Park View Diner

The older Latina woman and older heavy-set white guy are like a bad comedy team. There appears to be no ordering system as the woman writes nothing down so she has to keep repeating herself. The man doesn't seem to know even the simple Spanish words on their menu.There were two people cooking and unfortunately we got the guy who likes to brown the scrambled eggs. The chilaquiles were watery and bland and had a LOT of shredded iceberg lettuce. The pancakes were OK, but it they look completely different depending upon who makes them. I can't believe this place has survived for so long. We hoped to find a good place for breakfast, but this isn't it. Disappointed we didn't just go to Don's on Western. Now that place is an awesome diner!

CASH ONLY. Chilaquiles is SO GOOD here. I got it with chorizo with scrambled eggs and it was delicious. I almost finished the whole plate but I was so full. My friend got the same dish but with over and easy eggs with steak and she said it was also good. Whatever you get with your chilaquiles, it will be delicious. It comes with housemade salsa in a bottle and it's so good. They make 30 pounds of it every week. I had the cucumber and lime drink and it was slightly sweet and very refreshing. It paired well with the chilaquiles. The space and seating area is intimate and smaller, but it def has a homey feel and you get to watch what goes behind the scenes behind the counter as they cook and prepare ingredients. The owner is super nice and welcoming. He explains the menu very well. I will def come back here again to try their other dishes!

Okay I love this place. Amazing customer service. The staff is so friendly and greeted me with a free bowl of soup while I waited on my to-go order. The soup was so good. Tons of veggies, chicken, and bow tie pasta. The service was so phenomenal and the staff was so attentive while making my order, making sure everything was cooked how I wanted it to be. I can tell this will be a go-to for me in the future.

I love a good diner, but hadn't stopped here as it is cash only. Finally I had time and cash and decided to make the visit. It definitely has the diner vibe, with the open kitchen, the cushion barstools, and the lovely breakfast to lunch selections. The lady, who I believe is the owner, is the sweetest and just the nicest person in the world. I told her I had just moved to the neighborhood and gave me complimentary soup, which was lovely on this rainy day. I got a milanesa torta, and I definitely did the wrong choice. It is not the best torta in my life, but that's on me for not getting the breakfast options. I saw the omelets being made looking quite appetizing and the pancakes being made on the grill (fluffiest things I have ever seen). Will come back here for a proper diner breakfast next time!

Great homemade food and really nice folks that really do their best to take care of you. They're very conscientious about making sure everybody's getting what they ordered and prepared how they want it. Made the rounds several times asking people specific questions. Nice place to hang out for breakfast or lunch.

Cozy neighborhood breakfast spot with great service and standard breakfast/lunch diner offerings. You feel a part of the neighborhood as soon as you walk in.

Nice little neighborhood diner for an affordable, fillIng breakfast or lunch. The man working behind the counter was extremely friendly and gave us a newspaper to read while waiting for food. He recommended the chilaquiles, which were bomb and I see becoming a common hangover go to. Also tried the pancakes and they were pretty good, would have been better if I weren't so shy to ask for more syrup.. The man serving us gave us a big bottle of a yummy homemade salsa to top our chilaquiles and hashbrowns with, I'd highly recommend adding a lot of it . Will definitely be coming here often, and you can't beat the price! Also just to note, it's cash only so you can come with it or use their ATM

Old clean charming diner. Wasn't expecting much but WOW. Very fresh, with a simply delightful take on traditional Mexican fare. Everything was clearly homemade save for the chopped lettuce and tomatoes! We found this restaurant after landing at Midway. Now considering an annual trip to Chicago just to dine here again. Yeah...that good.
