"First off we were supposed to get Popeyes spicy chicken sandwich but the line was too long so we decided to try this place since we love halal food but we usually get it from those little food trucks. This place is pretty new and clean. Staff greeted us as soon as we walked up to him to place our order. We both got the lamb gyro. Wow my first bite was so delicious. I feel like they offer fresh food. The lamb was nice and tender and flavorful. Wish I would have ask for extra white and hot sauce it was really good. Stop by when your craving something spicy and flavorful!"
"I was brought here by a friend. I would have never known this place existed had he not.Walking in, everything was clean and in order. The lady behind the counter was so genuinely nice. She was very patient with us while we ordered, and changed our minds about 5 times. She explained, and answered questions all with keeping her upbeat demeanor.I ordered a turkey burger. It didn't knock me off of my feet, but it was good. I liked te seasoned fries that came on the side. The menu is pretty extensive. I would return to try other options."

"Stopped in here on a Friday early evening for dinner. You order at the counter and then they call you when your order is ready. I thought the prices were very good for the portions you got. I enjoyed a hummus bowl that had veggies in it and falafel. I got a meal so i picked a salad and a bottle of water to go with it. There was so much food! My boyfriend liked his dinner as well! The restaurant looked fairly new. Nicely decorated and clean. I will be back for another hummus bowl!"
"Got the chicken and lamb over rice and chicken over rice both with white and red sauce and it was awesome! Chicken is seasoned really well and the lamb was tender and flavorful. Would definitely order from here again!"
"Good service but sometimes slow. They offered pakora on the house with side sauce which was delicious. Also the best karak chai."
"I'm always greeted with a smile and a "what can I get for you, sister?"The friendliest food truck in the area, big enough portions that I usually get a full meal and a little snack from it. Can customize what you order and they do it with a smile. It's in a great location with really good hours for those late dinners, and every time I walk on that corner, when I weigh the options of all the yummy places, the food truck usually wins out. Try the fish over rice, if you usually get chicken, it's fried and delicious. They give you a drink with your food and are always clean. White sauce is tangy and I drench my chicken over rice in it, and the hot sauce is a good balance of flavors and slight spice. Try it next time you want some street food. Even the cheesesteak is classic!"
"What's not to like about a classic Philly Cheesesteak with the cheese whiz? Adding onion rings on top just to add more of a crunch! Rana's is clean and pretty quick. Just ask to have everything made halal and they'll be more then happy to do so"
"Zara is in the mall food court. The food takes a few minutes to come out because they cook it fresh on the spot for you! It's worth the wait. The food has savory spice, not excessive heat spice. Wings are well cooked, crispy and meaty. Not too exciting for me. I was hoping for more flavor or a sauce or a dry rub... something to boost them up. However, the bbq lamb was SO GOOD! A little drippy from the sauces but well worth it. Holy cow (it is halal after all)! My bro-in-law said the chicken salad was dynamite. The guys behind the counter may have a flat affect, but they definitely care about that they are serving you! I would gladly return for more!"
"Solid lunch option adjacent to UPenn and HUP.Really enjoyed my lamb over rice. Great spot to grab some food and find a nice park bench to eat and watch the world go by."
"Food was great, milkshake was pretty good. No inside, so be prepared to eat somewhere else. Would definitely go back"
"I have to say after a good recommendation one of my co-workers, I finally give a shot to this place, I have to throw on that this restaurant is a Pakistani approved place by one of my other co-worker. I came with couples of co-workers and had a family-style dinner. The restaurant is located in the city with make parking a little difficult, but the restaurant is pretty big so is not that hard to get a table. They don't serve alcohol or allow it from outside like most of the restaurant in Philly with making it a little turn off but the food makes it worth it. We order the fried chicken, curry goat, biryani, and some bread. One of the best combinations of that night was dipping the bread on the curry coat sauce making it very delicious. The fried chicken had a good seasoning a bit spicy with you could taste it at the end, with it make it unique and very had to resist the amazing flavor, we ended ordering another one, this has to be the most order plate everytime you come here. The biryani was ok, it had a good taste but not a fan of it on this place the VIP of the night was chicken for sure. I can see myself coming back to eat more fried chicken."
"Goat and chicken, exquisitely spiced and fried to perfection, appears upon your plate. You take a bite, and are transported to the world's far hemisphere, where flavor is not forbidden and your taste buds are elevated with the experience. All this in an unassuming strip mall in Delaware!"

I'm not that well versed in Middle Eastern cuisine but I have had The Halal Guys before so I kind of had an idea of what I would be getting at Bisho's. My co worker happens to love Chicken Shawarma so she ordered this from Bisho's and shared some with me. It was very good and the portion was huge. I placed an order of my own a few days later.I went with the Beef/Lamb Rice Bowl and got the recommended toppings except onions. These toppings included tomato, cucumber, lettuce and some kind of pickled vegetable I could not identify. All of this was topped with a Tahini sauce and I think it was this sauce that ruined the dish for me. I should have done some homework or asked for the sauce on the side. I guess I thought because it was white it would be akin to the Halal Guys famous white sauce but it was not that at all. It tasted sour to me and unappealing. Because they give a generous portion I shared the rest with my mom. I also don't think I like lamb and beef mixed together either. I would definitely try them again but I would stick with the chicken and whatever sauce comes with that.I also got the babagnooj and understood that it was eggplant which I like baked in the oven so I thought this would not be bad. It wasn't bad but I was not prepared for the amount of garlic. So much so that I could not eat any more of it for my lunch because I feared having to speak to customers with that on my breath. This was the type of garlic saturation that gets in your pores.

For me, this was 5 star, as I don't care about plastic utensils, empty tables (primarily takeout), a little chilly inside and seeing a cramped kitchen. Whoever that old guy in the kitchen is, he sure knows how to cook. The Chaat appetizer was a good prelude to delicious lamb saag and chicken korma, both very creamy and full of tender meat, which we took half back home. The rich sauce may not be to everyone's liking, especially for saag, but it enhanced the meal for me, at a price a few bucks less than most Indian restaurants in the area. Also, the manager/server was a very nice guy. Definitely coming back for takeout, maybe for sit-down.

I live a half block away from this truck, but if I lived miles away...I would still come. The food is always fresh, the service is wonderful and earnest and I'm not kidding...some of the best falafel I've ever tasted. The price can't be beat, either. If you want a bargain without compromising good taste, order food from here. Breakfast, lunch, dinner or snack. This is your place.

I was looking for something not fried or greasy at the Willow Grove Mall food court, and thought Zara Halal Grill looked fresh and tasty. My sister and I each ordered a salad with different kinds of chicken and hummus and pita. The whole ordering situation was a little chaotic, like they did not have a system in place to order, pay, then wait, etc. It was kind of a free for all with no real direction and communication. It also took about 15 minutes, which is significantly more than the Chic Fil A next door, for example. BUT, with that being said this place still deserves 5 stars. It was worth the wait, and very tasty. The wait and somewhat chaotic ordering process is clearly because these guys are cooking as the orders come, fresh, on the grill. The chicken tikka was spicy and delicious, and the chicken kabob was also. Both were full of flavor and served on a bed of lettuce with tomatos, onions, olives, and feta cheese. I don't like tzatiki so I didn't get that, but the hot sauce it comes with is delicious. Also, the pita and hummus were super yum.

"I stopped in this market more for just the food. No matter what time my day it is, The mood is always peaceful and welcoming here. There's always a nice line for the buffet and understandably because it's one of the few places that really makes home style, Middle Eastern food and you can do some grocery shopping. Today I ordered lamb with rice and mixed vegetables. I hadn't been by here in a while but everything is just as good as I remember. I can't say enough how awesome it is to come here and get food and to have conversation with fellow patrons and staff. It's definitely a treasure to have a 24 -hour market like this in the neighborhood."
"Following the advice of Dan A, I didn't let the idea of grabbing a bite from a place located in a gas station bother me. I now will share the same advice. Zara Halal food might not be where you'd expect it, however, they do make some good food.We both ordered the combo. We got lamb & falafel and lamb & chicken. The portions on the protein were heavy. They taste was incredible as well. I will admit to getting the hot sauce on the side. While it wasn't as hot as I expected, I did enjoy the meal more with a bit less sauce.Prices are cheap. Not the cheapest meal I've ever gotten cheap, but definitely a good value for the portions. And while there isn't much dine in space, the staff was patient and friendly. I'd return if I am back in the area."
"I had the grape leaves platter - baba ganoush, hummus, a salad and grape leaves? Yes please. Everything was good, but not mind-blowing (which isn't a fair bar for anyone). The fresh mango juice hit the spot!I love that there's a shop attached to the restaurant. Many of the patrons seemed to know the server and be regulars, and the shop is handy for picking up staples like cous cous (SO many options) and some necessary but hard-to-get (in my neck of the woods) items like grape leaves for when you want to make your own"
"THE BEST HALAL CART In all of Philadelphia! Fresh, fast and tasty! I usually get the chicken over rice, but have migrated to the falafel sandwich which could not be better."
"Al-Sham is such a gem, and the food is amazing! Prices are very reasonable, the proportions are generous, the flavors are *chef's kiss* and the menu is overwhelmingly huge!We had the family meal #3 a few months ago but we just had their wings (naked and breaded) and their sampler and all I can say is... don't sleep on their American menu! The wings were great and the sauces were generous as well. They make the food really fast, great service and good overall vibes!"
"I've had Kabobi's food twice now. Once for takeout and once for eat in. Parking wasn't hard to find in their lot. The staff was friendly and the menus are pretty straight forward. The eat-in experience was ok, but the inside felt more like a fast food environment. Plastic ware was available as well as serve yourself fountain drinks and water. (The self serve filtered water they have for customers was a nice option over bottled)The takeout experience wasn't great. The food was ready on time, but we ended up spending over $120 for four meals which is ridiculous for the entrees we ordered. The chicken tikka masala was below average, the sauce was too sweet and more like a bastardized tomato sauce. The rice lacked flavor and the lentils were sweet and not appetizing. I will admit that the dry chicken tikka was pretty good. They were skewered charred on the outside and had a decent charcoal flavor, but again the rice was boring as well as the chickpeas. My buddy had Kheer (aka rice pudding) for dessert and enjoyed it. My eat in experience was for lunch. The staff looked like they were gearing up for the day so wait times were a bit long. After talking to the guy up front about the various menu offerings and their indoor charcoal grill, I ordered a chicken kabob roll upon his recommendation. A kabob roll sounded intriguing - chicken kabob with lettuce and sauce rolled inside of naan bread with mint chutney on the side. While waiting for my order, I watched the front display slowly load up with various kabobs and lamb chops as the previous nights Sixers game was replaying on the single TV they have mounted on a wall. If you don't order something fresh off the menu they do have combo meal choices available for less of a wait. They consisted of several menu options in a warming station by the checkout counter that could be mixed with rice and naan. When my roll arrived I was digging the aroma. Two fresh kabobs wrapped inside of a soft warm naan bread had me drooling. Unfortunately, I wasn't blown away by the flavors, but It was still a pretty cool idea. I'd return to try their smokey wings, but other than that much better quality and cheaper options can be found in Bensalem."
"My friends and I came here for a weekly dinner one night. We have all heard good things from this hole in the wall restaurant. This is my first time trying Yemani food! We each got Samboosa to try which is a flaky pastry with meat and cheese. The sauce that came with it had a kick to it. For my entree I got the Chicken mandi. Its a big piece of chicken on a bed of spiced rice and veggies. Delicious! The chicken was fall off the bone and the spices were on point. We enjoyed our meal and the prices weren't bad at all!The only negatives was that you had to buy your own drinks (including waters) and the bathroom was alittle dirty. Other than that it was a great meal with friends :)"
"Ordered takeout for lunch - nothing fancy, just a Samosa and Chicken Korma. When I arrived 10 mins after placing order, food was ready and handed over to me with a smile. The place was packed! Lovely to see.I ate my takeout at home - everything was delicious.Samosa was tasty, not spicy and not greasy at all.Chicken Korma was also rich and tasty, not spicy and the heaps of basmati rice were perfectly cooked.I'll be back!"
"I continue to be amazed by both the quality and quantity of food provided for less than $10! They even throw in a drink. This food truck offers sandwiches, platters over rice, or platters over salad (or a combination of rice and salad). I opt for the platter over salad every time, switching between lamb and falafel. They put white and hot sauce to your preference.I do not know there formal hours, but I typically catch them right before they pack up between 7 and 8pm. The cart is quick with extremely friendly service. Check them out!"
"Woondal offers an exceptional dining experience with their exquisite Indian cuisine. From aromatic curries to flavorful biryanis, each dish is expertly crafted to perfection. The quality of ingredients shines through, creating a delightful culinary journey for your taste buds. With impeccable service and a cozy ambiance, Woondal earns a solid 5/5 rating for its outstanding food and dining experience. I am genuinely excited to go back!"
"Came here since we saw it was new to the area and actually took over the old sandwich spot Monty's. We got the falafels, the chicken and lamb Schwarma sandwich. The service was quick and friendly. The falafel was fresh, moist and and in the cutest heart shape. The sandwiches were good, although I did think they needed a bit of extra sauce not that it was dry or anything but just a hint of extra flavor. I got a side salad with mine that I really enjoyed while husband got fries that were average. We asked for more sauce for the falafels and I think they were going to charge us but was kind enough not to, since it was our first time but now we know. The ambiance was nice, quiet and if you have been to Monty's it was a few tables so pretty small. Overall happy a Mediterranean place took over this spot and will try more food options next time!"
"Good and fresh quality food. Great portion size. Delicious flavors. Customer service above and beyond. I'm sold."
"Solid halal chicken and rice, and my kid gave high marks to the felafel. Both were cooked fresh and fast. I still give the edge to the halal carts in terms of flavor, but there was definitely a freshness to Pasha's (especially the salad accompaniment). Will return!"
"My friend picked this restaurant for us to meet up at on Saturday for lunch. Neither one of us had been there before. You order at the counter and they cook it and bring it to you.I prefer to eat off of real plates and not given to go containers at the table I'm going to sit and eat at.So I would order take out from here moving forward. Food was good! Service was friendly!"
"The food is out of this world!! The people are very friendly too. This is my 2nd visit as I live in Seattle but I would come here every time I am within one hour driving distance"
"Wonderful flavors and menu!!! My new favorite restaurant. They are halal and offer meals deals for those of us on a budget. The staff were welcoming and very helpful with choosing a meal. The baklava is probably the BEST I have ever had. The restaurant and restroom was super clean and free from clutter. I think my favorite part besides the food and how quick the staff worked was the many different cultures of people coming to pick up food or dine-in. The samosas were delicious and flaky with a nice green, cilantro-y sauce. The pita was fresh and went nicely with the hummus and garlic sauce. I was recommended to try the pineapple Barbican malt drink (non-alcoholic) which was sooo tasty and not overly sweet. The mango lassi was a bit sour, but I think that's because they don't add a ton of sweetener."
"I have never head an issue buying a delicious chicken and rice halal meal at this truck. The price, also, is always right, especially in this area where you typically pay an arm and an a leg for lunch. $5-6 dollars for a meal, including a drink? Who can beat that? And... the people here are super nice!"
"Still there - Still just $5 (for lunch WITH a drink - I get a bottle of water) - Still as good as you can expect for street-cart food.I get the lamb over Salad with "white sauce" - and it is plenty of food for lunch. And - it's five bucks!"
"Wife and I decided to check out Plov House after hearing many good things about it. Plov House is a small 9-table 24-hour place but was brightly lit and appeared clean with white tablecloths and plastic covers. Single page menus on the table, and customers were constantly in and out. Surprisingly, every customer coming in was a young male, some singles but most in groups. There's a couple of large refrigerators full of food in containers ready to go. After some language barrier ordering, we ended up pointing to what we wanted on the menu. I tell you EVERYONE who came in ordered Plov and bread. We did, too. Along with the assorted kebabs, lagman soup, and two Samsas. The soup was tomato based with homemade long noodles, beef, celery, peppers, onions, carrots, and celery. Had to alternate between a fork and spoon to eat it. The bread was extra tasty and was great to dip in the soup. The kebabs were fresh, very tender, and came with onion and some pickled hot peppers. My wife liked her samsa but I was getting full and took mine home. But the star of the night was the Plov with the most tender and flavor filled slow cooked rice with lamb, beef, carrots, and onions. I could see why most come in and just order it for however many were in their party. It's that good. Best I've had so maybe as others mentioned it was a fresher batch made. With two bottle Cokes and a wonderful pot of black tea, our meal came to $77 including tax and a small upcharge for credit card payment. Tip was left in cash. I will say that the prices on the bill were slightly higher than what was listed on the menu so be mindful of this. For instance, menu Plov is $14.99 but bill Plov is $16.19. Menu tea is $1.99 but bill tea is $2.15.You have to know that when most of the customers are holding court in their language enjoying their food in a constant stream, that Plov House is doing something right. The service was quite friendly. Highly recommended."
"A few things to know if you've never been to Falafel Time:1. This is a predominantly take-out business. The space is small, and there is one small table inside that I have never seen anyone using.2. Their signage says they are cash only, but they also have signage stating they accept cards. I have never had an issue using a card, but as a small business of course cash is preferred.3. While the name is Falafel Time, the main event here is the chicken shawarma. The first time I tried Falafel Time, a friend and I called in our order and walked over to pick it up. We got a chicken shawarma platter with fries instead of rice, beef kabobs, hummus and pita, and a salad. The portions were HUGE, we had enough to feed four people. The hummus portion alone was super generous, especially considering the price point. And it was some of the most fresh and delicious hummus I have had in a while. The beef kabobs were a bit dry for my preference, but this did not matter because that chicken shawarma platter was out of this freakin world! For a recent takeout lunch order, I ordered through Yelp. I decided to add falafel to my chicken shawarma platter and the whole meal came out to $15. The platter is a very generous service and it comes with a small salad too. The falafel was good, not my favorite ever. But as always, the chicken shawarma delivered."
"Twas a snowy day in Philly and I was in the mood to try something new and I drive by Kabob and Curry almost every day and finally decided to just go for it. For such a tiny takeout place with 2 random slot machines, I didn't expect there would be that many choice on the menu, but there were a good amount! I like that you can pick what level of spice you prefer. I ordered 4 vegetarian samosas, the chicken tikka masala, and the spicy chickpea dish whose name I can't remember right now lolThe food only took 15 min which was great compared to some other places nearby that took a whole hour for similar food. The chicken was SPICY, but it was so tasty! The samosas were tasty as well, but a bit smaller than I expected! Overall the portions were small considering the price, but overall I will surely be visiting again. I still had enough to eat a second meal for tomorrow for breakfast (yes, I eat dinner for breakfast, don't judge me lol)."
"Lovash is one of our go to's for Indian takeout/delivery. As someone who loves Indian but has a dairy allergy, I love that I can get vegan saag here and the tofu vegan saag tastes just like saag paneer to me...winning! The husband really likes their chicken tikka masala or lamb vindaloo. It's quick, inexpensive and high quality, plus portions are most definitely sufficient. Recommended, especially for those with dietary restrictions."
"This is inside the small food court area of Franklin/Philadelphia Mills mall near to Old Navy/Walmart/movie theatre. Food was pretty good. Ordered 2 combo over rice platters ($8)-not bad at all! The combo gets you a choice of two items to go over the seasoned yellow rice, along with salad and pita on the side. We got Lamb with chicken and fried fish (choice of talapia or whiting) with chickpeas. Meats were very well seasoned and the salad that comes with was fresh. The whiting was also flavorful and fried nicely (be careful of the bones). The pita was freshly grilled with a little crunch-very good. Rice was ok. We ate in the food court to avoid the food smell permeating the place with the open kitchen. The woman taking the orders seemed a bit annoyed by a customer asking questions about the offerings, but it got sorted out. I'd return if at this mall."
