Great concept but the entrance cost coupled with the cramped space and overpriced food.. I'll pass

The kids and I stopped in for a dinner and weren't disappointed. I had the catfish basket, the kids and I shared 15th s of crawfish, 2lbs of boiled shrimp, a 12 piece chicken wing and fries, and my son had a cheeseburger basket. The food was really tasty and came out hot. We were able to dine in and get a feel for the restaurant; no problems. The wait staff were extremely relatable and friendly, attentive to the needs of the table, removed trash as needed, and kept the drinks refilled without me asking. We finished the dinner and left. Will def I give them more of our business very soon. Peace and blessings.

I ordered via Uber eats and I wish that I could blame them for this poor quality food. There were only 3 oxtails in my order and it looks nothing like the ones posted on yelp by the restaurant themselves. The Mac and cheese looks and taste like they ran out of cheese. There's so much cinnamon in the yams I can barely taste the yams. The oxtails are salty. I'm just Upset I'm stuck with this for dinner.

Found this place on Uber Eats. Was listed under Soul Food. Lemme tell you, this place has food that's gooooooooood for the soul! Had the wings, burger platter, baked chicken, and pork chops so far and I haven't had a single complaint with any of it. Love the food and the value is better than most places. I hope to visit this place in person soon to tell them how excellent their food is. Many compliments folks!!

Great band. The decor has not changed since it was Skinny's. The bar service seems to be lacking service and liqour. However if appears to be a great neighborhood spot, if you want to get out the house and not travel a long distance this is the place for now.

This was the only late night soul food option on UberEats so I ordered for pickup. Locating this business is pretty easy. It's on the bright red shopping center on WLY at the end, well lit and has signs outside. Plenty of parking. I definitely didn't expect the inside to look so basic or be so dark however there was a DJ in the corner, a stage and lots of hookahs on the shelf. Maybe Sunday night isn't busy for them. There was literally only one other customer at the bar. Not an employee in sight. I sat down, chatted and waited then another pickup customer came inside. About 5 minutes later a friendly guy came out. He confirmed my order and went to the back. Shortly after a pretty young lady came out to bring my order and I left. Once I got home and looked at my oxtails I was annoyed. Literally no gravy on my oxtails and rice when I specifically asked for extra in my order. None the less the oxtails tasted good. They were tender and seasoned well but a little dry because of the missing gravy. The mac 'n cheese taste straight out the box which I'm use to because I have a toddler but for goodness sake they could have put some butter or onion /garlic powder in it. Something! That cabbage was so peppery and borderline offensive. Why anyone would put that much fresh cracked black pepper in cabbage is a mystery to me. Fix that right neooow. I tasted my husband meatloaf and I personally liked it a lot. Had instant regret for ordering oxtails. It was seasoned well and the portion was huge. I asked my husband how he felt about his food and he said the meatloaf was bomb but everything else was over seasoned. He said there was too much vinegar or pepper sauce in the greens and the black pepper in the cabbage was outrageous. Mind you I season well in my home and he's NEVER said that. I was shocked. With that said, I would consider visiting this business again for a local chill spot. Maybe just drinks and hookah or if they had a band performing on the stage. I would not go back here to dine in, unless they addressed all of the issues mentioned above.3 Stars... for now..

Not only did it take 42 mins to receive my food when I get it its old and clearly reheated. This food was so bad I literally tossed it in the trash without a second thought. I will never eat here or recommend this place to anyone. NEVER EAT HERE!!!! Seriously
