My son said that we had to experience Eppel's before leaving Chicago. I'm so glad we did -- what a lovely place!The menu is extensive. We each ordered our breakfast favorites -- corned beef hash, crepes, eggs benedict, hashbrowns, bacon, eggs and pancakes. Everything was freshly prepared, well-seasoned and so satisfying. Portions were very generous. Coffee and drinks were refilled continuously.The service was simply wonderful from beginning to end. Our waitress was so amazing in making sure we had more than what we needed. She then wrote us the sweetest note of thanks and holiday wishes on our check.Great old school, diner atmosphere with the most hospitable people. We'll make our way back the next time we're in Chicago!

Long story short, the food was sub-par and the french toast was dry. The worst part was that they didn't provide any syrup. I had to go find syrup elsewhere.
