They weren't knock-me-over great, but they hit the spot. It was a relaxing way to kill some time in the morning and get a more substantial breakfast than the "bacon, egg, and cheese on white toast" that so many places offer."

The ladies were all wonderful to chat with while waiting. They packaged the meats and the fixings individually in plastic wrap separate from the 'to die for' bread that's the key to a good Philly hoagy or cheese steak. I didn't think of that nor ask for it. All on their initiative once they knew this was a take out to DC. Of course I tipped them big time! Look, I don't know if they are the BEST steaks and hoagies in Philly. But they are the BEST me and my guests - all Philly natives - have had in years."

The huevos rancheros came with jalapeños, sour cream, hash browns, tomatoes, and carrots. Definitely like how they used hash browns instead of the typical tortilla chip! The Tuscan Omelet was very cheesy. I loved how I could substitute fruit for the fries; however, I wish they would give more of a quantity of fruit. Overall, the food was fairly priced and the service was great!"

Morris B. "A friend of mine was having a evening brunch party which I thought was interesting because I never had evening brunch. First thing I noticed when I walked up to the place is that it felt like an event space that was operating as a brunch space in the daytime which was kind of cool. I walked in and they were decorations a DJ lots of lights that were dim and food everywhere! It felt a little compact in there because there were a bunch of people but I'm sure on a regular day there's plenty of space. I would never have noticed this space in the daytime because there are so many little businesses packed on that little block. What's surprise me the most was the strawberry shortcake French toast which was completely amazing. The chicken and waffles was also good. Everything was family style that day so I got to try a little bit of everything but only took pictures of what I actually tried. I'm glad my friend had a party here and put this place on my radar because if I'm in the area again, it'll be the first place I think of in terms of getting breakfast or brunch. I definitely left stuffed and happy!"

That's right - I said it, and I can't believe, but the Rocco's sandwich joint outside HD is actually slinging some great food - from classic sausage and peppers, to their speciality breakfast sandwich - "the gavone." One of the most accurately named sandwiches, because I felt like a pig afterwords, but I enjoyed every second of eating it.This breakfast sando is a combination of eggs, steak, peppers, potatoes, onions, cheese, and their hot sauce. Roger K. "We missed the breakfast offered at our hotel, so we searched Yelp for something not far away and saw Nudy's and one other place on Bridge Street. The other place did not appear to be open so we ended up at Nudy's. It turned out to be a good omen.We were seated promptly about 10:30am. The menu is extensive with breakfast being served all day. We started with coffee, $2.99/cup, with refills. My wife ordered the Salmon Florentine ($15.99) - two poached eggs, with spinach and salmon topped with hollandaise sauce, served on an English muffin with home fries. She did not care for the hollandaise sauce and thought the home fries could have spent more time on the griddle getting crisped.I ordered the Farmer's omelet ($12.99) - I don't know how many eggs, but it seemed like more than two, with ham, sausage, peppers, onions, and bacon. It came with a side of home fries, and I chose to add raisin toast for an upcharge of $.35. I agree with my wife that the home fries would have been more to our liking if they were crispier. The toasted raisin bread was very good. It was thickly sliced and flavorful. I also enjoyed my omelet, but I can't say it was outstanding. After reading another reviewer's comment, I do feel obliged to comment that the men's restroom was very clean. I did find it very difficult to connect with Yelp while sitting inside. Initially, my search only found Nudy's - Audubon, so checked in there by mistake."

Vincent G. "The fact that I just visited Sulimay's for the first time, is a personal letdown. I can't imagine how often I would eat here if I lived closer to Girard. If you want a taste of Fishtown, then look no further...this diner has all the feels of what Fishtown represents: from the wait staff, to the art on the walls, to their menu (which has specific callouts and creations that showcase culinary ties to the local neighborhoods).I was completely blown away with my dish, which was scrapple and white fish mix with eggs. I am not embarrassed to say this, but I had an audible expression after my first bite...which immediately drew the attention of my family sitting with me, and they knew that I had ordered the winning plate. This is something that I've never seen on the menu anywhere else, it was the perfect combination of crunchy/spicy/buttery and dense. Also, when they ask you the option of the type of potatoes you want, you have to go with their home fries - unreal!it's a local vibe without the "locals only" expectations. This is absolutely a visitors destination for breakfast or lunch and one that you should try to schedule in, no matter where you're staying at in the city."

So, make it a point to go over there - it's worth every second.I like the aesthetic of the location: it's small, quiet, but still has a decent amount of seating for the space it occupies. It's decorated nicely, and I enjoy staring at everything on the walls. I stopped in, ordered some avocado toast and a latte and some other small items, and was very pleased with my total cost at the end. I feel like I've made similar orders at cafes only to pay much more for what I paid for here.I've been there a few times now, and I've been greeted by a different person each time, and they're all incredibly warm and friendly. This also makes Two Eagles that much more appealing.Highly recommend."

I don't know the gentleman's name who welcomed us and went through the entire menu for us! We were told the flour tortilla has pork in and I truly appreciated the transparency. We were told to swap out with the vegan tortilla. Migas - egg, tortilla chips, tomato, onion, cilantro, cheese, avocadoSolid, inspired to make it at home. I also order the tuna salad sandwich regularly. And sometimes I order the BLT or bacon, egg and cheese on a croissant...both of those sandwiches are good, too! The think I appreciate the most is the consistency of how the chicken salad and tuna salad are made. You always know what you're going to get. It's not like some places where the consistency or flavors change day by day. So hats off to the Ground Up team for doing what they do so well! We frequented on a "Taco Tuesday" before our HH review. Let's start with the basics - there's street parking available and two happy hour time slots Monday through Friday (4:30-6pm & 9-10pm). Aesthetically, it's a very hip vibe but romantic enough for a date night. As far as our happy hour review was concerned, the food choices were limited. I tried the FROSÉ and crispy Asian wings, both were delicious! Sadly, there were only two additional food options so we decided to order a few things off the dinner menu. We tried bruschetta, meatballs, disco fries, calamari and nachos. These items were an average of $14 each. My favorite was the meatballs, but sadly the other items missed the mark for me at the price point. Our server was friendly & attentive, which was a plus! Overall, despite the pricey bill we enjoyed the ambiance and the yummy FROSÉ is enough for me to return & try a dish off the dinner menu. I've been eyeing the braised short ribs!"

Just think it would taste better not using seed oils. Also, it would have been nice if staff guy upfront wasn't on his phone. Strong Java is likewise the case with obviously well curated and roasted beans to choose among. I bought a half dozen (vanilla, maple, strawberry & cream, banana foster) for a king's ransom, thinking I would be rewarded with excellence in donut baking skills. Well, not quite. Apparently, baked the day before, each was semi stale on first bite. There was little to distinguish between the vanilla and maple variants in flavor, and both textures were past their prime, drying and lacking freshness. The philo layered banana and strawberry pastries had a decent flavor with pleasant light creams, but the delicate layers were hardening and the bite was tougher than it should have been. Rather than cleaving smoothly, my teeth caused the structure to collapse. Disappointing. Flavor without proper texture is less than half satisfying. It teases of possibilities, but delivers only empty promises."
