Alexus N. "I've bookmarked this place for awhile now and finallyyyyy had the chance to try it. Definitely what bao bun dreams are made of. Let me get "the ugly" out of the way first. The reason why it didn't get 5 stars is because the employee assisting us was lacking enthusiasm and energy. It's fine, not all of us love what we do buttttttttt it didn't make me excited to order my food. In addition, the avocado chips recommendation was blah. I love avocados, but literally, it's just fried avocados. No real wow factor or stand-out seasoning on them. The good: Bulgogi Bao and Crab Daddy Bao. The Pork Belly Bao is okay. Mediocre. Perhaps the pork belly could have benefited from a touch more seasoning, to my taste buds at least. Overall, I enjoyed all the baos. The steamed bao bun itself is airy and not too dense. Interior is kept tidy and has large communal tables. I like the larger than life black board that serves as their ordering menu. I'll have to come back and try the other baos!"

I was coming from Chicago and I knew there is a big Vietnamese population in Houston and surrounding areas. This place was highly rated and it did not disappoint. It was very easy to find parking since they have a good size lot. Service was superb, they took good care of us. We ordered a variety of dishes but I did not taste all of them. We ordered crabby cream rolls, Fu Manchung wings, pho-licious, vermicelli boom cha y'all, and hot and mild wontonic. There was another dish but I forgot the name. Everything was tasty and filling. We actually came here when the old owners were still running this place. Quality wise I'm not sure how it is now but I hope it's the same."

It's conveniently along the 59 north feeder road, in the shopping center lining the road.Despite having dumpling in its name, I've found the dumplings to be mediocre compared to its nearby competitors. My water boiled fish was on the bland side. The cold cucumber appetizer was all right. I enjoyed the crispness. My friend really enjoyed the bbq pork buns.Overall nice spot. This time, we made a reservation, valet was accessible, things flowed smoothly, and we made the most of our first visit. The flavors are spot on, and RB is a top tier Houston dining experience. Everything is delicious. The fried chicken was moist and the accompanying sauces were perfect. The seafood ramen was delicious also. The empanadas and the butternut squash soup hit the spot as well. All in all-- Ruffles Black was fire and I can wait to return! Note: $5 valet required. Cheers!"

Bailey N. "Food:5/5Ambiance:5/5Service:5/5After having this place on my yelp radar for a minute, due to it's awesome reviews. I'm so glad I finally got to try it.You'll see in my photos that I ordered the fusion fried rice - Honey Sriracha chicken, and I also had a small fusion fries. I could've ordered just the honey Sriracha chicken and had two meals or more myself due to the amount they provided in that meal alone. But having seen the fusion fries in prior photos, I just had to indulge. All the food was excellent and it had my taste buds Poppin :). I would say that this place is definitely somewhere to go for a "cheat meal" as the majority of their menu is quite savory and saucy. But speaking of their menu, there are so many options that it can be overwhelming to any newbie. However, the beauty of that is that you can find so many things to suit your fancy here.I've definitely added this place to my list to bring friends when they are in town and looking for a great meal with this style of food.Being that it was my first time, I asked one of the employees for recommendations, and she was more than happy to give me some of her favorite choices , additionally, when cashing out, the gentleman at the register was very kind and helpful.I really look forward to going back and highly recommend this place to other people. It's great for families, a casual friend date, or just a nice and chill ambience for a casual couples dinner."

Every dish we ordered was 10/10. I'll start and say that it is first come first serve basis. You seat yourself and then you have to go to the bar to order food and drink. It was busy when we got there, but for good reason! We ordered drinks which were delicious and refreshing. Perfect in this Texas heat. Then we ordered (nearly) everything on the menu. There were 4 of us and we all wanted to try a variety of things. Firstly, the brisket was my absolute favorite dish of the night overall. It was tender, meaty, falling apart, and so fatty! It was flavored so well and I could not stop eating it. The crispy potatoes are absolutely a must as well to pair with any of the meat choices. The butchers cut was equally delicious with an Asian inspired chimichurri sauce and there was a bit of heat which paired well with the coconut scented rice. The vibe was relaxed and fun and the food and drinks were just perfect. Definitely want to come back and try their ribs and ramen!"

Jando S. "Despite the cramped seating, limited parking, and prices at the time (#1), I managed to come away loving the experience because the food was good and the service was beyond excellent. The latter is all the reason I plan on putting Taizzi Katy on my list of AYCE sushi go-tos.It's not much to look at. The interior is a bit on the smaller side and can probably comfortably fit 20 people. Whether it's the small'ish group tables in the front or the smaller 2 tops in the back, it can feel somewhat cramped. There are also seats by the bar, but given all the items I tend to order, the table is best. The menu is so rich with options that it's a fun adventure just choosing things from the menu. I appreciate that they've labeled each of their items based on whether it's raw, spicy, and even if it will take extra time. Coupled by the fact it's a picture menu, along with the "preferred cut" for sushi and sashimi of thin / medium / thick is unheard of to me. Even the rolls have a breakdown of the interior, exterior, and whether or not there is sauce on each one. I'm so impressed. There's been so many rolls (#2) that only a handful (#3) truly stand out. I loved the::: Elvin (shrimp, tempura, crab, cucumber, topped with salmon, tuna):: Final Destination (soft shell crab, spicy crab, asparagus, topped with tuna and salmon) :: SpamHolic (spam, eel sauce):: Mistake (mixed fish with spicy mayo, eel sauce):: SalmonAss (salmon, crabmeat, cream cheese, avocado, topped with salmon with spicy mayo, eel sauce)I was also a fan of my nigiri and thought my favorite pieces were the fatty salmon, yellowtail, salmon egg, and scallop. For all sashimi, I prefer the thick cut and love ordering a bunch at once. The fish isn't going to be mind blowing quality wise, but for an AYCE spot, it is definitely a big thumbs up.There's a lot to appreciate with their hot foods as well. I think their sushi towers are fun on the food porn front and the grilled collars (yellowtail, salmon) are fabulous. No one talks about their "monkey brains" or baked mussels enough, so I recommend it all for any one who wants something cooked. It's also important to note that soda is included with the AYCE deal.Service wise, they hit it out of the park. Our waitress was attentive, polite, and went out of her way to ensure they subbed right items for allergies at our table. She was also accommodating my party every step of the way. At the end she didn't hassle us to leave, but was so kind from start to finish. I know Taizzi takes their customer service seriously and for that I'm extremely grateful. I can't wait for my next visit.___________(#1) During my first time here, it was three different levels of pricing, which became sort of confusing. It's now just a straight $36 for everything.(#2) I'll never remember all of their names(#3) Unintentional pun"

DeWayne R. "Remembered, my first experience here not being very good (about two years ago), due to their being an overzealous waiter who talked our ears off about everthing from sneakers to hats and that the Korena Fried Chicken was overcooked. I always feel like some places deserve a second chance, so since I work close to this location I decided to give it a redo.Took a trip during a late lunch break, after the noon rush, and found the place pretty empty. Interestingly enough, it still took someone over f ive minutes to even acknowledge that I was even there, even though there was a lady behind the bar - just steps from me. Someone finally came and took my order of the chicken strips, fries, and a drink. While waiting, I noticed that some of the tables weren't clean. I'm sure that the lunch rush was just ending, but no one was really attending to the tables during my time there. My food came out, after a little wait, and the presentation was OK, but the fry order looked a bit light and I had to ask for ketchup, even thought there was a little place for it on the fench fry holder. I was then given half a container of ketchup (see images). The taste of the spicy sauce was nice, but after a single bite of each chicken strip the batter fell right off of the strip. I don't recall ever seeing that before. I don't know what to do after this visit. I guess we'll see."

I want to be able to accommodate my guests with best possible experience. I spoke to the cashier, I believe they can deliver the experience that I am hoping for. While I was there, I ordered a Green Thai Curry Boudin Eggroll. It was a takeout. So, I didn't expect to be anything fancy. But when I opened the box... Wow, I was amazed by the presentation. The flavor, OMG, my taste buds were dancing in my mouth. So many exciting flavors and perfect combination of sweet, savory and spiciness. I was apprehensive about the hype since the Yelp rating was only 3 stars, but I came here this past weekend for a birthday dinner, so I was willing to give it a shot and hope for the best. We were fortunate enough to try the Omakase custom experience ($195 per person if you're wondering), and it did not disappoint in the least. There were 9 courses, starting with several fresh raw fish dishes, then tuna and wagyu tacos, progressing to popular dishes like their miso black cod, wagyu and crab surf and turf, and finishing with an assortment of sushi rolls. I cannot say I had a bad dish. There were some chewy pieces of wagyu in the wagyu tacos, but everything else was fantastic and left me wanting more. The stand-outs for me were the miso black cod, the wagyu and crab, and the king crab roll. These all had really great flavor combinations, and I can understand the buzz around these dishes. Least favorite was the uni--I've never had it before to compare the experience, but the flavor just didn't do it for me. Our service was decent--they could have probably stopped by a little more often, but maybe I am used to Uchiko where they're very attentive and engaging. Would I come back? Connie H. "I was drawn to this restaurant right away from the photos of the to go boxes. I am completely blown away by how fancy these were (a little suitcase for my beef noodle soup?!?!...and not only a suitcase, but little compartments for each little side dish that came with it). This creative packaging hits the spot for a graphic designer eye. I love how they had very unique side dishes that came with some of the dishes. Each was a very small amount, but loved that they included things like seaweed salad, which was a huge plus for me.The food itself was good, but I am sure that the presentation elevated the meal for me. That being said, I'm still giving this restaurant 4 stars. The menu is HUGE (pretty much all diff genres of different asian food), and I only tried a handful of items, so I'm still intrigued enough to come back to try more. Oh also, they are still not open for Dine In. And also a bit understaffed. Hope they get more staff or open up for dine in soon! Some items I tried:- Beef noodle soup: Loved the presentation. It included HUGE pieces of meat. The noodle texture was PERFECT, a good amount of chew. Reminded me of handmade noodles. But the soup was slightly too salty for me. Let's say, I had no desire to drink the soup after eating the contents.- Popcorn chicken: my kids loved this, as always. But after taking this home, (I wish I could have tried this RIGHT after it was cooked) , the outside was still crispy, but the inside was just so tough. Not sure if I had an accurate view of this since I ate it at room temperature (pretty much cold). I have high expectations for my popcorn chicken though. Wish the meat was more tender/soft even after cooling off a bit.- Japanese Chicken Curry: This tasted as I thought it was. Similar to the one we make at home with the curry blocks. Was decent (a hint too spicy for my kids), but nothing too special.- Popcorn Chicken over Minced Pork Rice: Thought we were getting taiwanese braised mince pork AND popcorn chicken over rice. But it pretty much just looked like popcorn chicken over rice. Didn't see anything related to minced pork in there. A little confused and not sure if our order was wrong, but in the end, it still tasted pretty good. This was slightly different from the appetizer popcorn chicken because it has some extra little things in it (possibly some pickled veggies or something) to go with our rice and give it a little kick. I surprisingly enjoyed this dish even though I did not think I'd want to eat popcorn chicken with rice. Thanks for a fun to-go box meal. I'll be back to try more things on the menu next time!"

The rice had a buttery/garlicky taste that was oh so good. The different meats within the kamayan all had their own flavors and textures. I was extremely impressed that I liked all of them.
