"My family and I love pollo campero. We've ordered from them multiple times. Their fried chicken is always consistently well seasoned, although not the crunchiest fried chicken we've ever had. The spices in their chicken are very unique to them. We actually enjoy their fried chicken more than Popeyes, although pollo campero is more expensive. We also tried their fried chicken sandwiches, which were also delicious. Again, their fried chicken patty was well seasoned and it went well with their pickles. Their pickles were sweet, but not overwhelmingly so. The pickle texture was good too. I even enjoyed their mashed potatoes side, which reminded me a lot of KFC's mashed potatoes. Overall, I'd definitely recommend trying pollo campero if you want to try fried chicken that's not from the usual Popeyes or KFC chains."
"They are so rude!!!! The food takes forever, they do not tend to woman, they only tend to the men. They are sooo rude to English speakers! I don't speak Spanish, constantly rude because she can't understand me. When you call to place a to-go order the lady asked me if I spoke Spanish and when I said NO she hung up!!! Terrible terrible service! Trash can. So flipping rude and racist. I'll never come here or order here again. Only come here if your a Spanish speaking MALE!"

"I should start out by saying I didn't get to eat there, but the customer service was amazing. I tried to place an online order for a Campero Bowl, and they called me within like three minutes after placing the order to let me know that they were out of some of the ingredients and we're not able to make the bowls right now. She advised me to cancel the order online. *ps the 2 restaurants next door had signs up that said City Issue no water so Im assuming thats why they couldn't provide my request* It didn't allow me to do that so I called back and hit the buttons to speak with customer service. And the lady I spoke with had a personable attitude and positive and quick in solving the situation. She confirmed that she had my order information and then she was going to reach out to the restaurant location and put me on hold. within three minutes.,She was back on the phone with me letting me know that she canceled the order and has already processed the refund & confirmed the amount of refund, then apologized for the situation. So while I am still excited to try their food when they are back in stock, I was very impressed with the customer service. Because you don't get that anymore, especially not at a fast food restaurant. Very professional!! it was so easy to get the problem solved that I am going to definitely be giving them a second chance, so they are losing one star just because they were unable to provide my food."
"LAZY DAY!!! Because I did not feel up to cooking a home cooked meal for me and hubby, I decided to place an online to-go order from this establishment. The online ordering process is super easy, but you must have a Chow account in order to place online orders with them. This is not our first experience trying their food. It's great Peruvian cuisine which we absolutely enjoy! Normally, my husband will pick up our order, but he was super busy on this particular day. Therefore, I decided this would be the perfect time for me to make an appearance and check them out personally for myself. This review has been a long-time coming. Firstly, when I arrived, the place was not busy. There was a couple dining in and it was nice and quiet. I don't recall hearing any music playing in the background. There was dim lighting which made for a relaxing ambience. They have TV monitors mounted on the wall for entertainment. The dining area was pretty clean and spacious. Customer service is top-notch. The lady that served me was extremely friendly and welcoming. My husband said that whenever he goes to pickup our orders, they're always friendly and nice to him. I'm glad that I was able to finally come and see for myself. Secondly, I ordered the Brasa burrito with salad for hubby and the two-piece rotisserie dark meat with black beans and Chaufa rice on the side for myself. I chose the green sauce and yellow sauce, which are complimentary on all orders. They also have a red sauce which is okay. By the way, their green sauce is my favorite one. It tastes so delicious when you dip the chicken in it or even if you drizzle a little on the Chaufa rice. OMG! DEE-LI-SHUSH! It has a semi-spicy cilantro flavor to it. My husband absolutely loves their Brasa burrito. It's filled with delicious pulled chicken, queso fresco, yellow sauce, Mexican cream, crispy onions, black beans, and chaufa rice all wrapped inside an enormous flour tortilla. He also favors the green sauce and likes to dip the burrito in it. As for the side of black beans, they're packed with flavorful deliciousness. NOW, for the rotisserie chicken, it's the best that I've ever tried in my life. It's also packed with mouth-watering, flavorsome, delectable, and unique Peruvian flavors. Furthermore, it's juicy, tender, and succulent! It's definitely a must-try! Hubby and I normally order their whole rotisserie dinners which are accompanied with three sides and six sauce flavors of your choice. Overall, I am a huge fan of their Peruvian cuisine. I think I will dine in one day, since their dining room is clean and spacious. Since hubby and I are always ordering the chicken and the Chaufa rice, we would like to try something different on the menu. However, their rotisserie chicken and Chaufa rice are the bees knees people! It's absolutely delicious! I rated them four stars because the Chaufa rice that they sold me was not fresh this go round. It's usually super fresh and piping hot. However, this time it was hard and the chicken that's in it was also hard, making it difficult to chew. Bomber, because it's my favorite side on the menu. Instead of replacing it with some fresh rice, they sold me some stale rice. I was highly disappointed. Since it was late in the evening and close to closing hours, I guess they didn't want to throw it out and make some fresh rice. Nevertheless, I am recommending anyone who enjoys great tasting food to give them a try. You will not be disappointed! You can also follow them on instagram @chickhouz for updates and to also witness some of their most delectable and mouth-watering Peruvian cuisines on display. By the way, they have a new Chick Houz location coming soon in the Tomball area."
"This place is great with the best pupusas! I will definitely come by to enjoy all the refreshments and seafood is 2 thumbs up by far!"
"I was sitting next door getting gas when I noticed this place. Having never noticed it, I did a quick spot-check on Yelp - only 2 reviews, but they were solid. So...I decided perform my customary community service and check the place out.I ordered a few things off the menu - some tacos, a pupusa, and a kids quesadilla for my son. When the food came out, I was mildly prepared on what to expect. The tacos:The tortilla was at or near perfection. It had the perfect balance of texture, flavor, and temperature. I could have eaten there by themselves and been happy. The contents of the tacos were all very flavorful and temperature hot - the taco contents were well equipped, quantity wise. Very happy with the tacos. The pupusa:*Moment of silence* followed by *fireworks*Geez this thing was good. Between the flavor and the arm workout of stretching the cheese clear over my head when I broke it apart - this thing was amazing. Cheesiness everywhere. I loved everything about this place and can't wait to come back and explore the menu in deeper fashion. If you're in the parking lot about to go into another restaurant or even worse - on a waiting list at another restaurant - upgrade your experience and come to La Patrona Cocina Latina instead!!"
"Good food and very good service! We loved the pollo brasas, ceviche, and the purple drink (I can't remember the name of it) Alberto was such a great server. He was working alone that day and it got busy but he took such good care of us. They had some people picking up orders also. I loved the aji sauce!"
"Located inside a strip center on the very corner is this "La Fiesta Restaurant" and let me tell you the entire experience here was excellent!! Vibrantly Decorated and even better Musica in the background!! Playing traditional selections that matched the traditional plates and cuisine!! Everything was Delicious from the handmade Salsa and Chip's to the Nachos! Huge portions and very reasonable prices as well. Table service right away and they even have outdoor space too. (Too Hot )Designated parking spaces around the perimeter plus ample parking elsewhere. Again Delicious Authentic dishes and saborso comida!! Loved the whole experience and we will definitely come back here again!! Muchos Gracias Amigos"
"I've had my share of breakfast tacos in the area. And Jalapeno Joe's is by far the best! The soft tortillas, the fluffy eggs, the tender meats, the melted cheese... makes me want to drool as I write this. Don't be hesitant to try it just because it's right next to a gas station. You'll regret not giving this place a try! They charge their breakfast tacos based on how many items you get in it. If you ask me, go for as many as you like because the price difference is only a few cents. I've had sausage, egg, cheese, chorizo, potato, beans, bacon, and all the mix & matches you can come up with. I've also had their beef fajita tacos, barbacoa tacos, pastor tacos, and guisada tacos with my sister. All were great! All the meats were tender and flavorful. The only thing I disliked were the beans. Got a bean & cheese taco once and didn't like it as much as other places. But all the other ones were soooo good.I never really go in that direction so I don't get Jalapeno Joe's as often as I'd like to. But if you get the chance, give them a try!"
"We came on a Thursday around 8:00 and it was not busy at all. I ordered a margarita and it took awhile to come out. It wasn't pricey at all which I liked and the margarita was spot on. Ordered the Gloria's Super Special and it was good. I wasn't blown away but it was good. I really liked the plantain and remember the sour cream was really good too. They have a HH menu until 6:00 so I would like to come back and check out their specials."
"Still believe these are some the best tacos in Houston. Been coming here for a long time and it never disappoints. I would call the order in so you don't have to wait in the long line."

I haven't had Pollo Campero in a long time, and I am not disappointed with my most recent experience. We ordered a family meal, which came with 20 pieces of chicken, four sides, and tortillas. There was plenty of food for each of us (total of six) and we still had leftovers. For our sides, we got: fries, beans, rice, and mashed potatoes. The sides are pretty generic, but still enjoyable. The chicken was hot and crispy; I really enjoyed it. Everything is served with actual plates and utensils, which I like since it reduces waste. Overall, good and I plan on coming back and trying other items.

The management in this location is trash. They never have chicken ready and will just flat out refuse to make the grilled chicken some days. No matter what you order they never just give it to you in the drive thru and ask you to go park sometimes promptly forgetting about your existence so you have to go inside to ask for your order or go through the drive thru again. My guess is their drive thru is on a timer and they are supposed to keep it under a certain time per transaction but they can't because they never have any chicken actually ready. If you can't manage a drive thru properly, don't have one.

Are you a fan of Peruvian Food? If you live in Houston, TX Chick Houz is the place to be! Peruvian food is all about spices and big flavors, some clean and crisp, others deep and heavy. Chick Houz offers a variety of chicken sandwiches, salads and rice-based dishes. The staff is very accommodating, they gave great suggestions of what to try. Well, I stopped in because I saw the star rating and read the reviews. I do have to say that I was not impressed. I walked up to the counter and was greeted promptly but when I spoke in English the lady seemed quite agitated. Had she not rolled her eyes and made it obvious I would have gladly spoke in Spanish. There were only roughly 10 patrons when I walked in, clearly not busy at all. I walked up and ordered two pupusas to go. The wait was ridiculous! Two different waitresses acknowledged it and went to check on the order. Two other people came in and received their to go orders before I was handed mine. I went to hand the first lady my card and she informed me that it had to be more than 6.00 for her to accept it, so I had to pay with cash. My plan when I walked in and smelled the food, was to go back this evening and pick up dinner. But I can guarantee you that I will not return to this establishment! It's clear that I was not welcomed.

We went to this restaurant because of the Yelp rating, and we were not disappointed.! The service was wonderful, friendly and outgoing, the restaurant, an old Pizza Hut, was spotless, and the food was delicious! This is not Tex-Mex, it is authentic Central American dishes, which was not what we were expecting, but it was very good. We encourage you to take an adventure and give this place a try!

Love love love her tamales! Her food is always great quality, authentic and reasonably priced. The environment here is just great--great music, tables, chairs and the decor! Just makes me feel like at home or an aunts house. The service is professional and always with a smile. Definitely love that now she has her restaurant and will be coming back !

"This is a fantastic place! When you cross the door of this small hidden treasure in a regular strip mall in Houston you enter a fabulous world of flavors and delicious treats! The place is impecable, the service very friendly and professional! The food is from a World of sour American flavors deliciously executed! Cachitos - the Venezuelan version of the Kolaches are perfect and filled with generous ham, ham and cheese, spinach and ricotta or the mortadella and pistachios which is a new flavor to me! Coffee was awesome! Great flavor and texture! One of the best coffees I have ever had in the USA!!! Loved it! Whenever we come to Houston again we will be back!"
"Great food! We had Baleadas, Pupusas and Pastelitos. Everything was delicious! The staff was very friendly and made us feel welcomed. Recomendado!"
"I had a great time with my family. Drinks were fantastic! The food was superb. I hadn't ever had a Cuban tamale but if this is what they taste like I love them. Our server was nice & attentive. No problems what's so ever. Don't hesitate to give it a try."

Say "My Many Mini Food Tours" 10 times very fast. Better still say "My Many Mini Mani Pedis" 10 times fast. While I don't go back regularly, that is largely because the food is not healthy, rather than not good. It's truly delicious. Some of the best I've had in Houston. I don't care Guat anyone else says - I love this stuff.Try the insanely good churrasco, the wonderful pepian chicken, and the yummy Elote drink. The Platano drink is just okay, and the Horchata isn't great. The service is absolutely wonderful. Lovely people cooking up delicious homestyle Comida Centroamericana.I definitely recommend you come here and try the sublime delights of Guatemalan cuisine. And if you want to also try some Guatemalan fashion, go to the Guate-mall.And if you want to see a really interesting Robin Williams movie about Guatemala, check out "Guat Dreams May Come."And as my Latina gf, my Guatemalan 2 bfs, and about 13 trans-sexuals can confirm (or not), "Guat Happens In Houston, Stays In Houston.""
"The Bella Twins vs Roman Reigns? You can keep Roman around and wait for the summer Reigns. Just give Me Bella. Get it?Mi Bella. It's an absolutely wonderful Honduran restaurant in one of the most Honduran parts of town, which is an absolutely gorgeous area by the way. I love it and it's really hard not to. I'll probably be back here many times in future. It's also in the same plaza as my gym, so it's been a post-lifting cheat-ish snack on about half a dozen occasions this year alone."
"We had a fantastic lunch at Late August! The restaurant is pretty (located in that relatively new development near the Sears); the service is great; and the food is what puts it over the top. The food is a combination of Southern with some creole and is just delicious. Here's what we tried:-Cornbread: The bring out complementary cornbread, with a butter that has corn and peppers in it, and it was great--a wonderful start to a good, southern meal.-Field pea hummus: Our table shared the hummus as an appetizer, and it was absolutely fantastic, my favorite part of the meal. The hummus was a little tangy and so savory and topped with chorizo. On the side there was fried bread, which is exactly what it sounds like: bread that is fried and a little doughy, so good.-Gumbo: This gumbo was surprisingly fresh--the veggies in it were crispy (not smooshy), and it wasn't greasy at all. If you want a fresh, modern take on gumbo, this hits the spot."
"This was a small place off of bammel and beltway8. The owner was super friendly. The food took a long time to make as do most pupusa restaurants. That just goes to show that everything is freshly made. The pupusas were a little smaller than i'm used to at other places. They seemed to be heavier on the meat side and very light on the cheese side. The curtido here had a different flavor than i'm used to. I think it had a lot of oregano in it. I was also surprised they had 2 different kinds of salsa. Their green salsa was SUPER spicy so be careful."
"Pollo con tajadas was amazing & a huge serving. Sharing is best. My sister got plátanos and that was delicious too! The agua is a plus. The service was fast and friendly. They were so kind to us, even though we were unsure what to try and took time to look through the menu."
"My husband first introduced me to pupusas a couple of years ago, when we were driving by a Guatemalan place where we live. I was an instant fan! The way he compared the similarities and differences between what's offered at home, and what he originally tried in Houston really had my curiosity up. So naturally, while in Houston this weekend, I was excited to try some Salvadorian pupusas! I chose this place based on the options on their menu. We had several picky eaters that we were going to bring some back to, so options were a factor. The fact that they were open before lunch was also a factor. If I were going to rate the food alone, they would have gotten 5 stars! The food was 4 1/2 stars, but I would have rounded up because of my happy tummy. These are thicker and larger with crisper edges compared to Guatemalan pupusas and larger than what you find in a taqueria. They were great! My favorite was the pollo y queso de arroz. I've never had rice in a pupusa and that made it quite hearty. The edges on that one were extra crispy and that was just divine. I am craving another one as I write this!I also tried the queso pupusa, and it was better than what I normally get at a taqueria, very high quality. Those who tried the queso y jalapeno reported back that it was very spicy, but I know they were using the salsa, and that may have been a factor. While there we were getting thirsty and got a couple of Agua Fresca's. I had horchata and I have to say that it was way better than what I typically receive, may be my favorite horchata. Unfortunately, the place was completely packed and quite messy. The main factors in not giving five stars were time and a partially incorrect order. It took quite a while to place our order and despite being told about 15 minutes, it took well over 30 minutes to get it. We had ordered nine, but when we got to the car, there were only seven. I don't ever intend to spend 45 minutes in a pupuseria, but it's downright irritating to wait that long and have two missing from the order. The woman had said the right number back to me, but she wrote down the wrong one I suppose. When I brought it to their attention, they didn't offer to make it right. Instead they were like 'sorry, at least you didn't get charged for it' and I explained to them that money wasn't the issue, I had a house full of hungry people to feed. This was met with a shrug. I ended up leaving without them since they weren't too concerned and I didn't plan on waiting another 30 minutes, but that was disappointing. The other dishes I saw looked really good, but we were on a pupusa mission so that was all we tried. Not sure how they kept track of everyone as service seemed very disorganized. We were there at 10am on a Saturday, so I am not sure if they bring in more staff closer to lunch time or if this is just a normal thing here. $1.99 is pretty average and these are a little bigger, so I would say they are a good value. I thought mine with rice added in was worth the $2.50, so no complaints on price. By the way, if you are taking to go, be aware that the salsa is given in a ziplock bag. Yeah, I said a ziplock bag, it started leaking through on the drive home, so decide if you want to take that gamble. This place has great food and so much potential, but they need to maintain their restaurant, organize their staff to decrease the longer than quoted wait times and take better care of the customer. If those things were improved, there would be no reason not to give them 5 stars! If you are not familiar with the cuisine and don't speak Spanish very well, then I would suggest you check out the pictures of the menu on Yelp before you arrive. Hopefully, you can place your order early in your visit to balance out the long wait. The food is great though, as is the horchata, so worth trying if you have the time to spare!"
"Wow!!!! The food here was amazing. So good it made us miss our visits to Cuba, Mexico, and Miami. Best picadillo empanada ever. My Palomita presentation was such a whimsical surprise. The restaurant itself had great little touches of Latin culture everywhere. The staff here was a group of fantastic young men who clearly could put any service staff to shame. They were incredible. We were so impressed. Dessert coffee and tres leches is a must. We will definitely be back."
"Love this place! It's like a chipotle but obviously for tacos! lolYou can choose any protein that you like and the toppings!I got 3 tacos (shrimp ceviche, carne asada, and chicken)The shrimp was my favorite. You can order to go, or sit inside and eat. Plenty of space and tables/seats.Bathroom could prob use a good cleaningDrinks are also available, as well as a bar. "My wife and I decided to try this restaurant out for the first time. It's not much to look at from the outside but the food is really tasty. We ate the Coco chicken. It was wonderful and not overwhelmingly spicy. The servers don't speak much English but the food was worth it. We got an extra order of the handmade corn tortillas."
"I mean is good breakfast, good coffee, doesn't disappoint but it does not amaze me either, just another American dining spot, it's a good option, I was surprised of the good cocktail selection i had a couple and they were good.Harrys good spot 3 stars and that's all.++++++(GET THE COLADA MORADA tho, made my day)++++++"
"I took me wife to a pre Valentine's dinner at Lemon Tree and I'm glad I did it. The seafood was amazingly fresh and tasty, the staff was attentive and knowledgeable of the menu and the ambient was warm and cozy. Lemon Tree is a hidden gem, we'll be back soon with the rest of the family."
"My wife and I made our second trip to Costa Fina and they did indeed work out any service/pacing issues on our second visit and the food was outstanding once again. On our first visit, the bar was very slow on delivering cocktails and wine. This time as we walked in it looked like the bar was more fully staffed and they delivered. No delays whatsoever on drinks. For apps we ordered the carnitas tostadas - Great choice. Was amazed at how well the tostada held together with the large amount of flavorful toppings. The second app was the Tuna Tiradito. Again a solid choice with bright flavors that didn't hide the tuna taste. For the entrees my wife went with the Mar & Tierra - basically their rendition of surf and turn with 5 large jumbo shrimp and possibly the best churrasco steak we've ever had. This dish will be ordered on every return trip to Costa Fina and we will rotate the second entree around other parts of the menu. It was that good. I chose the seabass with Green Mole. It was also very good with crispy skin and great flavor. It was only overshadowed by how awesome the steak was. I meant to post this review right after dining when I remembered our servers name. I'm sorry to say that my memory is not the greatest and I'm sad that I can't acknowledge the young male server's outstanding service. Perfect amount of attention without being overbearing. Hopefully we get to meet him again on future visits, and I will log his name into my phone so he can get proper recognition.Great job Costa Fina!!"
"Great service. Nicely presented food. I had the Daily Special which was a bit mediocre... Regular fare of rice, beans, slaw, and several bony chunks of deep-fried meat that I took to be pork carnitas. I recommend this place and look forward to trying some of the other items on the menu."
"Worth a stop for breakfast or lunch. this place is easily accessible for FedEx drivers or UPS drivers or workers in the building. I highly recommend it as finding high protein good quality and beautifully presented food in this neighborhood is hard to come by."
"Stopped by for the soft opening. Tried the Baleadas de chorizo and one of the slushy drinks. Omg So good and filling. The place is very clean and family friendly. The green grass was perfect for my toddler to walk around under the shade. Staff was friendly and welcoming."
"Food was great! Had to have the tequeno on the ride home. Arepas are messy but worth it. Service was good and quick. The total was roughly $35 (tip included)."
"The ambiance from the moment you step inside is tranquil, serene and quiet-- I just KNOW I'll finally be able to finish coding and develop my software skills even more by visiting more frequently and not having my annoying anxious avoidant neighbor trying to start a conversation every 5 minutes in the common space area of where I reside.I can finally sip my coffee in peace and get some work done at the same time. Latina owned business and I look forward to returning again! El cafe de olla tastes just as if I made it at home, fresh y con un toque de canela traen el pan dulce del "El Bolillo", the best spot to buy pan dulce in Houston in my humble and ferocious foodie opinion. Como Hispana, y mas que nada, Mexicana y Cubana, a good cup of coffee is hard to find up to my standards... but this spot passes the test. It reminded me so much of my usual favorites in Austin, TX. This is one spot you do NOT want to miss within the Houston city limits for good pan dulce y un cafecito for the road ."
