I wasn't and they were slammed! Not a problem, they quickly took my order and in no time at all, food was up! People typically pre order here I came to find out. I had the pork Souvlaki sandwich.Pork Sandwich as it is called on the menu, was possibly one of the best Pork Souvlakia I have ever had. Perfect blend of spices, fat and char. I literally pushed everything out of the sandwich and dug into the meat.Do your self a favor and order the Souvlaki itself. You can thank me later!"

"Ordered this as a bogo promo on a delivery app. Was pretty good and i enjoy that you can select your own toppings, while at an extra charge, wasn't outrageous.Knocked a star off as the pita was slightly stale or not as soft as a typical gyro and the Greek fries were soggy (not from delivery, one can tell the difference). No photo of the fries."

We also love their chicken dinners and they will even put BBQ sauce on it if you prefer. The spinach pies are also stuffed with lots of spinach and feta. Very good. You need to stand at the counter in front of the cash register to let them know you are ready to order. Otherwise they will assume you are still deciding, so please don't think of them as rude. They are just being polite by not bugging you so you can take your time."

My favorite plate is the chicken breast dinner or the chicken kabob which are always marinated/seasoned to perfection. The menu has a lot of variety so there's something for everyone. Unfortunately they serve their plates with plastic utensils so cutting up the food is sometimes a bit of a chore."

David-Anthony G. "It's been nearly a year since my visit, but here goes this draft in my draftbox, begging me to finish! My friend brought me here for my 41st bday last August. It's a casual, but formal affair, if that makes sense. The space itself is pretty grand and you can tell a great amount of attention went into its detail. We sat in what appeared to be a sunroom, the entire restaurant was packed (but not in a mess hall sort of way). While the restaurant would not be one I'd opt for visiting (out of my price range and in the heart of Logan which isn't my cup of tea but perfect for my friend who's the king of showing off--love him to death), it was certainly worth the visit. This restaurant hit every nail on the head when it comes to an experience, a word that has lost its luster in today's greedy, corners-cut, post-covid climate. Our server made recommendations and got to know us, our runner delicately deboned our fish before our very eyes, a manager poked by, since we ordered wine a wine specialist ran down an extensive list of wines and their backstories. Just perfect. We also went for lamb chops, a beet salad and dessert specially adorned with a candle. You can tell the restaurant is operated by professionals dedicated to their craft and anyone with a restaurant (or business) could benefit paying them a visit to experience the experience of what an actual experience should look and feel like!"

We met our friends there and they were sitting in the back to me, which almost seems like a hallway, so sat at high top table for four. Right near the door. We started with an appetizer of the Greek fries. Wow they were delicious hot fries with the wonderful seasoning, lemon and feta cheese. I could've ate that for a meal. It was delicious. I ordered the calamari appetizer which the flavoring was good. It came with pepperoncini lemons the flavor was great but I think with the veg it lost its crispness . Octopus appetizer was good almost minced very tender seasoned with lemons I ordered the avgolemeno . Beautiful presentation gigantic portion but didn't care for it. Tasted like the puff from the lemon was in it and didn't card for it. They were kind enough to take it off our bill. The Grecian chicken was fantastic so tender and succulent with cloves of garlic and crispy potato chunks that were very tender on the inside sitting in this incredible lemon sauce. Our friends had gyros and salmon special. They finished with a bread pudding . The food is outstanding I have to come back here and try the brunch."

Denyce M. "Came here for a birthday dinner for a friend with about 20 people. The Doctor and I got there early and asked if we could have our check separate from the group so we could pay for the birthday person. The server said they did not do separate checks, even though there was nothing on the menu that said that. We didn't expect that everyone was going to ask for separate checks, just wanted two checks for the table. Let's get to the food. When the best meal of the night is the appetizer, there is not much that can be said about the menu. The octopus was amazing! It was grilled to perfection and it was tender. Everything else was just ok. It got the Makaronada Me Kima (greek spaguetti with seasoned ground beef, tomatoes & herb sauce). The dish itself was good, just didn't knock my socks off like the octopus did.The Doctor ordered a gyro entrée but was brought a gyro sandwich instead. Due to the wait, he chose to eat it instead of having the server bring the right order. We are not big on sending food back, so we usually just pay and leave, but because we were celebrating a friend, we stayed. This was most likely going to be a one and done deal for me unless someone I care about really has a strong need to go there. There are too many great Greek restaurants to just settle. This is really a two star review, but that octopus gets a star."

The cool name of the place caught my eye, so I gave it a try. Glad I did. They have several ordering options, including bowls, plates, and salads. I got the Veggie Plate. It's about $14, the only bad thing I can say. The price was high but there was a ton of food on this. For this plate, it comes with dolmanthes and falafel. There's baba ghannouch and hummus too. Also you get choices of sauces and sides. I got cucumber salad and tabbouli. Also you get pita bread. That's a lot. Boy, after all that food I needed to run around again. I could eat here every day and become a fatass. The prices luckily will keep that from happening thankfully."

Mirella K. "Y'all know I'm a sucker for Greek food, and this place had one of the BEST Greek food I've ever had.Located in Lincolnwood, Backyard Grill is a mid size counter-service food place with parking on all sides of the restaurant. It's very easily accessible and there were a ton of spots available (we came here on a Tuesday around 11:30am).I got the chicken skewer dinner (2 chicken skewers, Greek potatoes, rice, vegetables, and pita with tzatziki sauce), a side dinner salad but added feta and olives to it, and then my sister got their cold cut salad (blend of chopped crispy iceberg & romaine lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, red & green peppers, red onion, egg, turkey, ham, salami, cheddar & Swiss cheese). It was really big! The portion sizes here are above average in my opinion and are all fairly priced. I was obsessed with my chicken skewer plate. The chicken was juicy and charbroiled perfectly, and the Greek potatoes were so lemony, herby, and soft. Their feta and Greek dressing here are A1, too! The food did not disappoint. The only reason I docked a star is because of the inside and ambiance. There was one long table in the restaurant with a bunch of papers, a laptop, flyers, newspapers, and just a bunch of random stuff on it which didn't look too good and no one could sit at. They have a lot of long tables put together and not a lot of 4-tops or 2-tops, so you may have to sit next to strangers if it's busy. The place could've been a little cleaner. Nonetheless, I would easily come here again and try other things off their large menu. The food was fantastic!!"

The falafel was so dry, I couldn't even swallow it, and the hummus was a very odd texture and lacking in taste. This location in Cicero is their third establishment. It has an old-school, 1950s decor with stools, gumball machines and an authentic vintage diner decor. The staff is always friendly in their own playful, West side way. After ordering your food, don't be caught off guard by hearing one of the cooks bark back if it contains special instructions. The playful banter between the guests and the kitchen is all part of the show. Just laugh and enjoy some of the comments you hear while waiting for your order. Just don't dare order ketchup on your hot dog. This is considered sacrilegious. Its a 312 thing. The prices are probably among the most affordable in the city. In order for the owner George to be able to afford this, he dedicates himself daily on-site to training a quality team that uses quality product efficiently. Many of the recipes are his own that he learned while growing up in Greece. His daily presence also creates a super warm and communal atmosphere among regulars.
