Other than the high sodium content, the soups were very flavorful and full of umami.-The chicken wings appetizer left a lot to be desired. The quality of the wings used was terrible, and there was too much fat and breading. Skip this appetizer. Maybe get the Taiwanese popcorn chicken instead?-Some random menu items; i.e., tater tots. Would love to see some more traditional Southern Chinese dishes on the menu, even in the appetizers section.-The website could use some improvement, including some better descriptions of the menu offerings, if they would like to expand their customer demographics.What we ordered:'1 A6. I love to order the cream cheese wontons tray, and it is always a hit because who doesn't love cream cheese wontons? They for sure make delicious ones here! They also will throw in free items if you order a certain dollar amount, like free egg rolls or free family side of fried rice. Hunan Garden is a quaint, local, family owned business, and the owners and employees are always so very kind and welcoming! Hunan Garden is the best Chinese take-out in Spring!"

"The taco truck next door doesn't take cards so I came to Chinese Wok hoping the food was better than the building looks. I must say, I was impressed. I got the beef and broccoli because I thought that was safe enough... The food was definitely MUCH better than the eye sore of a building. The drive thru service was fast, friendly, and cheap. And as is usually the case with Chinese food, there was far more on the plate than I could eat at one time. I now have lunch for tomorrow as well and all for the low low price of about $5. I'd definitely eat here again if I'm grabbing a quick lunch to go."

We got the jalenpeno chicken, magnolia beef, shrimp lomein and egg roll (sorry for the misspelling ) Everything was absolutely yummy and fresh. The egg roll was literally filled with cabbage wasn't bad tho. The lomein was on the ginger side 7/10 but the shrimp size is big! Service was good- it is cold in there so bring a jacket. It's also very reasonable pricing"

"I guess this restaurant just wasn't for me, they did have a few people there when we arrived and they had multiple people picking up to go food. So this is just simply my opinion because obviously others did like it. I ordered the Hot & Sour Soup I did not like it at all I tried eating it but the smell was overwhelming. It's an acquired taste for sure and I would never order it again. We also had an appetizer which was an egg roll, wonton and fried shrimp this was the best of everything I had I actually ate all of it. My entree was the sweet and sour pork with fried rice, I've had better at other places I didn't like the rice the pork was ok I think I was just over it because the soup was just horrible for my tastebuds. The service was really good they came to clear the table often and refilled our drinks. The ambiance is nothing to brag on I myself wouldn't try it again but I would suggest others do because they did have a lot of people picking up orders."

"Did look at my previous review and order the exact thing. The Wonton Soup is good, and the Egg Rolls. After eating at a Restaurant on Belaire, the Cheese Puffs were a big disappointment. Last time, they were lite, this time all wonton, no cheese. I ordered Chicken Kung Pao and I forgot the asked for NO celery...I love raw, not cooked. So, I spent the meal picking out the celery. There are plenty leftovers. Waitstaff are very nice. Place was busy."

Yesterday, I was craving for noodle soup but don't feel like fighting the traffic to my usual restaurants 2 miles away.My coworkers always ask me about Shanghai Inn restaurant. To be honest. I don't find the food here delicious. But since it's far away from Chinatown, I have to say just okay.I'd rather go to Panda Express for Americanized Chinese food or Mambo Seafood for shrimp fried rice. I don't have a strong stomach to experiment lunch at Shanghai Inn. I've been here a couple of times when I stayed at Studio 8 next door over a decade ago. I didn't like it then. But I'm willing to try again for my coworkers. Last time I was here 4 years ago I ordered noodle dish called ja chan mien 炸酱面. I ordered a noodle soup yesterday. They had similar runny gravy. Sorry, not my style. Then, the meats had absurd taste. The only thing saved this review from being a 1 star was the eggroll. I considered it authentic to Mandarin cuisine standard that I'm accustomed to. It's a popular lunch spot for some in Northwest side of town and Highway 290. But you just come here to eat food and don't use the bathroom. That was the tiniest men's restroom I've ever seen. Urinal was right in front of a door of one toilet. Another toilet was in front of tiny sink from last century. The sink was wet. I figured there must be running water. But I can't turn on the faucet to save my life.**63rd review of 2018**"

This place has been around for some time, so I don't expect new interior, but I am glad their delicious food has not changed over the last 43 years.Their yummy Texas sized egg rolls with shrimp are something you cannot get anywhere else. Always a fan of their wonton soup and rib appetizer with that sweet glaze. My wife went with the happy family lunch combo, comes with your choice of soup, we picked wonton....good broth but the wontons were not. The crab rangoon was very good, the miniscule egg roll was average. I got the General Tso's chicken lunch special. The chicken had little breading which is a good thing but it was very dry and chewy. The venetian blinds by our table were covered in a thick layer of dust, the soy sauce container on our table had stuff stuck to the side of it. I love supporting mom n pop places but it's a no for this place."

Their sesame chicken is actually quite good, once again it's because it's crispy!
