"Great juicy burgers and flavorful chicken over rice. Nice and clean establishment that serves halal. Great atmosphere for dine in and greater food for takeout. Owner & management go above and beyond to cater to customers tastes. Highly recommend!"
"Howdy you make everything better when you feel like crap? You come here!I wanted pretty badly to like Howdy Hot Chicken, and in some ways I do like it, and I think it's one of the better hot chicken places I've been to outside Tennessee, but their hot is a little too hot in an uncomfortable way but not a tasty way. That's weird for me to say, I have everything far more spicy than 99% of people can handle, trust me (it's Barbi's influence mainly). Also the sauces are a little too sweet for me. And don't get me started on the prices, although the large portions of chicken are pretty nice. But making the sandwiches sugary is something that the massive expansion of hot chicken places by hipsters has done, and I don't appreciate it.I want this stuff, but I need to have this stuff in Tennessee, and so do you, to see what it's supposed to taste like. Hattie Be's for example. It was never sweet and it shouldn't be sweet. I don't know why everyone has to corrupt and pollute the recipe of traditional stuff around the country with massive doses of high fructose corn syrup.Other than that it's very tasty sandwich, good quality chicken, piping hot, and large and filling, although service at this location was not very nice to me at all, and the prices are pretty high.A four star chain with some one star employees constantly messing up very expensive sandwiches, hence the 3 stars. The Shepherd location is much more reliable."

"Ever since moving closer to Champions masjid area, we hardly get to go to the masjid al Mustafa area but BBQ Village has been on my radar for so long that I can't even remember. Fast forward to tonight and I had a craving for BBQ but Bundu Khan wasn't open so I went on Uber and thankfully they deliver to Cypress. And I am so glad that I paid all the premiums for service and delivery fee because it was worth every penny! Here is all the food that I ordered:1. Beef gola kabab.2. Chicken tikka - leg quarters and breast.3. Chicken malai boti - chunks.4. Beef seekh kabab.5. Fried parathay6. NaanThe gola kabab was seasoned to perfection. The smoky flavor was coming in every bite. And when you paired it with the paratha it just all made the absolute bite from your dreams of Pakistan. The chicken tikka was my second favorite item from the list of things that we ordered. As were the parathay. Beef seekh kabab were good but a little cold by the time the food was delivered. Not sure if they tasted a little dry because of the temperature or if it was because of the meat. The naan was very soggy but I think that was also because of the packaging and delivery time. We ended up putting it in the toaster oven and it tasted great after that but because we were waiting for it to heat up the malai boti got a little cold. I guess I should have ordered more than 2 parathas because everything tasted great with them. Because these things were caused due to the delayed delivery timing, I am rounding the review up to five stars as everything was seasoned and cooked to perfect temperature.I can't wait to actually go eat there in person. I hear that they have a Thursday night buffet which is also a very good deal in town. If you read my reviews, one of my favorite things to say is #cameraeatsfirst. Well, the food smelled so good tonight that I ravenously opened up all the packaging and unfortunately camera did not get to eat first tonight. And just like that all the food was gone."
"The first time I ate here was in 2021 and my experience in 2024 was even better than the last time. I didn't realize how much I loved Indian cuisine until trying Musaafer. The service was great. Our server recommended a red wine that was really good called Archimedes. It was perfect and went down very smooth and although it was a Cabernet Sauvignon, it was still a little sweet and not dry. I was impressed by this. I started off with the lamb chop appetizer. Wow! I was lost for words once it hit my taste buds. I'm used to smoked/grilled lamb chops but Musaafer's lamb chops had a curry flavor and the meat (that marinated for 72 hours) was falling off the bone style tender. It was amazing!Next, I ordered the Dum Ki Ribs with onion & cumin rice + balchao potatoes. My guest had the beef vindaloo and a premium beer that I can't recall the name of. Our bill came out to $400+ but it was only because the bottle of wine was about $200. The prices are not over the top considering the food and service is exceptional. The Indian art aesthetics are amazing and the ambiance has a modern, trendy, golden palace vibe to it. The bathroom and entry is wheelchair accessible. This place is a must visit. There is something on the menu for everyone as they also serve organic, vegan and vegetarian dish options available. They have self parking and valet service and it is inside of the Galleria across from Nobu."
"My exes don't call me an ex boyfriend. They call me the "doner." More specifically the Sperm Doner. But that's beside the point. What to get: Doner Kebab, duhhhhWhat to do next: Become an organ DonerDo disco singers eat here?: Doner Summer doesWhat about Britney Spears?: Idk, but if you find out, Doner let me be the last to knowInside info: The Gyro and Doner are actually the same (shouldn't be, one is Greek, one is Turkish, this is honestly closer to neither lol), but dressed up differently (like Barbi when not at work). So you know the songs "Gyro" (as in, I can be your Gyro, baby), by Tzatziki Iglesias, as well as "(We Could Be) Gyros" by David Bowie, "My Hero" by the Food Fighters, "(And Then A) Gyro (Comes Along)" by Marinade Carry-out, and the song "Gyro" by those wizards of haunting, moving music - Nickelback - and the very controversial, outspoken "We Don't Need Another Gyro" (um, yes we do) by Pita Turner. Not to mention "Working Class Gyro" by John Lemon-potatoes and the even more poignant, meaningful protest song "Gyros In A Half-Pita" by the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.Well, they actually weren't about this Gyro place. Sorry. We really wanted to love this place but we really didn't. The decor is amazing and the prices are okay (just okay), and the service is okay depending on which day you come here. But really the main thing that we do ratings on is the food, the taste, the enjoyment of the meal itself, and we have very high standards when it comes to Gyros, probably from my time in Milwaukee, Chicago (the birthplace of the US Gyro), NYC and Toronto (the best places to find Greek style Gyros), and places like Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania and so on... and even if we didn't have high standards, this wouldn't have been our favourite. They have Doner and Gyros as the name of the business, which doesn't suggest that they really both the same thing, but when you taste them, they are. Neither one tastes so much like the delicious Chicago Greek inspired street food, although that's what they're a fuzzy facsimile of. Neither one tastes like real Greek Gyros either, obvi.Neither one really tastes like the Turkish Doner either. If anything they takes a lot like Halal Guys, and that's basically what you'll be getting here. Between the two I would prefer Halal Guys, not by too much, but I was hoping for something a little bit more refined. In a way, Halal Guys has ruined the fast food Gyro, and finding an actual Gyro has become difficult.I've doner lot of things in my life, and one of them is to eat here at Doner & Gyros, and I may do so again. Maybe. So if this was in Europe, it'd be Doner & Euros. Whereas if you were only allowed to visit it once in your life, it'd be Doner & YOLO.Now, I'll let Bonnie Tyler close out the review.I need a Gyro!I'm holding out for a Gyro in the Sugar Land night! It's gotta be hot and it's gotta be big and you've gotta give me the first bite...I need a Gyro!"
"My husband surprised me to a trip to Muse for a Saturday date night and I'm so glad that we found this hookah lounge! It's super clean, the flavors we got were amazing (strawberry and mango), and the staff was super attentive. The store is super clean and has cute and tasty mock tails and have food available to order as well. Our server Denise was amazing and made our experience here so much better."
"Yum. Due to the quarantine I've been experimenting with restaurants on Grub Hub. This is one restaurant that I believe offered either a $5.00 coupon perk or free delivery. I got the chicken biryani and was pleasantly surprised. Not only was it extremely tasty but it came with a side salad and plenty of sauces. The portion was HUGE. For $8.99 I got enough food for 3 Meals. They were also very generous with the pieces of meat. Overall, will be ordering from here again."
"A wonderful place to eat. For me, it was an adventure learning about a new culture and enjoying their delicious food. Everyone in the shop was so gracious and helpful, from Razwan who cooked us a great meal to the Shayma, the manager of the grocery store who we had the pleasure of visiting with. We ate daal with rice and goat biranhi. It was all seasoned perfectly and the goat was tender! The selection of halal meat in the grocery store was varied and looked good, too."
"After seeing how popular the Westchase location (#1) is, I had high hopes for the second opening of Las Brasas along Bellaire just outside of Hillcroft. I've been missing my weekly Peruvian jaunts in NYC so this was as highly anticipated for me as anything. The place is clean and feels like an ideal spot for a casual meal. It looked and smells new, with brightness from the natural light, with plenty of rotisserie chickens spinning in the background. So far, everything is looking good.I ordered their claim to fame, a half pollo a la brasa, and was ready my food notalgia to kick in. My chicken, while juicy and tender, was a salt bomb. I tried coating it in the aji sauce and mixing it with the rice in hopes of enjoying it. Strangely, aji makes *everything* better (#2) but this wasn't the resolution. The fries were crispy, but the let down was real. I chalked it up to new establishment jitters. My next go-around included much more variety: chaufa chicken fried rice, a whole chicken, lomo saltado (#3), tallarin verde, ceviche, tallarin saltado, and even their anticucho kebab. Minus the chicken, which was mildly better this time, most things were bland. For the tallarin verde with bistec, I was kind of blown away at how much gristle and how tough the meat was. Once again, I drowned my chicken in their huacatay (aji verde) and it didn't make much of a difference. The lomo saltado was also mad salty and the ceviche had plenty of citrus, but was still disappointing given the price. Even the cilantro rice was dry. The food is 2 stars at best, but I'll give them 3 because the customer service, initial deals, and store location was a thumbs up.Before I could give it another shot, they went ahead and closed, albeit temporarily. I am not sure if they're going to reopen, but I hope they do. I'm not done with satisfying this Peruvian craving palate.___________(#1) https://www.yelp.com/biz/las-brasas-charcoal-chicken-houston-2(#2) Without a doubt, if done properly, aji verde is one of the world's greatest sauces.(#3) The national dish of Peru and the name of my future pet."
"I had such high expectations but overall it was pretty underwhelming. The food itself was not bad but just ok. I got the lamb over rice and removed the onions and tomatoes. It ended up being just rice, lettuce and cucumbers with the lamb and it was just so simple compared to other bowls I've had at other restaurants. They do give a good portion of meat which I appreciated. Also disappointing was the hot sauce. It tasted just like franks hot sauce. Nothing unique. I haven't tried anything and maybe other options would be better."

Chicken lunch, chicken dinner, chicken winner winner! With so many hot chicken places popping up around Houston, it's easy to see why this craze has landed even in the burbs now. After perusing the menu, the meal with the most bang for your buck seemed to be the chicken tender basket. For $9.99, you get two large pieces of tender, waffle fries, toast, pickles and howdy sauce. I ordered my chicken mild and it was the perfect spice for a non-spicy person like me. The chicken was extremely juicy and hot, fried fresh on the spot. The dry hot rub was a perfect complement to the tender. The waffle fries were lightly salted and the toast was buttered to perfection. With plenty of hot chicken places to choose from, Howdy's is definitely on the list of places to go.

Bar BQ Village Halal Pakistani Restaurant 9stars out of 10 Restaurant Name @bbqvillagehouston Stopped by to try this restaurant that i had not been to since march of 2021 during their thurs buffet. They made some significant improvements and here is my review. I got their super savor combo deal that comes with beef bihari, chicken boti, chicken/beef seekh kabob and a tikka leg, it comes with 2 naan but i swapped out for one puri paratha. the combo value is great for 15 dollars you get all of this BBQ compared to another place that is well known where just getting 1 seekh kabob and a paratha will run you more.My rating on the food. The star of the show the beef bihari was amazing. the best melt in your mouth bihari i had ! the masala and texture of the beef was perfect. the trip here is worth it just because of the bihari .the raita and tamarind chutney are great slightly thick not watery and very tasty .the puri paratha was a perfect flakiness and delicious .the chicken boti was delicious perfectly cooked and marinated . the chicken seekh kabob was delicious as well and great taste. the beef kabob was decently good.the chicken tikka leg was decent. i think it needs to be marinated longer to soak up the goodness. i seen another restaurant give it some good stabs and they lather it up with spices and have it hanging in the fridge for hours before cooking, perhaps that is the magic touch . for dessert they had matka kulfi and regular kulfi. fresh and delicious .they have the most affordable prices on dine in BBQ and they have a buffet thursday. My ala carte experience was good and i hope to try their buffet again after all the changes they made. value 10/10customer service 8.5/10taste 8.5/10#halalhouston #houstonhalal #houstonfood #houstonfoodie #houstonfoodies#asianfood#halalfood#megustahalal #karachi#desifood#pakistanfood#pakistanifood#bbq#desibbq#paratha#chickentikka

Amazing, over the top Indian food. Not your regular Indian restaurant but classy place. Different types of dishes very well presented and with different gravies (curries) with subtle flavors that make you instantly want to go back. Perfect portions as well. A must go. Was told by my Indian business associate that the bar also has your common cocktails that are additionally infused with Indian spices. My Asian peers also enjoyed as all was easily a 5 star or more. Staff was attentive to all our needs and highly professional. Well over the top here.

I have been hesitant to try this place due to mixed reviews, but my brother & his wife liked it so I decided to give it a try. Pretty good food (maybe not the "best"), but I'm no gyro connoisseur. Large portions even though it's not "cheap," so we had leftovers. We ordered for pickup, and I'm glad they didn't cheap out. I'd return since it's near the house. Beef kofta kebab platter $13.99 - comes with seasoned rice, salad, hummus, pita bread, garlic sauce. This was pretty good. The kebabs weren't the juiciest, but they were decent and tasty. Came with plenty of rice, the bf and I shared it. Rice was cooked well. Salad dressing, hummus, & garlic sauce were good. Came with 4 triangles of pita bread so we shared, which I think is more than what other places give you. Lamb & beef mix bowl (get bowl'd over) $11.24 - got yellow seasoned basmati rice, 5 toppings (tomatoes, garbanzo beans, mix peppers [red & green bell peppers], German cabbage, pickles), 2 sauces (tzatziki, garlic). Plenty of food and toppings. The lamb/beef was good. Recommend the garlic sauce.

The inside of this hookah lounge is very chic. They have a few chairs and tables outside. They play music as well and they have a pretty decent happy hour.

This place is 10/10. It's a small, family owned shop & you can tell how much love & care they put into their food. Their naans are piping hot from their tandoor, their biryani, chicken charga, you name it. I haven't had something from here that has ever been bad. My personal favorite is their chicken kofte. It's seriously so good, I thought they gave me beef kofte instead. Treat yourselves. Go here.

"Food is great and made with care but service can be made better. So far the tandoori wings, mixed over rice, chicken over rice, gyro over rice, falafel over rice all were great! The owner is constantly working on making this a better experience."
"Got a small chicken platter ($9 something) and regular combo platter ($10 something). Preferred the beef (more flavor) over chicken. Decent amount of protein for the price, and the small was filling for me. White sauce is very good but high in calories for those health conscious folks. The red sauce is quite spicy. I still like Gyro Hut better (their chicken has more flavor), but Halal Guys is also good."
"The food here is amazing!!! The NY platter, the Gyro Wrap, the Heros Burger, and the Tender Sandwich are my favorites there!!! Looking forward to more next time!!!"
"Jerusalem Halal Meats is one of the oldest halal markets in Houston and where so many of my childhood memories begin. If you follow a halal diet and are adventurous in your kitchen at home, then this place is a staple in your repertoire of ingredient sources. For those not in the know, when compared to other stores like HEB or Krogers, Jerusalem is an unorganized mess. The aisles are narrow and the shelves are filled high to the sky. Yes, there are signs letting you know what's generally in the aisles; however, they're more like suggestions. There's a small produce section next to the olive and oil aisle. Yes, a full aisle dedicated to deliciousness. And trust me when I say to peruse the produce section. It's small but has random fruits and veggies like sweet lemon. Yes, that's a thing. No, they don't taste like oranges. The chaotic good continues with aisles that are only open on one end- like their beauty products. An assortment of soaps and lotions towards the front. Head to the back and you think there are going to be more products, but surprise! It's a small prayer hall set up with prayer mats facing Mecca. Then there's a restaurant in the back right corner. Get the chicken shawarma with everything on it, thank me later. The crown jewel of this establishment is the deli in the back. Their meat is delivered three days a week, so you're getting the freshest product sans going to a farm. It's clean and the workers typically fill your order quickly. Bring a sweater, because it's frigid in there. Just outside the deli are a couple of freezers with prepackaged meats that people typically order- think different ground meats, chicken breasts, and the like. They also have products like pepperoni, salami, and bacon. I haven't seen some of these products in the other halal markets in town **major disclaimer** none of the workers on the floor or in the deli are super fluent in English. The guys in the back who butcher the meat understand enough to fill your order, just don't expect a lot of small talk. They even know what cuts you need for certain South Asian dishes like Nihari. Head to the front counter if you can't find something. This is a family owned and operated establishment and they're all great about telling you where everything is and when it'll be in if they're out. If you have some spare time and want to try some new ingredients or aren't sure where to get a certain middle eastern ingredient, try Jerusalem. You never know what will inspire you there."
"I was looking for a new pakistani restaurant in the Houston area and found this one on my way back home. Although the area and the interior of this restaurant is no frills, dont let that fool you. The food is pretty good and was not nearly as spicy as I was originally thinking it may be.I tried the beef nihari, which is the first entree on the back side of the menu, also the goat curry, and butter chicken. I also added garlic naan. Soft drinks are in a can or bottle, as they do not have a soda fountain here.Beef nihari - this was like a stewed pot roast. It is cooked with fat and sits in a lot of oil. I am thinking you receive about 1/4 lb of meat, if that in the dish. I likes the slivers of ginger in this.Goat curry - this also has slivers of ginger and to me it seemed a bit spicier than the nihari. In contrast, you receive much more goat meat which comes in tender chunks. I am thinking I would order this dish again for sure.Butter chicken - this was my least favorite dish. The white meat chicken was too dry and most noticeably the curry was just too salty. I've had many better in the Houston area, so wouldn't order this dish again.Service is ok, but don't expect to be waited on after ordering."
"Iraqi kabob sandwich is delicious. Reminds u of home. Great service. Takes time making ur order. Love the food."
"Great food with amazing service. Khalid bhai and Yasmin bhen (master chef) have this place rocking. The crew had all the logistic covered. No wait on puri, naan, paratha or any food. They had so many varieties of food that it was hard to pick and choose. Keep it up guys."
"Great chicken tikka and naan. Plenty of parking. You order your meal to go, ahead of time or order in and have a seat. Saturday when we visited there was plenty of seating and booths. They also have grocery area in the same place. Saw a smoothie sign and next time will order one. The place is located right off U.S. 90 next door to the country store/gas station."
"Not bad. Fun to sit on the floor and eat.Nothing was so amazing to make me come back but it was good... not amazing!I liked the diversity of the wait staff... Forgot 3hat it was called like mandoo... omgosh THAT was delicious"
"I ordered the Sando Combo, Nashville hot, with extra Bird sauce. The meail arrived quickly, and was still hot and fresh! If you like Nashville hot chicken, this is some of the best I've had!"
"My mom LOVES this place! We stop here on our way back from an errand we run this way all the time. She orders the Lamb Platter and I order the Lamb Salad. The salad is interesting cause it has jalapeños and pickles in it. I've never eaten a salad like that til I ate here! My mouth is on fire! lol but I've gotten used to it. The service is excellent! We usually take it to go and they fulfill our order pretty quickly. I think we've only eaten here once. They have a good dining area but it's hardly ever too packed. I recommend this place!"
"Had to try Lilly's again and it didn't disappoint . New owners ! New owners hopefully will update decor but they have kept the menu delicious as before ! We had shrimp po-boys today ! Awesome crunch to them with amazing Cole slaw in the mix . Fries are very good here ! A hole in the wall that's worth the effort to get here !"
"On a scale from 1-10 how happy am I to have another halal restaurant here in Spring?? The number is too high-- it is way up there-- because I am absolutely ECSTATIC to have another halal place in Spring. We've been waiting and we have the community, and finally they have arrived. I love the decor upon entering the place, but sadly did not take pictures because we were very hungry (and late to meet up with our family). Beautiful green walls and flowers among the restaurant was a great welcome. The humus, had a fine taste to it but I especially like the chicken and the salad that came. I also enjoyed the lentil soup. I usually get the one from down the road (starts with a z), but this was great too. I have to say that I like the customer service. Yes, the food was delicious, and there are more reviews about that, but I have young children and I appreciate when wait staff are helpful and attentive to them. This is what made me want to review and spread the good word. (In my best shark tank voice):And for that reason, Yucca--I'm in."
"MEANWHILE; FEMALE BUSINESS OWNER!!! Stopped here for some Halal Chow while out shopping and hanging with my grandson at the Premium Outlet today! Meanwhile as my grand baby was going in on his burger and fries from the burger stand, I walked over to the Shawarma Halal Food Truck! The owner's name is Sura; very nice, friendly, and welcoming young lady. She was working alone and was very efficient in preparing orders. The food is cooked hot and fresh as you order so please expect to wait a while for your food. It's really worth it because the food was delicious and flavorful. I ordered the ten piece buffalo wings and a Shrimp Skewer plate which is accompanied with flavorful Basmati rice. Everything was absolutely delicious! Did I eat all of it? Of course not! My stomach can't hold that much food at one time, lol. However, I have enough leftover for dinner. So, I'm good! This food truck is located in the Premium Outlet in Cypress near the front gate entrance where the Nike outlet store is. You can't miss it due to the fact that it's the first food vendor you will see as you enter the gates. My overall experience with this vendor was delightful. The customer service was top notch and the food was A1 delicious and scrumptious! There's outside umbrella patio tables for dining and there's also an inside dining area in the food court. If ever you're in the area shopping, stop by and patronize with Sura and show some support for small business female owners. She's such a sweet heart. Highly recommended!"
"Huge fan of shawarma, and I have to say this may be the best Shwarma in the city of Houston. The flavorful beef Shwarma is very tender and not dry. It has all flavors hitting throughout each bite. Comes with side veggies and garlic sauce. What more do you need? Must place to try!"
"Big props to Abu Omar for being open during the arctic blast. These guys did amazing job. They had quite a big line but let me tell you what these guys were cooking up food so fast service clients I don't think I've been waiting five minutes. So big props are these guys for doing the right thing during the arctic blast.Food: I went with a beef Shawarma. It was very tasty and full of flavor. It was priced well. One thing I wanted to try was the beef kebab but I deafly understand that they had a limited menu during the arctic blast so this is something that I will come back and try for sure. I'm a big fan of beef kebab and I bet you they do a great job here I will definitely come back many more times because I enjoyed the big Shawarma. The customer service was very good as well. The people working here are very nice. Very nice family owned business. I believe they have locations all over Houston. If you were in the area I've never tried them I suggest giving them a shot. You will not be disappointed. Thanks again for sharing the Houston community during the Hardik class when most restaurants were closed. These guys are out there selling food keeping people full . Great job guys."
"I love this food truck. We are limited to Turkish food in houston so this gives anyone more of a reason to try it out. I was skeptical to try the food since I hadn't heard much about this place but I was optimistic when I drove past here with my Windows rolled down and smelled the delicious food. The Adana kabob plate looked amazing so I gave it a go and to my luck I find myself there quite often getting the same thing but I have promised myself to change it up the next time I go so looking forward to making my way through the rest of the menu. Definitely get the Adana kabob. You will be amazed how juicy and fresh the kabob's are!"
