"I always know of the existence of this restaurant, but for some reason we just never came here until tonight. It turned out better than I expected. Although the entrance looks unassuming, the interior is tastefully decorated. Service is friendly. Food is properly priced with decent portions. We had the mini sampler, a chicken wrap and a lamb bowl--all taste great. Overall, we are satisfied and plan to come back again in the future."
"Stopped in here on a Friday early evening for dinner. You order at the counter and then they call you when your order is ready. I thought the prices were very good for the portions you got. I enjoyed a hummus bowl that had veggies in it and falafel. I got a meal so i picked a salad and a bottle of water to go with it. There was so much food! My boyfriend liked his dinner as well! The restaurant looked fairly new. Nicely decorated and clean. I will be back for another hummus bowl!"

"Do not come here in a rush! Everything is cooked to order and you must allow extra time - which for us was worth it. 2 pita sandwiches (One Sabich and One Falafel) to go took 25 minutes and ran close to $27.Nothing is cheap these days - but the quality here is wonderful. Big stuffed pitas with fresh tomatoes, cucumber, cabbage slaw and amba. Luscious char-grilled eggplant.Classic Sabich and so tasty!Again - slow service but worth the wait."
"I am KICKING myself for taking this long to check out Kanella. The service, the food, the price point... it is all worthy of 5 stars. On a Friday night, my friends and I decided we needed a GNO so we made a reservation at Kanella and brought our own bottles of wine. We sat inside because it's been disgustingly hot out, but they have outdoor seating, too! We opted to try the tasting menu and I am so glad we did. We were a group of 5 people total, so we got one of each meze. For our mains we did ground lamb, spanakopita, falafel, and chicken shish. For dessert we got one of everything and two kunefes.. because obviously. My meze favorites included the shepherd salad, hummus, muhammara, seared halloumi, and cyprus potato chips. The chicken shish was the best main by a long shot. The desserts were all hits, but my favorite was the kunefe.I loved this meal so much that on Saturday night I ordered takeout because I needed more of the hummus, shepherd's salad, and chicken shish.TLDR: Kanella is amazing, a BYOB, and worth every penny. Come with a group and try the tasting option so you can have one of every meze and most of the main options."
"Moshava has been on my radar for a while from their popups at Herman's Coffee Shop, and when I saw them at Manayunk StEAT Fest, I shavad mo way through the crowds and got in line, and once I got my food all I wanted was mo to shava in my mouth! They were busy and looked a bit overwhelmed and it took a while to get the food, but it was so good! There were options of 3 bowls- shnitzel, falafel, and shwarma, priced at about $15-16 I think? All came with rice and chick peas, and there were other options for some sides like hummus, fries and tater tots. The best thing we got were the lamb pita pockets- highly recommend those and the sauce was so good! We also really enjoyed the shnitzel and lamb shwarma with bok choy. The green spicy zhug sauce was super spicy! This place israeli delicious, highly recommend following them on ig to find out where you can find them!"
"Apparently, this restaurant used to be a small, mostly take-out lunch locale. Not anymore! Funky dining room with a beautiful bar and great vibes. If you've never tried orange wine, this is the place to do so (Trebbiano Spoletino Orange). So crisp and refreshing, served chilled. The skins of the grapes are what makes it orange in color. We love all-things-hummus, and we couldn't sample the menu fast enough. The Masabacha Hummus and Turkish Hummus were delicious. The soft and pillowy pita bread accompaniment enhanced our love. For our second course, we sampled the Petrozilla. We loved the crunch and tang of the pomegranates. Entrees included the Chicken Schnitzel and the Smoked Cabbage. Who knew cabbage could be so delicious? We realized we needed an additional item, so the Moroccan Cigars were up next (three to an order... the four of us made it work). The Tehina-Date Ice Cream Sandwich was incredible. I didn't have high expectations, but wow, this was unique and fantastic. Our server was so attentive and sweet. She kept us laughing. This place is a must try!"
"What's not to like about a classic Philly Cheesesteak with the cheese whiz? Adding onion rings on top just to add more of a crunch! Rana's is clean and pretty quick. Just ask to have everything made halal and they'll be more then happy to do so"
"Food was excellent Pepsi is a plus Service amazing and friendly Ambiance was okay. Table had a serious wobble."
"Zara is in the mall food court. The food takes a few minutes to come out because they cook it fresh on the spot for you! It's worth the wait. The food has savory spice, not excessive heat spice. Wings are well cooked, crispy and meaty. Not too exciting for me. I was hoping for more flavor or a sauce or a dry rub... something to boost them up. However, the bbq lamb was SO GOOD! A little drippy from the sauces but well worth it. Holy cow (it is halal after all)! My bro-in-law said the chicken salad was dynamite. The guys behind the counter may have a flat affect, but they definitely care about that they are serving you! I would gladly return for more!"
"Yummy! I had sabich & my friend had a Falafel sandwich. I was in Israel recently & this place is as good!"
"I stopped in this market more for just the food. No matter what time my day it is, The mood is always peaceful and welcoming here. There's always a nice line for the buffet and understandably because it's one of the few places that really makes home style, Middle Eastern food and you can do some grocery shopping. Today I ordered lamb with rice and mixed vegetables. I hadn't been by here in a while but everything is just as good as I remember. I can't say enough how awesome it is to come here and get food and to have conversation with fellow patrons and staff. It's definitely a treasure to have a 24 -hour market like this in the neighborhood."
"The discovery of this amazing eatery came down to pure luck, location, and other reviews but I will be back because the entire lunch experience was absolutely OUTSTANDING!!!First, don't come with a group of friends because there is no room for groups but if you are meeting a friend for lunch or doing lunch alone you can't go wrong!!SUPERB SERVICE ... the two gentlemen who were behind the counter were helpful and so friendly! I loved being able to carry on a conversation throughout the meal and their concern with whether or not we enjoyed lunch.Actually, I should point out that the meal I purchased at Ny Gyro & Grill was both my lunch and dinner because the portion of their delicious food was enough to serve as both meals.I went with the recommendation, which was perfectly prepared and had a great flavor but when offered their homemade hot sauce I definitely added it! Another plus for some their meat is halal!"

Aroma Mediterranean has been on my list for awhile. My husband and I decided to do a date night and finally got to experience this place. We unfortunately had a bad experience. We waited to get seated for awhile, but after we finally got seated, the food took 40+ min to come out. It was a mess. Everyone was waiting on their food. I only give three stars because the waiter told us it's not normal for this long of a wait. The food was pretty tasty though. I enjoy the hummus and chicken shawarma. If we ever come back again, I will make sure I update my review.

I'm not that well versed in Middle Eastern cuisine but I have had The Halal Guys before so I kind of had an idea of what I would be getting at Bisho's. My co worker happens to love Chicken Shawarma so she ordered this from Bisho's and shared some with me. It was very good and the portion was huge. I placed an order of my own a few days later.I went with the Beef/Lamb Rice Bowl and got the recommended toppings except onions. These toppings included tomato, cucumber, lettuce and some kind of pickled vegetable I could not identify. All of this was topped with a Tahini sauce and I think it was this sauce that ruined the dish for me. I should have done some homework or asked for the sauce on the side. I guess I thought because it was white it would be akin to the Halal Guys famous white sauce but it was not that at all. It tasted sour to me and unappealing. Because they give a generous portion I shared the rest with my mom. I also don't think I like lamb and beef mixed together either. I would definitely try them again but I would stick with the chicken and whatever sauce comes with that.I also got the babagnooj and understood that it was eggplant which I like baked in the oven so I thought this would not be bad. It wasn't bad but I was not prepared for the amount of garlic. So much so that I could not eat any more of it for my lunch because I feared having to speak to customers with that on my breath. This was the type of garlic saturation that gets in your pores.

Different cheesesteak #1094 in the last five years. I was watching my video and remembering how much I loved this cheesesteak. Then I saw my receipt, $15.95. 9' inch cheesesteak. Now if I was with someone that really wanted to have dinner in Media, this would be my place. It is BYOB so I could save a few bucks there. As far as a cheesesteak, it was very good. It was very well made. All the pieces worked well together. Something gave it a flavor boost. Guest eater Spunky D thought it was the fried onions.

Still so delicious. Everything on the menu is well seasoned and portioned well to the point where you're not feeling heavy or super stuffed by the end of it.

We have been waiting for our reservation ever since this place re-opened with a re-imagined full dining menu while still serving up the classic hummus it's known for! It was everything and more! It's a full dining room and then there's a kitchen towards the back where you can see all the action taking place. We loved the food options - very inventive and super tasty! The service was so quick and informative! They were extra sweet and provided us a dessert on the house as we were celebrating an anniversary! The little custom touches along with the impeccable food and service earns this place the coveted 5 star review - highly recommend!

Yum! We go here a lot. I love their chicken kabab (joojeh kabab), and I have never liked it anywhere; I find chicken breast too dry about 95% of the time. The joojeh is good on a salad or on the platter; I usually get it on the salad, because they have a chopped salad that I really love. My husband always gets the koobideh (ground meat kabab) on the platter, with rice and grilled tomatoes, and we always get the Caesar salad with the platter (you get one free side with platters). Strangely, it's the yummiest Caesar salad, and it always makes me wonder how a restaurant manages to have such fresh, crunchy, delicious lettuce and perfect ultra-thin-sliced parmesan that's so much better than what we make at home? One of the great mysteries of the universe.

"Came here for lunch with some friends, and we all really enjoyed it! I got the chicken and waffles. The chicken was crispy and tender, and the waffles were well done as well! The service was quick and the restaurant itself was very nice inside and was very modern. Overall had a great experience! I would definitely come back!"
"Al-Sham is such a gem, and the food is amazing! Prices are very reasonable, the proportions are generous, the flavors are *chef's kiss* and the menu is overwhelmingly huge!We had the family meal #3 a few months ago but we just had their wings (naked and breaded) and their sampler and all I can say is... don't sleep on their American menu! The wings were great and the sauces were generous as well. They make the food really fast, great service and good overall vibes!"
"My friends and I came here for a weekly dinner one night. We have all heard good things from this hole in the wall restaurant. This is my first time trying Yemani food! We each got Samboosa to try which is a flaky pastry with meat and cheese. The sauce that came with it had a kick to it. For my entree I got the Chicken mandi. Its a big piece of chicken on a bed of spiced rice and veggies. Delicious! The chicken was fall off the bone and the spices were on point. We enjoyed our meal and the prices weren't bad at all!The only negatives was that you had to buy your own drinks (including waters) and the bathroom was alittle dirty. Other than that it was a great meal with friends :)"
"If the wait is a little long don't worry, the food comes out quick! Delicious entrees, very simple menu, music is a bit loud and staff are genuinely friendly. This is truly a family owned establishment and I love it."
"I was headed to the Academy of Music for a 7:30 PM show, and this was a convenient choice that was right around the corner. Luckily, it was the middle of the week, so it was easy to just pop in.This is a pretty basic place, no fancy bells and whistles, with one guy pretty much handling all the front of house duties. He was fast, congenial and answered questions.Since I wasn't starving, I opted for a simple beef schwarma wrap. It hit the spot. Next time if I'm hungrier, I'll get some other appetizers."
"Wow, I have only tried the sampler platter; but this is the best babaganoush I've ever. Also the muhammara one ofnthe best ones. The whole plate was amazing! The service was quick, friendly, professional, and very quick. The place is clean and fresh, very inviting. You order at the counter and can take out or eat in.Located in a plaza, this gives plenty of plaza parking.I am very happy Damas is there as I will go often!"
"My friend picked this restaurant for us to meet up at on Saturday for lunch. Neither one of us had been there before. You order at the counter and they cook it and bring it to you.I prefer to eat off of real plates and not given to go containers at the table I'm going to sit and eat at.So I would order take out from here moving forward. Food was good! Service was friendly!"
"Wonderful flavors and menu!!! My new favorite restaurant. They are halal and offer meals deals for those of us on a budget. The staff were welcoming and very helpful with choosing a meal. The baklava is probably the BEST I have ever had. The restaurant and restroom was super clean and free from clutter. I think my favorite part besides the food and how quick the staff worked was the many different cultures of people coming to pick up food or dine-in. The samosas were delicious and flaky with a nice green, cilantro-y sauce. The pita was fresh and went nicely with the hummus and garlic sauce. I was recommended to try the pineapple Barbican malt drink (non-alcoholic) which was sooo tasty and not overly sweet. The mango lassi was a bit sour, but I think that's because they don't add a ton of sweetener."
"Maybe this is irrational to say but the UCity food trucks were one of three things that kept me sane during my undergraduate career and to them I owe the world, much less a 5 star Yelp review. Yes, this was my first time at this particular truck and no, it wasn't distinct from any of the other halal trucks I've frequented, but hey. Cheap, quick, tasty, could probably last two meals but I was feeling woozy so I ate it all at once = all a girl can ask for. Thank you, I love you, and good night."
"Still there - Still just $5 (for lunch WITH a drink - I get a bottle of water) - Still as good as you can expect for street-cart food.I get the lamb over Salad with "white sauce" - and it is plenty of food for lunch. And - it's five bucks!"
"A few things to know if you've never been to Falafel Time:1. This is a predominantly take-out business. The space is small, and there is one small table inside that I have never seen anyone using.2. Their signage says they are cash only, but they also have signage stating they accept cards. I have never had an issue using a card, but as a small business of course cash is preferred.3. While the name is Falafel Time, the main event here is the chicken shawarma. The first time I tried Falafel Time, a friend and I called in our order and walked over to pick it up. We got a chicken shawarma platter with fries instead of rice, beef kabobs, hummus and pita, and a salad. The portions were HUGE, we had enough to feed four people. The hummus portion alone was super generous, especially considering the price point. And it was some of the most fresh and delicious hummus I have had in a while. The beef kabobs were a bit dry for my preference, but this did not matter because that chicken shawarma platter was out of this freakin world! For a recent takeout lunch order, I ordered through Yelp. I decided to add falafel to my chicken shawarma platter and the whole meal came out to $15. The platter is a very generous service and it comes with a small salad too. The falafel was good, not my favorite ever. But as always, the chicken shawarma delivered."
"Super cute, good food and great service! We dined with my husband and parents for a birthday dinner on the patio and had a great experience. Our server, Dylan, was helpful with recommendations and answering questions. We shared the mezze, spanakopita, lamb shank, chicken spinach feta, moussaka, and shrimp orzo and all were delicious! Amongst five people that was more than enough and the dishes were easy to share family style, which I always prefer. As it got dark, the outdoor ambient lighting came on and it was very pleasant to enjoy coffee and baklava while we chatted."
"This is inside the small food court area of Franklin/Philadelphia Mills mall near to Old Navy/Walmart/movie theatre. Food was pretty good. Ordered 2 combo over rice platters ($8)-not bad at all! The combo gets you a choice of two items to go over the seasoned yellow rice, along with salad and pita on the side. We got Lamb with chicken and fried fish (choice of talapia or whiting) with chickpeas. Meats were very well seasoned and the salad that comes with was fresh. The whiting was also flavorful and fried nicely (be careful of the bones). The pita was freshly grilled with a little crunch-very good. Rice was ok. We ate in the food court to avoid the food smell permeating the place with the open kitchen. The woman taking the orders seemed a bit annoyed by a customer asking questions about the offerings, but it got sorted out. I'd return if at this mall."
"The food here is pretty similar to NY gyro in Philly pike. The prices are fair and the portions are generous The little mixed vegetables always makes me feel less guilty about eating greasy meats piled onto a bed of greasy riceToday was my first time getting the fried fish, pretty good. I will add that to my regular rotation nowThey food is made fresh but is done so quickly. The salads are precut so you can point to what you wantThe guys at the grill are nice and friendlyI'm glad we have a lamb over rice place in the burbs now, I'm never driving to Philly pike again"
"Al Sham, I respect your hustle. I normally order delivery and wonder why it takes so long (which they do give you the appropriate wait time on grubhub) One day I actually went in to order and it's a two person crew trying their best to turn order those orders. I felt a little bad about being inpatient. My go to is the salmon salad; sooo fresh and delicious. It comes with a dressing similar to a lemon vinaigrette, tart, light and refreshing. If you need something heavier, you would need to ask.My daughter gets the salmon hoagie which is really good as well. The HUMMUS. The best. I don't even want store brought anymore. Via the app you can add more garnishes, but I leave it as-is with extra pita :)"
"Stop here often since it's right down the street from our personal training studio. The menu has interesting food choices that are good. And the price is very reasonable. Chris Vtrainers Personal Training."
"Absolutely a MUST in Phila if you are able to nab a reservation OR just wait for a bar seat right when they open at 5. It was my first time here in a decade and the food is just as good as ever with exceptional service. Our server, Anthony, went well above and beyond to make sure that we had a great experience end-to-end. I would highly recommend the lamb shoulder or the duck - you can add an entree for $55 as well. Both were excellent and the duck is in limited quantity so be sure to grab an earlier seating if you are able to as they tend to run out by the second round of the evening. It's worth the wait on either Resy or for a bar seat."
"My wife and my favorite food in Ardmore. Everything we've had at tabouli has been great--ironically, the tablouli is probably our least favorite thing--and we pick up from here regularly. It is a tad on the expensive side, but what in this town isn't?"
"Sound the Halarm! No need to risk NJ Transit & treck to NYC midtown to get top notch Americanized Middle Eastern chicken & rice food cart platters - some of the tastiest are served on Temple's campus a skip n' a jump from the Cecil B subway stop. Yes, the line snaking from the boxy cart to the student center's entrance is worth the (relatively short) wait. The three (skinny) bros in matching shirts huddled in the tiny food mobile whip up some crazy delish chicken and lamb over rice. My life may have hit bottom when I dream of food cart combo platters instead of Genie - but, hey, no need to fret, NY Gyro Lunch's platters are absolutely crave-worthy! And cheap - five bucks gets you a platter, a free soda, and, count 'em, three smiles! The food is "quality" quality - did these guys apprentice in NYC? Heck, Philly may have taken a bite outta the big apple this time. The hacked up chicken thigh meat is fragrant with lemon and coriander, sprinkled with grilled green peppers and onions, pinched with just enough salt to keep you craving extra forkfuls. The lamb is tender, gamey, peppery. The rice is moist, long grain, cumin-scented and tumeric-kissed, with a hint of oil. The plain Jane shredded iceberg & sliced tomato salad is, respectively, crunchy and crisp. The hot sauce is, actually, habanera hawt, the kind of hot that seers your tongue, coats the inside of yer mouth, and lingers in the back of your throat like a nagging smoker's cough. It's the kind of hot that'll make you think twice before asking for "extra", but ask anyway - mixed with the lamb bits, it resembles a Mid East rendition of Texas chili hot dog sauce. Fortunately for those of a milder persuasion, the cooks do not load it on, but, if your buds are of the anesthetized type, the happy purveyors are glad to give you extra. The white sauce is subtle, a hint of cucumber-vinegar tang that cools and complements the pungent spice of the meats. Importantly, the cart doesn't try to cover up funky ingredients or poor prep with litters of white sauce - they "drizzle" fine white lines, "pure as the driven snow", atop the platter. So, you have a finely proportioned meal, where each flavor is instantly recognizable on its own until, mashed together into a mess of yellows and greens and reds and whites, combines to create a singularly phenomenal dish. Gosh, it's Halal-good!"
"We found this no frills, small kabob restaurant off the highway on one of our road trips to DC when we pulled over for gas. If you know about kabob spots, you know little spots like this pack that flavor! We decided on the Chicken Tika and Beef Kofta With rice as well as the Chicken Tika which wasn't on the menu but they were kind enough to accommodate since the wife doesn't eat beef. Our meals were wonderful, as expected. The spices were perfect and our dishes came with two different types of rice. The most memorable to me was the cilantro rice. As a Latina who loves cilantro, I've never had rice like this. It was sooo flavorful!! Overall, the service and food were delish!! We'll always stop here on our trips if we pass through Delaware."
"I was excited to know this place opened up, i normally go to KOP one but willow grove is close to me, i missed grand opening but today i could go since it was on the way to my place from work I had such a high hopes since this place is newI ordered regular platter with chicken Chicken was disappointingly dry and hard Looked like almost running out of it They should have kept it more moist, fresh and warm. Fried rice itself was very hot but the chicken was not."
"It is so wonderful to see this restaurant gain traction among locals and foodies alike. The portions are wonderful, the meat dishes succulent (lamb could use a tad more salt/spices), and the fish is absolutely a must get! We arrived for dinner at 5pm and some of the items have already been sold out (I'm looking at you, lamb-soup).Grab a friend, skip breakfast, and enjoy a terrific meal here at Malooga.Must get: liver, fish, lentil soupMeh: lambMissed out: dessert"
"Good, but not amazing Persian food. As Dave L noted, it is a little unassuming spot which would be perfect for a causal meal. The lamb was a solid choice if you are seeking a recommendation. While I believe all dishes come with rice, only a few come with anything else. However, the portions are fair and will fill you up. Of course, if you aren't quite full there is always Baklava."
