"It's been awhile since I've been but this is one of the best hood gems I've stumbled across. I stopped here randomly on a lunch break and was starving. I went in on a Tuesday and they recommended that I buy tacos that were on special. The food is pretty cheap considering how much food you get, and the specials each day are worth it. The tacos were really good, maybe a little greasy. The only bummer is that they only accept cash and you may have to wait for food, but it's still good and worth it."

There are many online comparisons of this place to Manny's. I finally went to this place and got the large Corned Beef on rye. I was some what disappointed in the sandwich. It was large but didn't have much flavor. Compared to Manny's this place has them beat on size but not flavor. So far I have never had a Corned beef sandwich better then Jason's Deli or Harrington's."

"I had lunch here last week and immediately upon walking inside knew I was going to like it. The restaurant was full of diners which is always a good sign and I grabbed my tray and went down the cafeteria style line looking at my options...and there were many. I decided to go with the beef stew for $20. The server on the other side of the steam table grabbed a plate and loaded it up with big chunks of stew meat, carrots and potatoes and drenched it all in gravy and handed it to me. He also offered several bread roll options and I went with an onion roll. I thought about whether I should get a dessert too but my beef stew was so massive I thought that would be enough food for this meal. It easily was.The beef chunks were fork tender and absolutely delicious bathed in that gravy. The potatoes and carrots were equally good. Believe me there was no shortage of meat on that plate. So much so I couldn't finish it all leaving 2 pieces of meat behind. The onion roll was dense and delicious too. It was a fine tasting and filling meal. The portion sizes here are huge I saw some of the deli sandwiches other diners got and I can tell you they got their money's worth! I understand why Manny's is so successful and has been in business as long as it has. Great tasting food served in large quantities and reasonable prices equals success. Come here and you won't go home hungry."

"Not gonna lie, I looked up how to pronounce "paczki" before I walked in because I didn't want to look like an idiot.It's pronounced "POONCH-key."This is an adorable Lithuanian and Polish bakery in the MDW area. They have all sorts of European sweets as well as donuts, eclairs, and American fare. The first think that caught my eye was the paczkis, stuffed donuts with fillings like apricot, blueberry, rose hip, raspberry, and fresh strawberry. The fresh strawberry one ($2.99) was amazing, like a strawberry shortcake. The pastry itself was light and crisp on the outside, and the filling and cream was perfectly sweet. So, so, good!Note that they do have a $5 minimum to use card. Just buy more paczkis!"

"Valentine's Day dinner with the family... we were escorted to our table right away, the inside is unpretentious and cosy with wood fire - pizza oven and minimal decorations. Our server Joseph brought out our drinks and accidentally dropped beer on me and broke the bottle . My new red dress messed up and I was wet and uncomfortable for rest of the evening. My wine was served in a stemless glass not sure why , didn't enhance my experience of the good Pinot noir. We got the mussels, delicious! Some sausage appetizer and Main course whole chicken, pasta and seafood risotto. Dessert cannoli and tiramisu. Loved the pasta sauce wish they sold in the deli up front. They offered lemon cello @ the end for the valentines. Not sure if I want to come back ."

"It's grocery day and we went to this grocery store. As we arrived the parking lot was full and just in time there was a car leaving so we waited for it to go and we parked at his / her place. Because it's the weekend, many customers are there. Every basket of the customers is full of food. Their store was so clean and spacious. Everything you need can be bought in this store because of a lot of food sections with a different variety of foods and drinks.We went to the produce section. They are fully stock and organized. The vegetables and fruits are fresh. We bought some bananas, apples, grapes, strawberries and mango. Next we went to the section of junk food and juices. They have a wide variety of Asian food. Because of a lot of sections their staff help me to find anything that we need. And thanks to this place we bought everything we needed."

This weather for a California boy is a bit alien and I can't say I like it to much.So, I sat down at my laptop, logged into my local Goddess and Grocer and ordered myself a: *California Dreaming sandwich with house roasted turkey breast, Swiss cheese, avocado, tomato, arugula, lemon herb aioli, multigrain breadand my wife a:*Miso Chicken Salad with chicken, rice vermicelli, spicy broccoli, snow peas, carrots, Napa cabbage, kale, cilantro, mint, pickled red onions,miso honey vinaigretteI put my thermal undershirt on, my turtleneck on, my warm socks, my warm parka, my gloves and muffler, and walked the two blocks in Antarctic conditions. There was not a soul on the streets walking and I totally understand why!Goddess Grocer had our lunch prepared right on time and packed perfectly for my short walk back home.We unwrapped this pretty damn good lunch, paid our $5.99 to watch Oppenheimer (The Movie) and hunkered in like any sane person would do under these conditions.Thank you Goddess Grocer for making this day nice and easy!"

"In town this summer visiting family and stopped at my Favorite European Deli & Sandwich Shop. I normally buy the freshly made delicious salmon/dill salad and chicken salad; the best ever. This time they were serving the Rueben Sandwich which they only offer once a week because it's made in-house and I know it's a process. The Rueben sandwich was amazing; and the flavors and tenderness of the corn beef meat is to die for. I miss this sandwich so much as it's hard to get this type of authentic tasting deli food in Houston. I hope they always stay in busy because they make and offer different food items daily. Also, their bakery items and coffee is so good. This is such a quaint deli shop for the Flossmoor area which is nice for quick bite or coffee break and lunch with friends or day date. I can't say enough good things about this place. If you're a cook you will really appreciate the change in menu items. Every salad and sandwich I've tried had a flavor burst to to your taste buds. "JB's Deli is a sandwich lovers dream!I was originally introduced to JB's via my husband a year ago but I never had the appetite to eat such a large sandwich. I finally randomly decided to check out JB's on a surprisingly busy day. The inside of JB's is a 1/3 sandwich counter, 1/3 miniature store, and a 1/3 sitting section in the back room. I didn't expect it to have so much going on inside but it gets very cramped when a lot of people are waiting for sandwiches and by a lot I mean 5 or 6 people.On the day I visited it was really busy and they were unfortunately short-staffed so the wait time was probably double what you'd normally encounter. I ordered the "My Cardiologist Needs a New Car" and it was massive. It was listed as roughly 3/4 pounds of deli meat and they did not lie.The sandwich was massive and I only managed to get through a quarter of the sandwich. Due to the size of the sandwich I was able to eat it over a couple of days. Next time I am going to opt for a sandwich that is promptly pastrami and/or corned beef because the brisket was a little flavorless. The saltiness from the other meats helped balance the flavors but it you had the brisket by itself it wasn't as delicious as the corned beef and pastrami. The overstuffed sandwiches are a great way to buy something that will last you a few meals and try out the different combinations of meats. I will definitely visit again to try out a different sandwich but I will pre-order so I can avoid any potential wait-time."
