My husband, baby, and I came to eat here for an early dinner when we were in town. They were kind about our running late and let us keep our baby in his stroller so we could eat. The octopus is perfectly cooked and comes with a really good green sauce. The clam dish comes with a great red sauce I highly recommend getting more bread for to enjoy. The pesto gnocchi are wonderfully seasoned. The German Riesling was a pleasant surprise, since a lot of Italian restaurants stick to Italian wine. My husband really enjoyed his old fashioned. Great restaurant! Highly recommend."

Elle S. "I've loved this restaurant ever since I first ate here almost a decade ago. There are a few other locations. The ice cream shakes are AMAZING. I would come here just for them. My mom said her taco salad was just okay & she wouldn't get it again. Normally I really adore the Cajun black bean burger but for some reason this time it wasn't as good as I remember it. I think they just had an off night bc normally the food is killer good. The Lavender Gimlet tasted like gin and lavender, haha, so if that's EXACTLY what you want - then get it. I'm really sensitive to the taste of alcohol so I wished it was sweetened or more sweet. I ended up pouring it into my strawberry milkshake, hahaha, which did the job...ALSO. They played Cigarettes After Sex ('Sweet'), Mazzy Star ('Fade Into You'), & LANA. DEL. REY. ('Let the Light In' ft. Father John Misty). Hearing ur favourite music in a public place is insaaaaane. Would highly recommend to everybody, even non-vegans! Thanks Chicago Diner :)"

It was delicious. The truffle on top really made it extra special. We also ordered the cowboy steak, truffle fries, and bleu cheese mashed potatoes. Delicious! I haven't had a good steak like this in a restaurant! For desert, we ordered the baked Alaska. Since we were celebrating our honeymoon (yes I know it says happy birthday lol), our waiter also brought us cotton candy. They flambé the baked Alaska at the table, so that was really cool! The desserts were also very delicious.Waiters are kind, service is fast. Your water is always topped off! The place is dark, but not too dark. The waiters don't make you feel rushed and the experience was overall a great one.I definitely recommend this place. Check it out!"

I ordered:-Half order of Burrata E Ham -Half order of Arancini-Gnochetti con Pesto-SundaeI love that you can do half orders of the two appetizers I mentioned! It came with 2 pieces instead of 4, which is perfect for a party of two. The burrata is extremely popular and it was so good ... sweet and salty. Highly recommend. The arancini was good, but I didn't think it was anything special. They also gave us some complimentary chilled tomato soup and soup shooters (I forget the name) since we were there celebrating our anniversary. It was excellent. The gnocchi pesto was also amazing, the pasta is light and unique. Flavor is good... highly recommend. I only thing I would skip is probably the sundae. It was ordinary and wasn't worth the price. I saw a couple people order the tiramisu though."

It's so nostalgic in so many ways because it's a place that a friend who has now passed away brought me here. It was one of his favorites. It's so Chicago and Thai, filled with love as associated with what Cozy encompasses. It's a kitschy spot and thus will begin your attachments to wanting so many delicious items here. The decor is fun and filled with childlike comforts. The menu has lots of fun baseball named items. I came with my coworkers whom I easily convinced that eating Thai food would be much better than ball park food before the game. We forgot share so many delicious items: baby eggrolls, crab Rangoons, gyozas, shrimp salad, Chicken Tom yum soup, chicken satay, Wrigley Forever, Doubleheader, salmon red curry, salmon special, pineapple fried rice. Everything was flavorful and delicious! Service was great, and I will try not to wait too long to come back again. It's a small spot but was so impressed that all 6 of us got to eat together. Couldn't tell the difference. Most importantly, it was delicious. The heat level was just right as well as the sauce. The sauce also made the corn and the potatoes taste delicious. I hate peeling shrimp. Especially when all the sauce comes off the shrimp when you're done peeling it. So I peeled all my shrimp first, threw it back in the bag and shook it up to make sure all my shrimp was coated in the sauce before it went it my mouth. Absolutely delicious. I tend to stop in impromptu during the week to enjoy the happy hour bites which go from 4p-6p weeknights. I'm so hooked on the grilled octopus and eggplant stack and truly appreciate Ubaldo's attentive bar service. The ambiance is charming in the main restaurant too - especially if you dine in the enclosed patio with the twinkle lights. During warmer months, el fresco is another great option being it's located in the River North Neighborhood. I happen to notice little details and love the beautiful Italian blue bread plates and side plates, I feel they elevate the experience. Kitchen staff does an amazing job to make unique dishes that are prepared quickly, even on a busy night. The staff hustles nonstop which can make you feel rushed but don't let that stop you from enjoying it at your own leisurely pace either. Yelp tip: Definitely do yourself a favor to ask for the fresh house made focaccia bread with EVOO & balsamic when you order your meal. They used to bring it to the table right away but now you will need to specifically ask for it. Makes sense though because you could easily fill up on it. Hello Carbs!!Portions sizes in general are adequate, and if I come with friends I prefer to share a few plates to get a nice variety of flavors. The tagliatelle pasta is made in house, and it's delicious so don't be bashful and the squid ink pasta is a wonderful choice too.Overall, Nonnina checks all the boxes! Just go:)"

The panang curry was nuttier than I expected but still good. The beef rendang had a strong lime leaf flavor along with other spices which we enjoyed. Most pieces of beef were tender and soft but a little bit dry. These two dishes went great with white rice. The mee goreng was strong in flavor and almost a bit too salty. Noodles were nice and thick. The dessert was also delicious, black sticky rice with some savory coconut milk - a little salty and a little sweet!I do wish they had another staff as we saw our takeout order on the table but there was no one to ask for utensils, we had to wait a bit with no staff in sight."

Fancypants X. "Between high Yelp ratings & being greeted by old world charm, we were excited to eat at Staropolska. We'd both recently had good pierogis at other restaurants & were hoping for much of the same; however, the food here did not live up to our expectations. He had the lamb which didn't seem to garner any praise. I ordered potato pancakes with both sour cream & applesauce & enjoyed that the pancakes were thin & had crispy fried edges. My combo of vegetarian pierogis (half potato & cheese, half sauerkraut & mushroom) were boiled; I'm partial to pan-fried pierogis but boiled would've been acceptable provided they were flavorful & fresh which unfortunately these weren't. I also wasn't a fan of their onion & bacon "jam" which is usually my favorite topping. We ended dinner with kolaczki, Polish cookies with jam dolloped in the middle; they were bland & not sufficiently sweetened. Quite a disappointing dinner, all around."

We ate them over the course of three days, they never dried out and stayed perfectly moist (we did move them to the fridge after a day and kept them in an airtight container).Banana can get easily lost when you add other flavors in, but the luscious brown butter frosting complemented the just ripe banana flavor very nicely. The tiramisu was the right balance of cupcake to marscapone frosting. It's not an overly strong coffee flavor, and the cocoa dusting isn't too much (meaning you don't cough after a mouthful of powder).I also cannot stand those cupcake places out there with the mile-high frosting (like they're trying to hide their poor cake quality), that is definitely not the case here, the proportions are perfectly delicious. Chain establishments abound in this affluent suburb, and it's rare I have the chance to experience something even remotely local. So it was with great pleasure that I had the chance to enjoy a recent dinner at Passero. My wife and I picked it purely from a quick Yelp search, and I am really glad we trusted the locals. Passero's food is fantastic, unique while familiar, and perfectly framed by a welcoming atmosphere and extremely friendly service.I particularly enjoyed the Mussels Arrabiatta, which offered an epically high pile of mussels, served in a rich tomato broth, complimented by deep-fried peperonis, which added both a depth of flavor, but also just the right amount of textural contrast to the seafood. The oily, almost greasy slices of bread to dip were perfect, and my only complaint is how little came with the dish.I also REALLY enjoyed the 'It Aint Easy Being Green' salad, which was filled with an unexpected mix of green ingredients. Who knew apples went so well with avocado? This salad was eye-opening and delightful. And to be honest, I actually enjoyed everything, including the several bites of my wife's 'Fusilli Vodka' with a Calabrian cream sauce, that I quickly consumed while she was off to the restroom. While I'm sure she would have offered me a bite had I asked, there was something thrilling about sneaking a sample of the richly seasoned dish behind her back. If I lived in Arlington Heights, or if there was a Passero near me in Ohio, I would likely go at least once a week. It's a perfect combination of service and flavor. Highly recommended!"

Stephen C. "I hadn't been here in a while and decided to introduce a friend who is also a foodie and a server at the very top shelf fine dining restaurant in town. Point being, is he knows good food and legit offerings when he sees and tastes them. It's been there over a 100 years located in our old neighborhood of Humboldt Park. I remember going to Roser's as a kid with my grandmother and family. We got a lot of birthday and holiday sweets here and many times just popped in for a treat. They are another place that offers off street parking on the side of the building. Something becoming nearly impossible to find. It's decor is old school the way it should be as is the staff made of of mostly neighborhood folks. Everyone is very friendly and willing to answer any questions. Now their pastries and sweets are top shelf and hard to beat anywhere in the city. Hence, the reason they have been around over 100 years. Just eyeballing their sweets is enough to give you a cavity in the best kind of way.My buddy went crazy! As he could not make up his mind on what he wanted he went for the brass ring and took two boxes of mixed donuts, pastries and cookies. He also commented on the super reasonable prices for what would cost an arm and a leg anywhere else.Part of it is the working class neighborhood around them and a large part if Roser's just isn't interested in sticking you up. Because of that they have an extremely loyal following with generations of families walking through their doors. One suggestion is get there early. We went about an hour before closing and the selection was good though a bit limited as they make only enough to sell and keep fresh. Stop in for a real old school neighborhood bakery and prices you won't find elsewhere for offerings that are hard to beat."

It's a big spacious building with plenty of seats available at any given time. When entering, the ordering line is on the far left side of the counter. If ordering pizza, the pizza is already pre made. They just have to be heated up and then taken to your table. I just ordered pizza but they have plenty of other Italian dishes to order. I went with a slice of their pepperoni and a slice of their Pizza Pompei. These are some gigantic slices. The pictures don't show how large they truly are. One is definitely filling. The pepperoni slice was good, and I was especially looking forward to eating their Pompei slice. I've been obsessed with "grandma" slices lately and this definitely reminded me of one. But sadly I was not a big fan. I had no idea it came with olives. I wouldn't have ordered it if I had known. Don't like to waste time picking things out of my food. Good prices for the quality and considering it's a hipster area. We had to get a vegan shake. Each of us got the shake with coconut ice cream, pineapple, and rum.
