"Overall Thoughts: The food here is tasty with very reasonable prices for the portion sizes. Everything was flavorful, and came out quickly-- my favorite order was the fatty beef black pepper noodles; it's pretty oily but the flavors and textures are impeccable. It's a small space and seating is limited (just a few hightop tables and bar counter seating). I need to go to their Bridgeport location next, which has a more expansive menu (including hotpot) and seating area! Food I tried:- Fried Egg Tofu Bento (4.4/5): The Japanese egg tofu is great here: crispy and well-seasoned exterior with a soft, scalding interior. The other sides were solid too-- it's an overall well-balanced, filling meal option. - Fatty Beef Black Pepper Noodles (4.7/5): I especially enjoyed this dish: the beef and noodles were packed with flavor (the black pepper flavor is very distinct) and the soft textures paired perfectly together. - Popcorn Chicken (4.2/5): A Taiwanese classic; this was good with a crispy exterior and juicy interior-- no "wow" factor but very solid! It didn't come with any sauce, but dipping it in the egg tofu bento chili sauce was pretty good.- Matcha Belgian Waffle (4.2/5): This is a huge, filling dessert that tasted good but quickly became a bit monotonous/tedious to consume (especially since we were already so full by then). The waffle is soft, warm, dusted with detectable matcha powder, and topped with matcha Pocky sticks and vanilla ice cream. -- Price (relative to peers): 4.5/5Food: 4.4/5Ambience: 4.7/5Service: 4.8/5Overall Value: 4.5/5"
"I chose this place because it was very close to my spa appointment and I have some time to spare before my spa day. Right when I walked in, you could smell the amazing aromas of the coffee and espresso in here. I ordered a flavored latte and an amazing pastry that I still dream about to this day. The coffee was delicious and the cinnamon sugar croissant was delectable. Great coffee spot!"

"We had dinner here with another couple last Saturday night who had recently had a great experience eating here. Greek food can be hit or miss for me, but when it's a hit I'm a really big fan so was excited to try it.The restaurant itself was quite busy for a Sat evening and we were seated upstairs. The tables are pretty close together and I had to keep moving my chair so that the waitress could get to the table next to us.To start we ordered some drinks (tequila, soda, lime my drink of choice) and a few apps:- Dips with crudite- octopus appetizerThe dips came sans crudite at first, but i couldn't resist so had a few pieces of pita. My favorite was probably the smoke feta dip, but can never go wrong with Tzatziki. As for the octopus I enjoyed my bite so much that I decided to order as my main entree...with a side of broccoli. My husband got the octopus entree for his, which was stuffed with greek cheese and other goodness. It turned out to be a delicious meal and one of the better greek restaurants I've tried on the North Shore."
"Tary Coffee House, a recent addition to Chicago's vibrant downtown scene, offers a unique culinary adventure into the heart of Kazakhstan. Stepping inside, the unfamiliar becomes inviting, with a menu boasting an array of coffee, tea, pastries, and hearty meals, all featuring the millet grain known as "tary." Prized for its nutritional value in Kazakh culture, tary boasts a subtle earthiness that adds a distinctive touch to their menu.Baursaq with Irimsik ($13) - My exploration began with the Baursaq with Irimsik, a delightful play on textures. These pillowy-soft dough pockets, reminiscent of Japanese mochi, cradled a mild cottage cheese filling. While the concept was intriguing, the filling lacked a flavor punch, leaving me wanting a bit more oomph.Tary Cappuccino ($7.25) - For a taste of their signature ingredient, I opted for the Tary Cappuccino. This rich and smooth coffee boasted a subtle earthiness and nuttiness imparted by the tary flour. The integration was pleasant, offering a unique twist on the classic beverage.Overall, Tary Coffee House is a commendable effort in introducing Chicago to the fascinating cuisine of Kazakhstan. While it may not be your everyday haunt, it's certainly worth a visit for the unique experience and a chance to explore new cultural flavors. Just be prepared for prices that lean towards the higher end."
"Cool vibe! Very well decorated! We had a party of 6, and our table was very small. Service was okay. It took awhile for drinks to come out. I had the king cake colada drink. This was good! I had the banana foster martini for desert and this was wonderful! For dinner we started with the cod nuggets and I would get these again and again! These were perfection and had a spicy mayo dipping sauce! For my main I had the jambalaya with shrimp. This was fine. It had a strong Cajun flavor and the whole dish just tasted like that. My favorite part was heading downstairs to the speakeasy. A wonderful vibe with the same drinks as upstairs! I would get rid of the tarot card reader, it was 20 seconds and more funny than helpful!"
"This has been on my list for awhile and one day I decided to try. It's located in a strip mall with lots of parking. When you go inside, they have a sufficient amount of tables to sit at, but it wasn't very busy on a Saturday night. You order at the register and he brings it out to you. You'll have to be patient, they don't have a lot of staff. We ordered tako karaage (fried octopus), croquettes, Taiwan style tonkotsu ramen with 2 pieces of chashu, and the deluxe bento with butashoga (ginger pork). I had a bite of the pork and it was delicious. Ginger was not overpowering. Tender meat. Prices were very affordable and cheap. Service was great and he brought out our food hot and freshly made. I would definitely come back and try other items. -tako karaage 5 - it had a nice little chew and was not overly fried. Great taste.-croquettes 5 - I loved these. When you bite into them, they're soft. Flavorful, savory filling inside. I should have gotten more of these.-Taiwan style tonkotsu ramen 5 - noodles were chewy. Bountiful amount of ground pork. The two chashu pieces were tender and easy to break apart. Broth was not heavy, it was just right."
"Wow, this some amazing chocolate. I stopped in on a chance earlier this week and was hooked after one sample! I used to work in Japan and considered myself well versed on the wonders of their cuisine, but somehow I missed this phenomenon. I understand it is made with some incredible milk from magical cows on the island of Hokkaido (sp?). This is so creamy smooth, it's in a class of its own I bought a box as a hostess gift for an event last night and there was not a piece left. Check it out and PS, it's not crazy expensive either."
"Came across this place in Bartlett when visiting the coffee house next to it. It was an unexpectedly good surprise. Le P'Tit Resto sounds like it has lots of French stuff, but it's more than that though. Actually because it's not French at all. This turned out to be a Spanish tapas bar and restaurant. A fancy sounding place to be sure, but it turned out it really wasn't that bad. Instead of sitting in the coffee house, we came here and sat at the bar for some drinks and tapas. Things were a pretty good value. It's about $6 for a pint of one of the interesting sounding beers. They had one from Vera Brewery called Pistachio Cream Ale, and this tasted like it. As for the tapas, we got the cheapest we could. It's about $9 for the White Bean Hummus. This was cannellini beans and extra virgin olive oil, topped with giardiniera and served with naan pieces. For sure I could go here again. It's pretty affordable for a tapas bar, to be honest. This is a great option if not feeling hungry enough for big meals, and need something a lot simpler."
"This is my go to for quesitos. They got the long kind the short kind and the kind with guava. They also have cubanos and other sandwiches and coffee. They have a selection of different pastries. It's a small mom and pop but it's super good."
"Lahore.. you don't go here for the ambience or a bourgeois night out. This place is legit just to relax and chill with your loved ones for a good time. We drive an hour just to go to Lahore. It is a bit dark and gloomy in the cafe to be honest.. but upon sitting down we have a garnishment of sorts with onions, lettuce, cucumbers and a yogurt chutney. They are known for their Lahore Chargha(half or full chicken in mouth watering flavors, spices, and juices)!! Y'all .. let me tell you!! It is fire!! You should order it at least 30 mins in advance. There is literally nothing better thn that chargha! The family usually gets the chargha, keema fry (fried minced meat), Lahore dal (lentiles), naan, and tawa rice (fire azzzz chicken rice)The staff is friendly, the food is priced reasonably, and you cannot get this flavor of spices anywhere else! Anyone with a flavorful palette will appreciate this joint!"

Authentic Taiwanese food. Very fast and good service. I would highly recommend anything fried here. Especially the popcorn chicken. It was so good that I forgot to take a picture of it. The bento box is just like the ones I've had back in Taiwan. Happy that this restaurant is in Chicago. The beef noodle soup lacked a certain flavor but overall still good.

A cafe and roaster that serves various kinds of beautiful and delicious pastries and simple and fresh breakfast sandwiches and salads. One shiny La Marzocco machine, two professional roaster machines, and bags of beans sourced from different countries / areas for purchase. I particularly like their simple yet focused coffee and tea menu. The cafe was so busy and packed around 10am this Sunday! The host was very friendly and helpful though which made you feel better after a long wait in line. Since he was the single person who takes orders and takes care of grabbing pastries from the case, he was very busy. You basically would not wait too long after that pay step. Pastries get sold out fast and they will refill as they make at the back. Latte was smooth and rich - nothing super special but we really had nothing to complain about. The espresso tonic with Ethiopian espresso was very refreshing and tasted strong. Hubby thought his ham sandwich was not big for the price that we paid for but tasted good. My pistachio cheesecake and hummus with toasted bread were really delicious and I highly recommend them.I also used the spring blend beans for espresso at home. The quality was high and I was pleased with the fruity notes, medium body and strong wine-like aroma that I got.

I love that this Xi'an location exists in the West Loop! My husband and I stopped here after running errands at H-Mart, which is right across the highway bridge (a brisk 5 min walk). We've been to the locations in both Chinatown and Naperville before, so it was awesome that we serendipitously wound up here, and got to try their food in the West Loop.Between the two of us we got:2 bowls of Biang Biang noodlesFried Garlic Ribs (appetizer)Vinegar and Sesame Sauce Noodles (appetizer)The ribs came up piping hot and freshly fried; they were well-seasoned and so good! My husband is always a fan of cold noodles ("vinegar and sesame sauce" noodles on their menu). The food came out quickly and was made to order. The noodles (both the thin ones in the cold noodles and the thick hand-pulled ones in the Biang Biang noodles) and literally stretched so long in one continuous line that it will be hard to find where it starts and ends. Good luck and long life from eating these noodles dishes indeed :)You can't go wrong with the Biang Biang noodles here, which I'd call one of their specialties. We came for dinner on a weekend and our server was attentive and kind. They have plenty of seating including tables by the window and rows of booths towards the back of the restaurant. They have extensive milk tea and fruit tea options as well. They have lots of things on their menu, which we scanned using a QR code. Their sections were "American Chinese," "Szechuan," "Xi'an," and "Drinks & Dessert." They even have budget friendly all-day dinner specials that start at about $14 for an entrée, vegetable fried rice, and an egg roll; what a deal! We will be back whenever we're in the area.

My friend and I wanted some coffee after brunch this past Saturday afternoon, and TARY Coffee was a couple blocks away. The interior was pretty minimalistic with good natural lighting. They have other food and desserts here, not just drinks. Overall, it's pretty pricy here.LATTE IRIMSHIK - 8.15Latte irimshik is a normal latte mixed with irimshik, which I learned is a lightly sweet dried cottage cheese, a Kazakh food. I enjoyed the slightly cheesy flavor and I was given a sauce cup container full of it to mix into my latte. I wish I put all of it into my latte in the beginning. Each latte also comes with a rolled up waffle/crepe pastry that you can dip into your drink. Overall, this was a unique drink that was done pretty well. Just $$$.

Cool speakeasy spot in the basement of the restaurant. It's fairly small and can be very tight. Did like the variety of drinks but can take some time to actually order and get them. Was waiting for a while to get a waiter to come get our drink order so went up to the bar but was told that I have to wait for the waiter to come to our table which was a little disappointing.

This is one of those spots where it's consistently consistent. I have never had a bad meal here and they're consistently serving the same quality food and flavors. I really enjoyed their potato croquettes and usually have this to start or an order of their gyoza. My go to dish here is their katsu curry. It's such a feel good comfort food dish with abundant curry sauce and lots of pork Katsu. I usually order a regular (not a large) and even that's a generous serving. They also have gyudon which isn't something a lot of places offer as well as udon and ramen. They post their specials on their social media and have purposely don't detours to have the daily special. Give this spot a try. It doesn't look like much on the outside but they have some of the best Japanese food in town.
Visit Restaurant Page"My friend and I were very confused by this place as the menu did not reflect what we were seeing on Yelp or on their social media. We ended up with much smaller donuts than we thought we would get. Don't get me wrong, they were still very much delicious! It was just very confusing as it wasn't what we were expecting. Do they change out their menu items? If so, how often? I really wanted a donut ice cream sandwich, but that wasn't even on the menu anywhere. It was still a very good donut place and they have a nice outdoor seating area that's enclosed with heat lamps, so you can come here even during the colder months. Not much decor, but still some cute signage. Be aware their tables are extremely off balance since it is on a hill. They should put something under the legs to make them even because I was nervous amount my food sliding off if I wasn't paying attention. The woman at the window that helped us was more on the rude side. She visibly looked annoyed as it she was upset we were making her do her job. My friend and I split 6 Bombolinis and got 2 dipping sauces: chocolate hazelnut and salted caramel. The donuts themselves were pretty good! I don't think I would make a special trip out here just for them though. Both sauces were very good, but the salted caramel was to die for! Definitely my favorite of the two we tried. I would give this place 4 stars, but the false advertising and confusion is making me give it 3 stars instead. I was really looking forward to certain things and there's no explanation at all."
"My favorite cake is tres leches and it's the moistness and sweetness that makes it a winner for me. I've had this cake at a number of places (Whole Foods makes a really good one BTW). But I was really impressed with Markellos selection, I chose the one with a chocolate topping!! It was darn good - yes indeed!!They've also got a wide offering of other favorites - cheese pastries (twice as big as Porto's in LA), churros, Bundt cakes and other Mexican pastries. The parking is a bit tight but the service is very friendly and attentive. I'll be back because this place is muy bien mi Yelpito amigos!!"
"Great place in Schaumburg. I was impressed with the setting and ambience. The appetizers were delicious, wood fire pizza spot on , chewy tender texture with the perfect wood fired crust all around.Drinks: enjoyed a limoncelllo martini. They make their own house limoncello so this was a treat. Well made and flavorful .Their Paloma was deliciously executed: flavorful , boozey and garnished with a tajin rim. Outside setting was lovely on a perfect night. Will come again when I'm back in Schaumburg. Service was attentive friendly and fun."
"This place is a small Iraqi run strip mall restaurant. It's hard to differentiate amongst the various Middle East ethnic groups, but it's nice to know anyway. I tried a carryout of their lunch special, which on Tue-Thu from noon-3pm, means their $16.49 lunch goes for $9.49. I have to go with a "Meh" 2.5 stars that rounds up to 3 stars given the discount. I had it mixed meat, meaning a mix of chicken and meat. The container had a lot of white rice covered by a thin layer of meats (container was about 60% full of rice). The rice was ok, and went well though with the meats which were salty. There's no pita bread and no sauces, and I'm not sure sauces like Tzatziki are an Iraqi tradition anyway. The modest lunch was barely ok for $9.49, and definitely not for $16.49. One and done for me, but best of luck in any event."
"Cute little bread cafe, but nothing out of this world! We stopped in panes for a snack between trains. My friend ordered a chicken sandwich and found it to be pretty flavorless- she had to add a ton of salt. I ordered a tea and they just handed me a basket of teabags to choose from- just your classic diner teas. My friend also had a coffee, they only offer drip. It was a really cute space and the server was so friendly! It's a good place to have a little toast or some tea, but definitely not super memorable."
"A hot Americano and a piece of breakfast pie is the best Saturday morning I can think of. Patio couldn't be cuter with a water feature and Parisian cafe music in the background. Cute inside but a little cramped. Be prepared to wait in line but it's totally that good. Definitely lives up to the old style pie shop claim. Lots of options to have fun with."
"This location is on a very busy street, but the store is very small, no seats so it's designed to order and go. Cookies are large, so prices are as high. Now let's talk cookies... my favorite was the rainbow sugar cookie! As the name of the location mentions, the cookies WILL crumble. The peanut butter cookie is very sweet, so have a cup of water ready on the side. The chocolate chip, you can't go wrong with that one. Each chocolate chip was massive, and bold in flavor. I think it's worth trying them while in Chicago, but I recommend sharing."
"This was an impulse stop while walking home and it was worth it. We chose a brown butter banana and a tiramisu cupcake. Both were delicious! We ate them over the course of three days, they never dried out and stayed perfectly moist (we did move them to the fridge after a day and kept them in an airtight container).Banana can get easily lost when you add other flavors in, but the luscious brown butter frosting complemented the just ripe banana flavor very nicely. The tiramisu was the right balance of cupcake to marscapone frosting. It's not an overly strong coffee flavor, and the cocoa dusting isn't too much (meaning you don't cough after a mouthful of powder).I also cannot stand those cupcake places out there with the mile-high frosting (like they're trying to hide their poor cake quality), that is definitely not the case here, the proportions are perfectly delicious. We will be back!"
"Between high Yelp ratings & being greeted by old world charm, we were excited to eat at Staropolska. We'd both recently had good pierogis at other restaurants & were hoping for much of the same; however, the food here did not live up to our expectations. He had the lamb which didn't seem to garner any praise. I ordered potato pancakes with both sour cream & applesauce & enjoyed that the pancakes were thin & had crispy fried edges. My combo of vegetarian pierogis (half potato & cheese, half sauerkraut & mushroom) were boiled; I'm partial to pan-fried pierogis but boiled would've been acceptable provided they were flavorful & fresh which unfortunately these weren't. I also wasn't a fan of their onion & bacon "jam" which is usually my favorite topping. We ended dinner with kolaczki, Polish cookies with jam dolloped in the middle; they were bland & not sufficiently sweetened. Quite a disappointing dinner, all around."
"Great coffee shop with desserts! Old world style with fabulous recipes and good service! While seating is limited, it is very quaint. Cheesecakes are European style which are less sweet and dense. Small bite cookies are delicious. Custards, crème brûlées choices are numerous and good!"
"I ordered two 1 pound shrimp combo bags. One bag had their "everythang" sauce with heat level 1. The other bag had Cajun with heat level 2. They honestly both tasted the same two me. Couldn't tell the difference. Most importantly, it was delicious. The heat level was just right as well as the sauce. The sauce also made the corn and the potatoes taste delicious. I hate peeling shrimp. Especially when all the sauce comes off the shrimp when you're done peeling it. So I peeled all my shrimp first, threw it back in the bag and shook it up to make sure all my shrimp was coated in the sauce before it went it my mouth. Absolutely delicious. I ordered online and this is the best service I have ever received with an online order. They text you, call you to confirm your order and call you when your order is complete. Will definitely be returning."
"We came here for a quick bite to eat and for some coffee. We decided to dine in. The owners and the staff here were great. They were very welcoming and made sure we were satisfied. They thanked us for stopping in and had smiles throughout our meal. They have a pretty big menu with plenty of coffee and breakfast & lunch offerings. My wife ordered their Dark Matter drip coffee and I ordered their iced coffee and their "The Brunch" breakfast sandwich. It came with lox in a toasted everything bagel with cream cheese, tomatoes, capers, cucumber salad and lemon vinegar. The sandwich was pretty big with everything ingredient working perfectly together. It came with plenty of lox and it tasted fresh. I would definitely order this again, but I would also like to try a few of their other offerings. I will definitely be returning."
"This place is a tiny basement location with dim lighting, with limited space. We had a reservation for the time we had and I guess we stayed too long? So they did have us leave at some point (although they did feel bad about sort of kicking us out). The food was solid and reasonably priced, and we tried a bunch of different plates. My favorite dish was the Spanish tortilla: it melted in my mouth. But!The drinks were AMAZING. I loved how weird and tasty and cocktails were. The fiesta one?? With corn flavor without being too corn? The mint lemon? These were great, and I loved them, and I ordered definitely several too many cocktails because of it."
"Came here after having lunch at nearby Bob's Pizza. They were low on cupcakes and only had 1 so I grabbed it for my husband. I also selected a cookie which was filled with chocolate and walnuts. Yum. My friend got the brownie and it was moist and delicious. The next day I had my cookie with a cup of coffee and it was very soft and delicious. I could taste the butter but in a good way. Prices here were reasonable. My husband enjoyed his chocolate cupcake but didn't think it was anything too special. They had a loaf bread that looked tasty. I would come back to this bakery if in the area. The coffee was priced reasonable and plenty of places to sit while eating your item. Try this black owned bakery, I don't think you will be disappointed."
"Food was decent, slightly overpriced, and the service was good. 2 chicken tacos, side of rice and a grapefruit soda. They provided chips and salsa during short wait for food. It is located in a strip mall on Pulaski near Belmont. I was the only one in the dining area, several people picked up their food to go. Bathroom was very clean. Lady at the counter said they have been open about 4 months.I'll probably go back and try their enchiladas dinner."
"Good , clean place Service is great Food is good too I usually get the beef shawarma wrap"
"We came for here for an early Sunday lunch. There was just one table being occupied when we arrived and another party arrived while we were waiting for our food. The staff was great, very friendly, and the food was delicious. I just hope it doesn't stay slow like this throughout the day. We ordered their Detroit style Pepperoni Pizza. A square cut pizza with eight slices. It's a very thick pizza. There's more dough and anything. A lot of cheese as well. I would have preferred more sauce and pepperoni and less cheese, but overall a very delicious and filling pizza. The crust was honestly the best part. I will definitely be returning to try a couple of their other options."
"This is one of those places that has been around for 25 years. I always said I would go, but alas, we moved out of state. When I knew we would visit Chicago again, I had an idea of where I wanted to go. Then they won a James Beard Award for Hospitality, and I figured I'd try to make a reservation.I tried online to make one, but it looked like a no-go. I thought, I'm just going to call in--this was worth it--and I got a reservation. They had some nice outdoor seating, and the inside was light and bright. There was a large bar, and I believe around the corner, there was more seating or a private dining room (a small wedding party came in while we were there). We came in and were seated promptly. From what I can ascertain, you need a reservation for dinner. Brunch, however, is first-come, first-served; they take no reservations for that.We sat in a little nook area and then started to look at the menus (both for food and a separate one for wine/cocktails/beer, etc.).I got a cocktail--unfortunately, I don't remember the name of it, but it hit the spot on that hot July day.We then got an appetizer of the Baked French Brie with Toasted Bread to slather it on. The Brie was sitting in the most beautiful green olive oil I have ever seen. It was tasty as well, perfect for sopping up with the toasted bread. The Brie was flavorful without being overly salty, as it sometimes can be. It also came with both green and black olives. This iconic dish has been on the menu for a while, and I completely understand why. It was delicious, and smearing that Brie on the toasted bread was divine. My husband ordered the Roast Chicken with Potato and Butter Greens, Panzanella, and Anchovy Aioli.I know you might be thinking, roast chicken? Yes, and it's another iconic dish that has been around for a long time. I get it--I tried a bit of it, and the chicken was succulent and the flavors were just right. The Brie and Roasted Chicken are Café Classics from when the restaurant opened in 1999.I got the Branzino with Grilled Cabbage, Summer Onions, Sungold Tomato, and Fennel Soubise.I really liked this dish. The fish was perfectly cooked and properly seasoned. I liked the idea of the grilled cabbage, though I wished it had more Sungold tomatoes, to be frank. We decided to share a dessert, which I highly recommend doing as well. We got the Pecorino Cake with Sour Cherry, Olive Oil Ice Cream, Sicilian Pistachio, and Candied Castelvetranos. I also got a dessert wine that perfectly paired with it, as suggested on the menu under the dessert description. This dessert was a complete surprise, also featuring shards of Parmesan. It hit the savory and sweet notes without being overwhelming--a lovely way to end the meal. The service was lovely and helpful. All the staff were on point, from when we checked in to when we ordered, with different people dropping off different dishes. I completely understand why they won that award. As an FYI, they automatically add a 20% gratuity to your bill. It's all online or on the menu, and they explain why.Parking can be a bit tricky as it's street-only and yes, you have to pay for street parking--ah, Chicago. All in all, it was very much worth the visit. If you are able, please go."
"Six stars. I said what I said. Trying to think of something not to like about Dear Margaret...and I cannot. Don't let the relaxed bistro vibe fool you. This is fine dining. Just sit back and order all three courses of a creative and taste bud-tastic meal. And then pay what is required. You will not be disappointed. The chef does the magic without being particularly beholden to any particular culinary tradition. But it all works, just the same. Even better, in fact, than if it was contorting itself in a performative bow towards anything in particular. It just is, and it is glorious. The wine list, the foods, the desserts, the cheeses, the service. All of it."
"Came back to Serai but got take out this time. We got the beef rendang, chicken panang curry, mee goreng, and pulut hitam. Everything was delicious! The panang curry was nuttier than I expected but still good. The beef rendang had a strong lime leaf flavor along with other spices which we enjoyed. Most pieces of beef were tender and soft but a little bit dry. These two dishes went great with white rice. The mee goreng was strong in flavor and almost a bit too salty. Noodles were nice and thick. The dessert was also delicious, black sticky rice with some savory coconut milk - a little salty and a little sweet!I do wish they had another staff as we saw our takeout order on the table but there was no one to ask for utensils, we had to wait a bit with no staff in sight."
"OMi is a cute Asian cafe that serves coffee, tea, smoothies, boba, kakigori, bowls, buns, toasts, and even dumplings. We came here as a group, and we were happy to see that there was a larger table in the cafe.We ordered:+OMi OMi Shibuya Honey Toast - a Japanese-style honey toast topped with vanilla ice cream, sliced strawberries, whipped cream, and powdered sugar with a side of honey+and OMi OMi Kakigori - milk-flavored shaved ice topped with cheesecake, sliced strawberries, and cream, served with a side of strawberry puree; the menu stated this would also include blueberries and mint, which were not included +a Fresh Milk Ube & Taro - prepared with ube and taro with organic milk; I requested this to be extra hot, which they delivered +UJI Matcha Latte - prepared with matcha, cream, and milk; opted for the iced version Everything was presented nicely, and I really enjoyed my drink, as it was just the right amount of sweetness and creaminess. They had certain items that are out, but doesn't state anywhere in the restaurant - we were curious about the Corn Latte, but this wasn't available. The cafe itself is super bright and the space was well-utilized where it didn't feel cramped at all. I loved their decor, such as their little tree in the corner and the little figurines and plushies.Staff were very friendly; tables could have been wiped down and attended to for the next party.Extremely limited street parking available in the area.+tasty drinks+unavailable and inaccurate menu items +friendly service +limited metered street parking available"
"Always a great experience at Nonnina. Right from the time you enter, the front manager Giovanni is always so friendly and welcoming. I tend to stop in impromptu during the week to enjoy the happy hour bites which go from 4p-6p weeknights. I'm so hooked on the grilled octopus and eggplant stack and truly appreciate Ubaldo's attentive bar service. The ambiance is charming in the main restaurant too - especially if you dine in the enclosed patio with the twinkle lights. During warmer months, el fresco is another great option being it's located in the River North Neighborhood. I happen to notice little details and love the beautiful Italian blue bread plates and side plates, I feel they elevate the experience. Kitchen staff does an amazing job to make unique dishes that are prepared quickly, even on a busy night. The staff hustles nonstop which can make you feel rushed but don't let that stop you from enjoying it at your own leisurely pace either. Yelp tip: Definitely do yourself a favor to ask for the fresh house made focaccia bread with EVOO & balsamic when you order your meal. They used to bring it to the table right away but now you will need to specifically ask for it. Makes sense though because you could easily fill up on it. Hello Carbs!!Portions sizes in general are adequate, and if I come with friends I prefer to share a few plates to get a nice variety of flavors. The tagliatelle pasta is made in house, and it's delicious so don't be bashful and the squid ink pasta is a wonderful choice too.Overall, Nonnina checks all the boxes! Just go:)"
"Major tourist trap, but walking by and my 14 yr old immediately got excited about the prospect of everything Nutella. I ordered a Mocha Nutella Iced Latte. Very bottom tier latte. I didn't even taste the Nutella unless I scraped the side of my cup and the coffee was mid. It was really just okay. I did try her waffle with Nutella whipped cream and liked the bites that I had. It was an improvement from my latte for sure. Unless you're a huge Nutella fan or just love the novelty of it, I'd personally skip."
