I'd try this place again."

"Delicious chicken sandwich. I ordered the hot Mac sandwich, the southern bbq sandwich, a side of fries, and the Mac and cheese. The sandwiches were flavorful, crispy, and juicy at the same time. In comparison to other local chicken joints, there are more options for type of sandwich flavor combo as well as wing, wrap, and tender options. The portion of chicken was substantial as well. My more spice inclined friend did note though, if you want your actual spice level order 1 higher than you expect. The plain fries were crispy, would definitely opt for getting them seasoned or topped with cheese or sauce. The Mac and cheese was your regular tasting stovetop Mac, nothing to phone home about but satisfying enough. The service was prompt and the restaurant was very clean. It was a takeout order, but could definitely see myself grabbing a beer and another sandwich another time."

"Johnny's Hots are known for their hot sausages. You can get a variety of hot sausage sandwiches. On one of my morning walks to Penn Treaty Park I decided to stop by and see for myself if the sausages lived up to the hype. I ordered a Sausage, egg & cheese. It comes on like a hoagie roll. I also saw a tasty looking apple danish and grabbed that too. I sat in the park to eat my meal. I am happy to report that the sausage lived up to the hype. It is just the right amount of hot, not overpowering. And It's very juicy. The sandwich was made with the perfect ratio of sausage to egg to cheese. I devoured it! It was soo good! The roll was slightly chewy, which makes me think it wasn't the freshest. The apple danish was a tasty treat I'm glad that I ordered to end my meal with. The big negative to Johnny's Hots is that it's a cash only business. That's ridiculous in 2022. You lose far more business than you save in fees when u don't accept credit cards. I rarely carry cash, so I can rarely stop here for those mouth watering sausages. Such a shame."

The portions were ample; the stuffed Salmon was amazing, and so was the broccoli. The Mac and Cheese was pretty good, a little different than I am used to but not in a bad way, I still enjoyed it. It's a little pricey but the quality of food was made it worth it. I also had the Berry juice (the blue one) which was delicious. I'll definitely be eating here again!"

"I was working at a conference right across from Reading Market and when I saw Frank's had pierogis, I knew I had to try them!!Pierogis are one of my favorite foods since my family would make them every Christmas growing up. While I'd never expect a place to have them as good as our family's homemade recipe, I really enjoyed the pierogis here!They have an eclectic variety of food like wings, Mac n cheese, cornbreads with different fruits, and more. I got the pierogis that were 4 for $6, along with q side of sour cream. They tasted really good and I enjoyed them for lunch. All their food looked tasty, and I was very happy with my lunch here!"

"Words cannot explain how much I'd loved the food here and the ambiance and the service. Just everything! Came here to celebrate a friend's birthday and some well-deserved promotions at work and we couldn't have chosen a better place on a lovely Saturday brunch-filled morning. .We arrived and we're escorted to the second floor which opened up to a cozy but at the same time tall ceiling Place filled with art and random exotic plants and happy customers eating delicious food. We ordered a few appetizers which were pretty delicious, but the star of the show for me was their spend on a Nashville hot open face chicken sandwich. It was by far the most delicious chicken sandwich I'd eaten in years. The combination of a thick breaded and buttery crust holding very moist chicken was just incredible. I honestly can't even remember what my side dish was or would it taste like even with pictures because that's how focused I was on the chicken sandwich lol My drink was pretty good but I really enjoyed my wife's drink the most because it had hints of elderflower and some really bitter liquor. That was a great balance. I had their take on carrot cake for dessert which was okay.. It wasn't terrible at all, but I wish the portions were a little bigger. Overall, I cannot wait to spend another Saturday or Sunday brunch at the Love."

"Sure it's oddly dated. Like a cross between my moms early 70's Colonial living room set and a 50's diner. I mean this in a nice nostalgic way. The service was pleasant and the owner has a really cute dog. The food was spot on. Crispy grilled cornbread, friend had a perfectly cooked omelette and I had bacon crispy and eggs with hash browns. It was all delicious . It's on the expensive side but breakfast is cheap even when it's expensive. Right by Valley Forge park so you can stop before or after."

"I went to Upland diner with high expectations and we all know how that goes. It was morning so I got a cheesesteak and egg sandwich. They have a pick window. Order at the window and they will bring your food to your car. This was a fresh roll and I love it when I pick up a fresh roll. It was $12.29 after tax. As a cheesesteak with egg it was small. As an egg and cheesesteak sandwich I would have liked home fries. I didn't like the fried onions. It was a good sandwich and a very nice woman waited on me but it could have been better.Reese chocolate Chip pancakes caught my eye!!"

"It is easy to understand the Fairmount resident compulsion to gatekeep the heck out of Bad Brother. Upon arrival around 6pm on a Friday, my friend and I were hoping to score bar seats to enjoy some post-work dinner and drinks. Both of us live in the neighborhood, had never been, and were way past-due for a visit. No dice on the bar seats since the Bad Brother happy hour is such a crowd favorite, but the awesome staff here squeezed us in at a table for 2 upstairs.Everything was top tier from service to food to easy going ambience. They seem to do it all - great cocktail list, strong wine selection, elevated and delicious "pub" food, and also...arcade games. I love a reliable spot that can be a catch all for any mood, vibe, or occasion, and Bad Brother does it with ease. I tried the kids burger, caesar salad, and fries and thoroughly enjoyed everything, with a special shout out to their house made caesar. Once we wrapped up our wine and meal, our server casually said "are we gonna get some doughnuts?" and we immediately (and correctly) responded "yes." If you take nothing else from this review, do NOT skip the doughnuts. Under no circumstance are you to skip the doughnuts. Oh, you're too full and don't want dessert? You're wrong. Oh, you don't typically like sweet treats? A) seek help and b) order the doughnuts anyways and thank me later. I want to go back and try the sausage roll and wings and soup and basically the entire menu. Make a reservation or try your hand at nabbing a bar stool, but I would head over right when they open. "My wife and I had their French Onion Cheesesteak with Swiss after our guided tour of the Eastern State Penitentiary. We were very impressed and rate it the third best cheesesteak of the eight we had during our trip, and only Jim's and Joe's could beat it. The ribeye meat tasted very fresh as did all the toppings and the roll. My wife at most of it since I was more full from our carb-y but amazing brunch at Green Eggs Cafe. This seems to be a newer secondary location to the one in Old City and was not very busy. The seating was quite roomy and the service was fast."

The cheese steak look extra meaty and a nice size for one person. The mozzarella sticks is a little bigger than the average one you buy from the supermarket.Me and my daughter enjoy the burger and the wings together. The Jalapeño burger is huge with a heavy meaty taste. Usually Jalapeño means extra spice, but this burger is just right on the spice. And the wings are very juicy and big. Also the delivery is super fast, we received our order within 35 minutes.P.S there is a pricing mistake on GH, 6 wings on GH is around $3.80, but on the actual menu, it is around $5.60."

They turned the order around in about 5 minutes and I was on my way. The cheesesteak hoagie delivered a ton of meat alongside the usual hoagie fixings. It tasted great and given the size and price was a good value. Service was friendly, but again I was only in and out in a few minutes.Alongside the usual cheesesteak, hoagie, burger options, they do sell their own soda. These sodas are throwbacks imo with flavors like black cherry, white birch, etc. I'd say they are willing to give as try as well.I cannot say if I'll be dining in at Barry's anytime soon. Walking distance from where we were staying and in a great part of town, we really liked The Tavern! First off, the unique vibe of the restaurant being below ground level as you have to go down several steps to enter made for a fun first impression especially coming from an area where this is very uncommon! We were seated in the back which felt like a neat underground secret space with the exposed wooden beams and low ceilings! We started off with drinks which we all liked then proceeded to our entrees! I opted for the mushroom, edamame black bean burger and garlic fries! I very much liked my meal and was impressed by the flavoring of the burger! The fries were definitely my favorite part of the meal as they were delicious as is! All of the ladies in our party enjoyed their meal and had a good time at The Tavern! We highly encourage both locals and those visiting from out of town to give it a try!"

I came two days later by myself for a late lunch and fell IN love with it.I wanted to opt for something different, but I just HAD to get another taste of that chicken. I ordered two sets of the chicken buns for me and my BF (you get 2 small sliders per order and I think it's enough for one person) and a side of garlic (or truffle?) parmesan fries and it came to $24, so kind of pricy, but WELL worth it.First of all, I had it piping hot at the Yelp Event and then the second time got it to go and didn't consume it until a half hour later and BOTH times it was fantastic at both temperatures. The fries were also DOPE (and I'm usually not big on those types of fries).The sandwich is sweet, salty, crunchy, delectable chicken with a beautiful aioli and housemade pickle on a wonderful buttery bun.When I stopped in the second time, the staff was SO friendly. I sat at the bar for a bit and they offered me some wine and a sampling of their really great slow-cooked pulled pork simmering in juices.I was mad I didn't try the steak sliders, but I'll 100% be back here soon!"

"I was excited to see the the menu as I was driving through here and would need to pick up lunch on a Monday and there are not too many places open for lunch on a Monday. I had my reservations when I went in as everything seemed to need a deep cleaning - everything seemed a bit sticky. I ordered the chicken cutlet sandwich -the DiNiro a combination of chicken cutlet, roasted peppers, prosciutto di Parma, pesto mayo, arugula, red onion, Aged provolone, balsamic reduction on a toasted roll. There definitely was no provolone on the sandwich. The cutlet had been precooked and was put on the grill and chopped up to reheat and then placed in the oven which dried out the roll and didn't lend any more benefit to the sandwich. I brought half home and the response from my family member who at that half was that it had potential but failed at execution. Don't think I will be back, even on a Monday."

"This is spot is located in the Deco Food Hall. I've only tried it once. I tried "the problem" on the advice of a coworker. It's pretty large so good for sharing with someone or saving for leftovers. The taste was pretty good but think the kale on top could have either been chopped up more or possibly grilled/steamed. The rest of the ingredients are cooked. Overall pretty good, and I'm glad when I can find unique veggie options. They also have a chickpea tuna sandwich that I need to try soon!"

"I've come to Bubby's for many years for breakfast and lunch until my job moved to another section of the City. Now I so miss everything Bubby. I happened to be in the area for a meeting and said I just had to stop and get one of my favorites from Bubby's - the chicken cutlet hoagie. You watch the plentiful cutlets being breaded on the spot before being fried and placed in the hoagie roll with any trimmings and cheese you may want. They also do awesome Philly cheesesteaks, hot sausages, hot dogs, and you name the breakfast sandwich and he can probably make it. They also have the sides like fries or onion rings. Or maybe oatmeal or grits. The homemade lemonade is the bomb. Bubby's is so much better than any Wawa.The place is super small and there's no tables...just enough room for about six to wait standing inside the sliding glass door if it's cold and windy or rainy. You have to be patient as lines sometimes get long, but moves quickly. Prices are very reasonable.CASH ONLY! Boy, do I miss Bubby's. I wish he opened up near me! That homemade chicken cutlet hoagie was superb. Yum!"

"Classic cheesesteak joint on the corner in a seedy neighborhood, gotta love Philly! Maybe if I didn't know any better, this place would receive more stars, but we're looking at is pretty average stuff here. Shaved ribeye isn't too thick and certainly not chopped. Therefore, NO MELT! Fail! Now maybe if the meat had a flavor that could stand-out on its own, we could allow this to pass, but this is only a step or two above boxed frozen crap from the supermarket. Not enough salt and just an average meaty taste. Some of the onions were cooked perfectly while some were nearly raw. The difference in textures was distracting and raw onion is not as good as cooked. Mayo was available in a self-serve condiment pump can and was absolutely disgusting. DO NOT use this mayo, it will ruin anything it touches. Free hot peppers always recommended. There are two windows for ordering, and you need to know which one to go to to order steaks or side orders. Luckily, this rookie rolled up to the correct window by accident, and was able to figure out the process by watching others make mistakes and then get corrected by all the pros who were there waiting for their steaks and fried foods near their respective windows. For a cheesesteak place that's open 24 hours, it's a nice location off the highway and not a bad option. Just not going to be one of my regular stops."
