"Came here for lunch on a rainy day and the place had such a peaceful ambiance! The floors are painted a serene turquoise. When you sit by the window watching it rain outside while you have your lunch, it brings peace into my heart!Besides that, service was friendly. You order at the counter and they bring the food to you. Water and utensils are self service. Food is provided with generous portions at a affordable price!We got the Lunch Special Chicken, Steak, Falafel and a Lamb Koubideh plate. Both came with seasoned rice, pickled veggies, a roasted half tomato, sauce, cheese, creamy hummus, & a half a pita! So much food! The meats were super tender and flavorful. All the food items went really went well together. We will definitely be back."

I specially liked the salads and the falafel wasn't dry at all. However, my husband didn't like the lamb platter much as the the meat was just ok.There is plenty of parking as it's located in a plaza. The ambiance was decent. "I met a friend here for a weeknight dinner. We needed a place between the areas we live and, because she was leaving from dinner for a drive of a few hours, we also wanted something relatively quick. She suggested Zad and I eagerly agreed. It was quiet there at 6:30 on a weeknight. We arrived at the same time as another party of two and offered to let them order ahead of us. They were a little slow but that gave us plenty of time to browse the menu and make decisions. Zad operates as fast casual - you order at the counter and then pick up your food when it's ready (or, in our case, a staff member brought it out to us). The food is prepared quickly, or at least it was during our visit, and is made fresh to order.I had the falafel entree, which came with two sides. I chose baba ghanoush and rice. The falafel was seasoned well and fried to a crisp while still being tender inside. The baba ghanoush was delightfully smoky and garlicky. My entree came with two fresh, warm pita, perfect for dipping in the eggplant. We also shared hummus, which has now ruined all other hummus for me for at least a month. The restaurant was clean and quiet. In addition to the party who ordered ahead of us, there was one other table with a family. It was an easy place to catch up over delicious food and enjoy our visit."

"This is in a strip mall, with access to an alley so on exiting you don't have to turn left on Roosevelt. There's plenty of seating and a mural with a little photo op bench that makes it look like you're in a minicab. Service was OK though the server was on his phone until it was quite obvious I was going to order.Vegetarian items are clearly marked and none of the "fusion" options are vegetarian. So I stuck to the classic options (samosa; chaat on samosa; various things on puri or papi), which are nacho-chip sized papadum (I had to ask). Sauces are extra, apparently house-made). I'm not desi, so I had to ask some questions - the website provides descriptions of ingredients. The "sweet" section of the menu includes mango or rooh afza falooda (which the internet informs me is rose and various herbal flavors) with little jelly bits and ice cream, or you can get them in a lassi. Or there are multiple nonalcoholic mojito flavors. I got a "plain old samosa" with spicy green chutney and a mango falooda.The samosa was unexceptional but fresh from the fryer with very crisp pastry; the spicy green chutney was; and the mango falooda was delightful. I'm not super excited about the food (I'm more or less done with samosa chaat and I'm not a big fan of puri) but I am excited about the drinks selection. I'm not the target audience, but if you like fast Indian street food with a variety of sweet drink options, check them out!"

I was surprised that everything felt like fresh out of kitchen when we got the delivery. The food was carefully wrapped with tin foil, so everything was nice and warm. Overall, the food was delicious. Love their beef samosa for the crispy shell and garlic naan bread for the fluffiness. However, the Tandoori Lamb Boti Kabob was terrible. The meat was dry, chewy, and loaded with spice... Not sure if this is the way that lamb kabob is supposed to be, but that dish is one bad apple that ruins the bunch."

My husband stated that menu said that burger come slathered in sauce. When I return, I will ask for less sauce or sauce on the side. It was too much for me. Anyhoo the burger was tender and cooked perfectly. The backfire sauce is spicy...but good. My husband enjoyed his firefly burger and his curly fries. The onion rings were stand out and would definitely order again. All in all a good dinner."

Next item was the beef Kuudak ($18) which was similar to the Manty but not steamed but pan fried with the same meat filling. Last item was the kabob which was the best tasting ($25) 4 morsels. Overall, the food was ok and should have ordered different dishes not sure why she ordered the same meat dish for us. The location of the restaurant is near many other food types. She told us a couple minutes and it turned out to be 25 minutes to get our food. Once home, the schwarma pitas received a good review. Loaded with chicken and very large. The falafel was also large, but is was very, very seasoned. Maybe it was too much coriander and a bit too much cumin. I could not taste the pickles or the garlic sauce through the spices. This type of falafel is not for me, so I would not return, but the others did like their sandwiches and the soup. If you dine in, I still believe you order at the counter. There is plenty of space inside the restaurant which has two rooms. The paint, flooring and finishes look new and are well done."

"The flavors that come out of this small restaurant in a strip mall on Dempster are just amazing. If you've never had Afghani food before, Afghan kabob is a Percy place to try. They offer delicious kabobs, lamb, chicken and beef which are cooked to perfection and spiced just right. All the meats are seasoned so well that not only do you get a tasty dish but it is also moist and consistent. The service is usually pretty fast as well. I ordered carry out for dinner on. Friday evening and turnaround time was 20mins. Can't beat that for fresh cooked food to order."

"Anmol Barbeque Restaurant is a Casual, family-owned eatery offering traditional Pakistani cuisine made from halal meats. This is by far the best bbq we've had on all of Devon ever! We've tried them all and Anmol is a definite stand out from the rest. The place is very clean and they also have a sink where you can wash your hands before and after eating. Entrees are not only outstanding but generously portioned. They are the only establishment on Devon that puts 3 sauces on the table (cilantro-creamy, mint onion chutney- herby, and a plum - sweet and spicy) to go with all your meats and entrees. The place is packed on weekends but well worth the wait. Staff is professional and won't rush you like some other places there do. Amna was our server and she was very attentive and made sure we had an enjoyable meal. All items are top quality, authentic, freshly made and delicious! This place doesn't disappoint!"

It said it was a Thai food restaurant and that's what we had a taste for, and we were in for a surprise...Upon arrival, you noticed that the decor may have been originally a Mexican restaurant but it just suits this restaurant so well when you meet the owner and his staff and get a feel for the other customers -- Asian, Eastern European, East Indian. It's a down-to-earth, authentic food and staff, pleasant experience.Upon first look at the menu, we realized there were only perhaps three Thai items. The rest were... kind of middleeastern, kind of mediterranean, kind of asian, kind of... we couldn't figure it out but we were excited! After a roundabout conversation with the owner who was also our server, I finally asked straight out and he said they're from Central Asia and I pushed a little more and... Kyrgyzstan!!! We were even more excited and intrigued to try his recommended items.Sorry Mommy salad -- mixed greens, blueberries, dried cranberries, walnuts, avocado, tomato -- fresh, mega-healthy, delicious! This is either a meal in and of itself or perfect for two or more people.Tom Yam -- a slightly spicy fish soup. I think it had coconut milk in it. It had salmon, shrimp, some other Seafood, as well as I think perhaps peppercorn, lemongrass, and..? It was wonderful! We really enjoyed it! This was just a single skewer and the price was appropriate, but perhaps a full meal would be better as a double portion.As Kyrgyzstan has many Muslims, it's a halal restaurant. As such, no alcohol, but that was okay by us. In fact, at the owner's recommendation, we had a pot of homemade fruit tea and it was absolutely bright, full of flavor, almost honey like, and delicious. It came in a glass decanter and you could just see the flavor dying to come out. Here's where I feel like a jerk- - the owner shared the word three or four times with us how to say teacup and I have forgotten yet again. We were full, and quite content, by the end of dinner and wonderful conversation in a quiet environment with a happy humdrum in the background. They offered us dessert, and we thought about it, and thought about it, and decided to go with the kyrgystan version of honey cake. It was a layered cake, with definitely the taste of honey, perhaps some cinnamon and a little bit of maybe Farina, and something that may have been a fluffy cream cheese in there as well. Whatever it was, it had a unique, special flavor that we had never had before, and it was wonderful!Prices here are very reasonable especially for what you get -- homemade, large portions, knowledgeable staff, wonderfully friendly and engaging and helpful staff, and a clean and peaceful restaurant.We are definitely returning for another visit for the friendly and comfortable environment and to try yet some different items. Food was prepared in about 10 minutes. There's plenty of parking out front and on the side street. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Every item we tried was delicious and everything was made to order - be patient when you order curries as they are making them fresh - no premade curries here. After my one visit, I can say it definitely deserves all the stars it can get.Finally, I have a chance to try Koshary, Egypt's national dish. If you look at the reviews and photos, you'll see that it's a mix of rice, lentils, and pasta, topped with a tomato sauce and fried onions. All of it is naturally vegan friendly which made this an easy order for me.I really enjoyed my first experience trying their koshary. The plate looked massive but somehow I was able to finish it on my own. It's definitely a sharable plate so I would recommend that if you are with others and can do family style. Egypt's national dish is a plus in my books.I tried some of my friend's fries from their pitas and they were some of the best fries I've had in a very long time.Service here was super friendly and attentive. So according to the dude who I spoke with, I couldn't order over the phone for delivery because I was outside the delivery zone but I could order online because GrubHub or whatnot would pick it up. Weird.The food was good. The portions were adequate and the meat was flavorful. I didn't have much of the accompanying vegetables but the pickles were pretty good. The garlic sauce hasn't replaced my favorite, but it was good nonetheless. I would eat here again if I was near the restaurant, but not sure about using the ordering system again. However, it did get here pretty quickly--about half hour after I got a text saying it was picked up--and that I definitely appreciated."
