Taquería Zapata

I didn't realize it was just an order window on the side of a grocery store, but the food is still really good! The tacos are super cheap, and they come fully decked out with the red sauce, onions, guac, and limes on the side. My friend and I split 4 tacos total since we weren't that hungry, but we could definitely do 4 each normally. We got the carnitas, lengua, and two of the asada, and they were all yummy! The tacos were smaller than we wanted, but I guess that's to be expected with the price.The meat was on the drier side, but after we finished eating, we just went inside the grocery store and got a couple fruit juices. Overall, it was a nice, quick lunch, and we'd stop by again if we were planning on shopping afterwards.

Oh man... depends on the day, but here's what I've enjoyed: chicharron verde, suadero and lengua, buche, cabeza and pork adobada, pollo asado and carne asada. So basically, the whole taco side of the menu.And while none of those things is as good at Taquería Zapata as they are at various places in South Bay, for those better options, you pretty much have to visit a separate taco shop, one for each item. I just had these tacos today and theyre one of the worst tacos I've ever had. I ordered adobada and I'm pretty sure that was chorizo and ordered carnitas and one of the carnitas tacos had a chunk of fat and the carne asada looks like it's been sitting On the grill all day. It has good reviews and I'm so disappointed I drove from spring valley. Waste of gas, time, hunger and money also they use the same salsa and all of the tacos and it taste like salsa made for guiso para tamales veryyyy thick

Pretty good tacos for such a cheap price. The carne asada was super flavorful. The lengua was really tender but I wish it had more flavor.

Less than two dollars per a taco! Wow great price and absolutely delicious. I got 4 for lunch and that was perfect for me, although you can get away with 3. You can also go into the supermarket and get yourself some juice as well. Cheap lunch/dinner if thats your thing

So good, so filling and so cheap. My asada taco totally hit the spot after my plane landed. There is zero atmosphere because it's a stand outside of a grocery store so you might want to take your food to-go or just immediately shove it all in your mouth.

Located in front of the Pancho Villa Market, this little place is serving up some tasty Mexican street tacos and as of 12/12/15, all street tacos cost $2, no matter what you get. I ordered two al pastor tacos and one carne asada with all the fixings. The two al pastor tacos, including the carne, came on great corn tortillas that were grilled up with a little oil, so they had that nice translucent moist texture and flavor. The al pastor pork meat was tender and had a great chili, herbs, spices, pineapple, and achiote flavor, but most importantly, the meat had that great char flavor that gave the al pastor that X-Factor. The guacamole salsa was creamy and cool with good flavor and some was the salsa they added underneath. These were some great al pastor tacos.The carne asada taco was good. The beef was tender, but needed to me seasoned a little more. It did have a good mesquite and char flavor which is important. The freshly made guacamole was nicely made and tasted good. It was simple, yet effective. Good taco.They offer no seating, except for a small standing eating bar along the shopping cart parking area right in front of the eatery. Not a bad place to get your Mexi-Street Taco Fix.

My favorite tacos in San Diego! Full of flavor and good size. They are 2 for $5.00. I got asada and adobada and both sooo good!!

When someone asks me what's your favorite Mexican food place, I always tell them, " believe it or not it's in a Mexican grocery store ". They are so full of flavor. I wish they had a restaurant.
