"This place definitely lived up to the Facebook craze it created! They originally exploded due to their amazing food videos, which included the birria tacos and everyone responded! Lol So yes, if you go on the weekend, there will be a wait. A long one. I waited about an hour and a half on a Friday to get a seat outside. The lot is medium sized but jam packed so street parking might be your best bet. You put your name and number on the list and then sit and wait in the car until they call you. If you go during the week, early in the day, you should be able to bypass the crazy wait. The food was worth all of the wait. I got the birria tacos and king crab legs. They weren't too spicy and the platter was ENORMOUS! It can easily feed 3 people! The tacos were super flavorful, too. I was also able to order smoothies/slushees that are delicious on there own but can also be used as a base to mix with a drink. The service was quick as well and I was surprised given the fact that the place was so packed. This place is definitely worth the wait and worth checking out!"
"I got the one and only burger with cheese. Very plain. Nothing to it except their burger is supposed to be seasoned. I could taste a little bit of it. I felt like it could use more seasoning and even some kind of sauce. The burger is juicy. The service was great. Very nice people and very accommodating. There is some seating available. It's a small space but no one was there when we went so that wasn't a problem. It's a bit divey.Try it if you're hungry. If not, I would go somewhere else."

"The family and I celebrated Thanksgiving here and had an amazing dinner experience. Some of them are not big red meat eaters, but found plenty of options to enjoy. 10/10 would recommend this place. People are friendly, food is AMAZING."
"Food and Service....outstanding!We were visiting Chicago for the weekend and were looking for a place to grab appetizers as we had a super late dinner planned. This place had early reservations and we ended up pretty much having the entire restaurant to ourselves. Our server was delightful. He spent lots of time chatting with us about the history of the restaurant and was just overall so friendly. We sat at a table that had a tribute to a long time regular, Mr. George Burrows. It was fun to learn the history of this patron. We had the Lobster GOT, the Fork & Knife Bacon and a side of Cauliflower Gratin and OMG....these dishes were riiiiiiiiiiich!. The Lobster pieces were nestled in butter, gooey cheese and herbs. The fork and knife bacon was huge! This slab of pork belly was tender and slathered in a smokey sweet sauce. The cauliflower was extra cheesy. This really was the perfect meal and dining experience. Food and service were top notch."
"You already know the steak and fixings are amazing. Great service and a very interesting vibe. I went for work, so thankfully did not have to pay. Not sure I would go if it was on my own dime, but it is a fun experience."
"About a 1-1.5: Wagyu House Chicago by the X Pot has 2 other locations, one in Vega and one in LA.We made advance reservations for an earlier dinner for our group, which was super easy. The menu offers lunch specials, an AYCE yakiniku and wagyu meals at different tiers, an AYCE hot pot menu, as well as various apps and beverages. We went for the platinum level of the Wagyu AYCE Menu, with the added supplemental for the A5 Wagyu Experience - we tried the following meats:+the A5 strip loin steak+the A5 flank steak+the A5 otoro+the chef's special - wagyu cubesThe menu also includes apps, soups, sashimi, maki rolls, tartare, entrees, veggies, seafood/chicken dishes, and desserts. We tried:+black truffle edamame+chicken karaage+kimchi+spicy Japanese pickles+tempura shrimp+shrimp with garlic+miso butter salmon+garlic scallop+otoro uni caviar tartare+wagyu fried rice+wagy bibimbap+chili oil wagyu dumplings+salmon, yellowtail, sweet shrimp, and foie gras sashimi (note that the foie gras is limited per person)+wagyu uni caviar handroll (note that the specialty rolls are limited per person)+wagyu uni caviar nigiri (note that the specialty rolls are limited per person)+seared wagyu foie gras nigiri (note that the specialty rolls are limited per person)+otoro uni caviar hand roll (note that the specialty rolls are limited per person)Note that even though the menu specifically states that it's an 'AYCE', there are still 'limits' in terms of how much an individual can actually eat (such as the A5 strip loin steak, the A5 flank steak, the sashimi, and the specialty rolls...) - kind of a baiting situation, as it's not really what it's being advertised as. Why even include these items onto the menu? The supplemental charges do add up, and the value for the selection that's being provided is definitely not worth it.Service was fine, and the so-called 'immersive dining experience' was interesting; I felt that it was a way to distract the diners from really inspecting the quality of the food and what they were being served. No dice, Wagyu House.Free parking is available with validation.+'AYCE' menu is not an 'AYCE' menu+free parking with validation"
"Fair warning, parties of "one or more" are automatically charged 20% gratuity. Obviously that's not how that works, because the staff has zero incentive. Predictably, the service was not great. Don't cry for me... We ordered one steak and received another. We got half our drink order, yet - automatic 20% tip. What would cause an Argentinian steakhouse to implement such an unusual rule? Do their regular customers not tip appropriately? Perhaps this isn't actually an Argentinian steakhouse? The steak we received, but did not order, was fantastic. It had a certain sweetness in flavor, possibly from a long marinade or brine, and the kiss of a 1,000+ degree grill. The Opera Cake was amazing.Prices are ludicrously high. Truly the highest price I have ever seen for a steak anywhere in the world, right there on Lincoln Ave near Devon, by that one motel. It was a vexing combination of entitlement and indifference."
"Good service, strong tasty cocktails, good menu for all. Review is bit delays. We came in for birthday dinner. We ordered a few dishes between the 2 of us: - meatballs - there were huge and made for great leftovers- octopus - the sauce was good to soak up with the bread- ribeye - it was a bit too charred for a medium steak. the tiny burnt parts were breaking off and blending into the jus ...so it was meh - strip steak - same as above- too burned on the ends and more than medium done. This was a special with soft shell crab on top which was tasty. We had ordered another appetizer but the staff forgot it. They were apologetic about the steaks and made it up by providing a dessert on the house. Won't mind coming back to try again."
"Very classy restaurant, and it's fun to tell people you're eating at Michael Jordan's. The dining is upstairs with a cool walkway over the foyer downstairs. It is located in the Intercontinental Hotel and a good choice if you are within walking or Uber distance. Parking is not plentiful. There is no free bread though, which was disappointing. We got the filet which was just smothered in butter so much it had to be scraped off. The NY Strip comes with pickled red onion which I found unnecessary. Both were tender and juicy. For sides, the roasted baby carrots were really tasty as was the mac and cheese. They were pretty expensive for sides but were big enough for sharing. There weren't a lot of dessert options, so we passed on getting any. The service was good. For a nice occasion, this is a good option."
"My friend and I walked in on a Tuesday evening to a packed restaurant. Little did i expect our neighborhood steakhouse will be so packed on a Tuesday evening. We snagged the last unreserved table and were quite lucky. Matty our server was polite and attentive, we had coffee, tea , lobster bisque , firecracker shrimpAnd salmon. Everything was good except the lobster bisque was a little underwhelming. Glad to see the steady flow of people @ the restaurant. Will be back for sure!"
"We were curious about Prime & Provisions, a steakhouse located in the River North area.Their menu offers lunch, HH, dinner, and dessert, as well as an extensive drink list.We came here for a birthday get-together, and we had a good time. We started off with:+Grilled King Crab bites - with matsutake shoyu, lime, and bearnaise+Black Truffle & Potato Croquette bites - with perigord black truffles+Kaluga Caviar Potato Skin bites - with bacon, creme fraiche, and aged cheddarI had the Lump Crab Caesar, which came with little gem lettuce, topped with some lump crab and garlic parm breadcrumbs. For the main, I went for the 16 oz bone-in, hand-cut filet mignon. The steak is finished with Wisconsin grass-fed butter. As a group, we decided to get sides to share:+Creamed Spinach+Roasted Wild Mushrooms+Parm Cheddar Potato Gratin+Decadent Macaroni & CheeseDon't forget to request bread service for the table, as that is upon request only.We had a booth seating, which was comfortable and intimate, so definitely request for that!Service was friendly and attentive! The restaurant itself has a classy vibe to it, with its nice dark woods and iron fixtures. The chandelier is very pretty!Reservations are highly encouraged. Limited metered street parking in the area.+reservations highly recommended+request the booth seating+order apps and sides as shareables+friend service+metered street parking in the area"
"We came to Kinzie Chophouse for a celebration, making sure that we had made reservations in advance for dinner. Our group was seated promptly when we arrived, which was great. We started off with the following apps to share:+Fruit de Mer - this included crab claws, lobster tail, oysters, and poached shrimp, served with mignonette, lemon-herbed olive oil, soy sauce, and horseradish+King Scallops - the scallops were sauteed and came with crab tartare prosciutto chips, apple trilogy, and lime mole sauce+Octopus on the Grill - with fish roe cream and black-eyed bean saladFor our entrees and sides, we ordered:+the A5 Takamori "Drunken Wagyu' - note that there is a minimum of 4 oz per order+a Delmonico - this was 16 oz; had this horseradish-crusted+a Dry-Aged Tomahawk - this was 36 oz; had this with bleu cheese crumbles+Truffled Whipped Potatoes+Fried Mushrooms - with a creamy gorgonzola sauce+Asparagus - dressed in a lemon butter sauce and fleur de sel+Four Cheese Mac & Cheese - topped with bacon and toasted breadcrumbsService was friendly, welcoming, and attentive. The place is cute and intimate, with the white tablecloths and the nice framed pictures that decorated the walls.Kinzie used to offer valet years ago, but no longer; however, there's limited metered street parking and garage parking available in the area.+different steak-styles available+friendly service+limited metered street & garage parking available +reservations recommended"

Giving it a 3 only because out of all the staff only 1 would wear her mask correctly. If they would have been wearing correctly this would have been a 5 star review. All the others including my server wore mask only covering mouth. That was very disappointing because if I risk Going out to eat these days it's because I am thinking the business is taking precautions to not contaminate food or customers with possible COVID. As for the food, we went specifically to eat the birria and outdoor seating. THAT did not disappoint. I probably will not be back u til after more normalcy so I'm not worried about my health.

Still delicious. But they stop taking care of the spot. They need a renovation. Tacos we're delicious. The T bone steak still the best.

It's one of our favorite places to dine. Both of our family and my close friends keep loving this place. Their food is always fresh and delicious, service is always excellent and prompt, and the restaurant is always clean with great music playing. We prefer coming to Brazil Express, because of their excellent service and mind-blowing dishes. We feel the meats taste better, like the cozy atmosphere and the staff always make us feel like VIPs. Will highly recommend this place to all the people near the area. Thanks for an awesome service!

Just returned after quite some time. Everything was perfect. The best it has ever been for us.Excellent fun service. The steaks (filets) were cooked exactly as requested.I understand why some feel the coating is too salty, but we loved it. The beef had great flavor.Drinks were excellent. Asparagus was properly cooked, and I am stupid for baked potatoes. Our server was amazing and fun.

The ambience is hip, intimate, and romantic. It's a darker dining room but lit with drippy candles and the perfect decibel of music. Our server Sarah was amazing, giving us all the info we needed to select our dinner while also being informative about suggestions. She made our two children feel at home, and they enjoyed the experience. The wagyu experience was a highlight, as was the order of clams. Don't fill up on the complimentary chips with caviar onion dip, because there's also a delicious bread course before your meal arrives. They also serve complimentary cocktails (or mocktails) that were a huge hit. The potatoes were delicious and our steaks were perfectly cooked. We would absolutely recommend this for a celebration or if you're looking for a very nice steak dinner. Be prepared to spend the $$$$ but it's well worth it.

I returned for their BBQ for lunch, and I picked the premium again since I am still determining when I will visit Chicago soon. I made the reservation at 12:30, but I was able to get in earlier since they just opened. I wish they would offer hot pot and BBQ together so I don't have to return to try them. I recommend BBQ over hot pot, but my friend prefers hot pot since it is less oily.Good-quality Japanese wagyu comes in various cuts that offer different textures. However, I would rather pay more for the a la carte hot pot in the Las Vegas location.

The ambiance is cozy all through this restaurant. Walked in hungry, sat immediately by a very warm hostess. We sat a perfect two seater. Our waitress was very pleasant and explained the menu perfectly. We opted for mussels and frites for an appetizer and they were perfectly cooked, tender, and flavorful. For entrees: the chicken milanese WAS DELICIOUS. Whatever the sauce is... keep making it because it was so flavorful and well accompanied to the crispy chicken cutlet. The macaroni and cheese was creamy and the shells were tender. A really solid, savory, home cooked meal is the vibes we were getting from the restaurant, the service, and the food selection. Oh and the drinks were tasty as well.

"I've been wanting to try this spot that is tucked away in river north. I love the old school vibes and wish some frank sinatra was playing in the background to top it off, but no music was playing this night. It's so cozy inside as well, but it was tough to get a waiter's attention at first. I had a couple of glasses of the Chianti which I liked over their cab. We had the grilled calamari to start, which was so tasty and delicious with a great sauce to dip your bread in. We also had the lasagna which came with a nice side salad and potato chips. It was very filling and satisfying to share. Overall I love the old ambiance of this place and would wanna try some more menu items! Great for a family night or date night."
"Los Tablas has been a staple in Lakeview for decades. I've been coming here since they had a small location across the street. They expanded the dining area and edit a larger bar area right by the host when you enterThe service is familiar and has been consistent since they're opening. They are inviting and recommend the best items on the menu. Colombian steak replicates many of the Latin and southern American flavors with their well spiced and predominantly well done meats. I order it the combination plate which consisted of Colombian sausage, pork belly, plantain, and steak. All delicious and tasty food."
"Gloomy and pouring buckets outside, but inside Mixto it was bright and cheery with pretty tile-topped tables and friendly staff. We came in during brunch, so the menu reflected both breakfast and lunch items. Some of us ordered a Greek omelet, a smash burger with sweet potato fries, and a grilled chicken sandwich. I ordered a Cobb salad with grilled salmon-- the greens were fresh, the bacon bits were extra crispy, and the salmon was cooked perfectly with a whole sliced egg. This was a generous, colorful, filling entree sized salad. My friend had a cup of tasty tortilla soup and also enjoyed the chicken tostadas topped with lots of fresh avocado and accompanied by a green side salad. This was a cozy family restaurant that takes pride in showcasing quality ingredients and providing tasty food with good value. They were friendly and accommodating. I hope to return to try the dinner entrees."
"We had a lovely anniversary dinner here in LF location. Arrival: Valet parking is available and there is a coat check in a foyer, before you enter the restaurant. Both are much appreciated conveniences. Special occasion: I mentioned our anniversary in the reservation notes and the hostess confirmed it with us. Shortly after seating our waiter brought us two glasses bottle of sparkling wine and wished us happy anniversary. The wine was quite tasty. He also brought us a complimentary desert. Atmosphere: cozy, trendy, and just enough elegant without being stuffy. There was energy and good feel. Decor is on a darker side, it is a steakhouse, after all, but modern. Service: Buntit was attentive, knowledgeable, and did not rush us to turn the table. Food: everything was tasty. We had lobster and shishito peppers, wedge salad, filet mignon with chimichurri sauce, broccoli, roasted potato hash, and chocolate cake. Nice spirit selection, not large but everyone can find something they like. Now we need to check out their other location."
"The new restaurant where Bandera used to be is AMAZING. I never thought I would love Salmon with jalepenos and mint and other herbs. It was delicious. The expresso martini is made with vanilla and expresso infused grey goose. The table, the service the food - all 5 stars!!! Can't wait to go back."
"Had some excellent food at this kind of classy but still casual place in Buffalo Grove. It's kind of like a sports bar but also is like a restaurant. Vin 90 has a pretty wide variety from pub grub to sushi. Prices are kind of high, which is the only bad thing about it. The menu still has a few items that aren't as pricy though. About the only bad thing is the prices, especially on food. It's not bad on some things however. Take a look and there will be some good ones. It's about $12 for the cheapest cocktails. Really not bad for the fancy suburbs. Of course we got a few. The best was the Spicy Orange Mule. Probably the most interesting and unique Mule I've ever had. This was Orange vodka, ginger beer, and lime with a kick. Because we're pretty cheap we got the cheapest food on the menu just about. The Maki rolls are about $5 or so. Much better than the $65 Lobster Rolls. We got the Avocado and Cucumber Rolls, and these were probably about as good as those, just saying. Proves you can cheap out here. The rolls were a pretty good amount for the cheap price. Could check this place out some time again. It has cheap and very expensive items. There's something for those on a budget or for those who can spend whatever."
"Our table wasn't ready so we went to get a drink in back lounge. Cute lounge. You can choose from a tasting menu or a la carte menu. We did a la carte. Pork belly, wagyu and short ribs. Korean pancakes, Kimchi stew and the grill accompaniments. Super yummy and we were so full. Meats are grilled by the wait staff. Service was great and attentive."
"Tango Sue ranks high even though we rarely visit. It was a nice summer night, we sat outside and were seated very quickly.Made the mistake of forgetting they don't provide alcohol so my husband made a quick trip to a store around the corner to pick up a bottle of wine.Skirt steak with potatoes was perfectly cooked, flavorful and juicy and the chimichurri always hits the spot!"
"Our dining experience at Bazaar Meat Chicago was absolutely outstanding! We started with the most amazing cocktail, the Reverse Carajillo, which featured aquavit and cold brewed coffee served frozen with a tres leche cold foam - a true masterpiece. For appetizers, we indulged in the jamon experience, featuring aged jamon served with crusty tomato bread, beautifully presented on a plate with the jamon arranged like it was part of a woman's dress. The Philly cheesesteak sandwiches were a delightful twist, with cheese stuffed inside mini French puffed baguettes and topped with slices of Kobe beef. And who could forget the cotton candy foie gras appetizers - a unique and delightful treat meant to be savored in one bite. Also don't miss out on the Jose Tacos! They were unlike the tacos you've come to know. The jamon were served on seaweed with caviar and a gold leaf! Nice elegant touch. So tasty! It was so hard to pick a favorite amongst all the appetizers. The highlight of all the appetizers was the beef tartare prepared tableside, a culinary spectacle that was as delicious as it was impressive. And then came the main course - the wagyu ribeyes cooked to a perfect medium rare. Accompanied by sides like garlic mushroom caps, asparagus, buttered mashed potatoes, and piquillo peppers, every bite was a symphony of flavors. Best steaks I've had so far!!!We also got the bite sized desserts that were so cute and scrumptious! The service was top-notch, adding to the overall wonderful experience. Bazaar Meat Chicago truly delivered a culinary delight that we won't soon forget."
"This is a really special place and an amazing experience. I went here with my friend for our friendversary dinner and we had an incredible time. We got a great wine rec from our server, and ordered a combination of specials and standard menu items. It's definitely a crowded busy little spot, and not quiet at all, so more of a vibe and an experience than a major conversation spot. Even so, it felt intimate and really special. I would definitely be back for future special occasions. Everything we ate was outstanding."
"Walked into Folklore Argentine Grill because we wanted to try something new. The atmosphere is nice with unique lighting and flamenco music. There are two dining rooms. The first is smaller and has a more casual vibe. The second, main room is livelier but has a more romantic feel. Sat at the bar for a few minutes while they found us a table. Tried the pauloma (that's how they spell it) and it was excellent. Strong and tasty. Tried the caipirinha as well and that was just as good. We were seated in the main room and our waiter was very friendly and patient as we took some time to order. He brought out complimentary French bread which was delicious and is definitely made in house. We started with the tortilla de espinaca which was fresh and lighter, and serves 3-4. Next we had the chicken and spinach & cheese empanadas. Both were very good and I'm sure the crust is made in-house as well. Neither of them were greasy. Last we had the berenjena which was flavorful but pretty rich. This Argentine restaurant stands out as authentic with freshly made dishes in a nice area of Wicker Park."
"Came here first time on Friday night with my friend I've known for over ten years. The buck oysters are unbelievable and the pros fruit to crusting was savoury sweet and crunchy .... Happy hour is 8 dollars less than the regular food menu. We had 16 oysters in total( I probably had one too many haha. ) we also had steak tartare! ( well marinated and just the right texture).the octopus main course was probably one of the best octopus I've had. (It melts in your mouth like butter and soft Gruyère cheese) We also had two cocktails each, Negroni and Paloma spritzer for me ( with tequila(, and two of the chefs dealers for my friend) The ambiance service good lighting was all I pre able and the place was Jam packed on a Friday night!"
"I came across an add on IG for this restaurant (which I've been planning to check out) and they had a promotion to download the inKind app to get $75 off a $225+ bill so we came in on a Friday night which happened to also be around our anniversary so i mentioned that in our Open Table reservation and also requested a quiet table. We were seated right away and in the back which we preferred bc it was kinda loud, nothing offensive, but we just prefer no distractions during dinner. Our server was extremely well versed in the menu and very...lets say...passionate in her delivery. I didn't mind but it was a bit intense for my husband lol. She went thru almost all of it which we appreciated bc my husband was planning on the beef cheeks but when she explained that was a pasta meal he changed his mind. We ended up going with the hamachi appetizer and splitting the bone in ribeye and mashed potatoes. Everything was delicious and cooked perfectly. They also brought out a complimentary dessert which was pretty good but I can't remember what it was. Our favorite steakhouses are RPM Steak and Bavette's and this was on par with them. We had a cocktail and a bottle of red and everything with tax and tip came out to $340 which is slightly less than our favorites and this spot is not downtown so we'll definitely be back when we don't feel like dealing with dt traffic. If you're a fan of steakhouses, check it out, esp if they still have that promo. One thing to note is that parking is tough but they do have valet."
"Rosebud has a few locations throughout Chicago. They are synonymous with good Italian food. When I saw that a Rosebud opened a new location since my last trip, right on Randolph/Michigan, next to Millennium Park, I knew my group had to go. No surprise, the food was flavorful and tasty, they tend to do Italian right. I had the Gnocchi alla Vodka which was perfectly prepared. Don't be surprised, the portion sizes are ALWAYS bigger than expected. I like Rosebud, this location is open with good lighting. We sat on the second floor which afforded a great view of Millennium Park."
"This cozy hometown bistro is a gem! The friendly and attentive staff made us feel right at home. Our waiter was knowledgeable and ensured our comfort throughout the meal. The food was absolutely delicious, and I loved every dish I tried. Whether you're looking for a romantic date night, a family gathering, or a casual hangout with friends, this restaurant is the perfect choice. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a delightful dining experience."
"My partner and I had an absolutely incredible experience at Bavettes. We booked a late night reservation to celebrate a special occasion because so many friends have raved about the meal here that we knew we had to visit during our trip out here! The interior is quite large and ornate, really giving it a classic steakhouse feel. We were seated at a more secluded table with comfortable chairs, which made it even more special for our celebration. To start, we each got a cocktail (my french martini was DELICIOUS), and we shared an order of the house made butter and bread. The butter had the perfect consistency and flavor and was sooooo creamy. Entree-wise, we got both the rib-eye and the strip. Both were seared and cooked perfectly to our preference (medium rare) and were incredible cuts of meat. Sharing 2 steaks may have been bold (we left very full), but I will say it definitely helped keep us fueled for our trip!At the recommendation of a friend, the sides we chose were Truffle mac and cheese, along with an order of the fries. Of the two, I definitely enjoyed the Mac and cheese a little more, though the aioli served with the fries was delightful. For dessert, we opted for the chocolate mousse at the recommendation of our waiter.. a 10/10 recommendation - perfect texture and sweetness. The crust was almost like an oreo crust. So tasty! We paired it with a port wine that brought us back to our travels to Portugal. There's a reason it books up so fast - would definitely recommend coming for a celebratory meal!"
"First time at Smoque Steak as invited to dine in the Fall Feast, 6 course tasting menu perfectly prepared and paired with wine flights. The entire experience lasted around 2 hours, I was not able to finish all the dishes and was happy to hear you can take what you want home (food only). There is plenty of parking all along the street and a private lot. Highly recommend Smoque Steak and you can purchase raw steaks too."
"Beautiful restaurant with a beautiful staff. We came in (no reservations) and was immediately greeted and seated.Their happy hour is limited and a bit pricier that most I have seen...but the food is amazing! We ordered the fried salmon, wagyu burgers, and Caesar salad. SO GOOD!! And the drinks were amazing!I also love they give you fun icebreaker conversation cards....such a cool and fun touch! I seriously enjoyed this beautiful restaurant and will be sure to visit again!"
"We recently went here for the first time on Christmas Eve and we really enjoyed our experience! The hosting staff isn't the friendliness, and it's not the fanciest of places... but the food was great, and the staff who waited on us were great. The amount of food you get too is crazy! Plus most hibachi places do rice with your protein... Tokyo does noodles AND rice! I'd recommend and we'll be back!"
"The ambiance is very comfy and modern. The food delicious! We ordered the Carnivore Package. It came with 10 selected steak cuts, veggies, stew, white rice, and a sushi combo. It was a great package with lots of delicious food. You have the waitress who has help, cook the food at your table. The good is fresh and tasty. All the cuts of meat were great. For desert you get a scoop of soft serve ice cream with strawberry topping and it is delicious. It was so good I asked for a second serving and they brought another one out. Highly recommend this place."
"I had been wanting to try this place for quite some time; however I was really underwhelmed by the ambiance. The decor was beautiful, but it was very brightly lit and loud inside to give off touristy vibes. People were clearly stopping in from out of town and shopping along Michigan ave, so I guess I should have expected this vs a more romantic atmosphere. Service was still great though. We had a couple of drinks, including some delicious glasses of wine with our seafood tower. The seafood was very fresh and excellent quality, which I would expect for the price. Because of the atmosphere though we decided to have our entree elsewhere. Next time I'll have to see if the patio is better for my taste!"
"Wavering between 3-4 stars, overall good but not great experience. Service 4.5 - service was very attentive and polite, normally would be full points but got wrong order (asked for unagi roll and got dragon, which was fixed politely, and side order of asparagus instead of mixed veggies which I didn't bring up) and towards the end of the meal when service got busy sat for 10-15 minutes waiting for them to take my card.Food 3 - As someone who loves steak and sushi, I was somewhat excited and underwhelmed. Skirt steak was tasty, well seasoned/marinated and went well with the mashed potatoes/chimichurri but slightly overcooked (asked for medium rare got medium/medium well). Sushi rolls were tasty but honestly nothing crazy out of the ordinary, at $20-25 per roll I expected better value for money. Drinks ordered spring in Kyoto which was overpoweringly sweet, and daiginjo sake which wasn't worth $23/glass unfortunately.Atmosphere 4.5 - very nice modern and upscale feel, very nice ambiance and extremely polite and friendly staff lead to a pleasant experience Price 2 - very pricey for what they offer, relatively small portions on steak as well. I'm assuming this is due to being inside the hotel and having a lot of customers traveling/expensing for business but not worth it for paying out of pocket."
"The Palm is a true classic.Located in or connected to The Swissotel Hotel, it is convenient for visitors staying at the hotel and locals alike. The Lakeshore East neighborhood has really filled in, with a ton of residential high-rise buildings and several hotels. The shape of the var and dining room is unique. It feels like there are a lot of angles, which give a unique and interesting vibe. Floor to ceiling windows allow a ton of natural light in and makes it easy to watch the city nightlife too. A lot of wood beams keep the coziness apparent.I love the staff here. They really make a great place even better. Curt the Manager is incredible. He is so personable and kind. The bartenders are always efficient and friendly. For lunch, I always want to have Darlene take care of me. She is funny and personable. I love all of the food I have tried over the decades. My favorite is the GiGi salad. It is big and filling, yet light and fresh. I could eat it every day!Street parking is still pretty plentiful so there is no reason not to visit!"
