"I live in Chicago, and it isn't often that a restaurant is good enough for to travel this far, but Kritunga is now one of them. I went there for lunch on a Sunday with my wife and mother in law. I knew going in that food here is spicy going in, but it wasn't really much of an issue. To combat the spicy, if it's an issue for you, order one of their great mango lassis or, I highly recommend, the chikoo shake. Also don't forget the white rice. The food itself is was amazing. My favorites were the onion samosas, lamb vindaloo and the chili paneer. The onion samosa can out hot (temperature) and crispy. They were so delicious we gobbled down the entire order so quickly. If you like paneer, the chili paneer is a must order. The lamb of the lamb vindaloo was tender, delicious and fall apart. Yes it's spicy, but that just goes with the territory. It's one of the better lamb vindaloos I've ever had. The atmosphere is light and fun. The interior is large and decorated with fun colors. When I was there, the restaurant was mostly filled with families which made for lively atmosphere. Finally, the service was excellent. Our server was attentive and brought out our food quickly. In sum, this is fun and lively Indian restaurant with some delicious and flavorful food. It was worth the drive from Chicago."
"Because there's so many Indian restaurants on Devon Avenue, it doesn't matter a lot if one is bad. It has plenty more to choose from. Khan BBQ isn't bad, but there's many places that are better though. About the worst that can be said about it is the atmosphere. There's not much to it, so just focus on the food instead. A lot of familiar items are on the menu such as tandoori chicken if you're looking for traditional Indian barbecue. It also has non meat items. The one we got was the Chana Masala. It's about $12 for the vegetarian entrees. These don't come with anything though. Add a few bucks to get naan. Then add a few more to get rice. All of a sudden it doesn't sound like such a good deal here. That's the main reason I can go to many other places to get something quite similar. For quality of the food, it's good. It's not anything better than from many other places you can get to on Devon Avenue from here. The good thing about it is with the meaty and vegetarian items, it's good for groups because there's lots of variety."

Visit Restaurant Page"First time trying this place. I ordered food over the phone for pick up. The man on the phone was very polite. When I went to pick up the food, both of the men I dealt with were very nice. They even carried the food out to the car for me. The inside of the restaurant looked nice and there was pleasant (I assume) Indian music playing. Several people were seated and dining. I ordered most of the vegetarian/vegan items on the menu and everything was delicious. My wife and I enjoyed it all. Would return, would recommend."
"Bonafide "chaat" house. Casual and maintained like a cafe. Not a regular full service restaurant. So if you are planning to meet many friends, I wouldn't put their staff through that hassle. For those wanting to expand their knowledge of what Indian foods can offer. Guy's it's not always about butter chicken! Spice levels are comfortable and kids alike will enjoy. The food is Indian vegetarian. Snacks, fried items, limited desserts and some Indian entree staples. Dosas, idlis, paratha, puffed rice, roti, puri (types of Indian breads) and more. Those are often served alongside chutneys, dips, veg curries and even more. Side note: Most Indians will not order dosas and puris in carry out or delivery. These are breads that are made to eat when fresh. It's at its best when it hits the plate soon after frying. I guess you could try to microwave it but some finesse is needed to get the breads back to a pliable texture. Uru Swati is a household name on Devon that's been in existence for many years. They've experienced some highs and many lows. Somehow though, they keep comin' back around in popularity. A change in staff or getting back to basics can do that. Presently they are on a high in the food preparation side of the business. Best to get it while it's still good."
"Indian food at its best. Met the owner for the first time. Talked about her passion and love for cooking food. We loved their goat curry and chicken leg piece was nice and tender. I have went there multiple times already since couple of months, love their place. People bring positive vibes and ambiance is cozy. Would love for them to cater food for us some day!"
"Flambe India is a wonderful place to get tasty and delicious Indian food. In my two visits here (for carry-out only), I had good experience, and the food was good both the times. On my most recent visit, I ordered their EGGPLANT CHERRY TOMATO CURRY (cubes of eggplant and cherry tomato cooked in a rich sauce of golden fried onions and tomatoes), NATKHAT BHEER MASALA (chunks of lamb soaked in a mixture of yogurt, garlic, ginger, papaya, and spices, roasted in Tandoor served on top of a creamy tomato and onion sauce), a couple of garlic naans, one tandoori roti, and a side of sliced onions and jalapeños. Rice came with the entrées and did not need to be ordered separately. I placed my order over the phone and went to pick up the food by the time I was informed the order would be ready. Upon arriving for pick-up, I received good service. The restaurant looked clean and inviting. I liked its decor and there was plenty of seating inside and some outside. I had to wait to a few minutes as there were other patrons before me that were being attended. Upon having the food I ordered, I can firmly say that Flambe India's food is bold and flavorful. It was quite to my liking. The eggplant cherry tomato cherry was a unique dish that I had not come across before, and the roasted lamb chunks in a creamy tomato and onion sauce definitely exceeded my expectations as the lamb was cooked properly and it was mixed in well in the marinade it was prepared. The Naan, tandoori roti, and rice were good. I liked my overall experience in trying Flambe India. Their menu has a nice variety of dishes to choose from, and in my two visits, the food has been tasty and of good quality. The only issue I had is their menu's pricing. The dishes are more expensive in price than they should be. We are talking about Schaumburg and Chicago level pricing. Some items are easily two to three dollars more than they should be. However, I understand that good quality food comes with its share of costs. Anyway, I liked the food at this restaurant and would definitely recommend it to anyone who likes food Indian food."
"The food items on the menu for an online order are not descriptive at all, and there aren't really any photos for one to know what they're ordering. For the price of the entrees, I expected rice to come with the order but there was no rice. My office ordered multiple entrees for delivery for our lunch, but none of the bowls that came were labeled. We couldn't figure out what what was what, especially since the menu online had no descriptions nor photos to help. The food leaked orange oil all over our desks."
"Usmania Fine Dining offers a sprawling menu of Halal Pakistani cuisine, from appetizers and casual American options to decadent Matka stews (slow-cooked in clay pots), fiery curries, and refreshing mocktails. Our carnivorous gathering sought the server's guidance, resulting in a delightful exploration:Matka Gosht ($28): Mutton, slow-cooked to tenderness in a Matka clay pot, reveled in a symphony of tomatoes, ginger, garam masala, and chilies.Peshawari Beef Karahi ($25): The undisputed champion of our table, this dish featured boneless beef stir-fried in a Karahi (open wok) with a vibrant tapestry of tomatoes, ginger, garam masala, and chilies. For an exceptional Peshawari experience, look no further than Usmania.Usmania Mix Platter ($32): A captivating selection of meats, showcasing melt-in-your-mouth seek kebabs (minced beef), succulent tandoori chicken (bone-in), flavorful lamb chops, and boneless chicken pieces. The seek kebabs were particularly noteworthy, ranking among the finest I've encountered. While the lamb chops held their own, the chicken proved slightly less remarkable.Naan ($2): Pillowy flatbread, traditionally prepared in a tandoor clay oven, provided the perfect canvas for scooping up the aromatic curries.Usmania Fine Dining's spacious ambiance makes it ideal for large gatherings. The culinary journey, particularly the Peshawari dishes, leaves a lasting impression."
"Okay, this place is hopping. Like, shoulder-to-shoulder at 9 pm on a Friday kind of hopping. But you know what? It's worth the squeeze. This is Indian street food done right. Fresh, hot, and bursting with flavor. We ordered the Mysore Chutney Masala Dosa and each bite was a mini explosion of deliciousness. The Cut Mirchi was cooked to perfection, and was perfectly seasoned. Now, be warned: it's LOUD. Like, "gotta raise your voice to be heard across the counter" loud. Rating: 4.5 stars (would be 5 for the food alone, but that noise level...)"
"Apna Indian Grill recently opened in a location with two entrances, along Elston as well as Montrose. I've wanted to give it a try, as Indian food is not a prominent find in this immediate area. I walked in to place my takeout order, and the pleasant young lady patiently answered my questions about my potential order. I went with lamb shahi korma, a dish that to my knowledge I have never ever tried before. She said that I could order my dish as "mild" so that is what I did. My order came out in only a few minutes. Fortunately I arrived before a party of 16 or so was about to dine in, possibly saving me a significant wait for my food.Lamb shahi korma comes with chunks of lamb, and a smattering of cashews and raisins in a creamy onion sauce, along with a side of rice. I did enjoy the flavor of the dish, and the food had just a bit of zing to it, although for $17.95 I was hoping for a bit more quantity of food."
"My girls were craving Biryani and I didn't want to cook. Found this place close to my office so we decided to try it. Everything is made fresh so we put in our order went back to work and picked it up an hour later. Loved the chicken Biryani, and the big Samosa with the chickpeas. those were my favorites but really, everything was delish. My two girls and I did not stop until all the food was gone! Will definitely order from there again.Sorry, I forgot to take a picture first but remembered halfway thru my plate!!And yes, I agree, the owner is nice and personable."
"This review is based only on excellent takeout experiences. I've never dined in, but I've gotten delivery 3 or 4 times and am smitten! The food always comes hot and very well packaged. Typically each container is plastic wrapped, which would normally bug me since it's wasteful, but it's a huge help with the saucy dishes. I noticed they even go to the trouble to package cold items (I.e. raita- yogurt sauce) separately from hot.The fooooood; oh my goodness! Their Lamb Biryani is killer- it's the main reason I've continued to order from them. They season it with saffron, whole cloves, cinnamon bark and cardamom pods, which are kinda annoying to pick out buuut it's WORTH IT for the flavor! The lamb is insanely delicious; I can tell they slow cook it as it's always perfectly tender/succulent. I saw some other reviewers mention lamb, so it must be one of their fortes. The only thing I don't recommend is the Tandoori chicken. I found it was dry and didn't travel very well. But highly recco the Vegetable Samosa (so huge and crunchy), Onion Kulcha (naan), Chicken Shahi Korma, Palak Paneer, and Vegetable Curry! I appreciate that each dish comes with perfectly cooked rice, which also helps stretch the already-large servings into multiple meals. Prices are high but you're getting a ton of food. Don't miss this place!"

We came for dinner after hearing great reviews from some friends. We didn't realize this place was BYOB so that's good to know next time. The pictures don't do the food justice. Everything we ordered was good but we especially enjoyed the chili baby corn and the kadai paneer which are some of the best we have had at an Indian restaurant. Can't wait to come back at try more things on the menu!

This place has been an institution on Devon for many years. Authentic Pakistani style BBQ is their specialty. The restaurant is a no frills place with little to no decor. But it's clean and the service was quick on this night. Got me my water right away and the complimentary "salad". Which consists of cucumbers, onions and cabbage. No dressing but come with two bottle of sauces on your table. Green chutney and tomato ketchup. I ordered the tandoori champ. Goat chops spiced and grilled in their tandoori oven and one naan. The chops were moist with a great char. The spices were well balanced. And really a tasty dish. The naan was hot and fresh. I appreciated the tenderness of the goat while still having that char on top.We always get stuff to bring back from the restaurant but it was good to be able to go and eat fresh there too.

I'm not an Indian food expert but I do enjoy a variety of flavors. Thali did not disappoint. We had the butter chicken, it came in a velvety sauce with jasmine rice on the side. The biryani with veggies was garnished with carmelized onions and a variety of vegetables. We started with samosas, the green sauce had just the right amount of bite. Very good, will be back!

Look, I won't lie, the service here is kinda "meh." Not unfriendly, just not exactly bursting with enthusiasm. But you know what? The food? Solid. They've got a decent menu with some real winners (think hearty, satisfying eats). Plus, the location's perfect for a quick lunchtime fuel-up. And hey, the no-frills vibe (think hole-in-the-wall, not white tablecloths) is kinda charming in its own way. So, if you're after a good, basic lunch without the fuss, this place delivers. My apologies for not including photos, but I had civilians in tow, and it's always embarrassing when taking food pix in front of them! :)

Really enjoy visiting Makki grill for halal fast food! Kids love their Chicken tenders and fries. Burgers are decent too. I have tried their garlic naan and butter chicken in the past and they were good. The wings and pizza are also great options. The wings are extra crispy fried but addictive - bet you can't just have one. The pizza is crispy and the gyros or chicken (or both for meat lovers) make them really unique and well enjoyed by the family for quick meals. They have a reward program and the prices are very reasonable. It's so nice to have this option in our area.

Indian food is the one cuisine I haven't explored as much since I'm not the biggest fan of curry but I've always been interested in trying the different foods offered. I'm so glad I finally gave it a try and went to Flambe as my first experience. Starting with the decor, its so beautiful and inviting. The employees are welcoming and the tables are full of happy people.I went with the most popular items which the waiter recommended and was so blown away with all the flavors. The samosas were crunchy on the outside and filled with succulent veggies on the inside. The naan was everything. The chicken was some of the best chicken I've ever had in my life. The veggies, lentils, rice, all delightful. There is a dish for all types of diets here and each one is good. This is definitely a top go to for me when craving indian food and I highly recommend to all!

A good place for more upscale Indian. If not already implied by the name. Usmania is one of the many places on Devon Avenue in Rogers Park. Bhindi Masala is the best. There's lots more to choose from. Because of the name it's expected to be expensive. It's more of an upscale but still casual place. The entrance is kind of like an indoor patio it seems. After that, doors lead into the actual dining room. It seems like a big place, and there's always lots of banquets and stuff. It's about $14 for an entree. We got a few classic items, and found a few good ones. I got the Bhindi Masala. Th okra was kind of soggy. Other than that, it was okay. Tons of spice. Good upscale Indian. It doesn't include naan or rice with entrees, so you have to pay extra to get these. There's quite a few things on the menu for vegans and vegetarians.
Visit Restaurant Page"This was my first time here and I enjoyed what I had, however it was difficult for me not knowing what each item was. Luckily I had friends with me that were knowledgeable. The food was tasty, but the portions felt small. I guess you had an option between naan and roti but I wasn't offered that. The lassi was smooth. The other offerings we tried were good, but I don't know if I'd come back because I don't know what they are. It would be nice if they had descriptions."
"This place is so cute! Been wanting to go for awhile and finally got the chance to hit it up.Our server was great! I think she also was our server at Indienne! But so knowledgeable and attentive! The food was DELICIOUS! Everything we ordered was so flavorful! And we loved the vibe."
"Vasco's Peri Peri packs flavor and the heat. If you're not familiar with what Peri Peri is, its a seasoning, flavoring, and style of chicken that was originally produced by Portuguese explorers in Portugal's former Southern African territories, particularly Mozambique and its border regions with South Africa, and then spread to other Portuguese domains. And yes, I totally stole that last sentence from Wikipedia.Vasco's has a variety of stuff on their menu, including burgers, paneer, falafels, chicken and rice, and chicken sandwiches, to name a few. You go up to the front, order from either a paper menu or the overhead menu, pay, and grab a number and table. They will bring out the food for you.Pro-tip: the burgers, are not ones made with beef, to my son's dismay, but made of chicken. Why it's not called a chicken burger, I don't know. In either case, the sandwiches come in this very fluffy, very tasty ciabatta bread. I ordered the "Samarai Burger", which had peri peri chicken, romaine lettuce, tomato, red onion, samurai and garlic sauce. It was scrum-diddly-umptious! The got the chicken in a mild sauce, and it had the right kick. Note, one of my friends got the hot, and dude was in pain. I believe the hottest there is is "Dynamite" and you need to sign a waiver for it. No joke.I ordered a side of seasoned fries and it was pretty good. Food came out fast, chicken was mildly dry, but still tasty, and overall, great food.BATHROOM REVIEW: Located around the corner, opposite wall to the kitchen, the bathrooms are single-person bathrooms. Inside the mens, the urinal was broken, but kudos for the sign. Toilet was "meh" but workable, and the sink and super-powerful hand dryer were good. Sit or squat? Squat."
"Lahore.. you don't go here for the ambience or a bourgeois night out. This place is legit just to relax and chill with your loved ones for a good time. We drive an hour just to go to Lahore. It is a bit dark and gloomy in the cafe to be honest.. but upon sitting down we have a garnishment of sorts with onions, lettuce, cucumbers and a yogurt chutney. They are known for their Lahore Chargha(half or full chicken in mouth watering flavors, spices, and juices)!! Y'all .. let me tell you!! It is fire!! You should order it at least 30 mins in advance. There is literally nothing better thn that chargha! The family usually gets the chargha, keema fry (fried minced meat), Lahore dal (lentiles), naan, and tawa rice (fire azzzz chicken rice)The staff is friendly, the food is priced reasonably, and you cannot get this flavor of spices anywhere else! Anyone with a flavorful palette will appreciate this joint!"
"Priya has re-opened! Just got done with their Sunday buffet! The restaurant is under new management but they kept the previous chef! The interior looks great! Partial white brick walls but majority of the walls have a light silvery wallpaper with faint outlines of elephants on them. The buffet was very good--all the vegetable selections were great, there were 4 or 5 chicken selections, 2 different kinds of rice, 2 dessert options, hot tea and mango juice. There is free naan with the buffet (you need to let your server you want that), but there is no longer free dosa nor are mutton or lamb part of the regular buffet any longer either (only on special occasions, holidays etc.) However, I would still come back to Priya though; South Indian cuisine is still my favorite Indian cuisine. Plus, the majority of the diners today were 99.9 % Indian, which I loved!"
"We always walk by chia chai and were excited to try the riverwalk location especially because we have tried the food at other locations. I am a big fan of their pani puri. Their bhel needs some work though. It gets soggy by the time they serve us and we all know that a soggy bhel is a no go. I am also a fan of their samosas and chai. Very authentic food and reminds me of home. I'd definitely recommend this place, especially the riverwalk location for the view. They have out some chairs and tables by their location on the river and it's a fun way to spend a summer or winter evening."
"We pulled up and we're a bit confused, couldn't see that they served food. I will admit I used my handy Yelp app to see what was nearby, looked at the pictures and star rating and decided to head over. What a pleasant experience, we walked in and asked if they're serving now and the owner showed us the way over to the tables, gave us menus to look over. We placed our order for Dahi(Yogurt) chaat. and mutter paneer, both were delicious and exceeded our expectations. The owner checked back with us several times to make sure we were doing okay. We bought a few grocery items and an Indian spice box I wanted one to go along with the cooking classes that I signed up for, I explained this to him and he did say he was trying to talk his wife into teaching. I shared some more of the class info with him. He gave me his card and said if I ever had any questions to give him a call. If I'm ever in the area, I'll make it a point to stop back in. They also have samosas ready for a quick to go item another perk."
"I've finally had the chance to stop here after driving past the place many times. The mini grocery store had organized and well stocked shelves and the place is clean. There was also a section for fresh meat and some produce. I went straight to the hot food section and checked what dishes were available. There were many containers of various dishes and appetizer trays as well. New containers of hot dishes were constantly being put on the shelves and they all looked delicious. Since it was my first time here and I was not really familiar with any of the dishes yet, I picked the ones in the small containers only. The Chili Chicken was from the refrigerated food section and the items here were from the day before so the prices were marked down. I also got a small container Beef Fry and Vegetable Fried Rice. Both the chicken and beef dishes were just ok, there was not much spice or flavor on both, a tad oily, and I expected more heat on the chicken dish. The same goes for the fried rice, it was quite bland. I would like to other dishes next time, I'll probably do a research first so I'll be more familiar with what goes in each dish and what to expect, flavor wise.Overall, the service from the guy in the counter was nice although he was very pre-occupied so I couldn't really ask for any questions and suggestions. I will come back to try the other items and hopefully I can get something better. Hopefully."
"Everyone - we are lucky to have this authentic Indian restaurant. Do you know how hard it is to run a restaurant? As an immigrant? Please don't judge them in an overly harsh way! I'm not Indian American, but I have a huge appreciation for their food. Cluelessly, I came here twice with an Indian neighbor and then with an Indian coworker. Each time, it was fantastic! Granted, I have no idea what the dishes were called but I tried at least 6 things. They were so flavorful, especially for vegetarians (sadly I'm not).Service was fine both times. They're not overly chatty but immediately bring out bottled water and plates/silverware. The food came out quickly too. The prices are really fair. I've spent more at Starbucks than on dinner here."
"Absolutely incredible. Do not think twice., go here and eat. Right now. Get the mutton. Everyone is so sweet. Roti and masala is incredible."
"A lunch thali with butter chicken, chicken korma and chicken vindalo with spicy biryani rice, naan and vegetable samosa. I shared with my fiance and our favorite was the butter chicken. The rice was very well spiced and spicy. The other two had distinct flavors which were nice. The naan was buttery and a very large portion. We added a vegetable samosa and everything was pretty good portions and great prices. Will definitely return if in the area! Very nice service too."
"This is in a strip mall, with access to an alley so on exiting you don't have to turn left on Roosevelt. There's plenty of seating and a mural with a little photo op bench that makes it look like you're in a minicab. Service was OK though the server was on his phone until it was quite obvious I was going to order.Vegetarian items are clearly marked and none of the "fusion" options are vegetarian. So I stuck to the classic options (samosa; chaat on samosa; various things on puri or papi), which are nacho-chip sized papadum (I had to ask). Sauces are extra, apparently house-made). I'm not desi, so I had to ask some questions - the website provides descriptions of ingredients. The "sweet" section of the menu includes mango or rooh afza falooda (which the internet informs me is rose and various herbal flavors) with little jelly bits and ice cream, or you can get them in a lassi. Or there are multiple nonalcoholic mojito flavors. I got a "plain old samosa" with spicy green chutney and a mango falooda. The samosa was unexceptional but fresh from the fryer with very crisp pastry; the spicy green chutney was; and the mango falooda was delightful. I'm not super excited about the food (I'm more or less done with samosa chaat and I'm not a big fan of puri) but I am excited about the drinks selection. I'm not the target audience, but if you like fast Indian street food with a variety of sweet drink options, check them out!"
"Downtown Libertyville PRO TIP: Eat lunch at 1 pm to avoid the lunch crowd. They sold me with garlic naan. I don't know why that's not a staple at every Indian restaurant. It should be. And I can say the garlic naan didn't disappoint.Singh's Kitchen is trendy and fits right in with the other spots on Milwaukee Ave. It's actually a lot bigger once you get inside and realize it spans two store fronts. The big windows also make for a perfect spot to eat, chat, and people watch. There's a couple of interesting options on the menu so rather than sticking with one of my typical picks, I chose the Garlicghee Surf and Turf. Points for the clever name because I love a good pun. The pork and veggies were delicious. The rice was a simple yellow/turmeric rice, def the right option for this dish. The surf part of this dish was shrimp and it just didn't work for me. The meal it self was very flavorful, but the shrimp didn't feel cohesive with the pork and it was a little overcooked. Still a good dish, but I'll probably do some more exploring on the menu next time. I also tried the vegetable samosa and would absolutely recommend them. Also worth noting, when I was walking out I saw a buffet set up so it looks like their brunch buffet (that I read about in much older reviews) may have returned!"
"I haven't had Goan food before and Bar Goa was a great entry into the cuisine. There seemed to be outside seating although it wasn't available given how cold it was so we sat inside. The interior was lively and the music was fun throwback songs which is always a good time. As for the food? Delicious. We went with a larger group so there were a variety of dishes on the table. For drinks, I got the Mango Sangria which was refreshing and fruity. For food, we got Paneer Makhani, Cauliflower 65, Ghee Roast Aloo Chat, and Goan Cauliflower Stew. The Cauliflower 65 and Paneer Makhani are classics that I get every time and this time was no different. Both were flavorful with just the right level of spice for the cauliflower 65. The real shocker for me was the Goan Cauliflower Stew. I hadn't heard of this dish before and so my expectations were moderate but it was fantastic! So creamy and rich but not too heavy with a good helping of vegetables."
"From the looks of it this so called Indian restaurant in Winthrop Harbor may seem kind of sketchy, but it's actually pretty good Indian food. It's not an actual Indian restaurant though, because it's in a bar with a gaming area and it's only for takeout. Delhi Bistro has many of the basics. Everything from channa masala to tikka masala. The food has mostly a mild spice. After looking up places to eat, we came here. It was a bit confusing, because this wasn't like an Indian restaurant. This is more like a bar to be honest, with a gaming area in the next room with video slots. Also you could only do takeout for the food. It's about $12 for an entree, and we got the Channa Masala. Good flavor with a spice to it. The portions were pretty small for the high price. Come here if wanting Indian food to go. It's pretty authentic flavor with plenty of spice. The prices are pretty high for the portions it seems though."
"We order to go goat biryani from here and definitely worth the hype, one of the best biryani experiences ever for sure. Maybe next time we will try other items from here as mentioned in other reviews.."
"We went to this place for sehri and while we were the only group there their buffet was really good the kabobs and chicken tikka were awesome and while i didn't eat everything in their buffet since it was suhoor. i highly recommend people to try this place out. this was our first time going for suhoor to devon and we really enjoyed it here as a group of 8 people we had a fun outing"
"Basic looking locally owned Indian restaurant but the food isn't basic. It sure is easy to find Indian food in Rogers Park, and if you're looking for authentic stuff, you can get it from here. Naan On Devon is a little place visited mostly by Indians. Meaning, if they like it then it must be good. The entrees are just that and don't include naan or rice, but the prices are okay. About as authentic of Indian as you can get. It has that pungent Indian food smell as you come in. That better be the food I smell. Anyway, we got some authentic cuisine. The menu is full of lots of stuff. Chana Masala is her favorite so she got it. It's about $11 for entrees, which is a pretty typical price for Indian food it seems so I won't complain a whole lot about prices. The one I got was the Mix Sabzi. It's another vegetarian item. This is basically mixed vegetables. Both the entrees were good. The problem was they were only the main part and nothing else came with these. It didn't include naan. There was no rice. It's a couple bucks extra to get bread. Then a couple more for rice. Good as far as what we got. It would have been better to include naan or rice with it. These are typically eaten with entrees so it's kind of fucked up to not include these."
"We ordered a lot of food for takeout today as my husband was craving for their food. Big thumbs up for the takeout package! I was surprised that everything felt like fresh out of kitchen when we got the delivery. The food was carefully wrapped with tin foil, so everything was nice and warm. Overall, the food was delicious. Love their beef samosa for the crispy shell and garlic naan bread for the fluffiness. However, the Tandoori Lamb Boti Kabob was terrible. The meat was dry, chewy, and loaded with spice... Not sure if this is the way that lamb kabob is supposed to be, but that dish is one bad apple that ruins the bunch."
"Okay so this is one of those places where kudos must be given for concept alone. It is something all of us Indians at heart search for...tada! search over. Here's what I love: a healthy variety of sweet and savory Indian snacks of which some can be full on meals. very creative and fun names given to food items. They have the largest medley of paan I've seen. Goodness, they even have golas. Their coffees are not your local gas station concoctions, they serve legit espresso, cappuccino, and lattes. I like the high tables. In terms of overall building cleanliness and employee morale, it seems as if that initial exciting blaze has fizzled to a single wick candle flicker, and that happens. Service can sometimes feel lackluster depending on who is helping you. Nonetheless, we will continue to swing by for some gol guppas, falooda, and, of course, some paan for the road ...because paan thats why"
"I love Hyderabad house. Maybe a hot take, but this place has the best Andhra style food, and South Indian food more generally, in the Chicagoland area. Has unique items like pomfret fish fry, that you won't be able to find elsewhere. The service can be a little hit or miss, but it's worth persevering through for high quality food!"
"Our go-to Indian spot for takeout. We've tried the samosa, butter chicken, dal makhani (lentils), bhindi masala (okra), various biriyanis, and Goan fish curry (made with salmon --- and comes with so much delicious sauce we didn't want it to go to waste so added another piece of salmon at home and made it into another meal!). All dishes are fantastic. Since we live close we don't mind that they're still takeout only for right now. Menu is on the pricey side, but it just seems like food cost is up overall and not coming down anytime soon."
"My parents often order carryout here so naturally when we're in town we get it (too any India food approved by Papa Patel - you know the food is going to be good). Ordered lamb biryani, mattar paneer, daal makhani, naan and chicken tikka masala. Everything was delicious as usual. Especially loved that the lamb biryani was spicy. We'll definitely return and order from here again."
