You can find these here, in Chinatown, and in Dallas, but Jin is one of the most popular in Texas for a reason. You can't get much better than Korean when it comes to all you can eat Korean barbecue. It's one of the best party meals out there and this is the exact location that I would send anybody to. It's always hearty and fun and it's always tasty, it's friendlier and usually has more available than the Chinatown location, and it's good for the Korean Community up here in the north and we all love it.The Chinatown and Dallas ones are good... sorry not Dallas, Plano... but this one is my fave."

One of the best naan in the area.-Service from our waitress, Mahi, was spectacular. She was very polite and came by often to check on us.The saag paneer was flavorful and had a plentiful amount of paneer, but sadly, the butter chicken lacked flavor and was a bit watered down. In a way, it kind of balances the score. The naan was amazing. It comes out freshly made so it's hot, crispy, and lightly buttered. There is no wow factor to make this a destination Indian buffet, but if you are around the area, it's not a bad option."

The place is very small and casual, and prices are good. The people who work there are nice and friendly. Knowing a little Spanish will help you to order, but if you don't speak Spanish and the person working there doesn't speak English, gesturing to the buffet will probably get your point across. If you are Salvadoran, you will not be disappointed in this place either. One evening, I had a last minute need to pick up food to feed 10 of my friends. About half of them were from El Salvador. I stopped by this place, and they got my huge order together in less than 15 minutes, including pupusas with cream and beans. Everyone thought the food was excellent. So there you go: Salvadoran-approved pupusas in buffet form. You can't go wrong!"

It is also a great spot for those of us who work at the hospital to grab a meal before or after work. I can only speak on the breakfast as some of us partook after our shift one day. Most of us had the breakfast buffet and it was absolutely delicious. They can make your eggs made to order so most of us had omelettes. They also made us very tasty waffles made to order. All the typical sides and breakfast accompaniments were great also. They are definitely a step above your typical breakfast buffet elsewhere. The service we received was what you would expect at a nice hotel establishment. If you come in the evening, they have a full bar as well. Came early on a Saturday Evening and wasn't busy at all. Started to do up the dinner crowd about 630-7pm when we left. They still have that private back room with a large screen. Looked like it was being used for karaoke at one point. Here's a rundown of what I can recall from what was served on our Saturday dinner:Seafood options:- Baked Mussels - Steamed Clams- Shrimp prepared in multiple ways [black pepper, fried, buttered shrimp, popcorn shrimp]. Only thing missing was cocktail shrimp. - Fried prawns - Fried Fish- Crawfish with a mix of shrimp and Mussels - Soft shell crab- Steamed fish- Vermicelli and Scallops [my favorite]- Fried squid Other hot bar items: typical of a Chinese buffet- Lo Mein- Fried Rice- Beef and Broccoli- Sautéed chicken- Chinese Egg roll- Fried Chicken- Potato Wedges- Fried Corn poppers- Fried Sweet Bread [kids were a fan]- Texas Toast- Crab Rangoon- Steamed veggiesDim Sum Bar- Chicken Feet- Banh bao [BBQ pork bun]- Steamed Pork Ribs - Sticky Rice in Banana Leaf- Chinese BroccoliSoups- Seafood Soup (same texture of the crab Maw Soup)- Hot and Sour SoupSushi Bar- Various Rolls: mostly traditional - Sashimi: Salmon, Yellowtail- Sushi: Eel, Tuna- Edemame - Seaweed SaladSalad/ fruit Bar- Lettuce, dressings [ranch and Italian]- Random toppings: cheese, raisins, bacon, egg, and I think chicken cubes(?)- Kim Chi- Tomato, Cucumber, Red onion vinaigrette saladDessert- Chocolate Cake- Strawberry pudding- Jello- Fruits: oranges and honey dew. Also had pineapple and peaches but definitely came from a can.- Individualized Ice cream cups: Vanilla, Chocolate, Strawberry sundae, Chocolate sundaeWhen we walked in, the hostess wasn't very welcoming. I don't think she even said anything to us. I just asked if we needed to check in with her or just seat ourselves. She just nodded and I told her our party. She sat us in a booth. The chairs felt new as they were quite firm. The hostess also asked what we'd like to drink without really informing us of any options so I just defaulted to sweet tea and waters. Btw, the water tastes straight up unfiltered tap. We made sure our kids drank from their water we brought from home. Our waitress was attentive to clean off used and finished plates. She even checked if I wanted a refill on my drink.Overall pretty decent and my kids enjoyed the options. I remember my parents taking us to Cafe East often with other family when I was young. Not many, if any, Chinese buffet options in the Sugar Land/Missouri City area so I'm sure it will do just fine. Nothing crazy spectacular about the place. Just the typical Asian buffet. Some suggestions I hope they would consider is to have extra silverware or utensils for guests to grab if desired. There were no Soup spoons readily available. Also would have liked to get new utensils at times without hunting down the wait staff. There wasn't any plain white rice available that I noticed. I did note a little concern that seafood can get messy and eating with your hands. Seeing other guests dig into their crawfish, crab, and peeling shrimp then licking their fingers. I was just thinking how people would return to the bar with filthy or not properly cleaned hands and touching the shared tongs to get more food. So I'd recommend to bring your own hand sanitizer or wipes. Or they could provide wipes at the table. Or providing gloves we can use to eat our seafood.Though they just opened, I do hope they add to their offerings of something unique. Probably more dependent on the season but like having dungeons crab or lobster (crab legs when available). Even if it's only 1 per person in the price. On our exit, another guest entering did ask how it was and if we'd return. We did happily say yes."

We ate there for lunch, I think it was about $15 a person which given the quality and quantity of food options I'm not sure how its possible! The service was friendly, waiter was extremely informative and patient with my inexperience, and we had a absolutely delicious experience. I got a small amount of everything I wanted to try and almost couldn't finish it, much less think about getting seconds. It's so easy to oversubscribe to food selections, I understand their "waste surcharge" or whatever they called it if you took much more than you eat. I somehow forgot to get a picture of the buffet but it was gorgeous! SO MANY food options, noodles, vegetables, seafood, just over abundance and it all seemed fresh, clean ,etc. no part of me was skeptical about food safety, and as I've gotten older I tend to look at that more :)As far as meats, they let you pick 3, you can see it in the bottom of my photo, there are three stacked plates. They are shaved super thin and at first don't seem like much food but if you finish it they'll refill them per request. They seem very generous, its just about not wasting massive amounts of food. We honestly almost forgot about the meats given how many other foods we got, and how delicious they were!"

I only came here because Mike Chen (aka, Strictly Dumpling) had a video about them on Youtube. I don't really know what I was eating, but the caldereta was really good, especially with rice. Besides hot foods, they also had orange slices and some desserts. This seemed like a small family-owned business. There weren't too many customers. It made me feel like the food just sits there and doesn't get replaced for fresh batches. There were so many signs about them charging for leftovers. They really don't want to waste food! I asked them if there was a difference between lunch and dinner, but there wasn't. I think lunch is just cheaper. There was plenty of parking. Bathroom is available. I ate here several years ago and remembering being very unimpressed hence I never returned. Seeing the new signage I decided to go back. First trip was for dinner about a week ago. The restaurant was empty when I arrived at 7:00 p.m. I ordered the chicken and vegetables that came with egg drop soup. The restaurant is attractive in its interior especially at night with the distinctive red glow of the lighting. My entree arrived less than 10 minutes after ordering and before I could finish my egg drop soup. The soup was ok but the chicken and vegetables were uninspiring and bland. I didn't really care to finish the meal. I would have rated this meal a 2.My second visit was for lunch today. During lunch they offer a buffet lunch. It's a small buffet but adequate. I sampled various items and they were all good. Nothing stood out but it was acceptable and I graded this meal as a 3. "I was super excited to try this place, the food looked so good online, so I grabbed a few coworkers and off we went! When we got here, it smelled so yummy inside and I loved how bright everything was. The waitress was so sweet and nice, and very attentive. Now the food, we ordered the chorizo fondue for the table, flavor wise, was just ok. It wasn't super melty, so it was really hard to get out of the bowl, and it only came with 3 tortillas, there was 4 of us! So we ate the rest with the chips. The chorizo was good and came with pico to top, but it just needed more seasoning overall for the whole dish. Then I ordered some tacos. The menu looked like they'd be street sized, small, so I asked if I could order 3 and she said yes. I order 2 fajita steak and 1 barbacoa. She said the barbacoa was her fave and I can see why. This is the only one that was truly flavored the best, was super juicy and tender and melted with each bite. The fajita steak was overcooked and lacked flavor as well. I like the onions, cilantro and lime on mine, but it didn't enhance the flavor at all. I love little places like this, so I'd like to give it another try and try something different. Only other thing as a takeaway is that you're charged for chips and salsa, and the one additional taco I ordered was $9. $5.99 for a sing le taco and +$3.99 to make it barbacoa. The one taco was more than the two, so pretty pricey in my opinion."

You can order the meat with your server and can get your veggies, noodles, sauce, and seafood in the buffet bar. We opted for the sukiyaki broth as the base and it was pretty flavorful. They have additional items you can order. I decided to order the raw lobster to cook in the broth. Decent size for the price but I could have skipped it. By looking at who actually eat here. Majority of patrons were Hispanic when I was here during lunch on a weekday. Since my foodie friend "loved" it, I had to check it out to prove him right. Also, it was only $12.99 for lunch. I could eat a simple lunch elsewhere for as the same price. Either way, I decided to check it out. So, it has standard Chinese buffet dishes and some other dishes belong to Chinese buffet in Texas. Such as pizza, Cajun seafood, baked potatoes, French fries and chicken nuggets etc. My first round to the buffet is usually what I want to eat as a pig (something I shouldn't eat because of health concern). I picked pork bbq ribs, chicken skewer, fried noodles and green beans. My second round is usually healthier options. That's when I began to notice, most of items were bland. I wonder if they don't want people to complain about Chinese food or they want people to season themselves. Hot and sour soup had no flavor, not hot nor sour. In fact, it was not even salty. Vietnamese spring roll was not tightly wrapped. I took a bite and everything just fell out. Fried dumpling had a solid meat filling. Because it was so solid, I can't get my fork out of the dumpling. Sushi was pretty but I couldn't taste the imitation crab. There were tasty dishes like stir fried clams (label says mussel), baked swai fish (Chinese catfish), pepper steak and kimchi (at fruit bar). Next time, if I ever come here, I would not order hot tea. They charged me $2.75 for tasteless jasmine tea. There were 2 bags. I think if they put 10 bags in there, it would still be tasteless because they used inferior tea from China. The ambiance looked nice with some Chinese and western decor. According to the sign, it was open since 1994. I had a feeling they stayed open during Covid pandemic. The floor tiles looked old but not dirty. My last few visits have been a little lackluster, marred by the subpar service and the skimpy fixings of their popular but ultimately disappointing lunch buffet. The kinks need to be ironed out, but the potential is still here. The first thing one will notice is their parking situation. It's a narrow lot, followed a tight and awkward backlot. Coming here during non-peak times might be best to get an ideal spot. The door looks like something out of a medieval decor leading into a place that screams old school brasserie vibes. Beyond the white tablecloths, well dressed wait staff, and bar, it can feel strangely feel little stale. Heat haters (#1) will appreciate their ultra cold AC temps.Like many places, the lunch buffet is a good starter for all the foods they offer. At $18, it's a solid lunch time but, despite not offering as many items as other places. I was surprised at how infrequently it was maintained: spillage around the buffet should be wiped immediately but the staff couldn't be bothered to oversee it.Food wise, there were hits and duds. On the plus side, the saag paneer was wonderfully creamy, naan was crispy and fluffy without being too oily. I thought the gobi manchurian was sweet in a good way and was pleasantly surprised with their tasty daal makhani. However, the basmati rice was incredibly dry, which is what happens when the sternos are on for too long. The same issue was happening with the vegetable pakoras and the tandoori chickens were very subpar. The tikka masala was lacking all around and the same goes for the navratan korma.Same issues are consistent during all of my visits. I really do hope they iron out these issues because I do think they can get past this and hopefully return to the reputation that I've always heard about.__________(#1) Mmmm, ventilation. For the first time I was looking at a buffet outside of Indian food, and with everything vegan, it couldn't get more inviting....The buffet is priced at $16.50 per adult and $8.50 per child, but there is an ala cart menu too if you wish to eat something specific. The spread is pretty good, while most have the base in tofu, or soy or oats, the texture and the variety still captured my interest and the flavors gave them their individuality. It should be noted that the carbs in the form of steamed rice, or brown rice, or even noodles, come saltless , the salt content is obtained from the various side dishes. There was tofu nuggets, spring rolls, sautéed brinjal, stirred fried vegetables, roasted tofu etc., to name a few. It would have been helpful if they had put up little labels with names as reference. Enjoyed the food while listening to the soft incomprehensible Chinese music that was playing. It was soothing and added to the good food mood, which itself was light and healthy. The sauce I make is very simple - spicy ponzu, chili powder, green chili, sweet garlic, and some green onion. If you like hot pot but hate sharing a pot between six people, shabu-shabu is a must try. It's hot pot, but everyone gets their own pot and hence their own choice of broth.Shabu Zone's broths are a little bland. I got the Spicy #2 and it was not spicy at all. This is easily remedied by following their suggestion of cooking your seafood first, which does add richness to the broth.A common complaint of hot pot is that all of the meats blend together. This is only true if you overcook your meat. Thin slices of beef take seconds to cook. If you leave it in the broth, then yes, you're getting overcooked, bland, stringy meat. #1 and #4 meats were very flavorful. I will say, two of the waiters had no idea which meat was which either, but they were able to bring us more on sight alone which I thought was hilarious. The seafood bar is not the freshest but it is adequate. Plenty of hot pot style vegetables, like four types of mushrooms. The service is lightning fast. Meat comes out in less than five minutes, and waiters are clearing plates every few minutes too. Impressive considering the restaurant was totally full with a 15 minute wait when I went on a Friday at 7PM.Overall, a great time to enjoy hot pot at the reasonable price of about $40/pp after tax and tip.
