"Cute place to grab dinner. Came on a Saturday evening with some girlfriends. Reservation was made in advance for our party of three. Paid parking located on North. Started out with a shot of Mamajuana which is a spiced alcoholic beverage made by infusing a mixture of rum, red wine, and honey with tree bark and herbs. Thanks for the birthday shot!!! Remind me of my trip to Punta Cana. For drinks we ordered three very different cocktails. I had the passion fruit caprihina which was good. The best cocktail was the Pina Colada. It was a very refreshing take on a drink I usually associate with the pool. The good here is served family style tapas and available in small, medium or large. I enjoyed the jerk chicken and the oxtail special. All in all a cute spot. Left slightly hungry which always happens with tapas."
"Located on the Navy Pier, Bar Sol is a vibrant Latin-inspired cuisine with amazing views of Lake Michigan. During my brief visit to Chicago, I seized the opportunity to grab a snack at this newest addition to the pier's culinary scene, and I was not disappointed. The spot had great beats of lively music and indoors or outdoors seating. I sat at the bar. Service was fast and friendly. The tuna tostadas caught my eye so that's what I chose. The tostadas had very generous portions of fresh tuna, crunch of the tostadas, a great blend of sauces and a kick of spice which I needed. So glad I stumbled upon this new spot!"

It was a nice summer night, we sat outside and were seated very quickly.Made the mistake of forgetting they don't provide alcohol so my husband made a quick trip to a store around the corner to pick up a bottle of wine.Skirt steak with potatoes was perfectly cooked, flavorful and juicy and the chimichurri always hits the spot!"
"Let me start off by saying this is a 3.5 star review. Tiffany's is a small space, with two tops in the windows, a main bar with bar stools and a few four top tables. It is BYOB and that is amazing to be able to bring my own bubbles. The staff was very friendly and chatting and fun. The physical space was cheery and comfortable. And the food was very good. The Queen loved her steak and eggs, as did I. The waffles were nice and The Doctor loved his omelette. The other folks that were with us got the Sausage and Waffles and the standard Tiffany breakfast...both commented on how good everything was. What was not so good was the service when it came to getting the food to the table. The restaurant wasn't quite at capacity, but was relatively full. We were able to place our order right away, but the food for the table did not come out together. Our friend that ordered the standard breakfast had toast, but that did not come out until he was finished with his meal. He jokingly said that toast is the dessert for breakfast and ate it. Same for The Doctor, the toast and side of bacon came out almost after he was finished with his meal. Not sure how big the kitchen is, but it was clear that they could not keep up with the orders coming in or were not well organized. There were two people who came in after we had placed our order, but got their food well before ours.I would love to come back here to explore the dinner menu as it looks amazing, but guessing I would come when they first open when the kitchen isn't that busy. If that doesn't improve on our next visit, this will definitely turn into one of those places I only do take-out for. Here's hoping second time is a charm."
"Ahh! This used to be Cesar's, remember that? This is the same size as Cesar's but a whole new look. They have drag shows every weekend. The staff and service is fantastic."
"Solid little neighborhood diner! I have been here 2 times for breakfast in the morning. The breakfast and service were good! I was satisfied. Definitely will be coming back!"
"Tasty authentic Guatemalan food! Freshly prepared and hot. We enjoyed the pupusas, tamales, empanadas, and rellenitos. Easy to order online and quickly pick up. Easy parking in front, just look for the Guatemalan flag."
"We went to Cariño tonight for their late-night taco omakase and I couldn't recommend it more. The restaurant itself only seats 20, but the omakase is 6. The taco tasting was tons of fun and felt really unique and personal. They started us with a beautiful oyster before moving into the rest of the courses which included numerous tacos along with a few other goodies. The service was perfect and the vibes were immaculate. We can't wait to come back."
"Can't wait to go back. The food was incredible, and the atmosphere so fun, the music and outdoor patio space was very enjoyable and the service was on point!"
"We came here for my wife's birthday on a Saturday night. The evening started out quiet, with a rather empty dining room. The place got packed by the time we were heading out. My guess is that people come later so they can enjoy the this place when it converts into a lounge. The service for the most part was good. It started out great, but as more people started coming in, the service got slower. Took about 20 minutes to get our bill so we could pay and get out. We started off with their Queso Fundido and forgot to bring tortillas. Everything else went pretty smooth though. My wife ordered their Bandeja Paisa tacos and I ordered their Steak & Frites. The tacos were really flavorful. They came with chorizo, skirt steak, plantain, Chicharron, quail egg, aji, and avocado. A lot of stuff going on there but they all went so perfectly inside the tortilla. Wouldn't mind ordering these again. The skirt steak as tender, and you get a little heat with the chorizo. My steak was cooked perfectly. It came with chipotle chimichurri, habanero aioli and a lot of fried that we couldn't finish. We also ordered a few drinks and they were all tasty. Fruita Fresca was our favorite. Overall a satisfying meal and decent night. Will definitely be returning."
"Amazingly, almost shockingly good.Pretty extensive menu with all the favorites. Strong margaritas and very kind and fast service. We arrived about an hour before our showtime next door at Logan Theater. We got drinks and dinner with enough time to get our pick of seats next door. They were out of poblano sauce, which made my date very sad and they only accept tips in cash. There is an ATM on site, but you should probably be prepared. The complimentary chips were also slightly stale and cold, but the accompanying salsa was very good. I ordered the Chimichanga Souiza and my date had the taco plate (al pastor). The Chimichanga is giant. Like as big as Andre the Giants forearm. All in all would totally eat here again; either dine in or take out."
"Ahh! This used to be Provare, remember that? Provare moved a block west. This is from the folks that's behind Rooster which is a few blocks west. I had the Pork Slider. Everything was very good.P.S. Starting January, Tues. & Wed. 3pm-9pm, Thu. 3pm-10pm, Fri. & Sat. 3pm-11:30pm."

Honestly, I loved everything that I got from here. The pan latin flavors and quaint eating space make this a unique and must-try restaurant in Chicago. The stand-out dish we got was definitely the pulpo a la plancha (octopus). Now I'm not one that typically enjoys octopus, as it can easily be overcooked and become rubbery. But this octopus was cooked perfectly. It melted in your mouth. The other dishes we got were also very good and extremely flavorful. We got the empanadas and plantains, which are both great vegetarian options. We also tried the jerk pollo which was cooked perfectly. The chicken was not dry at all, though I wouldn't say it tasted like jerk seasoning (maybe more bbq?). To end the night, we tried the espresso tres leches at our waiters recommendation. The cake itself was not as soft as I would have expected. But the flavor combination was exquisite with the abuelita chocolate on the bottom. Pro tip: take home the espresso tres leches and heat it up! It gets nice and soft and soaks up all the chocolate at the bottom... so good!

We dodged in here when it started to rain after a fun day exploring Chicago, and grabbed a spot at the bar. Tim, our excellent bartender was quick, efficient, attentive and kind. My friend ordered the pink flamingo and loved it. For food, I got the tuna ceviche tostadas. I was absolutely blown away by the flavor, texture and presentation. The serving size was much bigger than I anticipated so that was an awesome surprise, especially for the very reasonable $22!Overall this was a comfortable and welcoming place that I'm glad we stumbled in to and I 10/10 would stumble in again.

The portions are HUGE here! My husband and I usually share the Filet and an appetizer. You can pay a split fee and get a second portion of salad. Everything from the bread to the appetizers to the filets/sides are AMAZING and such a steal for the price! The inside is dark and moody! They have candles on the table for mood lighting.

I went with my family here and we had a blast! The ambiance was amazing. It is beautifully decorated inside and cute for pictures. The chef really went above & beyond! The food was so flavorful and filling. It was not too pricey either. The vodka pasta was a must! If you are ever near Clark street and are craving some good food, this would be the spot! I will definitely be coming back!

Here's my extremely honest review of Mayfair restaurant. Honestly if you're just coming here for the food; the food is definitely tasty and 5 star quality with ample portions. However the interior of this diner is underwhelming and shabby. Also you have to walk through the kitchen area to get to the bathroom and take note beverages are printed on a chalkboard wall. I didn't realize this and went with my server's rather expensive suggestion. She suggested a large strawberry horchata drink which tasted like a child's strawberry Qwik drink.I ended up ordering a steak skillet which comes with your choice of eggs delicious home cooked potatoes some cheese and your choice of either French toast mini pancakes or toast. I went with an order of mini pancakes and my breakfast was incredibly delicious. The service here is also great; but there was a large crowd of teenagers that spoiled the vibes for me. They were here being rowdy and I'm just not into that. I'd call this a family style diner ambience that attracts teens and parents with young children. The food here is excellent however I was in sticker shock because my bill turned out to be $27 including tip for one strawberry drink and one skillet served on a plate. I prefer for the traditional presentation where skillets come out in a sizzling pan. It's just more fun served that way.Honestly this non fussy diner charges more than the diners in the Gold Coast and in Lakeview so that really threw me off. In summary good food, slightly over priced on certain items and restaurant could use a makeover.

Hidden gem. Delicious food. Unique dishes like pacaya. As well as some classic standbys. Friendly service. Cozy atmosphere. Feels like this place is a food network celebrity visitor away from being the place to be. Been here a few times now and we intend to be regulars.

The food is delicious and creative at the chef's counter at Cariño. The huitlacoche ravioli with truffles and fried corn silk is not only my favorite dish of the night, but one of my favorite dishes ever. That's saying something.

My wife got the pica kos bowl and it hit the spot!We both had sangria which completed the vibe. The maduros and tostones were perfectly made.Highly recommend!!"
"my friend invite me to this place antojitos from GuatemalaReally goodI try the garnachaspupusa whit curtido , corn tamales and coffee really goodthey also have mexican dishes on the menuI be back soon again"
"The best! Juices are amazing; cecina taco on handmade tortilla! Get it! Soups are great too."
"The café de olla here is my favorite. Today however I got the classic cheeseburger. I loved the fries. The service was fast. We arrived around 2 pm and got seated promptly. The music they were playing made the ambiance feel authentic."
"The best restaurant I have been to in a long time. Although in a strip mall, once you step inside you are impressed with the clean and snazzy decor. Staff was incredibly friendly. Our waitress was prompt and well versed in the menu. Answered all our questions with great suggestions. We ordered appetizers, soup/salad course and dinner. Everything we had was perfectly flavored. The blend of Mediterranean/Latin and Asian elements were paired in smart ways. We started with the Bao Buns/Bites. Great flavored pork paired with the fluffy Asian Bun/Taco. I followed that up with a salad--crisp and fresh.I got the Phoenix Flame Sandwich as my main course. It was a delight. Short rib was tender and flavorfull. The slaw had a slight edge and crisp to the dish. Fries were some of the best. My buddies who accompanied me were equally impressed by the Steak Sandwich and the Argentian steak. They know how to properly cook meat here. Properly seasoned too.On top of the gourmet quality of our food, prices were extremely reasonable. While eating the Chef/Owner checked in on us. Very friendly and humble. But he and his wife should be proud for creating a great and unique restaurant.I can't wait to return and want to bring the whole family for the experience.Highly recommend."
"Nice and cute in a strip mall close to the cutting theatre in palatine. My friend and I stopped for a quick bite before a comedy show and enjoyed the food but the service slow as hell and we ended up missing 15 mins of the show. The sauce on calamari was very flavorful and delicious with hints of saffron., mussels were very sandy, not fun!The wines were pretty good and well paired with our seafood. I may come back if ever in the area."
"We came in on a Sunday morning and were able to be seated immediately in their outdoor patio. The brunch menu has a good variety of options ranging from American standards (pancakes, French toast, eggs with sausage) to more Latin items like tortas, chilaquiles, etc. we opted for the latter; the coffee came out quickly, but the food took some time given it was breakfast food. It arrived at our table lukewarm at best, but the overall flavors were good and the portion sizes were generous. Overall I'd say it was a good experience!"
"Such a cute and tasty gem on Milwaukee!I went here for brunch over the weekend and it was outstanding. I ordered La Celia, which is a plate of perfect homemade salsa with crispy tortillas filled with beans, eggs on top, sweet plantains, and a little bit of crema. Seriously it was perfection. Their coffee was great too and it was a rainy morning, no wait at all to get in. The staff were incredibly friendly and fast. The art on the walls and the overall environment was very beautiful but still laid back. I will be returning for other meals and bringing more folks with me! This is an incredible spot and I cannot wait to try more of their menu."
"I feel very lucky to have a good Colombian spot in my neighborhood. The empanadas are delicious - I've had the carne and camaron and loved both. The spot is cute inside too. Their jugo de mango is also perfect.I've tried their arepas too - the others are more standout to me, but definitely a yummy place I've been to a few times and will go back to again."
"Yummy elote but pricey. They were nice and understanding that we were in a hurry trying to catch a sight seeing river cruise."
"Been here several times. On this occasion came for Taco Tuesday specials. On Tuesdays they have $3 tacos (for the most part). Between us girls we ate about 4 tacos each. Unanimously agreed that Shrimp Taco with Strawberry Pico was thee favorite. We also enjoyed the Skirt Steak and the Fish Taco. Our night was very pleasant with Juan guiding us through the menu. Juan also was very good about telling us his favorite entrees. Three Yelp Elite ladies left very happy on Taco Tuesday. So nice to bond over food and hang with these girlfriends. Drinks: Passion Fruit Margarita with sugar room was my favorite. Gabby loved Lychee Margarita."
"This is an awesome cafe. The vibe is awesome, the staff are friendly, and it's always busy with customers because it's so good. I went on a saturday morning with my sister for some coffee and brunch. They happened to be doing a "pictures with santa" event when we got there which was a funny surprise. We ordered the chorizo avocado toast with egg, which was delicious. They didn't hold back on anything, and there was plenty of chorizo and avocado. We also split the beignets, which came with twelve delicious bite size beignets, enough to take some home. I also tried the lavender coconut latte, which was super delicious with a very natural flavor. Clearly, this place puts a lot of effort into making top quality food and drinks. They are passionate about giving the customers a great culinary experience, in a very chill setting for excellent prices. I would totally come back!"
"Morton Grove's best kept secret! This place is in an unassuming strip mall location just north of the Red Roof Inn. It has 1-2 tiny tables outside for dining al fresco and 2-3 tables inside with a handful of bar seats. Menu prices are at a premium for this Latin American-Mediterranean fusion. Think jibarito, tacos, and shawarma options. I myself tried the $15 steak jibarito, and the fried plantains were perfectly crisp and salty, steak juicy, and rounded out very nicely with the sauce, lettuce, and tomato. I can't wait to eat this again! If you are what you eat, my husband is on his way to evolving into a Philly cheesesteak bc he's eaten this for a meal weekly for what seems like the last couple months. Cultura's version is a hefty $20, but the serving is monstrous and would easily be 2 sittings for many people. My minis both had a cheeseburger ($9), which was juicy and delicious. I almost forgot to add that the yuca fries are strongly recommended! Generous serving for $5, well salted, and plentiful. All the food is prepared within eye shot behind the counter, and you can taste the freshness. #pipinghotWith a Yelp check in, you get a $5 valued box of baklava, which is nutty, sweet, crispy, and delicate. I'm not usually a fan of this dessert, but I enjoyed the offering here. See you soon, Cultura!"
"I tried coming here a few years back. But they had closed the store early, way before advertised business hours. Slow light would be my guess. So after a few years, I finally decided to stop in and give them a try. There's not really much taquerias in this area, so because of the lack of competition, a restaurant can choose to lower their standards or make sure they excel at what they do. La Largatija didn't disappoint. I ordered their carne Asada taco, al pastor and Volcan tostada. The Volcan tostada was definitely something different that I've never tried before. They serve it on a homemade tostada and top it off with melted cheese. Never thought I'd tried that combo before but it was sure delicious. Both the carne Asada and al pastor taco were also tasty. The al pastor was cooked perfectly and the marinade was very flavorful. It was al served with a slice of pineapple. The carne Asada was seasoned perfectly and the meat was very tender. I'll keep this on my list for sure."
"I haven't ate at a Central American restaurant in so long, I'm glad this was a recommendation I followed through on! I indulged when I went:Had the Atole de Elote, while I'm use to an atole being a bit more thick, this consistency was thin but PERFECT in flavor! It was almost like a nicer creamy drink! I then had to follow this with the Tamales de Elote, my goodness were they great! They felt a bit more soft than I'm use to, but it brought out this creamy texture that I really enjoyed. The crema on top was the perfect paring.I then was a bit too full for the popusas, but I still ate. I thought they were good but a bit thicker than I'm use to (don't mean to compare my moms cooking but that's my only point of reference hehe). Pupusas de Loroco y Queso, Chicharrón, y la mexicana were good but I felt they needed a bit more flavor. Can't go wait to go back and try the ox tail dish, my sister recommended it to me!We took a huge group and they were great!"
"We tried this place based on Yelp reviews, and I was a bit disappointed. Located in a strip mall and there was ample parking. You order at the counter and service was ok, not over friendly. Your food is brought to your table, but we had to get napkins and utensils. My husband tried the carne asada street tacos and I had a al pastor bowl. The portions were fine. I would have liked chips and salsa to be included One small container of salsa is included, but a second comes with a charge. Food was pricey considering what you received."
"My love and I dined at Flo yesterday. Although Flo seems to be known as more of a brunch place, we experienced a wonderful dinner. We were seated immediately when we entered early on a Saturday evening, and the restaurant was chill and not too crowded until near the conclusion of our meal when a party of 16 adults and young kids wandered in. Service was pleasant and unobtrusive. There was minimal waiting for anything at all.Flo touts its traditional southwestern / New Mexico cuisine. Having never been to New Mexico, I was excited to try the carne adovada. It's called a New Mexico specialty, and after savoring the whole dish I can tell you it's a deserved title. The tender little chunks of braised pork loin are bathed in a deep red chile sauce that is flavorful and zingy without being overly spicy. The crispy little hemispheres of red potatoes, thin wedges of avocado and tortillas were perfect accompaniments to the saucy pork. My love enjoyed her grilled salmon, with heirloom potatoes, shiitake mushrooms, and crispy brussels sprouts, as well as her hibiscus margarita. The portion sizes were also right on the money. After enjoying the delicious and reasonably priced food at Flo, we vowed to come again when in the area."
"Nice business... Affordable, delicious food!Husband got the steak sandwich... Really good! I got a half pound of the pork that was tasty... Some pieces a bit dry but overall a steal! We also got casava... I could have ate those all night .We will be back for sure!"
"Our dinner at Peru Criollo was a lovely Valentine's Day treat! The dining area is spacious with bright gorgeous murals contrasting the moody black walls & ceiling. There's an elevated feel with faux candles and black table clothes (played down with a paper cover). There's also bar seating near the back; it's a great mix of elevated and casual. Their menu is easy to navigate and we quickly knew what we wanted for our main entrees: charrasco steak (special) and a classic lomo saltado with steak. For apps, we ordered chilled cooked mussels on the 1/2 shell and Peruvian Street Corn. It was fun to try something new for apps, but it was really our mains that wow'ed us. My husband loved his steak and I was delighted by the flavors of my lomo saltado (a brilliant Asian and Peruvian fused dish that always satisfies). Although this spot is a bit of a trek for us, we'd love to come back with friends to try more dishes. The service was personal and warm -- thank you Alejandra. We felt right at home!"
"Massive burritos that rival El Famous'. I ordered the chicken burrito and it was the size of a mini football. The beast is hungry, and it fully made its way into my belly. Service was good, and the lunch time experience was good as well. The dining area is somewhat small, but when we went there, there were plenty of seats before the lunch rush"
"03/19/24 - My buddy brought me here for breakfast this morning. Nice restaurant directly across the street from Cafe Istanbul on Division. When we went in we were greeted & seated. The server/owner suggested the chilaquiles which were very good. I wouldn't mind going back and tryi some of the other items on their menu"
"My friend and I came in 5 minutes before closing and they didn't kick us out. So already I was hopeful. The menu was easy to read with the names in Spanish and then description in English. They had so many yummy options. It was really good food! Also be aware that the portion sizes are big. You get a lot for what pay and you can get one entree and split it. Service was good too even though they were getting ready to close. The waitress still filled our water and checked in with us. It's worth a trip!"
"Vegan options would be GREAT!I live near this place and I'm so happy to see it up and running. I have consistently gotten very tasty coffee drinks from here, and it is evident the employees care about the quality of their offerings and customer experience. I really want to try to the food here, but I eat vegan and unfortunately they have very little to offer in terms of vegan meals. There is a large community of vegans/vegetarians in the area, so I would encourage them to build out 1-3 vegan options as I think it would make it a more enticing option for groups of friends where there may be mixed dietary restrictions."
