This place is a f***king HIT! Def just cracked my top 5 in Latin cuisine. The chef and owner Omar is a stand up guy and he has something special here. One of the best Ropa Vieja plates I've had in my life, nothing comes close. Love the indoor/outdoor seating as well and the music is on point with the esthetic of the place . I honestly can't wait to come back and try all the other dishes, I doubt there isn't a dish that doesn't shine from Omarcitos. And don't forget the ice cafe con leche, CRACK!P.S sorry for the shitty pictures i was too thirsty to dig in, i even took a bite of the sandwich before I took the picture and obviously didn't clean my camera lense

I visited Omarcito's for the first time yesterday with a group of friends, and we had an amazing time! One of my friends had been before, so she planned a group outing for us there because she loves the food.We arrived around 5pm and received a warm welcome from Omar. (owner) He was personable and funny... he passed the vibe check for sure! He even insisted on helping us put several tables together so we could spread out comfortably rather than squeezing around one table. I had the ropa vieja plate, which was delicious. They were out of yellow rice, so I had no choice but to go with the black beans and rice. The beans were great, and the Cuban style beef was succulent and delectable. I don't eat plantains so I gave them to one of my friends. She wanted the maduros and said she loved them. She is vegetarian, so she also had a side of the black beans. We hated that there weren't more options available for her on the menu, but she didn't mind because she's used to that. Between the seven of us, we all sampled every major offering on the menu. One friend had the fish while another had the bistec encebollardo or lechon. Everyone enjoyed their food. Even my friend Al liked his food, and he's admittedly pretty finicky. We were celebrating Al's birthday, and Omar (owner) even came over and gave him a free strawberry parfait! He also put on a song called Happy Birthday by an artist known as Busy Signal to add to the festivities. We all thought that was so nice of him!! Omar also allowed us to stay past closing since there was a private party renting a portion of the space. I don't live anywhere near Omarcito's, but I'll definitely be a repeat customer. I've already told my brother that we have to go check it out once the weather warms up. The prices are reasonable, and you can pay via cash, credit card, Zelle, Venmo, or Cashapp. I also really enjoyed the music playing on the overhead speakers. It's such a minor detail that can make all the difference. Do yourself a favor and pay Omar a visit. You won't regret it!!

Great food, long wait.My sister and I were looking for a place to catch up on a Sunday, and Omarcito's cafe came up as a suggestion because her friend has an art gallery in the space. A few things that you should know when going: the owner, Omar, is running the operation mostly by himself in the middle courtyard, so when you order, you have to go to the food truck first and then find your seat. Being that he's running it by himself. It can be a bit of a wait. Also, when we came, he had a huge order and was very apologetic, and to be honest, his personality won me over. Now that that's all the way, let's discuss the food. We got the chicken and steak empanadas, which were so delicious and cooked perfectly. I also wanted to try the steak sandwich, and oh my God, I did not know what to expect, but it was so good, and feeling I would come back to this place simply for the sandwich. I washed everything down with a café Leche coffee, and it was so good, depending on who you are, it was worth the wait. I want to support this fantastic brother and business, so if you are in the area or want to try some delicious food, go down to Omar and support his business.4 1/2 out of 5 stars

The iced coconut cafe con leche was very good! Tasted kinda like eating a girl scout's samosa.I came here to try The Fulanito, which was recommended by Eater as one of the best egg sandwiches in Chicago! They gave me a spicy green sauce and a mayo to eat with it too! Highly recommend the green sauce.Chef was super nice and energetic. There's both outdoor and indoor seating. Recommend checking it out!

A delightful experience through and through! When you go to Omarcito's, it is like entering a little oasis. The colorful tables, gorgeous plants, and upbeat music provided a perfect ambiance to enjoy the food. Seating is outdoors only, which worked out for us since we went on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. We also were lucky enough to snag one of the shaded tables under the umbrellas. The owner, Omar, was outgoing and personable; you could tell he was proud of all the food that he makes. Talking to him put a smile on my face! All of the food we had was delicious, but I particularly enjoyed the steak jibarito and the tacos dorados de pollo en consome. The consome was so flavorful that I drank most of it... I would love to come back and try more of the menu!

I cannot say enough good things about this place!! The food is ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC. It's so fresh, flavorful and authentic. Omarcito immediately makes you feel welcomed and offers great suggestions, truly the best! Got 2 empanadas to try, the guava and cream cheese was incredible. I'm not usually a sweets person but I loved this one, it's so creamy with a burst of guava. I was so full I didn't get a chance to try the chicken empanada there so I ate it the next day and it was still incredibly delicious and juicy! Got the ropa vieja and lechon sandwich and both were mouthwatering, tender, juicy and bursting with flavor in every single bite! The French roll is the perfect crisp, although I'm sure the jibarito is equally as delicious. Loved the garlic sauce and hot sauce so much I put both in my sandwich. Will be coming back to try the other menu items!

We stopped by for a quick lunch to go and were not disappointed. The ambiance is fun and lovely, even on a hot Chicago afternoon. Omar and his staff were beyond friendly and seem to truly love making delicious food. We got the steak and chicken sandwiches with cheese. Make sure to get the garlic and spicy sauces! Can't wait to come back for the entrees.

This place is a whole f***in VIBE! It's situated in a little outdoor patio space in the Logan/ Hermosa area. You pull up you hear great music! If you come a day with great weather you have the joy of a great outdoor eating experience. They do have a covered indoor portion as well. Omar greets everyone and I do mean everyone like they're family. Seriously the customer service is top notch! I know more than a few restaurants that could learn a thing or two from this operation. You stroll up to the window and order, and everything comes out super fresh. My wife and I ordered the steak and fish sandwiches. We also ordered a couple empanadas ( guava and cheese and I can't remember the other, I think it was beef). They also had a special of Ecuadorian ceviche that day so I had to grab some to take home. Sitting on this patio with amazing food, dope music, amazing weather and impeccable vibes, I really felt like I was transported to the beaches of Canoa, Ecuador (IYKYK)! Despite the name, nothing that Omar does here is little. If his dad was big Omar, I know that he's definitely proud of what his son has done with this place.

Shut up and stop what you're doing and go to Omarcito's. Whatever you're thinking about doing instead, you're making a mistake. I went here for lunch today with a friend and we had an incredible experience. Note that it's outside dining and takeout only. We sat outside because it was 50 degrees in Chicago which is the common person's 78. It was a really cute space, everyone was in a great mood, it was really a lovely vibe. I can't say enough good things about the food: empanadas were light and flaky and flavorful, the fish jibarito almost brought me to tears, the sauces were soooo good, the coconut flan brought us pure perfect joy. I love a basic jibarito but these are elevated and dreamy with fresh fresh fresh ingredients and tons of flavor and I need you to know they are an absolute goddamn delight. And Omarcito himself was working, and what a guy. An absolute sweetie pie who will make you immediately feel welcomed and known. Truly an incredible addition to the neighborhood and the future (I hope) of the Logan food scene. Can't wait to go here all the time forever.
