truck The Fix was really really good, I ordered some Birria quesadillas which came in an order of three and included onions and cilantro along with the meat. I also ordered a small thing of charro beans. It comes with your choice of red or green sauce, so I asked the girl which was hotter and she said the red. I asked for two and thankful that I did it was spicy and it was delicious on my quesadillas. The beans were also very good. my family ordered from a taste of Asian and they really enjoyed their food as well. Overall, it was a fun experience and I know we'll go more when it's a little bit warmer out as it is a nice family friendly place to go in downtown Conroe."

We went on a Friday night during college championship playoffs when Stevie J was there ...I don't really care who that is but just to set the mood.1. There is absolutely no space for you if you do not have bottle service. Had I known that I would have purchased bottle service; actually we tried to but it was sold out. It is crowded as heck in there. Basically zero space to even stand if you are not at a table. Lesson learned - get a table.2. The drinks are outrageously priced and the bartenders include their own tip on the price. I believe (1) drink was $16 with a $2 set tip for the bartender. So again, I would say get drunk before you go or have bottle service. The vibe was nice - seemed high end and fun. You can bring in a bottle of (whiskey, rum, etc.) and they will sell you the mixers. Like another reviewer, they will charge you a dollar for an extra cup of ice. This really doesn't bother me too much. Their beer was ice cold, says my brother. They give you a koozie to use while you are at the bar. No credit cards accepted but there's an ATM in the bar. We sat at the bar and celebrated my sisters fourth 29th birthday. Immediately "Mr. G." bought us three a round. Of course he was a local and was very nice, not overly friendly, just a good old boy sitting at the end of the bar. There was a birthday party in the pool room. They had brought their own food, etc. and it looked like a fun, local, regulars type people. No creepy people here - no extremely young people, so it's not a meat market. No scummy people or loud talkers, no smelly alcoholic types either. There's a sign over the bar that says WATCH YOUR LANGUAGE. Age 35 and up, I'd say. VERY VERY clean bar, VERY clean bathroom. Domino players inside and out. Two or three pool tables. Cards. Karaoke starts at 8 PM. Beverly the owner is very friendly, not off putting at all. Other bartenders nice as well.
