Cermak Produce Fresh Market

It's grocery day and we went to this grocery store. As we arrived the parking lot was full and just in time there was a car leaving so we waited for it to go and we parked at his / her place. Because it's the weekend, many customers are there. Every basket of the customers is full of food. Their store was so clean and spacious. Everything you need can be bought in this store because of a lot of food sections with a different variety of foods and drinks.We went to the produce section. They are fully stock and organized. The vegetables and fruits are fresh. We bought some bananas, apples, grapes, strawberries and mango. Next we went to the section of junk food and juices. They have a wide variety of Asian food. Because of a lot of sections their staff help me to find anything that we need. And thanks to this place we bought everything we needed.

They don't honor their listed and shown prices, I don't deal with grocers who don't play it straight. I'd advise anyone reading this to seek other opinions. Where you buy your food and drink should always be above board. If it's not., then you don't know where else they may be cutting corners.

I needed jams and came here for just that. I bought two different t kinds, my favorite is the raspberry preserve by Tassos. I give 4 stars because of the parking lot.

I've seen that the service here at this store continues to become worst and worst everyone First of all Beware of the hot food cermak (Humboldt Park) you end up taking it home and when you're ready to eat the food is slimy (not good to eat) Happened twice The prices at this neighborhood grocery store have also became extremely expensive -Recently I started to notice that the store seemed to be overcrowded with employees who will sweep right underneath your feet and not even say excuse me. There's also been several occasions where every isle I walk through there's a young girl and a guy talking, laughing and the truth is that it bothers me because they don't move while I'm trying to do my shopping they just look at you and act like nothing. This place hires a bunch of non professional people individuals who have all these writings on their face The girls wear these hoops earrings that are humongous ( this is a grocery store for God sake ) The cashiers just dump your groceries into the bag without having any consideration that bananas don't go with can good it's obvious that the banana will become damaged.

I really enjoy going to this market. It is much more than a produce market. They have a great selection of meats, diary, canned goods and of course produce. I try to go in the morning before it gets too busy. Upside of going in morning is the store isn't crowded. Downside is all the yummy deli goods aren't prepared. They do have some deli and bakery items off to rhe side. During the day, the market smells so delicious as they are baking bread and other yummy items. Prices here can be random. So meats are priced very good. Produce is a toss up. Usually prices are very good on produce but sometimes outrageous. One day strawberries were .99 cents and then the next week they were 4.99, today they were 5.99. I like to come here for most items. I also go to Aldi's & Jewel Osco for othet items. By far, happy to have this market nearby. They have last minute lunch and dinner items. I was thoroughly impressed with selection of ready to go items. Recommend: Rotisserie Chicken 5.99, pasta salad 3.99 a lb and my absolute artichoke dip for 4.99 lb.

ANTS. BUGS. ANTS. When I first moved to the neighborhood, they were my go to grocer. Reasonably priced, fresh produce and neighborhood convenience. A few weeks ago, my gf picked me up a pre-made sandwich from the deli. I was totally disgusted when I opened it up and there were about a dozen live ants crawling around the sandwich. When she brought it back, they said, "Ok, we'll give you your money back." (They didn't eat much) Since Covid hit, their prices have gone thru the roof. They now have two tiered pricing where "luxury items" like yoghurt and Topo Chico have gone up around 50% or more, while economy items like tortillas and basic ground beef have remained about the same. A lot of their items are comparable in price to and even more than Whole Foods. Their cut fruit always has a lot of rind in it and isn't always fresh. Also, note their frequent health violations.

I am consistently bringing back items that are expiring day of or have already expired. I get that at this point I should be weary and check myself, but also y'all need to step up the QA game. Generally see a lot of bad looking produce, which I know is not always the store's fault, but don't put that on your customers. I was also really grossed out a few months ago when I saw moldy bagels front and center on the shelf. I have also been rang up for incorrect items multiple times. Got a bundle of spinach and was charged 5 dollars extra bc it was rung up as asparagus. Didn't see it til I got home. Honestly, a lot of the employees look like they work hard here, especially the dude that's always restocking dairy. Always super friendly too. So I don't know what's going on. Bad management or structure I guess.

So I come here with my family every now and then. I went this morning bought some broccoli. washed and boiled the broccoli and right when I was about to eat, there were WORMS inside. Sure someone might say that in the photo it looks like pieces of broccoli, but believe me it is notttt.

hello, I went shopping there for my Thanksgiving dinner as i've been doing for many years, I love your store and the items and most prices are great. I spent $235 there on Nov, 11th and bought 2 large sofritos, I put one in the freezer and one in the fridge so tonight i go to season my pernil and the sofrito taste funny, it did not taste like sofrito. I don't know who made this batch but they really messed up. I always buy the sofrito there and never had no problems with the taste. I can comment on the other one cause it's still in freezer. i had already made the rub for my pernil and it has to marinate, we add water so it made it a little better and i hope my pernil taste good.

I usually love this location and have been going here since I was a kid. But recently I've noticed some shady things. It's my second time I've been double charged for an item less than a dollar and I honestly think it's a scam. There's no way twice in like a 4 month period, I get charged an extra of an item that's less than a dollar, I find it hard to believe that the cashiers don't know how to count. So please check your receipts these scams are likely to happen especially because not a lot of people like to go back inside to dispute a transaction less than a dollar. I've also seen other people complain about being overcharged so I guess it's a real issue here.
