"Our go-to take out Indian spot. We love the creamy butter chicken, the hearty lamb Rogan Josh and the dosa crepes. Naan is enormous and everything is always expertly packed. High quality for a reasonable price!"
"We started off with the calamari appetizer. I love spice but my husband does not. The calamari itself was not spicy but the veggies that were served with it packed some heat, so we were both pleased with this appetizer and would eat it again for sure! I ordered the dry paneer with chili sauce (spicy), I added mixed veggies for $1 more and loved it! The dry paneer was in small dice sized cube and were nice and crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. I would eat this again for sure! My husband had the combo fried rice (mild) the texture was great, and very flavorful m, he highly recommends it! He would have it again for sure. The water they gave us had no ice so it was not as cold as I prefer but it was ok."

"Happy Birthday to ME!!! Well, yesterday lol! First off, this place is soooo cute! The ambiance as soon as you enter is very warm and welcoming . The staff are extremely efficient without being overbearing and the food... ya'll I LOVE Indian food. I don't eat it as often as I'd like but I heard good things about Tandoor and its authenticity so, that's where I headed. For starters I ordered the Keema samosa and dear lord... I could've just had 4 of these and called it a night lol. I used the sauces that came with the bread and I was dancing in my seat. It arrived so hot and fresh and FAST. For my drink I had water and a glass of the California Cycles Gladiator Merlot and let me tell you, one glass was SUFFICIENT. For my entrée I had the Butter chicken and garlic naan, of course. My bestie ordered the Karahi chicken. Both dishes arrived piping hot and mind you they stayed that way until we finished our entire meal! The Butter chicken was tender , full of flavor and the spice level was exactly what I asked for. The Karahi chicken was more of a curry based versus the tomato and its spice level was more intense but just as delicious . I know it's unnecessary, but I really enjoyed that a pitcher of iced water was placed at the table . I enjoyed it more because it also had a filter so the ice didn't come through unless you wanted it to. I also like that the servers ask what spice level you like your meal to be at. I have zero complaints and I can't wait to come back and try something I've never had before . My total came out to a little over 64.00 and this did not include the tip. Thank you for such a wonderful dining experience! I'll see you again soon!"
"This was my first time here and I enjoyed what I had, however it was difficult for me not knowing what each item was. Luckily I had friends with me that were knowledgeable. The food was tasty, but the portions felt small. I guess you had an option between naan and roti but I wasn't offered that. The lassi was smooth. The other offerings we tried were good, but I don't know if I'd come back because I don't know what they are. It would be nice if they had descriptions."
"My bud and I ate lunch at Ghareeb Nawaz on Devon today. This is a no-frills establishment with an extensive menu posted on the wall, so it just may take a minute or two to identify what you'd like to order. The sign touted their "winter special" - chicken biryani for $5.99. Of course, I could not pass up such an eye-popping deal. The photos of the dishes just do not depict how sizeable the portions are in reality. I thought my platter of biryani was the bargain of the century (at least by 2023 standards) as the basmati rice was literally overflowing from the plate and there were three substantial chicken pieces embedded in the dish. Even as I added two samosas (the potato was better than the beef samosa), I spent less than nine dollars and had enough rice for another meal. My bud ordered an enormous amount of food, including chicken korma with a somewhat spicy curry sauce and a pile of rice, and a frisbee-sized disk of naan. His he-man appetite meant that he somehow wound up with no leftovers. We were both satisfied with the flavors and the value of our food. I ate my meal with a plastic spoon - I did not see any forks or knives anywhere. Remember - no-frills!"
"This is a great no frills casual place to have a simple meal. Everything is made fresh and portions are generous. They offer so many specials. If you go before noon, some plates are $1 - $3!!! Also has several weekday plate specials $4.99 (as of 10/16/21 the date of this review). The chicken biryani we ordered was packed enough for 2 people easily and had plenty of chicken pieces. They actually have several kinds of Biryani not just chicken. The puri's with the halva were more like batoori's (thicker and tastier than puri's - see my picture) and a good size. The egg omelette paratha platter was very good as well. We really loved the shami's. They had a very good flavor and they used a good amount of beef in them. We also took home a dozen tandoori naan as they only charge $1 each and are the same size as all the restaurants that over charge! Great casual place to eat or take out. Great variety of items for everyone including vegetable and meat dishes. Owner is super friendly and cares that you enjoy the food."
"So tried this on a whim and I have to say this just is t awesome bbq, it is amazing Indian food and add it table top grills. What can I say other then run here order it all and enjoy some of the best food you are going to have. P.s. the naan is amazing, I know you say naan really. But dang can't be beat So close this app and go to Absolute now !!!"
"Great hidden spot in Deerfield, in the somewhat bustling intersection of Milwaukee and Deerfield. If ya don't know, it's where Woodmans is. Located on the northeast side, Tandoor Curry Hotspot is inside the cluster of shops, near Brunch Factory and a recently opened Anytime Fitness.I love me some Indian food, and this place did not disappoint. We ordered Chicken 65, which was fantastic, some veggie somosas, lamb vindaloo, and washed it all down with a sweet mango lassi. Everything was fantastic! Venue was good, service was great, and the overall dining experience was pleasant. I will eat here again."
"***Note the rating for this business does not belong to Shinwari grill. It was for the previous restaurant. Whether this new business fills their shoes is yet to be seen. They have only been in business about a month.*** Shinwari grill is new to Devon ave, however, they are not new to the restaurant scene. It strikes me odd they took over Masti Grill's listing with ratings and "claimed" it as their own. That kinda bs is not cool and I inquired with them about it. To which I received a canned reply of, "uh, yeah, a lot of things switched hands fast at the time of the switch and we're still figuring that out." Again, that's bs. Their takeout menus have a Yelp logo on them, their in-store marketing mentions their Yelp page and this web page has been verified as theirs with an update on the new owner. So just note that most of their recent 5 star reviews belong to the last restaurant is all. Shinwari moved in, switched out much of the kitchen with all new cookware and has been operating about a month now.Regarding the previous restaurant: Unfortunately it seems that Masti Grill has shuttered their doors and moved out. Good luck to you Tanveer, I'd always hoped Masti would have taken off. If located in a different area of town and with more accessible business hours, it could have done better. Who knows. You brought a new stance to (late night) Pak/Indian food, surprising casual diners with freshly prepared recipes & appetizers. A detail that should be available across Devon "hotels" but is not. Hotels should not be confused with regular, sit-down restaurants ie Tiffin. In India a "hotel" is a fast food joint, to us here in the states it's a diner. Back to Shinwari grill. Much of their menu is Pakistani food with a few Indian crossovers. (In my mind, much of our food is mutual in name and ingredients. However, there are differences in the amount of oil used to start a curry and a far lighter hand of spices used for heat. Almost always, store bought Pakistani food is mild) Shinwari has been open now about a month and are in the process of figuring out their groove and how best to serve their new customers. So far I've been in twice spending an average of thirty plus dollars on takeout. I'll tell you, I think a free membership for anus calisthenics comes with every order. I'm two in and both times my anus has had a vigorous workout. There's the all night puttering which helps focus your anus to short, loud, bursts. Then the day long, overextended usage of pooping. Honestly, I needed a couple days of rest after those workouts. My orders have consisted of veg samosa, a couple breads and a curry. Over the short time, their samosas got better. The first time the shell was harder and darker colored than normal. I've seen this before with newbs using the wrong ingredients. On the second go, the shell was perfect as was the filling. I'd definitely order veg samosa again but only if they offer tamarind chutney. Presently they offer a sort of raita which to me does nothing for it or your taste buds. (You may like to use ketchup or BBQ sauce.) Don't get me started on their cost/type of breads. I'm not a fan. (Note to self. Get store bought paratha or make Costco chapathi)About the curries. All consistently gave my ass something to talk about. Day long flatulence... wowzers. An okra curry (bhindi gosht) that was so bland, murgh cholay (oily) and butter chicken. The butter chicken had good flavor, consistency and the meat was slow cooked. Too bad it upset my stomach.. but good for me, I suppose. Value vs cost vs health.. I can't be spending all my time on a toilet. Nor can I have a date over if I'm puttering under the sheets. Trust.. it's not fun to be told.. "honey! that's not sexy!!""
"The staff was very friendly & helpful. The food was wonderful, especially the chicken sweet corn soup, garlic Naan & especially the Epicurean Murgh Tikka Nirvana (similar to Chicken Tikka Masala, but more flavor). We will definitely come back to try other dishes!"
"3rd visit- another great experience. Superfriendly great service. Food, so good it pleased the nine year old and the adults. So glad this place is in the neighborhood.1 x Samosa Channa 1 x Chicken byrani 1 x Malai Kofta"
"Love the daal makni (lentils), paneer tika masala (cheese cubes in red sauce), rice, and garlic naan. Also go for the mango lassi. Our guy Benny here is great, calm, and knowledgeable. Good quiet ambiance too. Feel free to eat with your hands too!"

It's easy to walk by and not notice this place if you're walking fast down Clark. But I'm glad I made my way there for a Monday night dinner. Ambience is chill, portions are huge, and the staff are friendly. In the chicken kadai it wasn't just chicken breast pieces which is much appreciated. The Biriyani was indeed spicy, but in a good way. It was my first time eating Dosa and very much enjoyed dipping it in the chutney. I have leftovers for at least a day and a half because of how big portions are.

There used to be a legendary Indo-Chinese restaurant in this complex called the Hot Wok Village.. that place is now defunct but the owner Joseph Lee retells that legend with his, Hakka Wok restaurant.I dined-in here for Father's Day weekend and was met with nostalgia as all the items we ordered retained the same great taste from years past. We stuck to the vegetarian menu and loved every bit of it:- Sweet Corn Soup (pro tip, add some vinegar from the green spice condiment to this)- Veg. Szechwan Spring Roll- Veg. Baby Corn Bhazzia- Veg. Ginger Fried Rice- Veg. Szechwan Noodles- White Rice BowlThis food is meant to be eaten in the restaurant and shared family style and I assure you, you will leave content and satisfied when you do!

Lovely staff and excellent buffet. Assortment of dishes was wonderful. I really enjoyed the tomato cilantro soup with its spicy flavor. Loads of options on the buffet. Goat with saag. Assorted chicken options and some vegetarian dishes. Salads and dessert rounded out the selections. I do love Indian buffets. This one is only available at lunchtime.

Cute corner place with lots of street food options! The cheese masala dosa was huge but yummy with potatos in the center. Also got the pani puri that they ask if for here or table. I misunderstood and said for here as to dine in but for here is they'll make for you on the spot so that did feel rushed but great flavor. The spicy sauce had a nice kick to it. The dahi chaat was really flavor too! I didn't love the sugarcane juice. It had a stronger ginger taste to it and didn't taste authentic. Wouldn't get again.

Prior to my recent visit to Ghareeb Nawaz, I had been here a couple of times before but that was more than 10 years ago. Since then, the restaurant has gotten a face-lift and an upgrade.Ghareeb Nawaz is known for their homey, late night (at least in the past when I went) eats at very inexpensive prices. I was on my way back from downtown and decided to pick up dinner from here for the following night. I placed my order over the phone and was informed that it would be ready in 20 minutes and should be paid as cash only. I ordered:- Butter Chicken (med spicy)- Lamb Nihari (spicy)- Beef Bihari Kebab (extra spicy)- 2 tandoori chapati- 2 parathaI got there in 20 minutes and the food was ready. We were surprised that these items were already prepared to go in the alloted time given especially how busy they were when I got there around 10 pm. I paid cash and picked up my order. One of the attendants repeated my order by looking in my carry-out to confirm what I had gotten. I did not open the bag to see if everything was okay or not. Fast forward the following night at home for dinner when we sat down to eat this meal. The Butter Chicken smelled off as if it had been spoiled and was mild. The Lamb Nihari was not spicy but had decent flavor. I had to add Indian extra hot chili powder to make it spicy. The Beef Bihari Kebab was not a kebab dish but a shredded beef curry type dish and was not spicy either forget extra spicy. The only real tasty things were the parathas and tandoori chapati. This was a huge letdown for us especially given how reputed G N is and its popularity. I did not call the restaurant to complain about this as this was roughly 24 hrs later and I had not check my bag's contents at pick up.However, one thing did solidify for me that in my experience from all the visits to G N, I do not agree with any of the good or better reviews of the food from this place. The food has always been mediocre in taste. I guess that part has not changed for me in going here even after 10+ years. Sorry but I can't rate this place high on their food quality. G N is good for great prices on their extensive menu options and late night hours. It's a popular local establishment that makes the list of cheap eats on Devon Ave. and in Chicago, overall. But for me it doesn't work in terms of quality and taste of food.

When you're tired and don't feel like cooking, this is the place to go! It's a super casual Pakistani diner with a wide selection of dishes. They offer everything from Butter Chicken and Achar Gosht to Daal, Bindi, Haleem, Nihari, Chili Chicken, and much more--all under $15 each. You can pair your meal with naan, garlic naan, paratha, or rice.On weekends, they also serve Halwa and Puri, though I haven't tried it yet. The seating area is open until 11:30 pm.Here's everything I've tried along with my rating:5/5 Nihari with garlic naan 5/5 Chicken Biryani 5/5 Daal and Rice 5/5 Chili Chicken with Paratha 5/5 Aloo Palak 5/5 Chana Masala 4/5 Green Chili Chicken with Paratha 1/5 Butter Chicken(I don't love their butter chicken- it does not taste like butter chicken to me) The staff is always friendly! Ibrahim, the cashier I see often, is super sweet and accommodating.

Ordered a lunch special today. Came back it's white rice butter chicken, 1 naan and some chicken appetizer. All the food was absolutely amazingly great!! I could have eaten 3 orders of it all!! Just enough heat, not too much!! And after I placed the order in store I received it rather quickly! I only docked them 1 star because the portion was kinda small (that butter chicken was so good! Needed more). Super good highly recommended!!!

My family and I found Tandoor Curry Hotspot to be a good restaurant to check out whenever you are in the mood for tasty Indian food. The restaurant was inviting with its aesthetics and decor. It was well lit and clean. The restaurant's menu has a good variety, and the dishes are reasonably priced in today's times. Located in a shopping center in Riverwoods, this restaurant is a good addition to the restaurants in the area (between Wheeling, Buffalo Grove, Lincolnshire). We went here for dinner and were not disappointed. We were promptly seated and served based on when we ordered. The restaurant was busy with takeout orders. We were in the mood for North Indian cuisine, so we ordered Naan, Onion Kulcha, Tandoori Roti, Palak Paneer, Kadai Paneer, and Meerut-style Goat curry dishes, for our entrées. I ordered chicken wings for my appetizer and requested them to be prepared in Indian style (which is not how they are normally cooked). By Indian style, I meant with curry spices or sauce. Our server, who also seemed to be the manager of the restaurant, said no problem to my request. The food came out promptly. It smelled and looked good. My wings were prepared in tandoori style, and they were delicious. The wings were accompanied by a mint chutney, some grilled onions, and slices of lemon. The vegetarian dishes like Palak Paneer and Kadai Paneer were aromatic and flavorful. The spice level was to our liking as we had requested. My goat curry dish was requested to be extra spicy, and it was good as well. It was my favorite dish. The Naan, Kulcha, and Roti we ordered were on point, too. We also ordered Malai Kulfi, an Indian ice cream dessert, which was housemade. It was decent. Overall, we had a good experience and would go back for more. Check out Tandoor Curry Hotspot for delicious Indian food.

"A fun colorful vibe hidden in a small strip mall just off Route 59, Shimla is our go to place for Indian vegetarian food. While they don't have my favorite, dosas, they have a wide variety of vegetarian options. The main draw this Saturday evening was the buffet for $20 you get quite a variety of appetizers, rice, naan, and quite a few vegetarian dishes with paneer or chick peas as your protein plus dessert. My husband got the buffet and I went with the chole bhature which was not too greasy and very tasty. Fast attentive, no frill service with a bit loud music and televisions playing Bollywood movies, not my thing but maybe for others."
"I was a first-time visitor to the Bollywood Bistro, and I was pleasantly surprised with the authenticity and the sophistication of the dishes served. In an age where restaurants are cutting back on quality, this place stands out with its flavorful dishes as a place to eat and try the foods of India. Service was terrific, and the ambiance was modern--a great place for lunch or dinner. I have already put it on my shortlist of restaurants to eat at when near Naperville!"
"We order to go goat biryani from here and definitely worth the hype, one of the best biryani experiences ever for sure. Maybe next time we will try other items from here as mentioned in other reviews.."
"I highly recommend this business! The food was hot and delicious, the portions were generous, and the presentation of the food was nice. The variety on the menu was large - although the drinks were a little constrained. I asked for tea, but I was warmly greeted with that which wasn't my imagination nor typical of the American convention (black tea). Something easily oversee-able, especially when the milky beverage was tasty nonetheless. The cleanliness of the restaurant, the service, the prices - all stellar. Our waitress was so darn polite and kind. It was unlike any previous service I had experienced in Illinois. There was no wait time either (we walked in at 12:47 p.m. on a Saturday). I would be so glad to return for further business and thankful to have been shown it."
"Great food! We had butter chicken and goat biryani which was tasty! Met the chef who is great and super nice! Definitely will go back!"
"Shikara is a nice Indian Restaurant in Downers Grove, the inside is very fancy it's connected to a banquet hall on one hallway and the other side is Shikara.I had the lunch buffet for $20 a person and it was pretty good, there was a huge variety of vegetarian and meat entrees, salads, breads, appetizers and deserts. The service was fine, but buffet doesn't really require much interaction. Wish they had malai Kofta as a buffet option, the food is not very spicy either (I love spicy). Inside lighting of the restaurant is very nice too, cool for the ambiance. The best entree option was the paneer curry. I'd come by again if I was in the area."
"New place in town and has been open for about a month. Heard through a new business owner in town, got which I also did a review of their establishment. It's about time we have a true Indian restaurant in Kenosha. This restaurant is located where Charcoal Grill once was. Place was remodeled, giving it that Indian decor. Upon walking in, you would expect a bigger place, but don't fret, there is a bigger banquet hall next door for larger parties. I was immediately greeted and seated. Not so loud Indian music is playing in the background. There are plenty of booth tables, bar height tables, and a square like bar area with counter height seating. It is a full bar. I myself have never tried to drink any alcoholic beverages whenever I've eaten Indian food. Ruins the taste to me.Honestly, I have to say, I didn't experience any of the negatives that were posted on Yelp. I will talk about one minor issue below, i think is a slight change for the better. However, please give them a chance as I can see they are listening to their customers and making some changes.I know, you're probably saying come on dude, the foooooood! LolFirst, they have a large selection of appetizers and meals. My food overall was a 5 out of 5. I had the Chicken Malai Tikka Rolls, which was outstanding, especially with the mint sauce and the cream sauce. I don't understand why my taste buds went crazy when I added the red onion to my fork. Flavor was all over my tongue, and no it wasn't spicy. For my main course, I had the Lamb Saag with medium spice. Medium was just enough heat for me. Good lord, that meat was so tender. It's a delicious dish that comes with rice and I ordered the Garlic Naan. I do believe you will be pleased with the food, but if I say I'll be back, that means the food is pretty decent. The prices are pretty decent to as nothing is over $19.00. For dessert, I had the Tres Leches Cake. Yummy it was. Soft and spongy in the middle and not too sweet. I was surprised when they told me it house made and not store bought. The wait staff was awesome. I can't count the number of times I was checked on. I really appreciated that a lot, because it allowed me time to ask questions. They even explained some of the menu items as well. Couple of things to note. They have a lunch buffet Monday through Thursday from 11 to 3. Menu items expected to change daily. Lastly, they will allow payment of your bill at the table. I asked and they obliged. It might be obvious the staff might be new at this, but to me they are willing and able to make a few changes as needed. I wish India Masala House nothing but success. I'll be back for sure. Welcome to the neighborhood."
"Bonafide "chaat" house. Casual and maintained like a cafe. Not a regular full service restaurant. So if you are planning to meet many friends, I wouldn't put their staff through that hassle. For those wanting to expand their knowledge of what Indian foods can offer. Guy's it's not always about butter chicken! Spice levels are comfortable and kids alike will enjoy. The food is Indian vegetarian. Snacks, fried items, limited desserts and some Indian entree staples. Dosas, idlis, paratha, puffed rice, roti, puri (types of Indian breads) and more. Those are often served alongside chutneys, dips, veg curries and even more. Side note: Most Indians will not order dosas and puris in carry out or delivery. These are breads that are made to eat when fresh. It's at its best when it hits the plate soon after frying. I guess you could try to microwave it but some finesse is needed to get the breads back to a pliable texture. Uru Swati is a household name on Devon that's been in existence for many years. They've experienced some highs and many lows. Somehow though, they keep comin' back around in popularity. A change in staff or getting back to basics can do that. Presently they are on a high in the food preparation side of the business. Best to get it while it's still good."
"I have only been here for dinners and I was excited when I found out Saffron has lunch buffets on the weekends (Fri, Sat, and Sun)! $16 from 1130a-230p. The variety was great and I enjoyed all the dishes. If you like chicken, they bring you a tandoori chicken for each person and a basket of nan to the table. Buffet options included: papri chaat (loaded chips appetizer), veggie samosa, kesari pulao (basmati rice), chicken curry, goat curry, baigan bhartha, paneer makhani, chana masala, mix vegetables, and 2 desserts - dudhi halwa and kheer..|\---/|| @_@ |..\_^_/..2024"
"I visited the India Foodie Lounge for Mother's Day and had a delightful experience. We chose the buffet, which is priced at approximately $22 per person. The selection was impressive, offering a diverse array of both vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes. My favorite dishes were the chicken tikka masala (have to eat it with garlic naan) and surprisingly the fruit salad with milk was delicious. We were seated immediately without a wait, despite not having a reservation. The service was exceptional, and the owner personally checked in on us, adding a thoughtful touch to our visit. The restaurant boasts ample seating and a warm, inviting atmosphere, perfect for enjoying a meal with family.I will definitely be returning!"
"My first time eating Indian food! We went to the little india restaurant and had a great lunch!#TBT Our first time experiencing Indian food was last year in October. We were very fortunate to have our meal at the Little India Restaurant on Bryn Mawr.We had the chef's special lunch which was $9 per person ( on weekdays) and there was a ton of delicious food. There was way more than any of us could finish, but, I happily took my leftovers home for the next day.Such a great lunch and delicious meal for our introduction to Indian food!"
"Naatu is a nice quality, family-friendly Indian restaurant that serves tasty South Indian as well as North Indian dishes. On my recent visit, I had a good experience dining in as my party, and I received good service and tasty, flavorful food. The restaurant was semi-busy when we got there and afterward, it got even more busy. We did not have a reservation, so upon arrival, we were asked if we had one, and if not, there was a wait. We mentioned that we did not know that reservations were required. Luckily, due to the size of my group, we lucked out and scored a table pretty quickly. The service was prompt. The menu variety was good with lots of options from the different regional Indian cuisine varieties. I was in the mood for South Indian food. So, I ordered a dish called Guntur Chili Masala Dosa. It's a savory, fermented rice batter dosa (Indian style crepe) with seasoned potatoes filling. What stood out for me about this dish was that it was spicy dosa with a special chili paste inside it. That's why I ordered it. The others in my party also ordered South Indian dishes, and we also ordered a chili (saucy, not dry) sautéed paneer appetizer and saag (spinach) paneer with rice and garlic naan. Everybody in my group, including me, enjoyed the dishes we ordered. We liked the food for its quality and taste. The flavors and texture were delicious. The chutneys and sambar to go along with the dosas were quite tasty as well. The paneer dishes and garlic naan were to our liking as well. We all agreed that this restaurant is worth visiting again to try the other options they have on their menu. The restaurant was clean and welcoming. The ambiance was pleasant. It had nice decor and lighting. Despite being busy (which is good), the service was on point. Even the restaurant manager checked on us to see how we liked the restaurant and what we thought of the food. I have now found four suburban Indian restaurants (w/ Naatu being the fourth, new one) that serve good, tasty South Indian food. I definitely recommend checking out Naatu."
"New Indian spot in Lakeview. For their grand opening they're offering 10 % off online orders. We decided to order take out since it was quite a rainy day. I didn't get inside by it looks like a spacious modern interior dining area. What captured my attention was the South Indian cuisine on the menu. Dosas and Idly are some of my favorites. So we went with Marsala and Karam ghee dosas and an order of veg biryani. I'm just saying these dosas were legit. At least 2 ft long, savory and tasty. The accompanying sambar was huge. A little more potato masala filling would've been a little better. The biryani was huge and good enough for two people. They not messing around with the spiciness. The pickle was hot. Request mild if it's an issue. Everything was tasty and well proportioned and a great value for the price. Definitely trying again. Pretty good!"
"Well despite the pandemic I guess it was by luck that I discovered this restaurant in Devon that still does Indian buffet. They only do it Saturdays and Sundays I was going to do individual around here since the pandemic has hurt most of the restaurants especially ethnic restaurants. Anyways I like the fact that they also included mango lassi in the buffet but they're biryani and their other dishes aloo are actually very good. For people who Miss eating Indian traditional do come here on Saturdays and Sundays also I would probably come again to try the individual dishes."
"Lahore.. you don't go here for the ambience or a bourgeois night out. This place is legit just to relax and chill with your loved ones for a good time. We drive an hour just to go to Lahore. It is a bit dark and gloomy in the cafe to be honest.. but upon sitting down we have a garnishment of sorts with onions, lettuce, cucumbers and a yogurt chutney. They are known for their Lahore Chargha(half or full chicken in mouth watering flavors, spices, and juices)!! Y'all .. let me tell you!! It is fire!! You should order it at least 30 mins in advance. There is literally nothing better thn that chargha! The family usually gets the chargha, keema fry (fried minced meat), Lahore dal (lentiles), naan, and tawa rice (fire azzzz chicken rice)The staff is friendly, the food is priced reasonably, and you cannot get this flavor of spices anywhere else! Anyone with a flavorful palette will appreciate this joint!"
"Our go-to Indian spot for takeout. We've tried the samosa, butter chicken, dal makhani (lentils), bhindi masala (okra), various biriyanis, and Goan fish curry (made with salmon --- and comes with so much delicious sauce we didn't want it to go to waste so added another piece of salmon at home and made it into another meal!). All dishes are fantastic. Since we live close we don't mind that they're still takeout only for right now. Menu is on the pricey side, but it just seems like food cost is up overall and not coming down anytime soon."
"I tried Thalaivas for Sunday lunch with a friend and the experience was good. They offer authentic South Indian dishes at reasonable pricing. My friend and I ordered Thalis for lunch - Veg and Non-Veg. It was a lot of food and I ended up wasting most of it which I kinda regret. Thali contains a lot of curries served with a bowl full of rice, biryani and parotha. The parotha was a bit oily, which was a bit off-putting. Overall, good place to enjoy authentic Indian dishes."
"Let's call this place BoB. It doesn't look like much outside, but you'll want to check out the lunch buffet. It's in the middle of a quiet plaza, and resides in what used to be a night club. The service is prompt and stays out of the way. The buffet has a nice variety of foods which includes naan, rice, vegetarian options, curries, chickens, and more. Of course you'll find some Gulab Jamun which hits your sweet tooth.Overall a spacious place that could use an interior designer's touch to make it feel more lived in and inviting, but the food is pretty good."
"The real deal. Closer and less expensive than a trip to Pakistan. Enormous portions (two people can absolutely share one main course) and a high default level of spice are the watchwords here. The colorful and voluble customers make the experience. Modest facility with a single, much-used bathroom and dedicated parking. Your correspondent likes not loves the kitchen's sensibilities but is equally unqualified to pass judgment on its level of authenticity. The milk-in tea isn't a favorite but certainly is ubiquitous in authentic Pakistani food joints. Rice is very competent and good without being the bestest. The freshly-made naan bread is, however, not to be missed."
"This place is located on the loop. It's down the street from the Hilton and across the street from Massage Envy.We ordered the bowl. Chicken Tikka-Grilled chicken breast marinated in traditional tandoori spices topped with a tikka masala sauce. It comes with Basmati Rice & Wild Rice or House Salad (lettuce, spring mix, carrots). We asked for mild, it was still a bit spicy, but good. Next time I think I'll order the Paneer. The serving was a healthy size. I recommend this place to you. It's a solid meal."
"5/5 experience! Highly recommend checking out Bhoomi, which is located in the 15 W Washington good call in the Loop FYI. Ordered via their website, food was ready and hot right on time, and we enjoyed it at a table in the food hall seating. There's plenty of it!I got the quinoa bowl with the protein of my choice, the vegan kebab. Lots of delicious fresh sliced peppers, cabbage, and onions. Huge serving! The baked pasty with paneer cheese was super delicious. My husband was impressed by the Bhoomi burger, which included a ton of avocado. Super impressed by what I read on their website: *Bhoomi's ingredients are organic, pasture raised, and sustainable unless unavailable. We source local whenever possible.*Sauces are made from scratch in-house*Spices are freshly roasted and ground in-houseThe proof is in the pudding! You can really tell the difference with the fresh ingredients."
"Sometimes when you are craving a dosa and you don't want to go all the way to Chicago, this place is amazing! I actually thought it was better than the Annapurna in Chicago because the dosas are definitely bigger. Everything tasted so fresh! They had tables that we could combine for our party of 12. The kids and adults had a blast trying different things. Our favorite was the cheese dosa and the dahi puri!"
"Kind people. Tasty food, but not the best Indian food I've ever had by any means. Still worth giving it a visit."
