"This place is amazing. The owner is so friendly and helpful, the inside is so clean and a great environment to sit, eat, drink (I think I even saw hookahs). We got our food to go and the wait was not bad at all. The food was absolutely delicious. Only downside is the food coma that comes after haha. Definitely don't pass up this place and definitely get a cheese steak (coming from someone who is from Pennsylvania & has had their fair share of Philly cheesesteaks). Thank you for a great experience. Definitely will be back for more!"
"Love the hookah here!!! So smooth! We had watermelon passion fruit mint, a good combo. Maddie (sp?) was our waitress and she was very personable and friendly. They serve drinks here which are strong. The atmosphere is very nice and relaxed. They play a mix of music which is mostly R&B, which I really like.I plan to come here a lot more!!! Great place!"

"Compared to the bar next door, PJ's is a bit more lively and has more things going on like Karaoke night. I caught my first one recently and it was a big hit but I really wish the sound level was either turned down or mixed better so it wouldn't be so ear piercing. It's been two days later and my ears are still ringing!Overall, this is a classic dive bar and a look into Houston's past (the 90's lol) before the mattress stores and the cookie cutter apartments took over the area. It literally looks like an old house with stressed beams and creeky floors. They serve drinks in plastic cups which I actually appreciate since every time I get a drink from a glass from a dive bar, I wonder whether I'm going to catch something. Plastic is just fine with me.As far as it being a sports bar, it would have to depend on your definition of a sports bar. They have 3 TVs downstairs and an ancient looking projector thing upstairs that should have been tossed in the trash 10 years ago, so in that regard, if there is an Astros/Rockets/Texans game, you can go watch it there among friends and be happy so technically, it is a sports bar; however, if you're looking for a place with dozens of TVs each tuned into a different NFL package game while also covering other sports at the same time, it may not meet your definition of a sports bar. Anyway, nothing fancy here...Just a nice little dive bar in the non-douchy part of midtown."
"I've been here a few times over the years. It has always been a solid experience. The bar wrapping around to both sides of the joint is clutch. The service has always been pretty fast, whether it's crowded or not. They always seem to have a different food truck or popup for food. I'm not sure I've ever seen the same crews twice, but that could be because I don't go often, and always on different days. They have a solid daily specials menu. The last time I went was whiskey $5 with premium specials at $7. Not a bad deal. Also, last I heard this place has an age restriction of 23+. I dig a bit of refinement in regards to the clientele (insert golf claps). Their drinks are basically classics. I haven't seen them have creative cocktails, or an amazing beer selection, just a solid sports bar type of menu. This place would accomodate any social or professional gathering where anyone could find something they like to drink, at a reasonable price, and a fair bit of room. My last experience was supporting a military veterans group at MD Anderson. Everyone was happy with the drinks and food. It happened to be steak night, and the steaks were great. Location-wise it is relatively central to most places. Rush hour sucks on 59 (always), but it sucks everywhere. They have a larger parking lot that always seems to be full."
"Great place in La Porte where there are not many options! Great menu and daily specials. I love their boudin balls. The queso is okay. They have a burger lunch special which sounds great (I have not visited on my lunch hour yet). Nice staff. David is so funny & great to sit at the bar to hear his jokes"
"Decided to watch the NBA Finals game here with my family and it kind of felt like my childhood.First I tried their roti and curry dip. I liked it. The roti was warm and the curry dip was flavorful. It was also $2 taco night. They were out of chicken, no problem, so I went for a pork taco and a beef taco. The pork taco was nice and savory, and the beef taco tasted very similar to a BBQ beef I used to eat growing up. The "taco shell" was the roti. I also wanted their Sous Vide Pork Belly Banh Mi since it sounded like an interesting variation of the famous Vietnamese sandwich. They were out of the pork belly (bummer) so I opted for the Bap Bowl with the pork bulgogi. In my opinion, it was too much rice and not enough meat although it was tasty. I didn't really think it was worth the price tag either. For drinks, I had the Kadito. It's similar to a mojito, was a tad sweet for me, however it was a refreshing cocktail.I love supporting local Filipino businesses, but this spot isn't necessarily my favorite. I probably would only return for $2 taco night."
"After a holiday party, we were looking for a bar in the area for a small after party and we ended up at Providence. This no-frills sports bar has plenty of seating, TVs, and all of the games you would hope for at a sports bar. There is even another room where you have board games and video game systems if that's more your style. If you're looking for a casual spot, check them out."
"Tuesday afternoon for a quick lunch with a 16 year old ravenous teenage boy. Seemed like a good option. We ordered wings, sesame chicken strips and pretzel sticks with queso. The place was virtually empty but one server/bartender and an trainee were handling the whole place. Everything was slow. The food was good with exception of the Daniel's sesame strips which were decidedly overcooked. The wings and pretzels were quickly consumed."
"The overall ambiance of this bar was super cool and spacious. However, it doesn't seem that many people come by and hang out here. It was almost empty on a friday night. It seems like a Pregame type of bar. There are some pretty cool games such as jenga and even shooting basketball. There's a really cool outdoor area with swinging benches as well. It's definitely more for if you are catching up with friends and want to chill and relax. It also seems like this bar would be pretty cool to sit back and watch a few astros games. I've had this bar on my radar and am really surprised that there wasn't a better turn out. Even though I was secretly happy it wasn't packed, I was pretty shocked. I definitely recommend this bar for a group of friends. Has an intimate setting outside. Not as lively as what you would think. I saw people order from a food truck and then eat outside at the tables. Will be back when I'm in the area next time!"
"Well, well, well. Look what I found. I have found dive paradise. When you think of a dive bar, you envision a bar that is exactly like this. Bars like this don't strive to change, but strive to remain exactly the way they are. I think Tony's has earned the right in the community to remain exactly the way they are. Now I've only been here one time, and that one time meant allot. Especially for someone who is as picky as I am. Tony's got me on one of those nights where I needed a rescue. I visited Tony's on the night of Cinco de Mayo. I've never been out on that day before so decided to go out and see what the celebration were all about. Boy was I disappointed on the Mexican restaurant that I selected but that's a different review (Tio Chu Cho). Afterwards, I decided to go on an adventure to find a new spot to just have a few drinks before heading home. I thought of Tony's as I always passed it by, but never stopped yet hoped it was a non smoking bar. Well... It's not.. And that's the only thing stopping me from giving it 5 stars. (I could never give 5 stars to any place the allows smoking. Just me.)The service we received at Tony's by Brian the bartender was superb. I had about 6 Jack and Cokes and all 6 were made exactly the same, in the larger glasses and only 6 bucks. I was in Jack Daniels paradise. Brian was consistent and had that "hell yeah I'm a bartender and proud of it" personality. Awesome! To add to that excellent service, the music that was being played was nothing short of flawless. I mean I felt right at home. The DJ was kicking out some classic rock tunes as well as some excellent 90's rock. I'm talking music ranging from Aerosmith, Pink Floyd, Disturbed, Counting Crows, Seether, Bon Jovi and all the likes. It....was....awesome!!!Despite this being a bar that allows as much smoking as one can ever stand, they make up for it in customer service and music. This spot completely saved my Cinco de Mayo disaster night and officially have a brand new customer. Oh, they do not serve food, but they are directly next to a spot that I visited before stopping in that makes some very tasting Mexican food. ( Viva Jalisco Taqueria) I will be reviewing them soon. Burp well...and prosper!"
"What is not to like about here? It's a neighborhood bar where you have a variety of people coming in and enjoying the brew and atmosphere. During crawfish season on Sunday's you can enjoy their $20 all you can eat so the next time around you'll want to bookmark this place and try it. It's a little dark in here but enough lighting to see who you might bump into, the people are friendly, the staff and owners are friendlier and the prices on the drinks are friendlinest. Parking shouldn't be a problem here even though it shares a parking lot with multiple businesses, least I've never had a problem on the Sundays I've visited. There is a little patio towards the back where you can mingle and smoke with your partners. Have a nice day!"

ProsAmbienceHookah VarietyMusic SelectionConsAsthma RiskPatron MixtureRisk The Hookah lounge was comfortable however I'm not a big hookah smoker because it makes me dizzy after a while. This night I went with one of my close sorority sisters and ended up smoking hookah with her. This location was dark and very easy on the eyes. It showcased a heavy middle eastern influence since hookah is heavy there. The variety of options are given in a menu style and allow you to pick whatever fits your needs at the time. You are also able to freely smoke as long as you would like with the occasional waiter coming to replace the coals on your hookah. They also hire their DJs every night, so the music can change and control the mood depending on what is played. The do played a variety of music from hip hop to r&b and pop, there was no shortage on the tunes just know that they will change. The downside of this place is the smoke, if you're asthmatic or have trouble seeing this place might pose a couple of risk to you. You might have trouble breathing or being able to see the ground as you walk into the puff clouds of other patrons. There is also a mixture of patrons, some there to enjoy themselves and others to have parties and fun, if you're set on a flat consistent vibe then this may not be a place, there was someone on a couch enjoying their entire life while we were there, luckily we didn't care how they did anything it didn't interfere with us. Risk was also a major thing to be mindful of, the coals can be extremely hot and give damaging burns, people can also get sick from the hookah so be careful of the health risk and also use caution around the hookah to avoid coals! Overall a good place, if you're in Houston definitely stop by and have a good time.

Not a bad little spot to go hang out and enjoy hookah if that's your thing! The crowd is a little older but very chill and laid back ... the music is a little bit ol skool and new skool and the DJ was fantastic. Drinks are are on avg. about $10 and the bartender and owner are super chill! Would def go backd

This place brings me back to my youth when things weren't so commercial and fancy. The people are real, the prices are low and there are some sports fans that can quote chapter and verse.

Ok I love this place! 21+ only. Great sports bar, soooo many tvs. Love the outdoor space. I ordered a drink at the bar and then went to go sit outside. My drink was fine. There's plenty of heaters around. A food truck too. Tons of parking!

No smoking--what a relief! That made me happy. The place is very clean, almost surgically sterile. New, nice, but very plain. Neutral. Nondescript. There are wall-to-wall flatscreen TVs, so you won't miss your game! A little too bland & personality-less for me, but a definite improvement over the smokey, cluttered-with-signs-&-knick-knacks icehouses we've been going to until now. Great bartender: excellent service!Prices were a little steep. We racked up quite a bill. But the beer was cold & good, & the service was 100% positive & professional (apart from his continuing to serve already-drunk people). The kitchen was closed when we got there (it stops at 10 or 11, I think he said), so we will be back sometime soon to try their food. My night would've been more relaxing had the bartender cut off the yelling, erratically-behaving man who appeared to be drunk & just this side of 21. (There were just 10 people in the bar, & he and his date were right across the bar from us, so they were hard to ignore.) Refusing to serve drunk patrons must be hard, with so few customers there to begin with, and the bartender relying on tips to make a living; the intoxicated person could become belligerent which is extra-awkward. But to let them keep drinking and raising Cain until Last Call makes other patrons uncomfortable and tense. I worry how they're getting home. Hopefully not driving!

Tried the raw and chargrilled oysters. Both were TINY!!!! flavor of the chargrilled was below avg. The raw oysters did not look too fresh so I only ate half. They did allow you to order happy hour and take to go though so that was nice. Final grade: CProbably won't be back for a while

I'm glad we finally decided to check this place out. It has a lot of choices of what to do. It has a good selection of the drink choices. Currently on weekends they have crawfish from Krazy Krawfish which are great. However, during the week when they don't it was a disappointment. They told us the kitchen would open sometime which mind you when we asked it was already 7pm. The little dog run isn't bad. It doesn't have a really locking gate though which allowed dogs to pop out. The dogs for the most part randomly wonder which I don't mind. But some might. Also there seems to be a lot of regulars. take it as you will. I was rather annoyed when multiple people who came up to the bar after me got service before I did any since she knew them.

She even gave us recommendations on the food and drinks, it was REALLY good! The DJ played great music, the environment was really chill.. definitely a nice vibe! Everyone at my table had a good time! 10/10 recommend trying this spot. Make sure to ask for Ladonna ! We absolutely loved her!"
"A colleague told me about this place and I'm glad we stopped in. I've never even heard of Walkons, but let me tell you what it's really good. The customer service is great and the food is fantastic.Food: I went with the wings. Eight piece wings was great for lunch. They are called Jumbo wings and yes, they're quite large. I think next time I'll tell them extra crispy, but other than that they were simply amazing. The flavor was great. The chicken wings were big. The sauce was great. I'll definitely get Wings here again no doubt about it. Also the chicken and sausage gumbo was simply amazing. I was very happy with the dish. How can I forget, the appetizer. The Boudain balls were so damn good. The spice and the flavor from the Boudin balls was probably my favorite. The customer service was great. You had several waitresses all checking on you at all times. They have better customer service and them steakhouses I've been to. The customer service here is top notch.I'll definitely come back soon."
"This is a very new location. Had only been open 1 day before my visit. This makes their 3rd location in the Houston area. Me an a few friends gave here in Sunday after the Saints game. There was a nice crowd and there was a DJ also. We tried several of their wings and they were pretty good. They are known for their daiquiris and they did not disappoint. It seems they only had @6 flavors to try but I expect them to expand that. There area also several flat screen tv's in both walks and there were a couple of different games on. It's in a area next to the movie theater so there is ample parking. I plan on revisiting after they expand their selection of daiquiri flavors."
"Came here on Sunday to watch the Houston Texans game that night when I got home I noticed the Bartender had charged me twice for the same tab I waited for it to clear my bank and yet sure enough they charged me twice for the same tab. I came in and spoke to the owners on Tuesday they clearly noticed that I should've only been charged once after keeping me there for a couple of hours as they went through all the tickets and receipts from Sunday, they only found 1 ticket yet they said I would have to wait 2 to 3 more days for them to investigate what's there to investigate they already realize they overcharge me! I definitely do not recommend this place at all!!!"
"Great band. The decor has not changed since it was Skinny's. The bar service seems to be lacking service and liqour. However if appears to be a great neighborhood spot, if you want to get out the house and not travel a long distance this is the place for now."
"Johnnie Bleu is about to be Houston's next big hit! I've been twice now. Once for amapiano night and once for a Black Employee group mixer for my company. The food is delicious especially the wings and fresh sushi. The music is great for all genres of the African diaspora and the bartenders are super cool. Last night we met the owner Pierre and he is such a cool and welcoming person!! I look forward to being a frequent flyer of this place and also ordering those wings on doordash when I can't make it in person"
"Nice little spot to go for a quick drink after work! Friendly bar tender, and great prices. I'll be back after a long day of work."
"One night, we decided to bar hop. And we ended up stopping by this place, It was amazing. The staff is so wattentive and nice. The environment was welcoming. I would definitely be stopping by there again. It also helped having 2 food trucks in the parking lot."
"I met a few friends here on Saturday nite. This was my first visit and they did not disappoint. There is ample parking behind the building. I sat inside for a minute as we were watching the game. I had a few old fashions and they were fixed well. They have a food truck on site and although I didn't order, one if my friends did. I tried there shrimp and fish plate and it was very good. Inside there are two very large screens in either side and of the bar and many other around the walls. I eventually retired to their very large and comfortable patio. There were also large screen TVs outside and very comfortable seating. I throughly enjoyed my visit and I will return in the future for football games in Sundays."
"Great place! Yummy chili cheese dog and relaxed vibe. Yea it's Smoky but it's a bar what do you expect? Friendly service and fun menu I'll be back."
"I have been waiting to try this spot for some time! I was super excited to finally make it. We were greeted by our friendly waitress, where she served our drinks in a matter of minutes. Surrounded by helmets and jerseys, this sports themed bar is definitely a great place to kick back and enjoy a good game. While this bar is small, the experience was memorable! We ordered the queso, 6 wings (cajun rub and gajuchang), and chili dog with fries. What a great cheat meal! The fries were fresh along with their wings. Super crispy and seasoned to perfection. Their Chili Dog was MASSIVE. I'm so glad this place is right down the street! Until next time, Koozies."
"I wouldn't say that the wings here ever Brew me away, maybe Pluckers did but not here. However they're at least 275 times better than Buffalo Wild Wings - trust me.The service here was nice, the wings were pretty hot (but we'd still like them more sizzling right out of the fryer). By Houston standards I can give just about 4 stars. If this was Buffalo they'd be 2 star wings - problem is I lived in Buffalo for decades.Luckily then, they're in Houston. And a local chain, with plenty of other spots too, some of them not as tasty as this one."
"Apparently they're moving locations at the end of October to a new spot a mile away. We love this little neighborhood bar and grill. Friendly crowd, wonderful bar staff, and good prices. This is where you want to go to relax and enjoy a drink. Food is basic bar fare but all very good- and super cheap. Hoping the new location keeps the same great staff and bar regulars because this place is a gem."
"Can get a better steak dinner in HOU! The employees are always tentative and check in often. They know their regulars and take care of them. My lil secret spot."
"Okay Racks is under new management and a new name called The Station. So this is the 3rd attempt to improve upon what was the Rock House. After hearing the great news that Racks is no more, we couldn't wait to drop by and check out the new place in hopes that it was much much better than Racks and hopefully closer to how Rock House use to be. So we get there at 10:10 PM and walked up to a sign that said Now Open. Only to find that the doors were locked. Hmm. We saw people moving around and after standing at the door for 5 minutes decided to leave. Just then a worker walks out and says they are open. We said no the door is locked. So he turns around to pull on the door he just closed and.... Yep...locked. He says I though we were open. So the new owner then comes to the door and tells us they are closed. I said well is this because of reconstruction or something, is it permanently going to close at 10 every night? He said it's going to permanently be closed at 10 every night. I said well, including weekends? He says.. (and this is the good part).. YES. Okay, what sports bar closes at 10?! Sigh. Again I had high hopes in hoping a great location and great spot for Karaoke was about to be put back on the map so I can invite a bunch of my group members to hang out on Saturdays and now... this :( . No way I can have a party of any kind for adults to a place that is going to kick us out at 10. In Houston people don't go out TILL 10. So... this is 1 star before I even get a chance to try the spot. I give it a year and if they don't change those hours quick, they won't make it that long in this market."
"I've been pretty satisfied with my food quality at Buffalo Wild Wings, the last few times I've been. This last visit was on a Thursday. Flavors I ordered were Asian zing, Caribbean jerk, Nashville hot, and mango habanero. All the flavors were pretty unique. Mango habanero had a nice tingling feeling. Although it's classified as level four I think It should be level five. The Nashville hot was also pretty good. Asian zing was also very flavorful and so was the Caribbean jerk. I've also tried their level five spice wings which are considered the hottest. They have desert heat and Carolina reaper. They do have specials on Tuesday nights where bone in wings are buy one get one and on Thursday nights the special is for boneless wings, buy one get gone.Last but not least, you should join the reward program to earn enough points to redeem for food later"
"Super duper smoky in here-like walk in for 2 minutes and come out with your clothing and hair reeking of cigarettes. If it were non-smoking-we would love to hang out here, especially since it's so close to home. Since it's not, we won't be back-smoke is just too gross here. Service was friendly, food was good, all of it overpowered by smoke so thick that your eyes burn."
"Great hangout with fields for kickball and sand nets for volleyball. I came here to have a meeting. There's inside and outside service. There's even fire tables to keep you warm. Phoebe came over with a smile and offered us great, friendly service. We were close to the volleyball area and moved to her section. She brought us drinks and made sure our rims were filled the entire time. She told us about the crawfish special on Mondays so we went for it. It was really good! The sauce was so tasty! I wish the crawdads were just a little bigger but they did not disappoint at all. I met the manager Lex who was super cool and intend to come back for crawfish another time! Hopefully Phoebe is there! Oh, and it's a family spot, there were plenty of kids early in the day."
"This casual seafood restaurant has been around for about 15 years now. It's located on Jones Road and has plenty of parking room out front. Inside it is rather plain decor wise with some tables and booths and does offer table service.Recently I have dined twice. The first visit was for a shrimp po boy for $9.95 and it took about 10 minutes to arrive along with french fries. I enjoyed this meal and while the fries were not homemade they were hot and seasoned. The po boy had several nice sized fried shrimp in it along with being dressed on a good bun. It was very good taste wise and I will order this again. Also, on another visit I had the chefs special of blackened red fish with étouffée on top. It came with roasted potatoes, white rice and some garlic bread for $16.95. The fish filet was generous in size and along with the étouffée and sides tasted very good and was a filling meal. During both meals table service was good.I like this restaurant. Nothing fancy here at all but it does serves good tasting seafood meals at very reasonable prices."
"The food is unrealistically delicious. That's all that's needs to be said but I'll attach photos too !!!"
"If you are a cigar smoker then this is the place to be. The location is a bit small not much room to move around in. As soon as you walk in you are met with the bar in front of you. To the right is a stage for karaoke and to the left is where they have the cigar storage and a back room. Now, I must say if you are like me and don't care for the heavy smoke from the cigars this isn't the place for you. The ventilation system sucks! No air in no air out. It was definitely hard for me to breathe in there. As for the food, don't even try it. I ordered their lemon pepper wings, and oh my god! I felt like I was eating salt and a dried out chicken wing. I do not recommend their food unless you are drunk and extremely hungry. The service was okay, nothing to write home about. I wouldn't revisit this place. However, if you are looking for something laid back and you've already eaten them sure, try this spot. Your experience maybe different from mine."
