"**Great Service****Fantastic Coffee**** Homemade Meals****Fun Decor**Possibly one of the best Fredo Cappuccinos I've ever had. Stopped in after a day at Lincoln Park Zoo. Spanakopita, Bougatsa, everything was great and tasted very homemade.I leave you with just this. This place is legit Greek. Go there and enjoy. We will be back!"
"Warm and inviting cafe in Humboldt Park with excellent coffee and bomb vegan donuts! We live in the neighborhood and were excited to check out Café Calidá. There's nothing like it in the neighborhood, our options are either very expensive drip coffee or Dunkin Donuts so this cafe is a welcome addition to the neighborhood. The prices are very reasonable especially for the quality of the coffee. When you walk in there's the coffee bar and then a large open space in back with plenty of seating for hanging out or working. I tried the cafe con leche and it was the perfect amount of sweetness. The ube donut was also SO GOOD and vegan! Even if you're not vegan, it was better than a regular donut. They also had a lot of other flavors like maple, horchata and chocolate. If you're not a coffee lover they also have matcha and chai lattes! Definitely worth checking out if you're in the neighborhood!"

Visit Restaurant Page"This was my first time here and was pleasantly surprised when I arrived around 10:30 and did not have to wait to be seated on a Saturday morning. However, it did fill right up after being seated. Everything on the menu looked amazing and I'll definitely be back to try everything else. The guava nectar was too good! The caribella skilled was good, but could've used some hot sauce of some sort- I did like how they used plantains instead of potatoes. The protein lovers skillet was packed full of several proteins and veggies! The pancakes were okay in my opinion, fluffy but not very flavorful. The wait for food was not too long, but a bit longer due to the space being full of customers. The prices are very affordable too! I would definitely recommend this spot and will be back!"
"Elevate is one of my favorite coffee shops in the area. They always have a great selection of standard/seasonal drinks and their breakfast sandwiches are yummo! Ordering online is easy, but they also have a cute, cozy indoor area that has a few tables if you want to enjoy your coffee inside. The barista is also great!"
"Wow! Engine Coffee is the real deal!Located in a cute storefront in the West Town? UK Village neighborhoods, this small spot offers big customer service and an even bigger heart. As I walked up, a man looking down on his luck was in front of the building. The guy working inside came out and asked him if he would like a cup of coffee. That just warmed by heart to see such gracious kindness.Once inside, the room has vintage charm in an uncluttered way. Old hardwood floors, high urban loft ceilings and several seating options to choose from. We ended up sitting up in the elevated front window. It was great for people watching with a lot of sunshine too.My son loved his cappuccino and my oat mile latte was delicious. They were rich and smooth, just the way I prefer my coffee. My son picked up some pastries to bring home and later told me he enjoyed them as well.I will definitely return!"
"I chose this place because it was very close to my spa appointment and I have some time to spare before my spa day. Right when I walked in, you could smell the amazing aromas of the coffee and espresso in here. I ordered a flavored latte and an amazing pastry that I still dream about to this day. The coffee was delicious and the cinnamon sugar croissant was delectable. Great coffee spot!"
"Stopped by here for the 2nd time getting off work to grab the cheese n potatoe empanada, and it was equally as good as the first time. I must say it was smaller just like the interior of the store but flavorful/unique things come in small sizes. Very beautifully decorated with cute outdoor seating, you have to stop by."
"On a recent trip to Chicago, I found myself visiting Stan's Donuts daily. You have to get there early, because they sell out of some popular flavors early. The donuts are a little pricy, but the quality was excellent and service prompt and friendly despite the long lines. I tried all the donut types including jelly and custard filled, cinnamon rolls, twists, buttermilk, cake and apple fritters, but my absolute favorite was the lemon pistachio old fashioned. I'd come back for this every day if I could, I enjoyed that much."
"Cash only - tasty eats - good for a stop when passing through but make sure you have money - breakfast was good"
"Tary Coffee House, a recent addition to Chicago's vibrant downtown scene, offers a unique culinary adventure into the heart of Kazakhstan. Stepping inside, the unfamiliar becomes inviting, with a menu boasting an array of coffee, tea, pastries, and hearty meals, all featuring the millet grain known as "tary." Prized for its nutritional value in Kazakh culture, tary boasts a subtle earthiness that adds a distinctive touch to their menu.Baursaq with Irimsik ($13) - My exploration began with the Baursaq with Irimsik, a delightful play on textures. These pillowy-soft dough pockets, reminiscent of Japanese mochi, cradled a mild cottage cheese filling. While the concept was intriguing, the filling lacked a flavor punch, leaving me wanting a bit more oomph.Tary Cappuccino ($7.25) - For a taste of their signature ingredient, I opted for the Tary Cappuccino. This rich and smooth coffee boasted a subtle earthiness and nuttiness imparted by the tary flour. The integration was pleasant, offering a unique twist on the classic beverage.Overall, Tary Coffee House is a commendable effort in introducing Chicago to the fascinating cuisine of Kazakhstan. While it may not be your everyday haunt, it's certainly worth a visit for the unique experience and a chance to explore new cultural flavors. Just be prepared for prices that lean towards the higher end."
"I swear all the Beatrix locations are the same - mid food with spacy service. Some ingredients weren't listed in the menu (namely a VERY garlicky condiment) and my sandwich wasn't warm at all. Our server had to be asked several times for simple things. If you're at Northwestern, the food here is better than hospital - but not by much. Pass."
"After eating breakfast nearby, I hopped on Yelp to find a coffee shop to grab a latte at before walking around the city a bit. Dollop Coffee seems to be located in an apartment building and has a small patio outside. I ordered my go-to, an oat latte. It's a small space inside, I wouldn't recommend this spot for working or studying as it seems like more of a grab and go type vibe. There's a nice fancy lounge area adjacent to the shop but I couldn't tell if it was part of the apartment building itself. My latte was put together quickly, but I was definitely taken aback by the tiny size, especially for $6. By far the most expensive latte I had in all of Chicago. The drink itself was fine, but I would skip this place next time."

Lovely new spot and I wish them a lot of success. They have many authentic Greek dishes, many of which are vegetarian, which was great for us. Order at the register, and the Greek guy attending to us was very helpful. The gigantes bean dish was delicious and we also got the moussaka and truffle/mushroom flat bread and everything was very delicious. There were so many great choices making it hard to choose.

My friends and I went here because one of us lives by here and I'd been eyeing this place for a while. I am so glad we got here for brunch - we got there around 12:30pm on a weekend and was happy to be immediately seated despite being a group of 5. We went at a great time too because by the time we left every table was taken and a few folks were waiting. I definitely love to see this neighborhood spot thriving and the place is cute - natural light and beach paintings.Food - I got the sorullitos and coquito french toast. Everybody Loved the sorullitos including myself and they are personally some of the best I've had in the city but I've only had them a handful of times. Even my friends who don't like corn dough and corn batter (think corn dogs for example) really enjoyed eating this, including a picky vegetarian. I would absolutely go back here and order the sorullitos again. The coquito french toast was also yummy - sweet but not overwhelmingly so.We got a kids order of guava pancakes to share and that was the perfect amount. I'm not sure if I'd go with sweet mains next time. My friends got the Caribbean chicken skillet, breakfast burger, and the Caribella skillet. They liked what they got and I also thought the Caribbean chicken skillet was yummy.

I came here the weekend they first opened as I was excited that the space quickly got filled again with another coffee shop after the last one closed. The staff here was very friendly - much friendlier than the staff from the last coffee shop. Coffee was fantastic and the little food bites we got from here was great! Love that they have the little walk-up window to order from as well. The inside has been transformed and feels much more modern than before - yet they still kept some of the classic elements. Glad to have Elevate in our neighborhood!

A cafe and roaster that serves various kinds of beautiful and delicious pastries and simple and fresh breakfast sandwiches and salads. One shiny La Marzocco machine, two professional roaster machines, and bags of beans sourced from different countries / areas for purchase. I particularly like their simple yet focused coffee and tea menu. The cafe was so busy and packed around 10am this Sunday! The host was very friendly and helpful though which made you feel better after a long wait in line. Since he was the single person who takes orders and takes care of grabbing pastries from the case, he was very busy. You basically would not wait too long after that pay step. Pastries get sold out fast and they will refill as they make at the back. Latte was smooth and rich - nothing super special but we really had nothing to complain about. The espresso tonic with Ethiopian espresso was very refreshing and tasted strong. Hubby thought his ham sandwich was not big for the price that we paid for but tasted good. My pistachio cheesecake and hummus with toasted bread were really delicious and I highly recommend them.I also used the spring blend beans for espresso at home. The quality was high and I was pleased with the fruity notes, medium body and strong wine-like aroma that I got.

Still absolutely love Cafe Tola! I was back in the neighborhood this weekend running errands and decided to stop by for an afternoon pick me up. The staff member working greeted me with a smile and was quick to take my order. I went with a tried and true - the iced horchata latte. If you prefer your coffee creamy and slightly sweet, this is the perfect drink for you. The cinnamon perfectly compliments the espresso and rounds out the drink. Iced on a hot summer day is truly perfectly. Not only is this drink delicious...it's only $5!! Custom lattes like this at most coffee shops in the city are closer to $7, so I was super thrilled to see this, and it made me even more inclined to give a nice tip! Thanks for staying consistently delicious, Cafe Tola!!!

Visit Restaurant Page"Came in the morning for coffee in this place in Lakeview East on Belmont. It's about all they have. Osmium is a good place to do some working. Has quite a hipster atmosphere. There's cold and hot drinks as well as a few pastries. A place to look at art while having coffee. It's got all these paintings from local artists for sale. This is the second best thing here to spend your money on though. Coffee is the main reason why people come. It's about $4 for the cheapest stuff. Actually not that bad for the area. The Agave Latte is one of the popular specialties. It's made with chocolate and cinnamon. The pastries also looked good, but there were eggs in these. Best place around here for hipster ass coffee. It's got pretty okay prices. There's non dairy milks for vegans."
"This cafe in west loop has the best Veggie Bahn Mi and Vietnamese coffee. My fiance and I have stopped here a bunch of times and the first time we came we ordered the Bahn mi on a whim. It was the perfect mix of textures and flavor. The people that own and work here are so kind as well and the decor is very aesthetic. Would come here everyday if I can"
"Food? Delicious. Coffee? Amazing. Service? Just as good. Atmosphere? Very cool, but cluttered. Still, the French Toast more than makes up for any issues with the place."
"Great new coffee/bakery shop in Edgewater...Wonderful comfy atmosphere with friendly staff and delicious cold brew and baked goods...What's not to like?"
"Lea is a French cafe on Lake Street just west of Michigan Avenue. My lovely wife and I stopped in at Lea recently for a snack. You place your order and pay at a kiosk with a card (they are a cashless establishment). Someone calls out your name and hands you your order once it is ready. We snagged a table in the colorfully cozy cafe, as well as cups of ice water. My love and I split a pain au chocolat, and it was hard to divide into two as it was deliciously flaky without being too sweet."
"I visited this local coffee shop recently and really enjoyed the variety of fun signature lattes and quality coffee. I tried the Lucky Charms latte and really enjoyed it! The breakfast sandwich was a great accompaniment. The service is friendly and the ambiance is great for conversation or getting some work done. I'll definitely be back!"
"We always walk by chia chai and were excited to try the riverwalk location especially because we have tried the food at other locations. I am a big fan of their pani puri. Their bhel needs some work though. It gets soggy by the time they serve us and we all know that a soggy bhel is a no go. I am also a fan of their samosas and chai. Very authentic food and reminds me of home. I'd definitely recommend this place, especially the riverwalk location for the view. They have out some chairs and tables by their location on the river and it's a fun way to spend a summer or winter evening."
"Another welcome surprise to my coveted & neighborhood which still has some hidden gems which is Pilsen. One thing worth mentioning is the French toast wasn't to my liking. Twas dry & I honestly believe they forgot sugar. The chicken breast was delicious. Seasoned to perfection, fried to perfection & twas a hefty portion to say the least. The habanero maple was a different yet welcome take on syrup. Star of the evening was the avocado toast. Mustard vinaigrette atop a gargantuan piece of sourdough with some fresh greens did the trick & probably ranks amongst the best avocado toast in the city."
"Phenomenal sandwiches and ambiance!!I came here on a Saturday mid morning with wonderful recommendations about the food. I was a little sad to hear that they were sold out of their breakfast panini and also gluten free bread, which was surprising for only 10am on a Saturday (maybe there's an early morning rush?). I ordered the Great Gatsby which seems to be the popular option and for good reason! This sandwich was phenomenal!! The focaccia is so fresh and even had herbs mixed into the greens. The sauce on the sandwich was also awesome. The sandwich was about $15. I love their porch area with the string lights and the music was such a cute chill vibe. I will absolutely be back! Great lil lunch spot in Lincoln park."
"My friend and I were very confused by this place as the menu did not reflect what we were seeing on Yelp or on their social media. We ended up with much smaller donuts than we thought we would get. Don't get me wrong, they were still very much delicious! It was just very confusing as it wasn't what we were expecting. Do they change out their menu items? If so, how often? I really wanted a donut ice cream sandwich, but that wasn't even on the menu anywhere. It was still a very good donut place and they have a nice outdoor seating area that's enclosed with heat lamps, so you can come here even during the colder months. Not much decor, but still some cute signage. Be aware their tables are extremely off balance since it is on a hill. They should put something under the legs to make them even because I was nervous amount my food sliding off if I wasn't paying attention. The woman at the window that helped us was more on the rude side. She visibly looked annoyed as it she was upset we were making her do her job. My friend and I split 6 Bombolinis and got 2 dipping sauces: chocolate hazelnut and salted caramel. The donuts themselves were pretty good! I don't think I would make a special trip out here just for them though. Both sauces were very good, but the salted caramel was to die for! Definitely my favorite of the two we tried. I would give this place 4 stars, but the false advertising and confusion is making me give it 3 stars instead. I was really looking forward to certain things and there's no explanation at all."
"What an interesting spot out in West Town.A friend and I wandered in one afternoon to grab a coffee. We dd not expect to see a bakery and full bar that also served actual meals. One guy at the bar was eating a giant burger that looked fantastic. The bakery case in the back was filled with beautiful sweets. There was also a croissant case at the front. We tried pistachio cookies and a plain croissant. They were both delicious. We took everything to go after chatting it up with the manager Andre. On my next visit, I brought a different friend. This time we sat at the bar to enjoy our sweets and coffee. Everything was just as tasty this time around.Andre was working again that day and was just as charming with his beautiful Italian accent. At Dolci Amori, we would expect nothing less. We each picked out something different and Andre split them between us on our little plates as if he knew we would be sharing. It was a sweet touch.I plan on being a regular at this location, even though I live near the Gold Coast spot. I love the cool modern vibe that the West Town neighborhood is known for, coupled with the warm hospitality that Andre offers."
"I love espresso and milk's bougie take on coffee. This is a small coffee shop in the civic opera building. They have hardly any seating, it's more like a to go coffee shop. The service is fast. The baristas are sweet and nice to talk to for recommendations. The ambience is very modern and chic with only blacks and whites. I tried their limited menu option beverage called root beer espresso. It was very interesting! They mixed in root beer with espresso on ice. I really liked the combination. I love when coffee shops bend the rules around coffee and come up with something exciting."
"Another good place for coffee. Dollop is a small cafe along Dearborn. It mainly has coffee drinks but there's also bagels and pastries. Fairly okay prices considering the location and how they would be able to take advantage of office workers looking for something convenient in the morning. The inside has some comfortable couches and a few outlets. It has a good choice of drinks. Many things to get any time of the year, chilled and hot. There's often a seasonal menu along with their regular stuff. Coffee here seems like it's epic. This gives a pretty big jolt so maybe think again if you're ordering a large. Last time here it was pretty warm so I got a cold brew. They had some seasonal specials. I had a Babe On Rocks. It's $5 for the regular size. This is a cold brew with oat milk and spice. Among the food here are bagels and donuts. There's not a whole lot to choose from. I usually get a bagel. It's $3.25 for most. They have a pretty limited selection of toppings. Butter, cream cheese, and jelly. The bagel selection is pretty small too. Clearly they're more focused on brewing coffee. It has some things to eat but nothing that makes a meal. The good thing is the coffee is the best around so they know what works."
"Vegan Panini with hummus, eggplant, sun dried tomatoes & arugula is soooooo good! They always have a vegan soup of the day and really good dirty chai lattes. This place has been open for over 15 years. There's a reason why. They're consistent with food quality and customer service. It also helps they open early and close late."
"Omg! Heaven in my mouth! Their quiche Loraine is the best I ever had! So fluffy light and delicious! Their vanilla chai latte - to die for!! Almond croissant - warm, flaky, scrumptious!! I'll be back for sure! :)"
"Can't wait to go back. The food was incredible, and the atmosphere so fun, the music and outdoor patio space was very enjoyable and the service was on point!"
"Pizza was exceptional! This is my new favorite place in Chicago! Like their spot in Italy they cut the slice to the size you want! Crust is unbelievable and the spicy eggplant was special! The ambiance is good for a pizza place. You can eat outside too! Prices are reasonable and service was amazing!"
"This delightful lunch spot is in my building. So glad it's great, fresh and healthy as well as being convenient. Great hot and cold brew coffee. They have all kinds of milk options for your coffee which is nice. Note that the portions are on the smaller side, which works for me at lunchtime and also keeps prices reasonable. They have daily specials which are larger if you are really hungry. Or, if you have a bigger appetite get fries or a soup plus a salad / sandwich. The staff is kind and accommodating."
"What a fun little spot! Restaurant layout/dining area is a little awkward - we only noticed this when a couple with a giant (expensive) stroller came in. Menu was ample! Lots of choices all with an interesting flair. Drink as well as food specials. My husband and I both ordered an Irish Espresso (see pic below). The beverage was cold (probably because there was like 8oz of whipped cream on top). It was strong and good...just cold. Maybe offer in a smaller mug?My husband had thr frittata (which was beautifully plated - he refused to let me take a picture of it because he was hungry). I had the chilaquiles - also delicious. Service was good. Everyone seemed very kind. Would definitely come here again!"
"Great spot. Super friendly service. Really nice vibe and great clientele. Highly recommend."
"The woman in the front named Sophia is one of the most nicest people in the world. The atmosphere in this place is so warm and comforting. She will show you pictures of the meals. If you don't know what they look like she let you ask as many questions as you want without getting frustrated, she was so hospitable and just was one of the sweetest most nicest humans I've ever encountered. The food was served with a smile and was delicious and seasoned. I definitely recommend this place."
"Where should i begin...It's been 15 years ago when i stepped first time in Cafe Beograd and i am still coming back. Everything and i mean everything on the menu i did try and it's delicious. From cevapi, mix meat platter, beo burger, gourmet burger , sausage , stuffed burger, chicken to karadjordjeva, panini, pizza, crapes, cakes...Staff is always friendly, professional and knowledgeable. They will make your stay pleasant as possible. With few renovations that were done in the past, place is super cozy and has that European vibe all the way - great patio in the summer time. Can't believe i forgot to write this review earlier( thought i did ) but i am highly recommending this place to anyone that wants to try Serbian food.ZIVELI!!!"
"Much better Stan's location than the other ones close by. This is located inside a small food hall so there are plenty of seating available. We were here for St Patrick's day weekend and I loved all the cute green themed donuts. They also serve breakfast items besides the obvious donuts. Friendly employees even during one of the most busiest holidays for Chicago. We ordered the breakfast burrito and a side of hash browns. Delicious! Portion is big enough for one person...I wouldn't suggest sharing unless you just want a light snack. This was our go-to every morning while visiting. It's close by to The Riverwalk, Chicago River and other main attraction points here in the city."
