This review is based only on excellent takeout experiences. I've never dined in, but I've gotten delivery 3 or 4 times and am smitten!The food always comes hot and very well packaged. Typically each container is plastic wrapped, which would normally bug me since it's wasteful, but it's a huge help with the saucy dishes. I noticed they even go to the trouble to package cold items (I.e. raita- yogurt sauce) separately from hot.The fooooood; oh my goodness! Their Lamb Biryani is killer- it's the main reason I've continued to order from them. They season it with saffron, whole cloves, cinnamon bark and cardamom pods, which are kinda annoying to pick out buuut it's WORTH IT for the flavor! The lamb is insanely delicious; I can tell they slow cook it as it's always perfectly tender/succulent. I saw some other reviewers mention lamb, so it must be one of their fortes.The only thing I don't recommend is the Tandoori chicken. I found it was dry and didn't travel very well. But highly recco the Vegetable Samosa (so huge and crunchy), Onion Kulcha (naan), Chicken Shahi Korma, Palak Paneer, and Vegetable Curry! I appreciate that each dish comes with perfectly cooked rice, which also helps stretch the already-large servings into multiple meals. Prices are high but you're getting a ton of food. Don't miss this place!

I picked up my order on Uber eats and everything in that regard went perfect. The items were packaged well and everything was warm and made on time. When I went inside, the place itself was empty but the person who handed me my food was kind. In terms of the food, I was pretty disappointed. I got naan and the chicken tikka masala. I wish there was more spice and flavor to the masala and it tasted more tomato-y. The naan also was very chewy and didn't taste very fresh.

Best Indian in Lincoln Park for sure is at here. It has pretty affordable prices for the big portions. Raj Darbar is usually pretty quiet. Even on weekends it's not that bad. There's lots to choose from including meaty options as well as for herbivores with selections including eggplant, naan, samosas and more. Amazing we had never been here. It certainly was overdue. The place wasn't busy even though it was Saturday night, but we weren't complaining about not waiting. Got a table and quickly made choices. It's about $11 for an entree. That's about average for an Indian restaurant. I had the Bhindi Masala. This had lots of okra with cumin and other spices. Okra wasn't raw like some places that don't cook it enough. The girl ordered Chana Masala. Loads of chickpeas. This also had a good smell. About the only complaint is naan isn't including with an entree. This has to be ordered in addition, so add a few bucks to get it or another bread like roti. Good flavor and can be as spicy as you want it to be. It's even okay at medium spice but you can certainly get it freaky hot. They have no alcohol but you can bring your own, as you need to have something on hand for the spicy food for sure.

Yikes. This review is sorely for the food. Ordered through ubereats, everything was fine in that regard. Ordered chicken tiki masala and let me tell you I am DISAPPOINTED. ok so I ordered this and normally chicken tikki masala is a cute creamy deep dish, and what they served me was giving VERY flavored water. Had none of the creamy aspects of what I'm use to and barely had any flavor. A few pieces of chewy chicken. But just off and meh. Which is super weird for Indian food. I've had this dish through multiple states and countries and I've never been served something like this. It's a travesty truly. Do not recommend.

Tried this place recently for delivery. Food was okay in terms of flavor. Ordered the chicken pakora, mango lassi, chicken tikka. The chicken pakora were okay they take large chicken pieces and coat them with a spice. I felt like they tasted as if they were reheated in a microwave, the chicken was over cooked and the taste was not pleasant. Chicken tikka also the gravy was very tasty but the chicken was dry and over cooked. Overall I was somewhat disappointed with quality of food, but that maybe the result of delivery.

I got the garlic naan, raita, chicken tikka masala, and tandoori chicken platter. The garlic naan and raita and tandoori were pretty good. The chicken tikka masala wasn't spicy enough, but the chicken was still good quality and came with a LOT of meat. The tandoori chicken platter came with tamarind and mint chutney sauce, and onions and a lemon. I would definitely be getting this again!! The rice was delicious, and raita came in a big portion which I was hoping for because it was $5. Overall, I would return but try something other than the tikka masala.

We are a very frequent customers to Raj Darbar. Monthly 3-4 times at the least.Great food and never had any issues with any of our previous order. But yesterday I called the restaurant to see if my online Order which placed in advance is being cooked or to know the status. I wanted to cancel my order if they had not started the cooking as our plans changed.The person who picked up my call was very rude and outright disrespectful. He actually said "Are you playing any games". I asked the persons' name or connect me to the Owner/Manager but he hung up on me. This is all just for asking "if my order is being cooked and if not asking to cancel".We are a very loyal customer to this restaurant and never had any issues and always appreciated and enjoyed their food. But after this incident we felt very disrespectful and won't be dinning here anymore.Too bad we actually enjoy the quality food here. Loss to the owner and loss to us.
