To my surprise as the evening got later there was a game night it seems because a dj was handing out bingo sheets throughout the place. It was a pleasant surprise. A lot of people played including myself and the prizes were pretty cool. I just came for drinks but I will be back for both drinks AND food. The bartender was very nice and attentive. This place is clean and the drinks were nicely made. I'd say the bartender i had definitely knew what she was doing my drink was strong. It was called a lavender moon."

They weren't knock-me-over great, but they hit the spot. It was a relaxing way to kill some time in the morning and get a more substantial breakfast than the "bacon, egg, and cheese on white toast" that so many places offer."

Jay C. "Stopped by recently for 8 assorted hoagies and 8 assorted cheese steaks to take on a long trip back to the Washington DC area. All made right after opening time in the morning. The ladies were all wonderful to chat with while waiting. They packaged the meats and the fixings individually in plastic wrap separate from the 'to die for' bread that's the key to a good Philly hoagy or cheese steak. I didn't think of that nor ask for it. All on their initiative once they knew this was a take out to DC. Of course I tipped them big time! Look, I don't know if they are the BEST steaks and hoagies in Philly. But they are the BEST me and my guests - all Philly natives - have had in years."

Morris B. "A friend of mine was having a evening brunch party which I thought was interesting because I never had evening brunch. First thing I noticed when I walked up to the place is that it felt like an event space that was operating as a brunch space in the daytime which was kind of cool. I walked in and they were decorations a DJ lots of lights that were dim and food everywhere! It felt a little compact in there because there were a bunch of people but I'm sure on a regular day there's plenty of space. I would never have noticed this space in the daytime because there are so many little businesses packed on that little block. What's surprise me the most was the strawberry shortcake French toast which was completely amazing. The chicken and waffles was also good. Everything was family style that day so I got to try a little bit of everything but only took pictures of what I actually tried. I'm glad my friend had a party here and put this place on my radar because if I'm in the area again, it'll be the first place I think of in terms of getting breakfast or brunch. I definitely left stuffed and happy!"

That's right - I said it, and I can't believe, but the Rocco's sandwich joint outside HD is actually slinging some great food - from classic sausage and peppers, to their speciality breakfast sandwich - "the gavone." One of the most accurately named sandwiches, because I felt like a pig afterwords, but I enjoyed every second of eating it.This breakfast sando is a combination of eggs, steak, peppers, potatoes, onions, cheese, and their hot sauce. This will fill you up for the entire day, and it was delicious! Only served till 10:30, so don't sleep in and miss it."

Roger K. "We missed the breakfast offered at our hotel, so we searched Yelp for something not far away and saw Nudy's and one other place on Bridge Street. The other place did not appear to be open so we ended up at Nudy's. It turned out to be a good omen.We were seated promptly about 10:30am. The menu is extensive with breakfast being served all day. We started with coffee, $2.99/cup, with refills. My wife ordered the Salmon Florentine ($15.99) - two poached eggs, with spinach and salmon topped with hollandaise sauce, served on an English muffin with home fries. She did not care for the hollandaise sauce and thought the home fries could have spent more time on the griddle getting crisped.I ordered the Farmer's omelet ($12.99) - I don't know how many eggs, but it seemed like more than two, with ham, sausage, peppers, onions, and bacon. It came with a side of home fries, and I chose to add raisin toast for an upcharge of $.35. I agree with my wife that the home fries would have been more to our liking if they were crispier. The toasted raisin bread was very good. It was thickly sliced and flavorful. I also enjoyed my omelet, but I can't say it was outstanding. After reading another reviewer's comment, I do feel obliged to comment that the men's restroom was very clean. I did find it very difficult to connect with Yelp while sitting inside. Initially, my search only found Nudy's - Audubon, so checked in there by mistake."

Vincent G. "The fact that I just visited Sulimay's for the first time, is a personal letdown. I can't imagine how often I would eat here if I lived closer to Girard. If you want a taste of Fishtown, then look no further...this diner has all the feels of what Fishtown represents: from the wait staff, to the art on the walls, to their menu (which has specific callouts and creations that showcase culinary ties to the local neighborhoods).I was completely blown away with my dish, which was scrapple and white fish mix with eggs. I am not embarrassed to say this, but I had an audible expression after my first bite...which immediately drew the attention of my family sitting with me, and they knew that I had ordered the winning plate. This is something that I've never seen on the menu anywhere else, it was the perfect combination of crunchy/spicy/buttery and dense. Also, when they ask you the option of the type of potatoes you want, you have to go with their home fries - unreal!it's a local vibe without the "locals only" expectations. This is absolutely a visitors destination for breakfast or lunch and one that you should try to schedule in, no matter where you're staying at in the city."

Ade B. "Johnny's Hots are known for their hot sausages. You can get a variety of hot sausage sandwiches. On one of my morning walks to Penn Treaty Park I decided to stop by and see for myself if the sausages lived up to the hype. I ordered a Sausage, egg & cheese. It comes on like a hoagie roll. I also saw a tasty looking apple danish and grabbed that too. I sat in the park to eat my meal. I am happy to report that the sausage lived up to the hype. It is just the right amount of hot, not overpowering. And It's very juicy. The sandwich was made with the perfect ratio of sausage to egg to cheese. I devoured it! It was soo good! The roll was slightly chewy, which makes me think it wasn't the freshest. The apple danish was a tasty treat I'm glad that I ordered to end my meal with. The big negative to Johnny's Hots is that it's a cash only business. That's ridiculous in 2022. You lose far more business than you save in fees when u don't accept credit cards. I rarely carry cash, so I can rarely stop here for those mouth watering sausages. Such a shame."

I also order the tuna salad sandwich regularly. And sometimes I order the BLT or bacon, egg and cheese on a croissant...both of those sandwiches are good, too! The think I appreciate the most is the consistency of how the chicken salad and tuna salad are made. You always know what you're going to get. It's not like some places where the consistency or flavors change day by day. So hats off to the Ground Up team for doing what they do so well! They also have really nice egg-based breakfast and brunch options. There is typically a sign in front that denotes whether or not there is service or if you're supposed to order at the bar and sit. There is occasionally bugs flying around and I sometimes wish the market selection was a bit bigger (I think it used to be?) but ultimately it wouldn't be that convenient of a location for me to bop by for specialty items anyways. This joint is strictly takeout and they offer no seating. The counter girl was nice and pleasant. We ordered the grilled chicken veggie wrap and an Italian hoagie. The wrap was delicious. All of the veggies were cooked well and the chicken was flavored nicely. The wraps come with chips and a pickle. The hoagie on the other hand wasn't great. The roll was nice and fresh, the tomato and lettuce were also nice and fresh. The hoagie looks nice and had a great presentation, it just lacked the flavor. There was no seasoning at all! No salt, pepper, oregano, oil, nothing. The sharp provolone was a nice touch. It was just boring and unforgettable. It's also weird that a sandwich shop only offers one flavor of potato chips. I would return for a wrap, just not a hoagie. Solid 2-3 stars."

Gerald S. "Located in the former Chicken Holiday space in the old Middletown Shopping Center, Hubba Hubba is a sub/sandwich/pizza shop using Dietz & Watson provisions and decent rolls and bread for their deli delights. There are a few tables up front, but this is mainly a takeout operation for breakfast and lunch. I was there to satisfy a craving for homemade tuna salad in a torpedo roll, with provolone, tomato, lettuce, hot peppers, and touches of oil, vinegar and mayo. I ate back at my desk in the office. As I unwrapped the zoftig sandwich, I realized is was big enough for two meals, and also sloppy from the liquids leaking out on both ends. Remedied with paper towel underneath, I enjoyed a satisfying first bite from the cool tuna, cheese and trimmings and saw that it was worth what at first appeared to be an exorbitant price ($13+) for a simple sub. Not so bad for two meals, however. Service was pleasantly provided by the ponytailed dude behind the counter, who worked quickly as he spread, scooped, sprinkled, compressed and cut that baby in two. The man had skills. The shop seemed a bit thrown together and unkempt, which might concern the health inspector, but not me. I chowed down half and rewrapped the rest for the trip home. It was messy, so I decided to place it in the empty large coffee cup from this morning in order to save my clothes and car from olive leakage. It fit perfectly with the top on. I think maybe I'm on to something with this carry away packaging!3.5 Stars"

We searched Grubhub and stumbled upon Tanglewood Fire and Smoke of Folsom, PA. My husband was intrigued by a barbecue place that makes cheesesteaks and once we noticed that they smoke their chicken for the chicken cheesesteak, we were committed to try them out.We each ordered the Smoked Chicken Cheesesteak. It consisted of smoked, pulled chicken and a footlong roll with roasted tomato relish and chipotle queso, topped with fried chicken cracklins (fried chicken skins) and a side of house made pickles and chips. We also order two sides, my husband ordered the Buffalo Pig Bites which were crispy pork belly nuggets tossed in Buffalo sauce with a side of goat cheese ranch. I ordered a small Chipotle Mac & Cheese with the seasoned pork rinds on the side. We both agreed that the Smoked Chicken Cheesesteaks were pretty good. I was looking for the chicken to be a little more like chopped breast meat though I know that it was pulled meat but it was still very tasty. My husband was fond of the smokiness of the chicken and was glad it was not not overshadowed by the queso. I found the queso to be very rich and felt that it overshadowed the tomato relish till the point where the relish wasn't necessary. Overall just a solid cheesesteak. My husband thought the Buffalo Pork Bites were tasty and the goat cheese ranch sauce was a great complement. I thought the Mac & Cheese was just okay."

John L. "Great Italian specialty spot if your looking for imported Italian groceries and a solid sandwich. When I was a kid my mother used to take me here often for her favorite Mortadella and at the time it was one of the only places you could find Nutella. They still sell Italian playing cards and Italian cornicello to hang so you can ward off the evil eye aka malocchio. Fresh produce, dairy/cheeses, olives, Italian coffees, juices, olive oil, sweets, panettone, fresh bread, deli meats, pints of Bassett's Ice Cream etc., all sold with help from a great staff. On my last visit I asked for an Italian hoagie with proscuitto and extra sharp provolone. I believe the guy told me it also came with hot capicola, genoa salami and pepperoni. It took a little bit to get my sandwich as they were very busy at the deli counter, but it was worth the wait. My sandwich was packed with meat and on a fresh roll (which I believe came from Corropolese, but don't quote me on it). Lots of spicy bite from the hot capicola, great kick from the sharp provolone and wonderful flavor from the proscuitto. Overall, it was a solid above average premium meat Italian hoagie.I took home some Italian wafer cookies, chocolate filled Croissants and a bottle of Brioschi which kicks butt if you ever need all natural quick effervescent digestive relief. (Thankfully I don't have problem often, but when I do, I thank God this stuff exists!) Dattilo's is an older Italian market and doesn't look fancy, but to me it's still a very relevant staple to the Northeast community run by good people."
