Bar Sol

Located on the Navy Pier, Bar Sol is a vibrant Latin-inspired cuisine with amazing views of Lake Michigan. During my brief visit to Chicago, I seized the opportunity to grab a snack at this newest addition to the pier's culinary scene, and I was not disappointed.The spot had great beats of lively music and indoors or outdoors seating. I sat at the bar. Service was fast and friendly. The tuna tostadas caught my eye so that's what I chose. The tostadas had very generous portions of fresh tuna, crunch of the tostadas, a great blend of sauces and a kick of spice which I needed. So glad I stumbled upon this new spot!

Ambiance was fun and festive. Our server was super slow, not familiar with the menu and never checked back. We kinda had to hunt her down a few times when we wanted something. The food was ok. Nothing special.

Great spot for dinner before a show or if you made your way to the pier for summertime fireworks. Great, friendly service, nice waterfront view, chill place to grab a drink at the bar. Solid food choices at Navy Pier prices and a surprisingly interesting cocktail menu. I stayed for three different cocktails and they were all fantastic.

Food was good, service was good, until I went into the ladies restroom, saw a hook in the restroom that had just come out of the kitchen, after using the restroom she rinsed her fingertips with no soap, and did not even dry her fingers. It really disturbed me knowing that she was preparing my food on a check that was over $200. I tried to speak to the manager, and she was very uninterested in hearing my story, and was not disturbed by her employees lack of hygiene

Ate here today and unfortunately I couldn't eat my food. Ordered the bbq wings and fries and they were BLAND. Ate two and gave up. Wasted $20. Got a Diet Coke and it was thick and flat. Sent it back and they allowed me to replace it with a regular coke. The coke was priced at $6.24. Come on guys. Needless to say if I ever came back it would only be for a drink(alcoholic beverage) as they have a pretty lengthy drink menu. Positive note is that the waiter was nice.

I hate to say the "vibes were off", but the whole bar seemed...off. Decor and the music didn't match at all. Staff were friendly enough, but had pretty loud personal conversations near us (the only patrons in the place). Was fine for a resting stop while walking along Navy Pier, but I wouldn't go out of my way to make a stop.

We dodged in here when it started to rain after a fun day exploring Chicago, and grabbed a spot at the bar. Tim, our excellent bartender was quick, efficient, attentive and kind. My friend ordered the pink flamingo and loved it. For food, I got the tuna ceviche tostadas. I was absolutely blown away by the flavor, texture and presentation. The serving size was much bigger than I anticipated so that was an awesome surprise, especially for the very reasonable $22!Overall this was a comfortable and welcoming place that I'm glad we stumbled in to and I 10/10 would stumble in again.

The staff was friendly and the location is great. You get a nice view of the city sitting outside. The food, however, is underwhelming. Overpriced for the quality. The fries were salty and the pea mash that came with the fish & chips wasn't good. They also charged $6 for a cranberry juice.

Had to come here because the rooftop restaurant was being douchey. Not disappointed! The food was great! Huge portions! The drinks are awesome as well. Our server was very nice and accommodating. Fun spot. Folks were enjoying themselves in the bar area. If you're at navy pier, I suggest you stop in for some a drinks and a bite.

Outstanding all the way. Great fish paella. Fernando delivered excellent service. Ambiance around the bar was lively and fun.
