We ordered double brisket, double fries with salt only ($26) and another mac & cheese with fries ($15). We can't take spicy seasoning on the fries, so I requested salt only and double-checked with the cashier before paying. It's a simple request that every restaurant accommodates, and Your Cashier Confirmed!!! The senior lady shouldn't yell at customers because your team accidentally added spicy seasoning and had to redo the fries. It's not the customer's fault if you have an internal miscommunication. We paid for food, not to be accused and hear your complaints. And how were we supposed to know you don't have salt since you're running a restaurant? After a 40-minute waiting under the sun, a "thank you for waiting" would have been appreciated. Instead, the senior lady made us listen to her endless lecture and complaints about us being difficult and disrespectful to the menu before handing over the food. I am your customer, not your employee. It's wrong to bully your customers by yelling at them in public! Besides that, as many other reviewers mentioned, the brisket had a chemical scent that resembled gasoline and grew stronger over time. The mac and cheese was very dry. We basically threw everything away since no one wanted to touch it again. Among all the brisket and mac & cheese we've tried in different places, this was really not a good one. The only star is to the cashier, who was at least warm and nice at the beginning.

Was looking forward to trying this at the PB Farmers Market today but was completely disappointed - underwhelming at best. My husband is a bbq addict and so I said wait til this afternoon and we can go try this place. The brisket is like it was made days ago and sliced up and warmed today for serving. So dry and the color is unbelievable like a weird gray and it was cut with the grain so it's incredibly tough. The macaroni and cheese was overcooked and very watery - odd. The beans not sure if these claim to be homemade but the sides were edible unlike the meat. The bbq sauce has a weird overpowering liquid smoke flavor. A bun on the side $1 and it's a generic hamburger bun which would be fine if the sauce was good. I'm sad. Sad that people think this is good bbq. Sad that this restaurant put out this quality of food. Sad that we spent $25 for this compared to other options there but we are watching money so hope that this can serve as valuable feedback to the business and also buyer beware to those debating trying this product.

I caught this place at a pop up station at a food festival across the street from the pier. They had a tent set up with the grill smoking behind it. This is a veteran owned and family run business. They had some excellent service. They were so helpful, friendly and courteous. The have all of your "Q" favorites. I ended up ordering the ribs and tri-tip, with a side of baked beans. It took them about 10 minutes to get my food ready. I took it over to the chairs across the street on the pier to eat. It was absolutely delicious. The tri-tip was amazing, and the ribs were huge and the meat feel right off of the bone. The beans were very tasty too. The group that I was eating with, that decided to get their lunch from another spot, were so jealous. I am glad that I was able to taste this restaurant's food and they brought their store to me. They have first class service, and quality food. I highly recommend checking them out where ever you can find them, be it at their actual restaurant or their mobile pop-up spot, like I was able to.

Oak and Anchor BBQ has now established a permanent spot inside the Chula Vista Brewery at The District in Eastlake after having a mobile presence on Third Avenue for quite a while. It's a long drive for me to get here, but I wanted to taste their barbecue offerings. The inside of the brewery was very spacious with picnic tables for seating. The back counter was where you placed an order for food.Eight different meat options were available including brisket that was only sold on weekends (Friday, Saturday, Sunday). Loaded fries and a loaded baked potato were choices as sides along with eight standard items like cole slaw, mac & cheese, collard greens, etc. Entrées were sold as a meat (1, 2, or 3) + a side (1 or 2). I stacked on the meats by picking the brisket, pork belly, and tri-tip with a side of Texas baked beans. The pork belly was the winner by far. There were four long strips that were glazed with honey. The cut was so moist and fatty. The brisket and tri-tip were placed together with the beans in a separate take-out container. I am glad they threw in a couple of cups of sweet barbecue sauce to use as a dip for the two meats. The quality of the food was solid, and the pleasantness of the cashier was even better. I was very satisfied with making a trip to visit this BBQ joint in Chula Vista.

Phenomenal BBQ!! I came across them when I was working in Encinitas. They were part of a Farmer's Market. They are legit!! Family owned and what a wonderful and amazing family! Hard working, friendly, and they make awesome BBQ! The meats are juicy, tender and full of flavor. Bought some extra to take home to the wife and she said it was soooo good! The meat had a great smokey flavor without being over powerful. Next time, I'll try their ribs and chicken. Can't break away from their tri-tip, brisket and hot link, though. I was told by a wonderful lady, my name will never be forgotten as I have the same name as her husband!....lol. Thank you for that awesome BBQ!! See ya soon....

I moved from Austin Texas and this sets the bar sky high for other places in the Encinitas/ San Diego area!!!This place is the Truth!! The Owner/ Operator/ Pitmaster is originally from Dallas, Texas. Ordered a Brisket sandwich and the double barrel Texas fries. The hot bbq sauce had some amazing heat and flavor - just the right balance.I believe it is family run which is awesome.Thank you Oak and Anchor!
