Tokyo Joe's Shot Bar

If you are looking for a different experience on 20th street, look no more. Tokyo Joe's is a very different bar. I do have to warn you, it feels very small, but the place is very fun inside. It has arcades upstairs (just a handfull of games), a automatronic dragon head on one side of the room and I remember they had a ping pong table there one time with above average size beer pong game (which honestly got a bit chaotic). The drinks are above average and the price is fair.

One night, we decided to bar hop. And we ended up stopping by this place, It was amazing. The staff is so wattentive and nice. The environment was welcoming. I would definitely be stopping by there again. It also helped having 2 food trucks in the parking lot.

Went at 930 pm, nobody was in there, yet the bartenders took 10 minutes to get to me I asked for a tequila soda, poured me Casamigos, okay like I didn't ask for a $15 drink but whatever. Music was good, we were vibin. Then I see all the male bartenders took their shirts off. Like ok this isn't Chippendales. I was out after that. Idk maybe I'm too old for this sh*t. Would not return!!!

It was a good time BUT they freaking wrote their own tip on my receipt!! I ordered 7 shots and after I got done handing them out to my fiends, the booklet was gone with my debit card and receipt. Luckily I opened a booklet nearby and my card was in there (no receipt) Anyways, the statement was pending at $83 and then it processed at $99Definitely make sure to ask for your receipt.

this place is super grimy and has some weird obsession with dildos.My guess is that they're going for the "sex sells" approach.But with the funky smell of the place you've got to wonder where all the dildos they're passing around have been.tldr bartenders are waiving around used dildos and this place smells like used dildos.

Really fun place to hangout at. It has a high energy atmosphere with attentive staff. Had a great time the entire time I was there.

This bar was pretty fun! Me and my friends went on a Friday night around 11:30 ish. The bar was busy when we got there but started to clear out as the night went on.I didn't have any drinks but I was told they were really good. The premise of the bar was cool, but it was a little bit small.

This is a high energy cocktail bar with limited, mainstream beers. The decor here is trippy and most of the action occurs after 11pm. Parking lot is tiny and you won't find a spot unless you come early. The bar is nice and big but you won't find a seat if it's late into the night. There is a bouncer on weekends so common sense attire is required. It's only been open a few months, they told me the local residents complain a lot about noise so they are likely giving bad reviews online. My only complaint was the $16.6 average cost of a drink here based on my tab. This is somewhere you go with friends to close the night out.

Tokyo Joe's was a random find for us on a Saturday night. My friends and I frequent the area alot and checked this spot out out of curiosity. First impressions was it smelled funky and looked dirty to me. The night we came, it was pretty packed, Floors were wet. Napkins all over the place. A couple of us broke off and went upstairs which was a little more chill. There were games up there with some seating and a great view to people watch. Once I started observing, the napkins are thrown by the bartenders. Seems wasteful but it hyped the crowd up. Music was good and the crowd was dancing. Drinks were spendy considering there are nicer bars in the area. Overall, this wasn't a horrible spot, but I would only return if invited.

I don't usually like to post negative but one is necessary. People be aware! This place is atrocious! Went in with a group of people and safe to say none of us will ever return. The staff is beyond flirtatious and one of the owners who was there was shit faced and acting beyond inappropriate. The crowd is sketchy. Overall, I have been to many bars and clubs in Houston and have never felt uncomfortable - this place made me feel unsafe. My neighborhood bar makes better shots than what you get here. One of the bartenders literally licked her finger clean and continued to make our drinks. Complete disappointment!!!!
