HFC & Shawarma Grill

Either I came on a bad night or this Is the worst Middle Eastern food I had in my life. The hummus and tahini tasted spoiled. The thing they call "Beef Shawarma" tasted like some fake over salty food. Now I salt the hell out of my food, this beef however was something else. It all went to the trash can.To business owner Rezwan, I am just interested in getting my money back why would I want a free entry? I can't understand how you can serve any customers this crap your business gave me today.

The Ownership/staff knows that a first impression makes a lasting impression, something that is lacking in most of the halal joints near Devon. Food was made fresh and I was offered a chai as I waited for my pickup ( which was delicious) I got the combo platter and the portion was HUGE.

Hold up wait a minute ....Get you butt in gear and get here tonight!This place is off the hook, authentic Mother and Son's cooking up some of, if not the best Shawarma I have eaten, and let me tell you I've eaten it all over Chicago and the USA from Seattle to NYC I went with the Combination Entree, and you better bring you big boy pants if you want to finish your meal, I'm eating the leftovers for lunch right now not as good reheated but my taste buds are still happy My other half got the fried chicken "spicy" it's not that spicy but the ghost pepper wings are.Bring your patience now the chicken is made to order so no old dried out chicken sitting under a heat lamp. It's hot, fresh, juicy and full of flavorIt's truly worth the wait.Order yourself some Chai tea it will make your taste buds do a happy dance Not many places have ever gotten a 5 star review without a second visit but seriously I want to go back tonight but I'm working, oh its not listed but they have delivery just call it's one of the son's delivering I believe.

Oh wow. What an incredible surprise. Everything cooked to order and it shows. They put the Arabian Shwarma wrap on the grill for a great golden crisp on the bread. Fried chicken was also super. And everything om the shwarma combo plate was incredible. Right down to the rice. Huge fan. Best shwarma I've had in Chicago and the owners and servers couldn't be nicer or more hospitable.

Family-owned, halal restaurant that takes pride in making delicious food with a twist, highly recommend! The beef shawarma wrap is spectacular - the meat is tender, the garlic sauce is on point, and the wrap is pressed to perfection for a satisfying bite that is addictive. The fries are crisped perfectly and the twist is a sprinkling of sumac. The fried chicken offers an extra kick in the spicy breading and a side of the HFC special sauce (yogurt mint sauce that takes the fried chicken to another level). Can't wait to go back and try more of their menu which also includes wings (different levels of spice offered) and chicken shawarma. The prices are very reasonable too, great spot for a causal dinner with friends or quick take-out. Make sure to also try the chai - authentic and delicious special family recipe.

I tried HFC a week ago with some friends and we were not disappointed. We ordered and shared various dishes, all were very tasty. We tried the fried chicken (of course!) which had a crispy corn-meal based crust delicately seasoned with their secret south-Asian spice blend. We also had some yummy house-made Dolma, Falafel and lentil soup.The very delicious dipping sauces (garlic, mint/cilantro) are made in house too and complimented our dishes well. Another must-try is the beef and chicken shawarma wrap. Both meats are seasoned and cooked to perfection. No dry, stringy meat here! Additional flavor and texture bonuses were the pieces of pickle in the sandwich and a grilled wrap that gave it a chimichanga crispness without actual frying.Don't pass up the Chai or homemade Gulab Jamun for dessert!Overall, a great food experience and we were very pleased by the attentiveness of the staff. We will be back soon!

I got the 4 pc spicy fried chicken and fries to go and it was delicious! Everything was nicely seasoned and the chicken came with some salad too. I was absolutely stuffed for a bit less than $9. Free chai while I was waiting too.

This place has some really delicious food. Great prices with large portions, along with excellent hospitality and service. It's a relatively new place in the area, family run by one of the nicest guys you could ever meet. They have one of the best pita breads I ever had. They also have really good salads. And their combination plate is full of delicious meats and really good tasting rice. The combination plate also comes with different sauces for the meats, the light green spicy one was my favorite and is delicious.

It may look like your average Devon Ave halal restaurant, but HFC & Shawarma Grill is anything but! After the past two times I always forget to snap a pic of the food bc of how amazing it looks when I bring it home! Portions both times were very generous! Last but not least they always offer complimentary tea, which is some of the best desi tea on Devon! Also if your one to meal prep check out my picture below. One combo entree got me lunch for a couple days! Plus it's so yummy! PS: My roomate brought the fried chicken home last week... probably the best "desi" style fried chicken in the Devon area!
