"DELICIOUS!!! I had their Carne en su jugo and it was deliciously Good and add some fresh tortillas. I was satisfied with my meal and service. I recommend Tio Luis"
"I haven't gotten to try Medi yet, but was excited to see the old Hush place be renovated into yet another Mediterranean restaurant in Chicago. To be honest, I'm not sure how well this restaurant will do compared to Lyra or Aba, but considering it's in a totally different area there is some potential! Service was great and decor was nice and club-esque with some classiness to it. There was supposed to be a live performance after our dinner (Friday around 7pm), but we didn't want to wait long for it. I got the tough love cocktail to start; however, this wasn't what I imagined - it was much more on the sweeter side with little spice. We started with the hummus, and this was delicious with the warm pita. DI loved the crispy chickpeas that garnished the dish. My friend and I also shared the fattoush, which was a nice refreshing salad, and the steak frites. The steak frites was super small, but it was deliciously cooked and the Lebanese potatoes were so tasty. The price was expected for an upscale city restaurant. I would recommend trying this spot out for a cute night out, to see the live performance maybe, or a for a swanky date night!"

Visit Restaurant Page"This place is great! I've been on a recent search around Chicago to find the most affordable breakfast restaurants amd so far I have found a couple. Breakfast entrees ranging under $10 a plate and it's a damn good meal.My husband actually lured me to this one by saying he was treating his wife to a free meal. Who says no to free food? Not this Yelp Elite! I just wanted the basics - eggs, bacon, hashbrowns, and toast. I got mine for about $7 and I was very happy with my meal. Everything was tasty and a good sized portion. Worth every bit of what my husband paid for. We also got a side of pancakes to share which was nice and fluffy and sweet to eat. The servers were very friendly as well and the restaurant was nice and clean. Very inviting. I will definitely add Sunshine Reataurant to my rotation of go to breakfast places in the Chi."
"Fullerton Restaurant is a diner located on the northwest corner of Fullerton and Western. The interior has the look and feel of a diner, with a bunch of booths and a small counter with stools setup. There is a back room that is apparently reserved for larger dining groups that would not fit at a standard booth. My love and I dined here on a recent Saturday afternoon. There was a decent number of customers, but we were happy that no other customers were really close to us during our mealtime. The service was prompt and courteous. The menu is thick with lots of food options, many of which you would expect at a diner. I ordered a reuben sandwich and my love went with a bacon burger. For a slight upcharge (looked like a dollar to $1.50 depending on the menu item) you can make your meal deluxe by adding on a cup of soup and a side of fries which is a pretty decent deal. The reuben was tasty, but the star of the plate was the creamy side of thousand island dressing that I used to dip everything, including the steak fries. The pickle spear was crispy if you like that sort of thing. My love enjoyed her burger and fries. Both of us were full after enjoying our lunch at the Fullerton Restaurant."
"I swear all the Beatrix locations are the same - mid food with spacy service. Some ingredients weren't listed in the menu (namely a VERY garlicky condiment) and my sandwich wasn't warm at all. Our server had to be asked several times for simple things. If you're at Northwestern, the food here is better than hospital - but not by much. Pass."
"Okay I love this place. Amazing customer service. The staff is so friendly and greeted me with a free bowl of soup while I waited on my to-go order. The soup was so good. Tons of veggies, chicken, and bow tie pasta. The service was so phenomenal and the staff was so attentive while making my order, making sure everything was cooked how I wanted it to be. I can tell this will be a go-to for me in the future."
"Oh this place is a Hidden Gem first time here and the service and food was on point. Very reasonable Kimberly our waitress was so nice and made excellent suggestions for the food. We will be back. Atmosphere was family friendly."
"06/11/24 - Jest anudder day in paradise 73 degrees & sunny. Walked to Express Auto to check on my cars body work then Moised on down to Yellow Rose Cafe 1.3 miles from my house w/my brother in law to grab some breakfast. We both ordered the Sidewalk Special for $8.99. What do you get for $8.99 you might ask? Well I'm going to tell you. 2 eggs, 2 sausage, hash browns, 2 pieces of toast & coffee. Yellow Rose is a quaint little cafeteria style joint with/a counter & bar stools & tables. Good server that's friendly &. Chatty. Nice place, good vibe & good inexpensive food"
"Classic old school seafood restaurant great hosts and super service to compliment great seafood"
"This place is THE best place in town for breakfast! The meals are affordable, and the portion sizes are VERY large. We split one breakfast entrée between the two of us, and still walked away stuffed. The omelet we had was the fluffiest and lightest we have had in our lives! (I'm not exaggerating)They were out of the hash browns, so we opted for the fries - and I must say, they were very addictive. The ambience is casual, and very much like a usual diner experience."
"The girlfriend was craving crepes so we came on down to CornerStone Cafe. It's a very cute cafe located off Clybourn. Initially, when I saw the prices I was a little concerned because I feel like $19 a plate is on the higher end of brunch spots but when it came out I understood why. The portions are HUGE. Not only that, they are delicious too. Our service was wonderful the whole time and very attentive as well. I think we will be coming back here often."
"I love this place. It's warm and welcoming, and the service is excellent; someone is always available to pour you more coffee, etc. Pauline's looks like it's been there forever--not quite forever, but almost 30 years. I like the knick-knacks, collectibles, etc.I ordered Biscuits and Gravy; they are perfect and a nice portion. My friend ordered the Corned Beef Hash with breakfast potatoes and two eggs in any style. It's off the beaten path, so finding a parking spot should be fine."

I can't put into words how I love this place. The tacos, burritos are delicious. Food is fresh and mouthwatering. I can't get enough of the margaritas. I came here alone last year, the I brought my cousin, the my bestie and her husband, then my friend was in town from London. I keep bringing people. The staff is wonderful. I highly recommend, if you go, contact me, I wanna enjoy with you.

Mya is one of the SEXIEST restaurants I have visited in Chicago. Recently opened this past October, this NEW, modern Mediterranean restaurant in Rivernorth is definitely an experience, with their FIRE DANCERS, speciality cocktails and BEAUTIFUL decor!Eats I tried:Baba Ghanoush Potato BorakGrilled Octous BBQed Half Chicken Biryani Ora King SalmonRicotta Fritter Drinks I tried:Smoke Show - made with Mezcal!Apple of my Eye - includes Basil Hayden & Apple SyrupI can't even pick a dish that was my favorite because everything was so full of flavor! I'm such a fan of Mediterranean food and the flavor composition of these dishes were just awesome. The presentation of the dishes as well were top-notch! The skin on the salmon was cooked so crispy, and the meat was so soft; it melted in your mouth! The potato borak was excellent -fried dough full of seasoned mashed potatoes! I LOVED THE DRINKS! They were very well made and creative and they have quite a few specialty cocktails to try! You also didn't have to worry about missing out on entertainment, because the fire dancer came out about every 30 minutes or so; she also switched up and danced with scarves! Definitely a Mediterranean experience!Perfect for a date night or girls night out - make a reservation and experience Mya yourself!

Diners are my favorite kind of restaurant... they are the mother I never had. I walked over here while my car was getting an oil change at Berman Nissan. My dog was with me so I called in an order from outside. Much to my delight, the waitress came out with a table and a chair just for me, saying "here, we make you to feel like you are inside." I fully intended to just take my order to a quieter street and eat it on the grass but this was so much better! I really felt taken care of by this sweet lady. My dog really liked her, too. *note to others that they are not equipped to have actual outside dining as an option for everyone, she was just going above and beyond to be sweet*The food is good, standard diner fare. Just what I was looking for.

Fullerton restaurant is known to historically be a family own establishment that serves the community with home style diner food that feeds the stomach. This diner is your standard diner with window seating and run down carpet, black coffee and nice servers. I order the huevos rancheros dish and it was only $10.95 which is super affordable. While I didn't take a photo there was a mountain of Mexican rice paired with two tostada like entrees filled with salsa eggs and beans. Very filling but I would've liked my tortilla on the side. I definitely plan to return and try other dishes.

This is always my favorite stop over to dine when I'm in Streeterville. The food is amazing . Today we had the ham provolone on a crossaint along with a delicious side salad! The service is always great. Friending and correct . It's a nice place to dine . It could be casual or a bit sophisticated if you'd like . I also checkin in the bakery section because I love to get the angel food muffins or cupcakes The coffee and tea is great also

Today we sat at the counter. I prefer it to a table. It makes it a true a diner experience for me.
Visit Restaurant Page"This modest diner is a sort of real-life version of the 1942 Edward Hopper painting, "Nighthawks." It's a living museum of urban America in the '30s and '40s. The narrow eatery with its 13-stool counter is unpretentious and immaculately clean, and the food is simple and relatively inexpensive. It's a treat to watch the action on the griddle and witness the sizzle and aroma of multiple items cooking at once. Theirs was an "open kitchen" long before that term was invented! Expectedly, the short-order menu featuring breakfast standards and familiar sandwiches is neither trendy nor diet-friendly. Steak n' eggs? Of course. Salad? Don't make me laugh. Nearly every item is loaded with carbs and/or fat. Moreover, the cook keeps squirting a yellowish liquid onto the grill to prevent food from sticking. Never mind, it's okay to indulge once in a while. The double cheeseburgers are yummylicious, and we absolutely must return to have breakfast here. The friendly banter among regulars makes this a good place to go if you're feeling lonely."
"I had dinner with a friend after work here! We sat at a table facing a mirror. The interior is cool! Low lighting with the upscale feel. Entrees were huge satisfying portions. My steak frites could've been enough for two people. The meat tasted really good when it was hot but then tasted alright once it cooled down. The tacos were really good & saucy, but a bit salty."
"First time here the food was plenty I order pancakes, egg whites, grits and steak with was delicious I'm typically not a a steak person but sense it was a special occasion with my Husband Why not' he recommended we go to this restaurant to my surprise the food was great we will return"
"This is a great old fashioned breakfast and lunch place. Been coming here for years and the worst thing I ever had was not bad. Usually I get the Managers Special or the American Skillet. They'll readily substitute cheddar for the American cheese for me. Yesterday I had the Montrose skillet (bacon, sausage, ham, and swiss cheese). It was insanely good. Mexican burrito was also great. It's always too much food. You'll either eat till you want to die, leave some on the plate and regret it later, or split a meal. Those are your options. Live with them.If you don't order the pancakes instead of toast, you're a fool.Wonderful service by the best waitresses and busboy in town. They should get bonus stars for the rooster decor."
"I adore small restaurants like Louie's. Very friendly staff, great service, and great breakfast food. I felt like I was at my aunt's house. Our waitress was chatty, kept cracking jokes and always made sure we were good and didn't need anything else. I wish I'd caught her name because she was bomb, but I did notice most staff were the same way with the other patrons. You could tell they all love what they do which was pretty awesome. I'm not in Forest Park often for breakfast but when I am again, this will be my go to."
"Like a local Waffle House, this popular (shameless anyone?) diner is a level up from the chain. Loved it for a Saturday morning comfort food situation. When we entered, everyone kept saying hey and welcome and were genuinely inquiring on how we were. They felt like paid actors. Still suspicious about that. The server was attentive and quick. The menu is huge but true to brunch and breakfast menus, it was the same/similar stuff in different combos. The egg and has brown and toast breakfast was simple but hit the spot. Eggs how you want them. Hash browns very potato in texture. Like chunky. In a good way. All the bread we ordered came out in one basket. Loving that. The strawberry pancake was def some pie filling stuff and the whipped cream was canned but hey we knew what we were doing when we ordered. No regrets. Coffee was a bit weak but in a nostalgic diner way. And they were always ready to refill. Love that."
"*The stars are for the donuts*I have only been here for the donuts, especially for the Alaskan donut. I have order that gargantuan thing twice already! To be honest, $10 for that thing is not terrible and it can come in a 50/50 split of glazed and chocolate icing. However, I love me a good monte cristo, which is basically 2 slices of french toast with meat and cheese in the middle. I ordered 3 monte cristos this time, and for $10, there are better monte critstos out there. Their french toast were smaller and not very fluffy. I didn't taste any maple syrup, and there wasn't much flavor outside of the meat and cheese.7/10 for donuts."
"My love and I stumbled upon Lucky Grill Restaurant one Saturday afternoon after some window shopping in the 'hood. This Lucky Grill is part of a strip mall on Milwaukee Avenue (there is a second location further northwest in the city). It was pretty busy with the brunch and lunch crowd, but we received pretty good service overall (other than not getting our water glasses refilled). As you can imagine with a diner such as this, there is a sprawling menu and admittedly it took me a few minutes to make my choice. I went with the British Breakfast, a dish with two eggs (scrambled), two pieces of sausage, hash browns, American cheese, and two mini waffles. I'm not sure what was the "British" part of this breakfast (hey - American cheese!), but it was a tasty and filling meal. My love ordered a cheeseburger which came with onion rings, a cup of cole slaw, pickle and tomato, and a bowl of soup. The bowl of cream of broccoli soup was very large, and so we each had leftovers from our respective meals to take home."
"There isn't much that can be said about this place except that it's the closest thing I can get to Waffle House, in the north! Despite how people may feel, they are the perfect place for breakfast comfort food and they are super reasonable. I always get a big breakfast from them that includes a waffle (or pancakes), hash browns, eggs, toast, and grits...... and Orange juice in a cup that may or may not be the cleanest. It doesn't matter - I'll keep going back :-)"
"Hands down the best grits I've had in decades. DECADES! 10 out of 5 stars.Omelets were delicious too. 5 out of 5 stars.Friendliness of staff was not too bad. 4.5 out of 5 stars.Overall: 5 out of 5 stars"
"The place we were going to, Eris, was closed for the day. For an event. Who has the money to buy out all of Eris for a whole day? Someone with too much money but very good taste. And they didn't invite me so I don't like them, whoever they are. We've been going out to dinner with our best friends, Chuck and Sally for four decades. Well I used to go out to eat with Chuck when we were poor graduate students, and a couple of spouses later we were still going out to eat. We've ate at a lot of winners and some losers, but because we make more money now, we haven't been to a disappointing place in a long time. Maybe we were overdue. So Lola's is across from Eris, and we already paid for parking, so overdressed we walked into this newly remodeled diner. Great friendly service, but none of us finished our lunch. Mediocre food. Kind of expensive for a diner."
"Kappy is a friendly, casual dining experience. Lots of diners are regulars, my husband and I included. The service is excellent, and the waiters and waitresses go out of their way to be accompanying. Prices ate reasonable. On Tuesday they have a "Buy one entree, , take one home for free. It's from a special selection on the menu I recommend Kappy's"
"Definitely a throwback type diner. Food was good. Service was efficient. I didn't see the special menu at the front and we weren't told about it at the table. I would have ordered something from there if I knew. Oh well."
"Perfect!!!! Great family joint! Growing up in Niles, but while being away for almost 25 years, my Dad still lives down the street. This location used to be the old Ihop. Great place to take my dad when I come into town and get him some home cooking. He loves coming here. The service is out of this world, the prices are cheap and the food is just like home!"
"Why to come here: - good breakfast food with big portions - fair prices- outdoor seating that allows dogs - pretty easy to get a table, especially if you go around dinner - easy street parking Most recently, I had the corned beef hash which was very good. It came with eggs and pancakes."
"Came in for late breakfast or early lunch a few days ago. Got a coke and spicy bacon cheddar skillet. The food is good diner food. I think what makes it special is that it's a restaurant in a skyscraper. Sometimes on the news they interview people in diners. Think it would be neat if they interviewed customers in here and listened to their thoughts on topics of the day. The skillet has jalapenos in it so you get little kicks of spice but it's not overly spicy."
"Ok so I use to have a Steak 'n' Egger on River Road up in Mt Prospect years ago when my Ma & Pa lived in the area, but like many places they disappeared. Fast forward driving down Cermak I passed a Steak 'n' Egger & made a mental note to stop in. Well today was that day.Steak 'n' Egger is on the corner of Cermak & Racine. I had to stop by. Steak 'n' Egger is your typical 50's/60's diner w/stainless steel soffit, SS back splashes & SS kickplates under the counter w/barstools . The walls behind the servers have menu items along w/menus on the counter you can order from. They have a bunch of cool memorabilia on the walls of items from a different eraLike the old diners they advertise w/some of their specials. Today I ordered a good old standard breakfast of 2 eggs over easy, 2 sausage Pattie's, 2 pieces of bacon & 2 pancakes. The old 2-2-2-2 special for $8.88. Add in an order of extra crispy hash browns & you have a simple basic meal. This diner is open 24hr a day so if your in the area & have a hankerin fee sum vittles stop on in. Good basic decent food for a good price. Since they're open 24hrs you kin get vittles any time of da day or night, breakfast, lunch or dinner all good. I will definitely be back"
"This place is old and worn, but gives you a real sense of nostalgia. A true Chicago diner. Filled with regulars dressed in well worn Bears attire talking sports and many young adults looking like they're nursing hangovers. lol I listened in on glassy eyed college kids talking about their Bumble hookups while I ate my breakfast. It seemed fitting. Lol The menu is very old school. Skillets, omelettes, hash browns etc.. You're not going to get trendy menu options, but that's not meant as a negative. I enjoy old diners sometimes. You can schlep in in your sweats and not feel the need to impress.I had a chorizo skillet. Didn't love the jarred jalapeños, but the chorizo wasn't overly greasy which was a win by itself. -I've had some really greasy ones in other diners. Service was good. Friendly. I'd never go out of my way to eat here, but if I lived in the neighborhood I might show up if I wanted a very casual sit-down breakfast. Grabbed a Butterfinger shake on my way out. It was the kind you can easily drink (eat?) with a straw. Not my favorite consistency for a shake, but since I ate it on the drive home, it was kinda perfect."
"This is it. To me this is a Northwest side treasure. An actual counter to eat and drink coffee at. What I also enjoy, is I meeting people from the neighborhood. Grab a newspaper and go get something to eat."
"Cozy, pristinely preserved piece of Chicago circa 1964. Must be experienced to be believed. Great omelet, loving service.Oh, yes, and if you get there around 5:30 in the evening on a Tuesday or a Wednesday (thanks Mark Brown), you will meet Fred, who survived the Battle of the Bulge, just turned 100 years old, and still drives."
"Been coming here for many years I always enjoy the food... I have been wanting pancakes for 3 months and finally chose to come here! The only downside was the bacon was cold cold made for a weird aftertaste. Overall food and service was great!"
"Roux is a bit pricey for its cafe environment, but what does it say that I keep going back to try different things? I love the light and airy vibe and general layout of this spot, and the fact that you just order at the counter first then find a seat. The catfish plate was delicious and big with three large fillets that tasted quite fresh, a good coleslaw, and a ton of fries. I would've actually liked a regular tartar sauce instead of the Old Bay-flavored remoulade but it was still good. Grits were a bit plain even with the cheese--I'm sure it'd be even more flavorful with more add-ons. The cinnamon roll is expensive at $7 but it's huge and warm and comes with an overflowing cascade of melty cream cheese frosting--definitely a dessert for sharing! Salted chocolate chip cookie ($3) is the crispy type with a generous scattering of flaky salt on top. I liked it but I think it could've used a bit more chocolate. I also recently tried the blueberry scone ($4) because it's huge and looks so tempting and chock-full of blueberries. It too is solid--I loved the sugar on top and it's soft and not too dense, but probably not worth going out of the way for (still good if you're craving a scone, though!).I like that there's a station where you can get some water and also to-go containers if you need them. Lines can get a bit long on the weekend but it moves fairly quickly. I think this is a solid spot!"
"Today's breakfast special:Two pork chops (and they were good!), two eggs, hashbrowns, toast.$4.99! Beat THAT with a stick! $20.14 for three huge breakfasts!"
