This is in a strip mall, with access to an alley so on exiting you don't have to turn left on Roosevelt. There's plenty of seating and a mural with a little photo op bench that makes it look like you're in a minicab. Service was OK though the server was on his phone until it was quite obvious I was going to order.Vegetarian items are clearly marked and none of the "fusion" options are vegetarian. So I stuck to the classic options (samosa; chaat on samosa; various things on puri or papi), which are nacho-chip sized papadum (I had to ask). Sauces are extra, apparently house-made). I'm not desi, so I had to ask some questions - the website provides descriptions of ingredients. The "sweet" section of the menu includes mango or rooh afza falooda (which the internet informs me is rose and various herbal flavors) with little jelly bits and ice cream, or you can get them in a lassi. Or there are multiple nonalcoholic mojito flavors. I got a "plain old samosa" with spicy green chutney and a mango falooda. The samosa was unexceptional but fresh from the fryer with very crisp pastry; the spicy green chutney was; and the mango falooda was delightful. I'm not super excited about the food (I'm more or less done with samosa chaat and I'm not a big fan of puri) but I am excited about the drinks selection. I'm not the target audience, but if you like fast Indian street food with a variety of sweet drink options, check them out!

My first visit to this place. Went there around 9pm on the weekend. This place is located in a strip mall with plenty of parking. It's a HALAL Pakistani and Indian style street food with options such as chaat, pani puri, samosa, shawarma and chai etc. We ordered their Smashed Chaat (Samosa Chaat) was really good, Chicken Shawarma was decent but felt bit dry, still not bad. Chai was excellent. This place is clean, well maintained and has decent ambiance setting. Although you get a typical fast food feeling when you enter but it's a pleasant place to visit. They are open till late night.I would recommend this place. One of the better chai places in the area that has good street food and is not overly crowded.

We stopped into Niwaala on a whim after seeing it while driving by. It's at the corner spot of a strip mall on Roosevelt. The interior isn't huge, but seating is adequate. I didn't love the black & white color scheme, but they have a nice mural on one wall and a fake tuk tuk for fun photo ops.The menu was limited, but I believe it will be expanded at some point. It's basically Indian street food like chaat and pani puri along with a few fusion dishes. They have a couple of fun-sounding drinks, but we didn't try those. We ordered a Smashed Chaat and a Pani Puri. The chaat was okay, but it was cold. Since it was supposed to have a samosa base, I was hoping for a warm dish. My wife wasn't convinced it was samosa, but felt it was just the crust. Honestly, I like the samosa chaat at Honest better. Some sweet tamarind sauce would have helped the Niwaala version. The pani puri was also okay. It was pretty basic, but I think that Niwaala is going for that basic street food feel with its classic dishes. To be fair, the pricing is low for these dishes. While I didn't love Niwaala, it's nice to have a chaat spot in Lombard if you have the craving and are in the area.

The place was done up very appropriately - for food on the streets, ambiance was very reasonable. I had high expectations of this establishment. We there in an afternoon, though there was no other client. Only one person was the Jack of All. Taking orders, preparing and serving. The Papri Chary and Tea I ordered were mediocre - not sure I will go there again.

I got the Tandoori Shawarma Wrap and it was delicious. It had great flavor and a little spice. The staff was friendly and the food came out quickly. Best of all, it was open after 10 pm.

Great South Asian fusion street food with a good, restrained menu. Standouts:Braised beef sliders, samosas, and the pineapple tundra.

Took my stomach 4 mins to vomit out whatever it was they served. The worst part is we drove half an hour to try the place because the pictures looked fancy, and it seemed like a chill place for a Friday evening. We ordered chicken burrito, samosa chaat, and a falooda. Every item was cold, so, i infer they were probably sitting there for more than a day because i have never had this kind of reaction in over 20 or so years (terrible memory as a kid of vomiting out spoiled food). So, if you care about your health, this might not be the one for you.
