La Perla

A Latin-inspired restaurant located in the heart of Lakeview. The food is fantastic -- the champagne scallops were a standout with perfectly crispy scallops paired with creamy risotto, and the seafood platter offered a delicious mix of squid, octopus, and shrimp; the Churrasco was also tasty with well flavored steak paired with chimichurri. The service and hospitality were warm and welcoming. Definitely a place we'll revisit.

I want to start by saying that this restaurant is very pretty on the inside! Enough tables to serve at least 40 people I would say and a nice well stocked bar. Unfortunately they have much to improve upon to get to a better restaurant experience. We ordered appetizers and drinks after begin in the area last weekend. My drink was the spiked Thai tea which was so yummy! But my friends ordered martinis and margaritas and did not enjoy them at all. The appetizers were also not tasty. We all like to explore new and staple restaurants in the city but this food was absolutely sub par. The wings were actually drumsticks? And the sauce was too sweet and texture was off. The calamari wasn't seasoned. Lastly, we didn't receive our drinks after ordering for almost a full hour... the restaurant was not full and they seemed fully staffed. We didn't receive our appetizers for a full hour after our drinks and it came out one at a time over a 30 minute time span... we spoke with everyone on staff and they apologized profusely but nothing changed and we were not accommodated for our time waiting. For a new restaurant, I understand how hard it can be to run the place but customers should be accommodated for poor service and food. We left after 3 hours and were hoping for only 1.5 hours max...

I went with my family here and we had a blast! The ambiance was amazing. It is beautifully decorated inside and cute for pictures. The chef really went above & beyond! The food was so flavorful and filling. It was not too pricey either. The vodka pasta was a must! If you are ever near Clark street and are craving some good food, this would be the spot! I will definitely be coming back!

Stopped here before going to the Vic theatre tonight. The only waitress that was working was so super friendly and the dining area was very nice. This place definitely has potential but could work on a few things. We got our apps at the same time or after or main meal. The fried calamari didn't have much flavor so wouldn't order that again but the shrimp ceviche was amazing but only ate a tiny bit because I was already full from my sandwich. My son got the salmon sandwich and really enjoyed it. I got the steak sandwich medium well without onions. Unfortunately it was a little overcooked and had onions on it but it was still delicious! I think with a few more staff working and a little more experience this place has great potential. If I'm in the area again I'd definitely go back and try again.

Ahh! This used to be Cesar's, remember that? This is the same size as Cesar's but a whole new look. They have drag shows every weekend. The staff and service is fantastic.

The service here was absolutely awful. Waited an hour for drinks any time we ordered it. We didn't get our entrees until 2.5 hours after we sat down. When we got our food, they got two of the dishes wrong entirely. I ordered the steak medium rare and it came out more than well done. When I spoke to someone about how bad our experience had been, the owner came over and tried to guilt us into not taking the discount they were offering as an apology.

Just check out yesterday! Love what they did to the place. The Chef was wonderful and they even had entertainment and played some great songs.We went for happy hour and left happy completely. Prices are reasonable and staff is very friendly, especially the manager "Liz". Ordered steak tacos and my sis ordered a steak sandwich which she loved!!!Definitely go and check it out.

My family was looking for a new restaurant to try and just happened to stumble upon La Perla. It was great! The presentations were beautiful, the food was very fresh and the taste was exceptional. We told our waiter how much we were loving our experience and the chef, Edwin, came to our table to talk with us. Edwin told us of his background, how he learned to be a chef and that he even helped with the construction. We plan on returning soon.

Food was absolutely fantastic! I had the incredible opportunity to meet the head chef and everything he cooked was incredible. Personally, I had the mussels and oysters and they were breathtaking. Anyone who doesn't come here is definitely missing out!

La Perla is a hidden gem! The upscale ambiance perfectly complements the exceptional Argentine seafood cuisine. Every dish is a delightful blend of fresh flavors and creative presentation. The ceviche was the best I've ever had, bursting with citrus and perfectly balanced spices. The service was top-notch, with knowledgeable staff who made excellent wine pairings. The attention to detail in both the food and the atmosphere made our dining experience truly memorable. If you're looking for a unique and elevated seafood experience, La Perla is the place to go. We'll definitely be back!
