Shayna D. "I actually ordered from this place by mistake on Uber Eats a few weeks ago and nowwwww I'm addicted to their frozen hazelnut frappe with coffee jelly. I've had at least 4 and counting. This business is located right next to Katy Kids but it's not highly visible from the street so lookout. Parking stinks but the entire strip is that way. I've only stopped in for a pickup. Inside is modern and very clean. This would be a good place to post up and work for a hour if you're in between destinations with time to kill. The staff is always friendly and informative. They called once to verify details on my order which I appreciated. Drinks 5/5 - obviouslyEgg rolls 3/5 - filling wasn't very flavorful but nice crispFried fish sandwich 2/5 - the fish tasted like it had been frozen for a very long time. The sauce added nothing. The fish texture and bread did not work well together in my opinion it was too much. Maybe if it was on a soft bun instead of baguette. I'll be back for drinks but may pass on the food or try a few other items. Nice local spot."

Brett N. "Why 5 stars? Because my smoothie was basically perfect. --- --- --I bookmarked this place a very long time ago and finally was able to check it out. Full disclosure, we were about 20 minutes away, but I still convinced the wife that we were "close enough" to stop by. She loves boba, but was not super into the idea initially. Eventually, I wore her down and we drove way out of our way to enjoy some deliciousness. I initially opted for a limited time holiday shake, but ended up changing my order because I wanted to stick with something I definitely knew I'd love: the taro coconut smoothie. And indeed, I absolutely loved it. It was perfect. My wife ordered a thai tea, and while she can be pretty picky about those, she enjoyed hers as well.I can't say we'll be back often because we don't live nearby and don't spend much time in this area, but this is a great option that we'll re-visit if we find ourselves in this 'hood. Or, you know, within 20 minutes of it."

I went in at 3pm, weird time between lunch and dinner so the place was empty except for a Vietnamese couple. When dining at a specialty restaurant, it is always reassuring to see patrons who are from the same culture because it's an indication that the food is good - at least for me that's one of the signs I look out for when trying out a new place. I was greeted immediately and invited to sit wherever I liked. The place was quiet but they turned on some pop music after awhile. My server was delightful, had a nice smile on her face. She quickly took my order and even after advising me that the egg rolls might take time and asking me if it was fine if it came after the pho, the egg rolls still arrived first. I was able to enjoy both and took home my left over egg rolls and the remaining hot Jasmine tea that I ordered with my meal. Unlike other places I've tried, the pho broth was more delicate in flavor and had a clean finish on the tongue. I will come back again and looking forward to try other dishes on the menu."

The Bahn mi tuna sandwich is really good and I would definitely get that again, as is the taro and coconut smoothie with boba.We did not like the chocolate one that much but I think it's because it was so sweet and we didn't realize that we should have asked for a lot of sweetner. Shortly after waiting I was told that they were out of boba for my jasmine drink and they only had about half a scoop or less and if I'd like a different topping. Boba is my fave and what I was wanting so I was fine with the last half scoop of boba. The person was super kind and apologetic. The only reason I give less stars is because I think they should've monitored the boba more closely as it gets older and closer to the end because it seems as if the boba had broken down into the sauce making the sauce SO stringy with a weird mucus like texture. It was so unpleasant to drink. We honestly couldn't drink them because of how thick, stringy, sticky and mucus like the boba syrup was."

I'm surprised a local tapioca shop opened up in the heart of Friendswood, but I'm hoping it's here to stay.Walking in, it's very brightly colored, lots of natural lighting, and a cool "Hero" theme throughout. The family that owns the place was very nice, and was telling us how they've only been open for 3 days so far.We tried their green milk tea w/ tapioca, strawberry hero milk foam latte w/ tapioca, chocolate milk tea w/ coffee jelly, and taro milk tea w/ tapioca. All the drinks were made to order, and tasted pretty good. The only thing I would maybe ask for next time is for the drink to be less sweet, but that's just my preference. The tapioca was consistently soft though which is a great sign of any boba shop. The thing that blew us away though was their freshly baked custard buns. These were AMAZING! They served them still warm and the custard filling was overflowing as soon as you broke into them. We tried their cream cheese filling, thai tea custard, and pandan custard. The bread part is as soft as a cloud, and the fillings aren't overly sweet. I would seriously come back for their baked goods alone.Hero Cha is currently still in their soft opening stage so some of their items on the menu aren't currently available yet, but they said their grand opening will be announced soon on their website. I waited at least 45 mins to an hour, same with everyone ordered during that day. Apparently they were short staff. I mean that was fine but one thing I must pointed out though. There was a young lady working in the front that day and she was most unpleasant person. She made no initiatives to help the bosses with the busy shop. She barely did what she was told and even when she was told, she hardly wanted to move. The store was so busy but she made no attempt to say hello to any customers who walked in the store. She would just stared on the floor or stared at whatever. I dont care If she was new. That is common sense and need not to be taught. The owners tried their best to do whatever they could, but their employee action or lack of it was very aggravating. They got one of my drink orders wrong but that was fine. My hubs and I decided to make it a dinner date Friday night and check out this new place nestled between a CBD smoke shop and a Mexican frutería place...and a Subway...parking is small and limited...The inside ambiance could use a little pizazz!!! It was definitely lacking decor and really embodied the "hole in the wall" atmosphere! Even though we didn't announce it was our first time, it would've been nice to know what's special or what they are known for since there was a fusion of Vietnamese and Korean food on their menu... Staff was friendly but not really present or seemed excited about their new place... We ordered:-Brown Sugar Milk Tea with Almond Pudding -Mango Passionfruit boba with Lychee Jelly -wish I could've adjusted the ice and sugar levels like other boba places...not sure if it's a thing here or not -6 pc wings (mild) with fries The fries were basic. Salted but no seasoning and nothing special The wings were either mild or spicy (no other flavor options) just sesame chicken/soy sauce style -Medium popcorn chicken Same with the popcorn chicken...flavor wise it was the same as the wings but spicy...lacked crispy-ness and was overly salty...They have a self-service utensils, napkins, and sauce bar but didn't really explain what it was for...All in all, I wished that they would've told us their story and what menu items to try...we do want to go back and try the egg rolls and banh mi...I'd recommend their wings but Not their popcorn chicken....Boba was ok!..."

Now, it's a new normal that we all have to endure.I hardly come by this area since everyone is working from home. Driving from Chinatown takes about 20 minutes for errands, like pickup mail or shipping something at PO Box Etc or shopping at The Home Depot, I always look for something to cool me down.Just few months ago, I saw a banner up "Tapioca Blossom" on the building. I normally don't pay too much attention to temporary signs for restaurants. But this time, I want to make a point to give it a try.I invited my coworker to try their boba milk tea. Him and his kids were happy with their drinks. Me on the other hand, I didn't like my Artichoke Drink. But I really wanted Pennywort Drink from the menu but they don't carry it along with a lot of items. That was a major turn off which reminds me of The Boba Spot refusing to modify menu. At least Tapioca Blossom doesn't advertise things they can't make from the kitchen. The Boba Spot left a giant menu on the window to show their hot food that they could never serve because there was no full kitchen. I really hope Tapioca Blossom would remove that useless window covering. I regretted that I added too many toppings in my drink. Boba aka tapioca balls were cooked to perfection. But I don't understand why herbal jelly was cut to strings. The entire drink was very distant from Nuoc Mat as I remembered."

Because this is such a great boba shop to have nearby. --- --- ---We recently moved to Woodforest and have been loving it, but one thing that is definitely lacking in the area is boba tea. And when I say lacking, I mean it's pretty much non-existent. We previously lived in Tampa and had our choice of at least 10 different boba places within 5 miles. And I grew up in Friendswood and we had plenty of boba - even in the 90's and early 00's. So the lack of boba here on the northside has been disappointing.Fortunately, we've been stalking the progress of this shop every day as we drive by and heard they just opened up - great timing with us moving here 3 weeks earlier! And I'm happy to say that this particular shop is going to be one of my favorite spots in the area.I don't think I have ever seen "White Chocolate Strawberry" as an option on a boba smoothie menu, so I couldn't resist. There's not a single option out of the 18 on the smoothie menu that does not look appealing to me. On my return I brought Tiffany J. She's not really a boba connoisseur but when you're with me, you gotta get boba. She ordered the grapefruit Jasmine tea & she said it was good. I am not a fan of grapefruit because it has a bitter aftertaste but I need to try this drink next time. So far I was able to try 4 of their drinks. There was nothing more I could've asked for & so satisfying that I ordered it the next day. My least favorite was their Sunright Milk tea; it just doesn't taste as good as the fruit version of it. Given their success over the last year, I wouldn't be surprised if another location found it's way somewhere around South Houston. For now, this place is solid enough to be a repeat customer, which is what I've been the last few months now.Located in the heart of the growing Little Saigon (#2) enclave, Bobarista is definitely an Asian owned and the staff is definitely very strong on the Viet front. The place is absurdly clean, almost like the place is new. Bathrooms and WiFI are in very good standing, which makes this place an ideal study / work spot as well.My strawberry matcha wasn't the best looking drink but thankfully the taste beat out the aesthetics. It isn't the premium drink that has captured the nation, but certainly better than other similar versions at other boba spots. I tend to prefer their milk tea over the fruit tea, with the green milk and coffee milk tea being the overall go-tos.They also serve mangonadas and the peach orange lemongrass is somewhat underrated. I also strangely like their sodas, with the mojito, strawberry, and house signature Bobarista soda. I haven't dived down the smoothie route yet, but I sense I'll be doing that again soon. The staff looks bored often. There isn't a lot of people here that often, so I am hoping that it'll change soon. I got the lemongrass tofu vermicelli with pork eggrolls and it was fantastic. Just what I was looking for! I find that Houston really doesn't serve fresh Vietnamese herbs with their vermicelli bowls and I feel it adds so much flavor. But most places here just do shredded lettuce, cucumbers and pickled veggies. The noodles were cooked perfectly, the eggrolls crispy and flavorful and the lemongrass tofu was good. I find myself craving vermicelli bowls from this place often but unfortunately they aren't open on Sundays, which is when I want it most. They also make their own fresh baguettes for Banh mi and their Banh mi are a good size. I always say I want to try them, and my coworkers love them, but love the vermicelli too much! Give them a try!"

Karina N. "Good tea! We got there as they were about to close. I felt the urgency - I get it. The tea is good! We bought 3 and took them to go. My sister loves this place so we will be back!"
