"Great local bar. Pizza and wings were good. We sat at the bar and watched the Bears and had a fun time. Oh and Green Bay sux!"
"It was a cool chill spot. I really like the vibe and that they also have food here. What were we doing at this place, getting the out of towners a taste of malort. We got our shots and didn't get a chance to stay too long. Our waitress was super nice and in hindsight we should have just stayed and hung out here."

"I got acquainted with Bodega this past summer during Taste of Randolph as I had heard so much about it before they got here. It's a chain based out of Florida so i was a bit weary of it at first. Me and my friends stopped in as it was a nice warm day and the wide open space was very appealing. Grabbed me a corona from their bucket near the register and ordered carne asada and al pastor tacos...pretty good. Very warm atmosphere and good music was playing. I've been to the back speakeasy as well which is very cool and the main reason I wanted to check it out. Good margaritas and friendly bartenders. Nice addition to the neighborhood!"
"What a beautiful cocktail bar. On a bright, sunny spring afternoon, it was so perfect. The Gwen hotel has always been a special hotel to me, but I'd never spent time on the terrace. With a friend in town, I decided to finally go there. It would have been too cold for me, but there were fire pits, heating lamps, and tables with fire to keep you warm. Because of these warming features, it's open yr around. I need to come back during the winter and go curling up here. A winter date night idea. The drinks were quite good. Pretty in Pink had pink grapefruit and pomegranate and I could have ordered several more of those. Especially because my friend liked my drink so much, he kept taking sips of it. Hey, order your own. He ordered the Last Thyme. His was good and I don't even love gin, but I wanted to order more Pretty in Pinks. Calories be damned. It was early and we had 3 more bars to go to though. I need to come back when I can order freely off the menu The tuna tartare was good but very small. Not a great choice before a night of drinking and on a previously empty stomach. To be fair, it *was* listed on the "small plates" section of the menu. They weren't kidding. It was small. And $22. But it was good. Loved the caviar on top. He had the good sense to order fried chicken before our night of fun. -the Chicken Milanese. Dressed generously in arugula and manchego and fried to a beautiful golden brown, my only complaint is that it was a just a tad bit dry. Still good though. I had reservations here a few weeks ago, but canceled because it was pouring rain. I'm so glad I experienced it first on a perfect spring afternoon instead."
"We had a large group, and fortunately, we were able to get seated immediately (early evening on a Friday). The manager was so accommodating, and the server was never pushy even with the large group. Food was consistent to the original location, except the garlic knots weren't as soft/chewy or garlicky. The Cluck-Stop was being shared, so we appreciated they cut it in half for us. The Mom's Standby was smaller than I recalled. Overall, food is good for what it is, quick, and it's nice to know this location is bigger since they don't take reservations."
"This is a good spot in the neighborhood for a good, strong drink. We ended up twice here during our stay and both times were legit."
"A fresh look (remodeling) and new managers, Las Islas Bar & Grill has never been better. I have worked in this area for about 10 years. So I was going to this place at least since 2015 or 16. Now we live in Berwyn since 2017 and this is always been our go to place. The service is fast. Everyone has been super nice and they even stayed open during the pandemic with outdoor seating (I actually really miss the outdoor vibes.) Whenever we're in the mood for something delicious and fast, we always end up coming here. It's a plus they have beer because some places don't have alcoholic beverages. While I'm not a big cocktail drinker, they have cocktails too and delicious micheladas. Such a good, solid place and always good quality and good service every time we've been there over the last five or six years at least !! I'm embarrassed we've enjoyed it so much and never done a review!"
"Our peeps are always winding up at different bars. My love and I were lured to visit the Central Park Bar, at an obscure location on Central Park just south of Milwaukee Avenue. The five of us bellied up to the bar and enjoyed half-price Happy Hour drinks (weeknights 4 to 7PM). The cocktails were pretty good, and twice as good as they were half-off. My loved enjoyed her Berry Cute (with Malort and vodka) while I liked my girly-looking Scott's New Party Shirt. After a few cocktails, we really enjoyed looking at the charismatic wall coverings. They also have an outdoor patio, which we did not use that evening as the weather was miserable outside."
"My new favorite after work spot. The staff is friendly, the beer selection is good (light on the number of draft choices but all very solid selections for a variety of tastes), and the place smells like the delicious pizzas they make.Has more of a neighborhood bar feel (which I prefer) with red vinyl stools, a wooden bar top, great music and there are 7 TVs to catch any game you want."
"I had been to the original Kuma's Corner on Belmont previously, but recently on a rainy Sunday afternoon we wound up at the Kuma's Corner in the West Loop on Fulton Market. We originally were headed to a nearby establishment but were stunned to find it closed that day. Our Plan B turned out to be a big thumbs up for our rain-soaked party of five. We were seated right away, and the service throughout our mealtime was on the mark for us with a pitcher of ice water, and an efficiency of ordering and serving of food and drink. My love and I selected brews from Forbidden Root and Three Floyds to go along with the heavy metal decor and tunes. The burgers are served on pretzel buns and include a side of fries. The three young men of our group each ordered the Famous Kuma, and why not? This burger has bacon, cheddar, lettuce, tomato, red onion, and of course the fried egg. I do believe the young men all liked the Famous Kuma. My love and I split the Mastodon, which was topped with bacon, cheddar, fried onion and BBQ sauce. Based on our appetites that afternoon, the savory Mastodon and generous side of fries hit the spot perfectly for the two of us."
"My go-to order for 2 is a pound of the head-on shrimp medium with mad sauce, a side of rice and corn, and fried shrimp (comes with fries). Since this was a special occasion we also got garlic bread and Mad wings. We got this for takeout and the food was delicious eaten 20 mins after picking up.The star of the show is of course, the shrimp. I grew up eating shrimp so I prefer it with the head-on for extra flavor. The corn comes in small slices and is thrown in the bag of shrimp so it soaks up the delicious sauce. If you don't know what sauce to get, try the Mad Sauce. The Mad wings comes with 6 pieces and were surprisingly super juicy and had great seasoning. They were larger, juicier and more tender than the equivalent from Wingstop, and includes Ranch dipping sauce. For lack of better phrasing, the garlic bread was perfectly garlicky and buttery. Rice is perfect to soak up all the extra sauce from the shrimp. I usually like to spoon sauce from the bag directly over my rice. The food goes well with a squeeze of lemon to cut through all the butter. When you order the shrimp, they give you a bib and gloves so you don't have to get your hands or shirt dirty, even for takeout orders (how considerate!) You'll have to peel the shells off the shrimp, but this bit of work is so worth it because it allows the shrimp to soak up all the seasoning.Fun fact: I learned recently from Netflix's Ugly Delicious that this style of food is actually Vietnamese/Cajun fusion. Apparently the traditional Cajun seasoning doesn't include garlic or butter. This reminds me of the Boiling Crab and Kicking Crab chains from California. Do yourself a favor and pick up some shrimp from Mad Boiler, and set aside some extra time for a food coma nap afterwards!"
"To say this place was a great dinner would be an understatement. We had reservations, which I highly recommend because this place filled up very fast on a Tuesday night. The menu was the perfect size and had a ton of options for everyone. We ordered a couple different salads so we could all try and I ordered the ravioli with prosciutto. The food was unreal, but the service was even better. Our server was around ever few minutes checking to see if she could fill our wine and water glasses. By the time we finished dinner the manager had come over to check to see how our meal and experience was. Ashley was so incredibly nice and very helpful in choosing our next lunch and dinner spots. The food was incredible and the service was top notch."

This bar has three main areas. They have outside area. They have a smaller area where the music is a little less for groups that are wanting to engage in more of a conversation and vibes and then they have another section where the music is a little bit louder And still good vibes. The bartenders and servers are amazing. There is no cover to get in. They do have a small food menu to drink. Don't forget to ask the server for card so that you can go through the various drinks and get a punch on your card. They also have an email that you can sign up for discounts updates and specials. Drinks are $15 and pretty good size.

Gorgeous swanky spot for unexpectedly good food and cocktails!Located about 10 (?) floors up, at the lobby level of the Gwen hotel. I've never had a problem getting a spot without a reservation. It's enough of a well kept secret that even on a Saturday night we were seated right away with no trouble. Lovey ambience and decor. I think people maybe don't try this place because they think it'll be a standard hotel bar -- but it's one of my favorite spots for some bites and cocktails if I'm around Miracle Mile! This time around I tried their spanakopita and it was DELICIOUS. I'm still thinking about it days later. That pillow-y soft feta and honey combo is like a dream. Olives/almonds appetizer was tasty as well. My partner always gets their burger when we come here; devoured before I got a photo. As always, fun cocktails and an extensive booze list! Great views from the deck and fireplaces were lit. We'll be back.

This is now becoming one of my favorite neighborhood spots. Conveniently located a few steps from the California blue line, this is the perfect stop on the way home from work, or on the weekend, or pretty much whenever you feel like it. I love getting garlic knots, a slice of truffle shuffle pizza and a beer (they have a great slice + a shot special)... chef's kiss! Today I switched it up and went with the bartenders recommendations. The whatamelon cocktail is just lovely... sweet watermelon with a kick of jalapeño infused tequila. Their liquor distributor wasn't carrying the usual jalapeño tequila they use, so they further infused the tequila themselves to make sure it was up to par. I've got to say, goal achieved, this is even better! Adam (bartender extraordinaire) is on his game! I also told him I was going to change it up from my regular slices and asked for some recs... the excitement with which he recommended the Felicity told me I had to try this. Amazing! Unexpected flavors that work perfectly together. I could've eaten the entire pizza myself (or did I?? )The owner, Robert, is terrific and very active in the community, always helping out. Most recently, I hosted a fundraiser and emailed him on a whim a few days before to see if they could cater - Robert came through and his team totally hooked it up. The food was a hit at our event. I ordered the same amount of pizza that we typically do - all I gotta say is that we always have tons of food leftover. Not this time!

Solid spot to grab a beer after work with friends (also, to chill while waiting for a table at au cheval!). There are a ton of booths and tables of varying sizes both small and large. About 10 brews on tap with something to appeal to everyone. Would recommend!

Always a good time at this bar. Really nice patio area which become enclosed in the winter. Very dog friendly bar (inside & out). Staff are nice here and not pretentious that you sometimes get at Chicago bars. This watering hole has good assortment of liquor options. Happy Hour is from 4 to 7pm and offers 50% drinks. Really no limits on the 50% off. They have some top shelf limitations. I ordered margaritas both times that I have been here and they were yummy. Husband had the old fashion and he enjoyed his drink.

"We came in here today around 3 PM, it wasn't really all that busy. The waitress was nice. She told us about the margarita special of the day. It was a gold pineapple drink, that ended up being ridiculously priced. We were shocked when we saw it was $13.75 for basically a margarita that tasted like juice with very little liquor. We did not know it was going to be that much. It was 100% not worth it. I ordered the burrito supreme which comes with rice and beans for $13.99 but it was two dollars more for steak. I actually really enjoyed the burrito, I thought it was seasoned well and was actually pretty delicious. My fiancé ordered the burrito suizo with chicken. His also came with rice and beans and was around $13. He actually really liked his food, it was real chicken and not canned. He said he would definitely get it again."
"We made reservations at this restaurant for about 30 people. It was awesome because we were able to enjoy a great meal, each other's company, and had no problems splitting the bill. They were able to split the bill between us all and processed all of our credit cards individually (Google wallet tap and apple pay too). The appetizers alone were amazing and we ate every bite. We were so full by the time the main entree came that I had to take most of it home. Here's what we got and my thoughts on them. Appetizers:*Carnitas nachos - the chips were amazing. I think they were made in house they were crispy and delicious with the most delicious nacho cheese. *Hummus - the bread alone was so delicious and you add that hummus and it was *chef kiss. * babaganoush - it was better than I thought it would be. I actually ate some. Not my favorite appetizer but I still thought it was pretty good.Entrees:*Marq burger - didn't get to try but my friend enjoyed it.* fish N chips - didn't get to try but half our group got it and they seemed to enjoy it.* carnitas tacos - I didn't enjoy it as much as the nachos because it had no cheese, but it was pretty good. It came with pickled red onions and jalapenos. *southwest salad with pulled chicken - delicious. My friend gave me some and I ate it all. Refreshing and has these little chips in there. Desert: *Cannoli - wasn't my thing. It wasn't sweet and it had pistachios on it.* chocolate mousse shooters - it was pretty good. Soft and gooey when you use the spoon it came with but not soft enough to use a straw with (yes, we tried). If you like chocolate you will like this. We found out the best way to eat it is to mix and then down it like a real shot.Overall, the place was cozy with nice servers and good food. Would definitely come back. Thanks!"
"Came for Mother's Day. staff are amazing. I had the chicken crispy skin and moist meat. Nice crispy spetzel. The burgers were huge. Loved the cocktails."
"I visited this restaurant with a large group after a meeting. They accommodated our group well the nice large table and they were able to accommodate separate checks, which was lovely. However, I have to say the food was definitely underwhelming. I got the soup of the day, which had lentils and "aromatic vegetables" along with some type of meat but the meat was cut so small I barely noticed them and there was nothing special about the vegetables the soup was warm and tasty but definitely underwhelming as one of the specials. The waiter recommended I get a side because the soup was small, but when the soup came out it was more than enough for a small meal and the truffle fries were also disappointing. When in town for a meeting and trying to visit all the great spots, I would pass on this location if I came back again. The ambiance was great and wasn't too loud, but food left a great deal to be desired."
"I lived in Chicago for 20 years, starting in December of 2000. My friend lived nearby, on Clark and Byron which was two blocks away. This was the first bar I went to when I arrived. Neighborhood joint, but also good enough for people to make it a destination spot to visit. The Southport corridor has changed so much over the past two decades...bars and restaurants coming and going, upscale retail buildings replacing old one story strip malls. But Toons has endured and also thrived. I never lived in a big city before, and it was a crazy experience. I first lived near Lake Michigan on Sheridan- but still came up to Lakeview to play pool and for the first time I saw an indoor shuffle puck game in a bar. The freezer where they keep the popular liquors cold for shots is the same. Reminds me of my childhood and now is covered in stickers and decorations where you cannot find one open millimeter. It felt like nothing has changed since that night just under 23 years ago. My friend Sean now has worked here for almost 3 years now, and I disclose that while stating that he didn't when I first visited so that this is a genuine review of this place. Ally was also friendly, professional and easy to chat with. The entire team looked out for me, Tyler asking if I needed any utensils, extra items, refills- I never needed to ask for anything whatsoever. Laney was also super friendly, turns out we have a couple mutual friends. I'm in town visiting as many friends as I can, while helping my good buddy promote his new tequila line by making introductions- and decided to come by here and get something to eat before going back to my hotel for the night. It's 8 PM and the bar is busy but I was told "it's a slow night" I miss Chicago. Tonight on special was Annie's famous Wisconsin beer cheese soup. Sold! Got a bowl and it came piping hot, hearty with veggies and potatoes and a hot roll that I broke up like mini croutons and devoured it. By the time I remembered to take a photo it was almost gone so I am sorry for that photo heh heh.The food coming out of the kitchen is flying out at an incredible pace. I could watch this all evening. I ordered the popcorn shrimp and asked to sub out the fries with tater tots. Look at the photo below! These are not your ordinary popcorn shrimp. These are essentially actual shrimp (tail free!) and comes with Buffalo sauce and homemade Blue cheese dressing and some truly tasty pickle chips for a relief from all the fried items. I'm really happy to take a trip down memory lane and had an amazing meal while catching up with a friend I haven't seen in a while. Also bumped into some folks I knew from when I lived here- just another part of the amazing place and experience that is Toons. Support small owned businesses! Come on by, eat some great food, and have a few drinks and make some lifelong friends. Thanks to the team here at Toons for making a guy who came alone to eat feel like a part of the family/team dynamic. I gotta give my bud Sean a shout out for introducing me to everyone. Now I'm feeling the food coma coming on so I'm off to my hotel for some much needed sleep!"
"Certainly there's a lot of sushi places around here. Enso is another, and it's among the good ones. It's surprisingly affordable, maybe because it's not that large of portions. About the only complaint is it's not exactly that much food. The sushi is fresh though. After looking around for a place to get sushi, we chose to come here. It's conveniently close to the Damen Blue Line. This place has a cool vibe. Kind of quiet. The prices aren't that bad, especially for around here where it's hipster stuff. It's about $6 for a basic roll. We got a few of these. Best one was the Avocado Roll. It was good in spite of being simple. An example of how good food doesn't need to be elaborate. The rolls were as fresh as food gets. For sure it's pretty easy to find sushi around here but it's harder to find it fresh and cheap. It's possible to get both here. There's also more on the menu such as gyoza, ramen, and other good Asian stuff."
"From the outside and inside, this place is very cute, colorful, and well-decorated. It can be a little crowded, but there was no wait for our ~1pm Sunday lunch. The atmosphere inside is pretty loud and lively. We started with an order of Guacamole Picoso, which was okay. The chips were very crispy, but a bit too oily-- to the point that it was interfering with the chip flavor. The guac was pretty good. I then got the Fajitas with sunny side up eggs. Especially for the price, the portions are pretty small. I also expected the fajitas to come with tortillas, but it unfortunately didn't so it was just chorizo, eggs, and veggies. I did enjoy the fajitas a lot though-- the veggies and chorizo were perfectly grilled and well-seasoned, the eggs were well-cooked, and the burnt chards at the bottom of the skillet were delicious to eat.My friend also got the fajita skillet with chicken and similarly enjoyed it. Another friend got some vegan tacos, which he thought were decent. They do have a solid and distinct vegan menu section, though it's pretty pricey-- most of the items were more expensive than the non-vegan items. My main qualm was that while the staff were friendly, the service was quite slow-- we waited for over an hour for our food to arrive. Otherwise, this is a solid spot overall-- especially if you're coming with a large group to both eat and drink, it would definitely be a fun time!--Price (relative to peers): 3.5/5Food: 4/5 Ambience: 4.5/5Service: 3.5/5Overall Value: 3.5/5"
"Located on the Navy Pier, Bar Sol is a vibrant Latin-inspired cuisine with amazing views of Lake Michigan. During my brief visit to Chicago, I seized the opportunity to grab a snack at this newest addition to the pier's culinary scene, and I was not disappointed. The spot had great beats of lively music and indoors or outdoors seating. I sat at the bar. Service was fast and friendly. The tuna tostadas caught my eye so that's what I chose. The tostadas had very generous portions of fresh tuna, crunch of the tostadas, a great blend of sauces and a kick of spice which I needed. So glad I stumbled upon this new spot!"
"Very classy restaurant, and it's fun to tell people you're eating at Michael Jordan's. The dining is upstairs with a cool walkway over the foyer downstairs. It is located in the Intercontinental Hotel and a good choice if you are within walking or Uber distance. Parking is not plentiful. There is no free bread though, which was disappointing. We got the filet which was just smothered in butter so much it had to be scraped off. The NY Strip comes with pickled red onion which I found unnecessary. Both were tender and juicy. For sides, the roasted baby carrots were really tasty as was the mac and cheese. They were pretty expensive for sides but were big enough for sharing. There weren't a lot of dessert options, so we passed on getting any. The service was good. For a nice occasion, this is a good option."
"Fun fact: I stop for Tacos & this Bodega has a tasty menu to choose from, especially weeknights! While there is strong competition in the River North area (Mercadito, El Hefe, Barrio) this place caters strictly to soft tacos and food comes out really fast so it's great if you happen to be short on time but want to fill your belly full of tacos! Prices are competive, but justified. They also have full service bar with very friendly staff. I'll be honest, after Epic Burger closed down in this space, I was sad and so for me, whatever opened here had to be really good to earn my business. I'm here to say, if you like tacos this is a worthy place to check out in the neighborhood."
"I have only been here for dinners and I was excited when I found out Saffron has lunch buffets on the weekends (Fri, Sat, and Sun)! $16 from 1130a-230p. The variety was great and I enjoyed all the dishes. If you like chicken, they bring you a tandoori chicken for each person and a basket of nan to the table. Buffet options included: papri chaat (loaded chips appetizer), veggie samosa, kesari pulao (basmati rice), chicken curry, goat curry, baigan bhartha, paneer makhani, chana masala, mix vegetables, and 2 desserts - dudhi halwa and kheer..|\---/|| @_@ |..\_^_/..2024"
"I really enjoyed my first visit here. It's very cool yet cozy inside, and the tables are all spaced out far enough apart so people aren't on top of each other, which is great. There's also a very nice outdoor patio. Service was fantastic (thank you to our server, Nick, for being awesome). Our party began the night with two rounds of cocktails. Honestly, this was the only big miss of the night for me, and although the cocktails were extremely well-crafted, they just weren't to my taste. I ordered the Jigglypuff 2.0 first, admittedly just because the name made me laugh. It was so incredibly sweet that after a few sips I knew if I drank more, I'd be sick. Then I tried the Seersucker, which was good (my husband loved it), but just was not for me. Next time I'll try something else or stick with wine, as they have a great wine list and I enjoyed the bottle we had with dinner. The food we had was fantastic. We started with two appetizers, the porchetta tonnato (so good and so innovative!) and the spicy Italian flatbread (delicious!). Everyone at my table chose a different entree and enjoyed it. I had the mafaldine con agnello all'arriabiatta, which was quite good. There was much more meat in it than I expected, too: I assumed there would just be a bit mixed in with the sauce, but you get a ton of lamb along with the pasta, and the sauce has a great kick to it. For dessert, we shared the strawberries and cream, which was also extremely unique. I liked it but didn't love it as much as my dining companions did and will likely try something else next time. And there will definitely be a next time, because this place is really good."
"Naatu is a nice quality, family-friendly Indian restaurant that serves tasty South Indian as well as North Indian dishes. On my recent visit, I had a good experience dining in as my party, and I received good service and tasty, flavorful food. The restaurant was semi-busy when we got there and afterward, it got even more busy. We did not have a reservation, so upon arrival, we were asked if we had one, and if not, there was a wait. We mentioned that we did not know that reservations were required. Luckily, due to the size of my group, we lucked out and scored a table pretty quickly. The service was prompt. The menu variety was good with lots of options from the different regional Indian cuisine varieties. I was in the mood for South Indian food. So, I ordered a dish called Guntur Chili Masala Dosa. It's a savory, fermented rice batter dosa (Indian style crepe) with seasoned potatoes filling. What stood out for me about this dish was that it was spicy dosa with a special chili paste inside it. That's why I ordered it. The others in my party also ordered South Indian dishes, and we also ordered a chili (saucy, not dry) sautéed paneer appetizer and saag (spinach) paneer with rice and garlic naan. Everybody in my group, including me, enjoyed the dishes we ordered. We liked the food for its quality and taste. The flavors and texture were delicious. The chutneys and sambar to go along with the dosas were quite tasty as well. The paneer dishes and garlic naan were to our liking as well. We all agreed that this restaurant is worth visiting again to try the other options they have on their menu. The restaurant was clean and welcoming. The ambiance was pleasant. It had nice decor and lighting. Despite being busy (which is good), the service was on point. Even the restaurant manager checked on us to see how we liked the restaurant and what we thought of the food. I have now found four suburban Indian restaurants (w/ Naatu being the fourth, new one) that serve good, tasty South Indian food. I definitely recommend checking out Naatu."
"Tried Margaritas last Sunday evening. The place is huge and must have a dj on the weekends since there is a dj booth in the back. The bar area is very large. We are at the bar. I had a margarita which was a little sweet but good. We ordered a bunch of different tacos which were all very large and quite tasty. The shrimp one was extra spicy and the steak one was very good. Wanted to try some of the special ones but you can't add those to the combos. Although the bar was empty the bartender wasn't overly responsive which was fine. We continue our search for a new Sunday spot. This spot is good but not an every week place."
"After living in the city for 10+ years, you wonder how food in the suburbs will hold up. Bar Salotto holds its own and then some. My wife and I came here this past weekend for the first time. We had the meatballs, garlic puffs, chopped salad and a hand-stretched pie. Everything was fresh and delicious. Can't wait to go back."
"Finally had the Chilaquiles with chorizo for breakfast - yummy. Would order again!!!!"
"I ordered through Grub Hub recently as I was craving a Philly Cheesesteak and it was phenomenal!!!! Juicy meat, provolone, onions and mushrooms on a french roll! Loved every mouthwatering bite!I heard about the wings and ordered half BBQ and half Buffalo-they were quite large in size unfortunately they were a bit dry. I also ordered the bacon cheeseburger which was a generous portion. It was pretty good.I would definitely order the Cheesesteak again."
"Dropped by before a show and they did a good job considering our time constraint. I loved checking out the caricatures on the walls!"
"I cannot recommend this place enough. A stunning gem. My boyfriend doesn't like raw foods or capers - LOVED the tartar. He said the burger was one of the best he's had and their vodka rigatoni is better than Carbone's. Ambiance is immaculate."
"Pleasantly surprised with my meal. The gnocchi filled me up, and I had leftovers. Flavors were on point. Even though it seemed busy inside, we were able to get a table immediately. Everyone enjoyed their food and the service was nice and efficient. I'll have to come back!"
"You come here to support thoughtful chef driven food that tastes good, but doesn't break the bank.We celebrated a birthday and had been to the former incarnation. The space is similar, but they've made a few updates and while we're unfamiliar with Ukrainian food, enjoyed everything we tried. The service was genuine and Chef Beverly came by to thank us for coming. A few items came out paced oddly, but we weren't in a rush so didn't mind. The standouts were the trout roe tarts, borscht, broccoli and chicken/mushroom dumpling. We also really liked the whole mackerel, but it's not for everyone. I selfishly wish they had brought it out whole and deboned it for us instead of us having to (we made a huge mess). The presentation of the small plates kind of dim sum cart style was great! We tried a few wines and enjoyed them all along with being introduced to wines from countries we don't often sample. Desserts were yum and large and I appreciate that finding street parking even on a Saturday is totally doable. We will come again!"
"The sandwiches are outstanding, and the staff is great. The manager went an extra mile to make sure that we were taken care of. I'll be sure to visit every time. I'm in Chicago."
"When I first heard about this place from someone ear hustling my conversation about awesome cocktail bars a few months ago, I was shocked that a place like this exists in Lincoln Park. I then found out this place is owned by the people that gave us Brandos in South Loop. I have now been a couple of times and the place is awesome. If there was a modern cocktail bar on Game of Thrones, this would be the place. I believe they do tarot readings in the back.I came on a date once and with a good friend of mine visiting from out of town recently. Scene is cool as it has a throne, dim lighting and very intimate setting. Not that big a place and if you want a guaranteed seat, its best to get a reservation. I was lucky enough both times to get a seat without reserving. As a mecal lover, the O'Guillotine is my go to cocktail here! It includes mezcal (of course), lemon, white balsamic beet shrub and finochietto liqueur...very delicious. Maximilian is delicious as well as its kinda like an old fashioned with banana mezcal and bourbon and they set it on fire. Grand Old Fashioned is great as well! Drinks range between $14-$20. Beer and wine is available as well. Love this spot as it great from small groups, dates, a buddy or even a solo mission."
