"Great new business that just opened in Ravenswood. They have hard pack and soft serve ice cream, mix-ins, sundaes, shakes, dipped cones, even an option with Baklava! Their freezers also have ice cream by the pint or quart as well as individually packaged slices of cake. Did I mention they have VEGAN OPTIONS?The kid's cone of Spumoni I tried was great, perfect to enjoy on their sizable patio on a hot summer day. I look forward to many more delightful afternoons here."
"I was looking for a coffee shop in the loop and ran across Crepe & Bean. As the name implies, they have crepes and coffee, but they also have smoothies and smoothie bowls. Plus, the crepes include sweet and savory options. What's more, the savory crepes use halal meat. What more could one want? I had to check this place out.The interior is nice and spacious, and the ambience is relaxed. I like the decor, especially one of the paintings that I unfortunately didn't snap a photo of. Service was friendly. I decided on a spicy beef crepe and a cappuccino, although I would have liked to try a smoothie as well. The crepe was presented like a bouquet of flowers. Very cool. It was kind of hard to eat, though. The crepe itself was excellent, and it wasn't overly sweet or anything so it worked perfectly fine with savory fillings. As for the fillings, there wasn't much ground beef in there, but the little bit in there was quite tasty thanks to the sauce it was slathered in. Even though it was called spicy beef, it wasn't spicy at all. The matchstick carrots and red onions were nice, but unfortunately the bulk of the filling was lettuce. I mean, it's a good way to get your greens, but I also like my protein. The cappuccino was excellent. It had a nice, thick layer of foamed milk on top. Most places simply cannot get that right. It could be that some baristas simply aren't trained properly on using the wand, or other shops don't have very good machines. Crepe & Bean got it right, so the foam was very satisfying. All in all, a very nice lunch, coffee, or snack spot if you're in the loop."

"I couldn't find the place at first. It's right across from the post office with the entrance facing the street rather than the parking lot. It's the most quaint tiny little store front.Very tasty and clean food. The bread loafs were huuuge and I ate the entire piece given how light and fluffy it was. The owner/ chef was warm and welcoming. My only complain was that some of the ingredients (onion?) were sharp and filled the small space, which was a bit uncomfortable for my sinuses."
"The best Reuben ever, wow am I impressed. Keep in mind the price is a little high because of the area the place is in but wow it's so worth it. The rye is fresh, the cheese is fresh, the meat melts in your mouth. Absolutely worth every penny. There's also lots of open tables in the food hall and the service was quick and easy. Loved it all!"
"I'm so grateful they finally put a location closer to the downtown touristy area! This is my absolute favorite ice cream, and I live in California. Whenever I visit, this is one of my must-haves, but it was so hard to get as their original location is further south of Chicago. It's basically a small food court like space and they have their own set up inside. I got their ice cream in 40 degree weather and I had no regrets. Thank you for making it easier for us out-of-towners to enjoy this delicious treat."
"Took our toddler granddaughter here for froyo. It is a bit expensive for what it is but it's essentially the only ice creamish option in the near neighborhood. They have a large variety of flavors and toppings. I got peanut butter and pistachio froyo which were good. Hubby got birthday cake froyo with m and m's and chocolate pieces. Baby liked it all except she spit out the toppings since they were hard and a bit frozen. There are plenty of seats inside but unfortunately no booster seats or high chairs- would think they would want those since it is a good place to take kids. Anyway it served its purpose for us. Vacillating between 3 and 4 but I'll give them the 4 cause we need them to stay in business!"
"I feel like so many places say the ice cream is homemade and I try and really wonder if that's the case. The menu here basically says that you better believe it's homemade.Apparently it was featured on the food network and the flavor suggested was bourbon butter pecan. I don't really like bourbon and butter pecan is far from my favorite. The lady offered a sample so I took it. And there I was, ordering the least likely ice cream flavor I could possibly think of. It was absolutely fantastic. The family ordered several other flavors and all were really good, creamy and soft. Truly perfect. What a great discovery for us!"
"Great outdoor stand that features a limited menu of the company's best hits. Service was quick and efficient. Ice cream quality was great!!! As a tourist I recommend this ice cream. I will be."
"Love insomnia cookies... chocolate chip cookie. Snickerdoodle, oatmeal raisin and salted caramel chip is my favorite ... not a fan of their brownies."
"Im a big fan of Kurimu so was excited to try out the Lincoln Park location!I got a scoop of the blueberry cheesecake which was fantastic. The server was really nice and patient, as we tried quite a few flavors. This location was way less busy than the ones in Wicker Park and Little Italy, but has a lot more indoor space as well.I am not sure if Im a fan of the whole green apple theme they got going on."
"Known for their TACOlato, very fun way to enjoy a gelato treat! Got the one loaded with cookies and cream and the creation was very fun to eat! Well worth a try! Maybe grab a pizza on the way in or out since it is also inside Pizza Parlor. Service was quick and the place was a bit dark at night but still manageable. Good music and vibes."

Perfect place to get some ice cream on a hot summer day! With free parking in their lot! You don't see a lot of those in Chicago these days. They have indoor and lots of shaded outdoor seating to enjoy your snack. I went with a classic, vanilla soft serve but in a waffle cone. I did not realize how much more soft serve I would get with a regular size waffle cone. I could've shared it with another person. It's $1 more for waffle cone or $1.50 for dipped waffle cone like mine in the pic. Look at the pretty swirl! I'll definitely be coming back to satisfy my soft serve cravings.

We were in a hurry and in search of coffee and something light for breakfast. We are so happy we found Crepe and Bean. We love breakfast and what is better than breakfast that you hold in your hand? Yay!!! Breakfast in a crepe! We ordered the California Breakfast which came with scrambled eggs, cheddar and mozzarella cheese, spinach, and avocado all served in a freshly cooked crepe. This hand held breakfast delight was so tasty. All of the ingredients worked together for a fantastic breakfast flavor. We also had two of their lattes which were very refreshing. We really enjoyed our first stop at Crepe and Bean and will keep it in mind when we are in the neighborhood in the future and need a yummy breakfast.

Wonderful little neighborhood gem! Perfect espresso every time, home made breakfast items and smoothies, and the best service in town. This is a woman owned and operated coffee shop and she could not be nicer! My daughter wanted ketchup for her egg sandwich, and they were out. Before I could do something, the owner jumped out of the coffee shop and into the store next door, and bought some ketchup for us. Wish there were more places like this!

I came here on a random Monday during lunch with my bestie who was in town. We both were taking a chance coming for lunch but what the hey!... am I right? We both ordered the Turkey sandwich, a side of tomato bisque, spicy sesame fries, two ginger lemonades and a cookie. The food:- Turkey sandwiches ... whoa! That's all. They're massive as heck. Like talk about bang for your buck. For $10.75, you're like ehhh if the sandwich is tiny, you put up with it because it's downtown Chicago. TFS definitely put me in my place with this sandwich. It was tasty, filling and huge. Even with the removal of the avocado the sandwich was able to hold its own and believe it or not, that matters. - Tomato bisque: fire. The crotons was the tip over the edge. Also without anything, this thick and creamy soup hits the spot. - Ginger lemonades: blah. There was more lemonade than ginger and I'm a ginger girl. I need it 50/50 or at least 60/40, with 60 being ginger more. They're both super strong flavors so I need there to be a balance. - Chocolate Chip Cookie: Imagine insomnia cookie but on steroids. This is that cookie and it's all worth it. Super soft and gooey. I'd order again from any of their locations including the food truck. Great job and worth the pricing.

Was told by a native a must try treat and I'd agree. Made our walk along the riverfront all the more enjoyable. Layers of refreshingly sweet Orange Sherbet, Pistachio, Palmer House, Strawberry, and Chocolate. In a cake cone served with a considerate ice cream buddy so if it melts, it doesn't get all over your hands. Highly recommend!

I have struggled to find self-service froyo ever since the Orange Leaf chain shut down, but this is a classic froyo spot that ended my hunt! They have a variety of classic frozen yogurt flavors and sooo many toppings to choose from. This was the first place I have visited that had dividers for your yogurt cup, which is great for someone who is indecisive and doesn't like their food touching like me. Everything was clean and organized, the yogurt was great, and they have a nice patio to eat on. I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 because they don't provide any sort of free tap water for paying customers when their prices are a little high for yogurt. We didn't even remotely fill 2 cups and hardly had toppings, but our order totaled to almost $20. I feel like water could be free given the high prices for a simple dessert. Also, they prompted us to provide a tip even though it's a self-service froyo spot. I don't understand what service they provided us that would deserve a tip on top of $20 yogurt, given that the only words exchanged were "you can tap your card."

Always want to support black businesses and I've heard nothing but great things about Shawn Michelle's. The inside decor is so darn pretty and inviting. And the smell of ice cream and desserts is INTOXICATING! Each of the staff on the front lines were all very nice and greeted everyone with positive vibes. Quite a few delicious flavors of ice cream are available which made the choice difficult. I tried the strawberry cheesecake in a cup. The ice cream texture/consitency was perfect and the flavor was spot on. Absolutely delish. Shawn Michelle's is a gem and I hope more locations open up across the city. I am excited to go back to try more flavors.

"I've never had paletas before and I feel like my life wasn't full or colorful before trying them. Chicago is my partner's hometown, and while we were visiting friends in Pilsen, they took us to this little spot after walking around the neighborhood. How do they pack so much flavor and deliciousness into one little treat? Actually maybe it's a good thing that I don't live nearby...I'd be eating paletas all day and all night."
"Just found my new favorite wing place! I really like the texture of the coating on the wings and enjoyed the pleasant and strong lemon taste for the lemon pepper flavor. Was originally wanted to order the dipped Italian Beef, but might ended up saying Italian Sausage instead. The sandwich wasn't very impressive - the dipped sausage was overly dry. They didn't give an option re how wet the dipping should be. Order in person during weekday lunch hour also ended up with an extremely long wait - about half an hour. Definitely going back for the wings, but will learn the lesson to order ahead of time."
"I love my neighborhood ice cream parlor! Always great options even though the cookie monster on a waffle cone is my joint. They have an area on the side where you can enjoy your cold cream sitting down and of course you can walk around the neighborhood and enjoy, like myself. Staff is always helpful in helping you select flavors. There is a flavor flight of four as well if you want multiple tastes. I highly recommend!"
"YES YES YES! Not only is this location in the best spot but its simplicity and tastefulness combined makes for a quick little bite-to-eat. Happened to be on the bicycle roaming and exploring the city (given it was my first time in Chicago), and as we approached the fountain--a renowned Chicago landmark, right across the bridge, you will find this little hot dog stand with areas and umbrellas to sit. It began to rain and the umbrellas served to sit under and eat while the rain passed. Thank you, ha! I noticed there was a small distinct flavor on the dog (unlike one I've tasted before and I LOVE hot dogs --ball park, all hot-dogs, LOVE), surely enough I asked the gentleman serving and he stated it was their celery salt. In Chicago, a trademark is celery salt on their hot dog, with a pickle and mustard. Chicago friends had stated mustard is the only ingredient on their dogs, opposing adding ketchup, and WOW! I tried just as is--their staple and it was delicious. I did go ahead and added ketchup and it was even more amazing--since I need both. They serve their hot dog with a little bag of chips. Their lemonade is also made from scratch and is very tasty and refreshing. I highly recommend taking a stroll out by the fountain and stopping by for a bite to eat!"
"Snow Dragon Shavery is a fun spot. Especially now that we have hot summer days and warm summer nights. On our visit, we brought my friend's niece and she was so excited by the colors and all the goodies. She loved her ice cream and cotton candy. I loved the macaron cookies.I thought the store was kept really clean and organized. It's bright and colorful. And the staff was very friendly and helpful. They were very patient with our little one who had a tough time making decisions on which sweet treats she wanted.Overall, it was fun to try. I think tourists and locals will enjoy a little bit of shavery too!"
"Absolute madness - the ice creams are huge and delicious. I've never had French vanilla so tasty and their whipped cream was the perfect level of sweetness to complement the ice cream. They have full service seating and a window for takeaway orders. The service is quick, they answer all questions you have, and everything is efficient. The prices are also absurdly good. Could feed 2-3 people easily - the bowls were bigger than my head!"
"Our crepes were delicious! We had a party of four and ordered two dessert crepes. Service was not speedy but honestly it gave us a chance to relax and chat. And it was worth the wait. The crepes were fantastic and the cook / server was pleasant. The cleaner they use has a strong scent, but it is not bleach nor is it Pine-Sol scented either, thankfully. The shop is small and has no bathroom. We would visit again to try other flavors."
"If you love ice cream and popsicles then you've got to check out Milk And Wood. For $5 you get to: 1. Choose your popsicle flavor - ube, cookies n cream, peach, etc2. Choose your drizzle - white/dark/milk chocolate, condensed milk3. Choose your toppings - sprinkles, nuts, crushed oreos, etcTook my parents to the Crab Pad for dinner today and Milk and Wood is located inside the Crab Pad. I was a little dissapointed in the lack of popsicle flavors that were available during my visit - there were only 4 to choose from. I have been wanting to try this place for the longest time and wanted to make the best of my visit. Good thing they had the ube (taro) flavor and the cookies n cream. Those 2 flavors were so rich and creamy that it surprised me at how delicious a popsicle can be!! The drizzle and toppings coupled with the creaminess of the popsicle blew my mind. It was so yummy! The popsicle tasted like ice cream on a stick. Not the usual waterbased popsicles that we are normally used to.My dad got the peach flavored popsicle which i didnt care for too much, but he seemed to like it. It was a little too sour for a popsicle flavor for me based off of the little bite that I took.I would have loved to give them 5 stars today based off of the flavor of the 2 popsicles that I had alone. I took off a star because i wanted the other awesome flavors that I've been reading about to have been available too. From reading the other reviews, I can't wait to come back and try the other flavors such as the green tea/matcha. I am an ice cream person and i foresee myself coming back here in the future. Until we meet again Milk and Wood!"
"Omg! This place is a hidden gem in the bustling Chinatown. The combinations of icecreams they have are great! We tried the rolled ice cream and it was very flavorful, came with amazing toppings and was too cute to eat. The service is pretty fast! The ambience is that of a typical icecream store with bright lighting and lots of seating. We tried the mango tango rolled icecream, flower world rolled icecream and Hello! Taro rolled icecream. The flower world rolled iceccream just blew my mind. The combination of dragonfruit and mango was so good, I never thought those flavors would work well together. The Mango tango was great too! Reminded me a lot of the Alphonso mango. The Hello! Taro was interesting and came with great toppings, especially the cute panda cookies. A must visit, especially after eating spicy food."
"I ABSOLUTELY LOVE COMING HERE! This Is Definitely My Comfort Zone As Far As Food. The whole business is black-owned, as well as family owned, so it always give a welcoming warm feel whenever you walk in. Every single item I have tried has been a 10/10 and that is no where near an exaggeration. Thank you guys so much for...just making life so much better."
"Popped in here last minute as I was leaving the building after the skyline view. Perfect for your late night snack.I got 2x of their traditional burgers and I couldn't resist ordering their hot dog with added crispy onions. This meal was the perfect stamp to end a wonderful night after viewing the Chicago skyline up above."
"This is the thirteenth location in the state and the fifth one here. This is another Kiosk in Gino's East. This is smaller than the Skokie location. The staff and service is wonderful."
"Mm mm mm the flavors are melting on my tongue. Literally. Really nice staff serving great tasting desserts and treats!Very cool setting with plenty of space for big gatherings too. 5 stars, recommend visiting! P.s. keep an eye out for generous promotions on their Instagram."
"Incredible staff and super smooth gelato! You can definitely tell they make everything homemade and I loved the unique flavors."
"Black Dog Gelato has two locations - this one in Ukrainian Village and one in Logan Square. They offer a variety of flavors, rotating and seasonal (such as Espresso Chip, Yuzu Licorice Sorbet, Coconut Almond Chip, and even dairy-free options) - even the pickiest eater will find a flavor they'll like! They also offer a Pint Club membership, where you get a pint every month, discounts, promotions, and early access to special menus. We came here after having a meal in the area - the place is small, but clean, and there were only a handful of tables. Staff were very friendly, and you can sample the flavors in their case until you find one (or, several) that you'd like to order. We ordered:+Mint Cookie - filled with Oreo cookies and peppermint oil+Malted Vanilla Pretzel - an Ovaltine-flavored gelato with milk chocolate covered pretzels+Mango Hibiscus Sorbet - with mangos and hibiscus flower+Raspberry Cider Sorbet - raspberries and apple cider vinegar+Kibana Sorbet - made with kiwis and bananasThe gelato was thick and creamy, and you can get yours in a cup or a cone.Limited restricted street parking in the area.+tasty gelato+friendly service+limited restricted street parking available"
"Have never been disappointed with anything I've tried from here. Everything is great including the staff, they're always very kind. They get super busy sometimes but they try to get everything done as quick as possible without being sloppy with your order. Only suggestion for them would be to have more employees staffed per shift, I feel guilty ordering multiple things because I see how busy the staff is taking care of customers in the store while also preparing all the Ubereats and Grubhub orders."
"Great ice cream parlor in Lincoln Square! Came to try the Superman ice cream and was not disappointed, this was real deal Superman take it from a Superman connoisseur :) The strawberry was also really good and the service was really good. Definitely recommend!!Pro Tip: Cash, Venmo, Cash App - No Debit or Credit"
"I feel a little ridiculous paying so much for a smoothie ($5.95 for a small without tax), but it was really good! I got the Tropical Mango. Super sweet, but that's how I like it. Now I'm starting to wonder about the sugar content...hmmmmm. :)"
"Was in the neighborhood for a cheeseburger hankering. All in all, it was just okay and not as good as I remember it being.I have to say their fresh cut potato fries are a staple, tasted exactly how I remembered.Good for a fry and coke snack. Burger was just okay and it was a bit overpriced.Solid 3"
"I've visited this gem a few times over the years for their delicioso Mangonadas. Today, I decided to try the Doritolocos... and go with my small mangonada later. So let me start with this place is always clean and the people there are always friendly and professional. I sat outside and enjoyed my amped up doritos nachos in a bag outside. I was interrupted twice by people walking by and commenting so I think I gave them some extra business while there. The doritolocos is alot but pretty good! I couldn't finish it all but the bites I had were flavorful. I could have done without the pork in it. I'm not sure what kind it is exactly but the look of it reminded me of.... calamari. Anyway, would get this again with out.My mangonada was perfection as always. I'll be there again soon."
"Came to this place in Little Italy that has ice cream. It has a pretty small but good amount of flavors. KURIMU has a few locations, including this one close to UIC. Has kind of an Asian theme going on. The prices are okay as far as quality. A pretty limited amount of flavors. It's got a few interesting ones. These go beyond the typical chocolate and stuff. Asian themes are as expected. It's about $6 a scoop. Certainly that's kind of a lot. This is high quality though. Last time had a non dairy flavor. The regular flavors include mango and purple yam among the more unusual. Good Asian style ice cream. It's located on Taylor at Racine. The only bad thing is it's limited for vegans."
