The customer service for the most part is good. Their Carne Asada is real good as is their other tacos but their best is their Carne Asada & yes their chicken tacos! They have one of the best TJ style chicken tacos I've ever had no lie. They use to have a little stand in National City on Granger Ave in front of their head quarters an old building that use to be a bar called Cozy Corner that my Mendez fam use to own. It's good to see the building is still up & being used for good, to serve tacos to SD. Was sad to see their stand go but happy to know they cater any event you need they even do funerals. So go ahead book them & hey maybe invite me, I'll even go to a funeral & bring holy water & a rosary & pray as long as I can take 6 tacos to go :)"

I contacted a few other taquizas before finding Big Boyz, without luck. Big Boyz responded almost immediately, included a PDF via email that has all info about their services and options, and confirmed they have insurance. I didn't need to ask a million questions, as they were all on the PDF form, but even w/my additional questions, they responded right away. The park required me to obtain a different certificate of proof of insurance than I provided, and Big Boyz obtained it right away from their insurance company, no questions asked! It was a bit last minute planning on my end and Big Boyz were so smooth to coordinate with, and eased my stress.Day of they arrived on time, set up on time, served all of my guests without any issues, tacos were great. I really couldn't have asked for more! Thank you!!"

As my wife and children walked from one PACKED restaurant to another (cuz everything down in this part of San Diego is PACKED), we walked by this unassuming coffee stand. Needing my caffeine fix, I headed over.Boy! I only had a cold brew, but man, was it delicious. Just a little Oat milk to kill what little acidity there was in the cold brew and I was in coffee heaven. The employee tending the "bar" wasn't in the mood for being chatty the morning I stopped in, but, we're all allowed to have a bad day. I know mine started off that way, but got instantly better once I had my coffee."

The lumpia by far the freshest and tastiest ones ever, the crunch the bite and the flavors are always spot on, get it as a combo plate with Pancit and rice, you're all set. I swung by the shop around noon on a weekday and there was almost no line. I ordered and received my order really quickly. I got the spun monkey, which is a blended mocha with a whole banana, and whipped cream on top. From the first sip I knew I would be thinking of this drink for a while. It completely blows Starbucks frapps out of the water! It's incredibly creamy and smooth, with no separation or ice chunks at ALL. I don't think they use ice. Possibly just frozen milk or frozen banana. It's thiccc but not too cold, so it doesn't hurt my teeth. The combination of the coffee, chocolate, and banana feels like a hug in liquid form. How can an ice drink feel so cozy?!I am absolutely flabbergasted by how tasty this drink is, and I will DEFINITELY be back to sample some of the other blended drinks on the menu!"

"I am a fan of nachos in general, and I am huge fan of the nacho combinations Gnarly Nacho's offer, including the ability to modify any of their signature offerings or being able to create your own.I choose the regular size classic with regular tortilla chips and added a few items such as bacon, cilantro, onions, grated Mexican cheese, and guacamole, in addition to the classic nacho sauce and sprinkling of Colby shredded cheese for $8. You can get a very large size for sharing for $12. As you can see, the nachos not only looked terrific but they also tasted fantastic. The combination of the tasty cheese sauce and the shredded cheese was a great idea. The bacon pieces were not your typical bacon bits, no these were actually cooked chopped bacon portions that tasted great. The guacamole was creamy and well seasoned, the cilantro and onions freshly chopped, and the grated Mexican cheese added a nice saltiness to the nachos. I did feel they went a little overboard on the sour cream. In hindsight, I would of like to have seen more shredded cheese than sour cream.Yes, they use ingredients that you can find at a typical grocery store, but it's all about the experience and having someone serving you up a tasty plate of nachos while you enjoy a cold beer at a local brewery."

Jack M. "I was fortunate enough to run into this true natured BBQ food vendor at the Burning Beard Brewery. The proprietor cooks all his meats the traditional way with hot flavored smoke. In fact, he smokes the meats inside modified re-engineered barrels that had been expertly designed for BBQ. I could not help myself and I ordered the smoked tri tip nachos that not only came with heavenly medium temped smoked tr tip, but with a house made baked bean made with beer. The tri tip was very well prepared and had a mild smoky flavor brought on by the quality avocado wood locally harvested and supplied by avocado growers. The meat was a perfectly smoked and was very tender and had the right moisture level. The smoked meat was topped with a drizzle of tasty BBQ sauce and laid over the the homemade baked beans and crispy tortilla chips. The beans were tender, well seasoned, and had a subtle flavor of a craft beer. Well done. The nachos came with a handsome amount of crispy tortilla chips, but one thing these nachos needed was perhaps a light garnish of chopped peppery scallions or a light sprinkle of finely shredded cheese, not just for color but for that little extra flavor profile. The gent running the smoked meat shop or real BBQ haven was a gent and quite informative regarding his trade."

The Pastrami Stand now rotates across different farmers markets and breweries in the local area. On Sundays, they have a canopy set up at the La Jolla Open Aire Farmer's Market. The menu featured two pastrami sandwiches, five types of hot dogs, two styles of pastrami sold by the pound, and matzo ball soup when in season between December and April. There was also a special of the day that was a Chicago style hot dog.The Pastrami Dip was made up of smoked pastrami, yellow mustard, and pickles on a roll that was single dipped in au jus. The Number 18 consisted of classic NY style pastrami piled high on rye bread and topped with deli mustard. Of these two sandwiches, I picked the former. The bread and meat quality were both very good, however the portion size of six inches(?) did not justify a $15 price tag hence a four star rating."

They work at a great pace to feed hungry customers but take their time enough to ensure their level of quality is met. When I found out about Brenda's tamales special, it was a must try location during my trip to SoCal. Stumbling upon her restaurant is equivalent to finding a needle in a haystack behind a hole in the wall. Long shot, but worth every bit of satisfactory feeling. This is exactly what her food will do for you.Her menu was about 15 items total. For a homecooked list of item served to the public, this was good enough to keep her specialty strong and fast moving enough to satisfy one's hunger. Of course I chose the Pork and Beef tamales to gauge the taste. The beef tamales was great. The style of prepping the beef was close to being barbacoa. The meat sliced away with the masa perfectly with a spoonful of balanced flavor proportion. The pork tamales caught me by surprised. The presentation is closer to Chicken Verde, and similar to the beef, it pulls away perfectly with the spoon. Neither too salty or bland, and melts away on your palates full of flavors. The preparation of the masa was the icing to this non-dessert dish. The corn mixed dough was perfectly mashed, leaving a smooth and soft texture to every bite. The masa alone was enough to satisfy my crave.I experienced the look on my friend's face as they take their bite of the Elote. The presentation alone gives a vibe of great taste, and the facial expression confirms the quality. Can't deny that I did not regret trying one.The level of service that Brenda offers with every plate is beyond exceptional. Her gestures are as warm as her meals. It is obvious to see that each dish is made with love which offers the comfort feeling of a homecooked meal. Definitely a spot to must try regardless of your timeframe availability!!"

Each came with a different items. For example, one came with chorizo and potatoes, the other with chicken tinga, and then lastly beef tinga served on a hand pressed and formed corn masa sope which is lightly fried. The sope sampler was $7.They were all terrific and I especially loved the way the masa underneath each sope was given special care. It was light and crisp on the outside with a soft gentle center. Even though they were delicate, the held up very well to the generous amount of ingredients on top of each. Both the beef and the chicken tingas were very well seasoned, flavorful, tender, and very juicy. I loved them. Each sope came topped with a little bit of shredded ice burg lettuce, a drizzle of crema, and a crumbling of queso fresco. The chorizo sope with made from beef and pork I believe. It was highly tasty with a little bite. It paired very well with the cool fresh queso fresco. The potatoes were tender and properly slice into bite size pieces. I tried all their house made hot sauces and they were bliss. They all had great flavor and the deep red one brought some burn! The back counter was where you placed an order for food.Eight different meat options were available including brisket that was only sold on weekends (Friday, Saturday, Sunday). Loaded fries and a loaded baked potato were choices as sides along with eight standard items like cole slaw, mac & cheese, collard greens, etc. Entrées were sold as a meat (1, 2, or 3) + a side (1 or 2). I stacked on the meats by picking the brisket, pork belly, and tri-tip with a side of Texas baked beans. The pork belly was the winner by far. There were four long strips that were glazed with honey. The cut was so moist and fatty. The brisket and tri-tip were placed together with the beans in a separate take-out container. I am glad they threw in a couple of cups of sweet barbecue sauce to use as a dip for the two meats. The quality of the food was solid, and the pleasantness of the cashier was even better. I was very satisfied with making a trip to visit this BBQ joint in Chula Vista."

I ordered two al pastor tacos and one carne asada with all the fixings. The two al pastor tacos, including the carne, came on great corn tortillas that were grilled up with a little oil, so they had that nice translucent moist texture and flavor. The al pastor pork meat was tender and had a great chili, herbs, spices, pineapple, and achiote flavor, but most importantly, the meat had that great char flavor that gave the al pastor that X-Factor. The guacamole salsa was creamy and cool with good flavor and some was the salsa they added underneath. These were some great al pastor tacos. The carne asada taco was good. The beef was tender, but needed to me seasoned a little more. It did have a good mesquite and char flavor which is important. The freshly made guacamole was nicely made and tasted good.
